August 10 while having an SRARC board meeting, a call came in for a lost ring on St. Pete Beach. Tom Jones, Joe Szemer, Andrew Szemer and Mike Miller went to the beach at 10:30 pm. The team got to the beach and found the ring within the first 10 seconds after the hunt started.

The following evening the ring was returned to the happy couple. Upon meeting Elizabeth and Nemo, the comment was made, “Nemo, as in Captain Nemo?” Elizabeth replied, “No, as in Finding Nemo.”

Lost Tungsten Ring Redington Beach

Doug Brosack, Stan Flack, Mike Miller, Unknown Couple and Tom Jones

The day before their 3rd anniversary, this man lost his wedding band in the Gulf of Mexico. The detecting group were on the beach to meet another couple that had lost  a platinum wedding band  the previous day. Tom Jones saw this couple thinking that they were the people he was meeting and approach them. He found out that they were not the couple he was meeting. In turn the gentleman said that he too had lost his wedding band yesterday.  The four detectorist hunted for about 45 minutes then the Tungsten ring was found.

To everyone’s surprise the couple had disappeared. 30 minutes later the lady shows up and was in tears when she learned that the ring had been found. She phoned her husband who had resolved that no one would be able to find his ring and told him to “get down to the beach now.” The couple was so happy that their anniversary weekend getaway had been saved.

After everyone parted ways Tom realized that in all of the excitement no one remembered to exchange names or contact information.

They will be remembered as the “once again happy, 3rd anniversary couple from Queens NY.”

After going on theringfinders.com Tara McNamee called Tom Jones at 10:37pm on Aug 4th to tell him that her husband had lost his platinum wedding band in the Gulf of Mexico that day. Tom informed her that he had already organized a hunt for another platinum ring for the next morning at 8:00am just 4 blocks up the beach from where the ring was lost. They agreed to meet at 9:00am to start the hunt.

The next morning after finding the first ring by 8:30, the search party moved down the beach to search for the next ring. Five minutes in the water one of the searchers found the ring before the couple got to the beach. Upon arrival the couple was elated to learn that the ring had already been located. Tara said that she had prayed to St. Anthony since her father, Anthony, had recently passed away.

Whether it was good directions from Tara or divine intervention it brought back the smiles on this wonderful couple from Queens, NY.

Just yesterday around 3 pm I received a call from a young man that lost his wedding band at a construction site in Abbotsford.I quickly called our other member from Abbotsford to see if he wanted to do it as it would be nice for him to get some practise but I never heard back from him so I made arrangements to meet Chris who lost his ring that evening.Abbotsford is a good hour drive for me so by the time I got off work and grabbed my equipment and met Chris at a gas station it was 10 pm. I followed him to the construction site where I signed in and followed him to his job site where his ring was lost. We looked over the 2 possibilities and we both felt that the ring was lost at the 2nd location. I grabbed my light to do the interview and off I went to search for the ring… It only took a minute to get a signal and a huge Smile! I feel just as excited to find the ring as the person I find it for!  Chris was so very happy, he called his wife who sounded very excited and emotional that the ring was found! It’s so refreshing to see what a ring means to a man as we know how emotional the ladies get when I recover their lost rings. Well I received a call from a young man yesterday in regards to his lost gold wedding band at Jericho Beach in Vancouver. He tells me he thinks he lost his ring in the ocean while throwing a Frisbee, however we will not be able to meet as he had a dinner date with his wife that night. He told me that he would go back in the morning to search for the ring at low tide. I got off work early today and just then I get a call from the young man asking if we could meet to search for his ring…

I met Derek and his wife at the beach and we talked about the search and Derek walked me over to the log they were sitting at….

With in seconds of searching the area we found his wedding ring in the dry sand…

Derek and his wife were very happy and grateful for finding his lost ring!

I was blown away that no one found the ring as it was right next to a log and we all know to search the logs…

Lost Silver Native Carved Ring at Kits Beach, Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This evening I got from a young lady who lost her silver ring at Kits beach. She told me that she had been looking for the ring in the water for 2 hours! I knew right then that I’d be on my way to help her find it. I asked her to make good reference points to where the ring came off in the water and she did. When I arrived at Kits Beach at 9:30 PM I met Kristina and she told me the story about the ring and that it was a native carved ring that was given to her by her boyfriend 1 1/2 years ago and she went on to tell me how important it was to her and how much she’d love to get it back.  We discussed the search area and she was very confident that she could put me in the exact area where she felt the ring come off her finger and fall into the water. Only one minute in the water and I found her beautiful silver native carved ring and the smile tells you the rest!  I wish I had my camera on when I first found the ring to show you her reaction…I’m blessed with the ability to make people smile…I love my Job!Lost your ring? Lost Diamond Pendent at Trout Lake Park in Vancouver, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Today at around 10am I received a call from a young lady who told me that she had lost her diamond pendent at a park not far from where I live so I jumped into my SUV and headed out to meet and hopefully find her diamond pendent.

When I arrived I was greeted by two young ladies who had set up a grid of the area they believed the pendent was in…

I started my search and I found a few targets mostly junk and then Maggie headed out to the rest room and her friend stayed behind while I was searching.

Not long after she left I received a good signal on my Whites V3I, I moved the grass to see the diamond pendent sparkling at me! I called Maggie’s girlfriend over to show her and we both just smiled…

A minute later Maggie showed up and I told her that I found a bottle cap and held up her pendent…

I love the reaction when people first see their lost item!

How special was Maggie’s diamond pendent? It was given to her 6 years ago from her boyfriend on her first year anniversary…And they are still together today!

I love my job!

Lost Breitling Watch in the Ocean at Kits Beach, Vancouver BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Well this was a first for me in the 18 years I’ve been offering this service here in Vancouver… Two watch searches in less then 24 hours, the first was for a Rolex that was lost in the ocean and I found that one and this search for a Breitling…Both high quality watches and both I have owned back in the day so I understood how hard that must have been on both of them.I received a call from a young man that went on to explain that he lost his Breitling Transocean at the beach a few days ago and he wanted to know if I could help. Time is always a factor and watches are easy to spot so I explained that someone could have already found the watch. Well after seeing the area the watch was lost in I decided to come back at 3am to search the low tide where he thought it was lost at…After setting up my glow sticks  on the shore so I’d have a reference markers to line up with I started my grid search. After 1 1/2 hours in the dark I received a good strong signal and as I looked into my sand scoop I saw the watch! I felt so happy that I found the watch and that I’d get to text him a picture for him to see when he woke up. Thank you very much for the kind reward Aviv!I have the greatest job in the world! I love my Job! Lost something?Call me ASAPYou can watch the video on the link below…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGJ5o0eYZe0
