Ring Lost in Bressi Ranch Found

Even though it was later in the day than usual, and their regular ball playing routine would be postponed to another day, Jay took his dogs to their favorite area for a run and romp in the park grass. While wrestling with his two dogs, his now loose fitting wedding ring popped off his finger and disappeared in the long fescue grass. Even though the search area wasn’t very large, try as he might, with flashlight and hands and knees hunting that night and the next morning, Jay couldn’t come up with it. He found me online and we arranged to meet around noon. We walked the short distance to the search area and after just 3 other signals, Jay’s wedding ring told my Equinox that “hey” I’m here! See? I’m a solid 15 and not a pull tab! Save me! Jay was more than happy to get his symbol of love back again to continue it’s story. Great to meet you Jay, and thank you for the reward.

Lost & Found Ring in Langley BC…

I received a call at 8:30 p.m on Sunday in regards  to a lost ring at a  playground in Langley. The young man told me that the ring belonged to his 5 year old daughter and it was just given to her that day from her grandmother. The story was that the girls grandmother just arrived back from Ireland where she bought the ring for her granddaughter. It was lost only 4 hours after she was given the ring.

I was getting ready to hit the hay as I had to get up at 4:30 am when Scott called, I knew this had to be looked for that evening as a lot of people search playgrounds and that ring could have been found the next day. I jumped into my car and headed 25 minutes down the road to Langley to help find the ring.

It was just starting to get dark when I arrived and Scott showed me the area his daughter was playing in, so I started my search. About 20 minutes into the search I found the ring!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love my job! Scott was so happy that the ring was found and I’m sure grandmother would be too!

I got got a call  from a woman who lost a ring in a condominium on the beach. It was a very complicated search involved multiple levels of grass, parking lots, bushes and flower beds. But I succeeded on the second day.

Maryland Man’s Wedding Ring Lost On Emerald Isle Beach Found

Laura & Roy were spending a traditional trip to Emerald Isle, North Carolina with their Maryland friends.  Roy handed his wedding band to Laura while he went for a swim.  Laura placed her husbands ring in a pocket attached to a beach chair among the group of other friends chairs.  It wasn’t until much later when Laura went to retrieve the ring from the pocket.  It was then she discovered the pocket had a hole that allowed the ring to escape.

Laura called me after a friend in the group mentioned someone must search for these kind of things and she also found from a local surf shop of my business of finding lost items.  Laura gave me a call the following day and I agreed to load up and head her way.  After searching beach near the water first, I made my way toward the higher beach.  After a few unwanted signals, I came across a solid tone on my CTX-3030.  After 1 scoop I held the ring up in the air for Laura to see and she dropped to her knees with relief!

iPhone found and returned, Jacksonville Beach

I was out detecting Jacksonville Beach yesterday.   I wasn’t getting a lot of good signals,  mostly pull tabs.  After about an hour of detecting, I had a crazy erratic high signal, the numbers were all over the place.  I put my scoop in the sand and out of the sand about 6 inches deep was an iphone.  It was not in a waterproof case and sure enough it would not turn on.  Bummer, as I was hoping to locate the owner.

After a couple more hours of detecting, I was approach by a gentleman.  He came over and asked if I could help him locate his phone.  He had dropped it in about waist deep water.  I asked him if it was in a waterproof case and he said it was.  I told him I would be right back to help look.  I took my pouch and my keys to the lifeguard down the beach, I was not prepared to get waist deep and didn’t want to loose my valuables in the water.  I went back and asked him a few questions about where he was standing.  The tide had turned about 45 minutes earlier and was coming in fast.  I walked out to were the waves were crashing the shore, about waist deep.   He and a couple of other people had already been looking.    I wasn’t sure if I would find it because the waves were pretty rough.  I got in the water and walked up the beach about 30 yards and made my turn to come back.  About half way back, I got the same signal I had gotten with the other phone.  I knew I had it under the coil.  I call him over and told him to reach under the coil and get his phone.   I couldn’t reach down, I didn’t have my waterproof headset on and I knew the waves would cover my head if I reached down.  He reached down and right as he was grabbing his phone, a wave knocked him over.  When he came up, he was smiling for ear to ear.  He had his phone in his hand.   Thank goodness it was still working

This is why I love this hobby.

I am trying to dry out the other cell phone and I still hope to return it to it’s owner soon.

Lost Platinum Wedding Band, Strathcona Athletic Park, Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Theresa emailed me last evening requesting my services to find her husband’s wedding band which he had lost while playing baseball at the park.

Her husband Everett  called me this morning and explained that he had lost the ring at the ball diamond and had spent a considerable amount of time looking for the ring with no luck so I agreed to meet him at the park within 45 minutes.

When I arrived Everett and Theresa were  busy looking for the ring. While setting up my equipment I gave Everett some marker flags and told him to place the flags where he thought the ring could possibly be.   Everett did a fantastic job in marking the field and it was a huge area to cover.

After about 1/2 hour I heard Theresa shout out  “I found it” and I looked up and there she was about 30 feet outside the marked area where Everett had placed the flags.  Just goes to show you never know where a ring can end up!  Fantastic job Theresa in finding Everett’s ring.

How to find a lost ring in the sand, Spanish Banks Beach… Vancouver, BC.

Summer is warming up and more calls are coming in…This call was from a young man who said that his friend lost a large gold ring while throwing a foot ball. These searches are usually 100% successful because they know that the ring came off while throwing the ball.

I told them to relax and I will find the ring, it was almost  a 1 1/2 hour drive to get there, so I hit the road right away.

When I arrived and met the party I was introduced to the young man who lost what I found out was his wedding band, it was a huge one by the sounds of it. As I was getting ready to do the search and after asking my typical questions, I noticed there was a lot of eyes on me!  I knew the pressure was on! But not to worry as I also knew it was a matter of time before I find the ring. I knew I would find it as sand eats up gold, but the gold can’t hide from me and my detector!

30 seconds into the search I received a great signal on my detector and BINGO! I had his huge gold ring in my scoop. I loved the reaction of everyone on the beach as they cheered for the young man!

Wedding Ring Lost On Topsail Beach Was Quickly Found

Adam was spending another vacation day with the family.  Searching for shark teeth, hoping to witness a baby turtle nest hatch and throwing a ball with one of his sons.  He stated that he usually keeps the ring home but in this occasion,  forgot…  Adam contacted Emerald Isle Metal Detecting shortly after the loss and plans were agreed.   Adam was very helpful in showing the area he thought the ring was in while he was along the shoreline.   My 2nd target, just after his son & wife walked past, was Adam’s ring!
