Got a call from Christine who asked if I could possible help her find her diamond engagement ring which fell in her car by the drivers seat and somehow just disappeared! Her husband tried looking for it with a flashlight and literally bruised and scraped up both hands while sticking his fingers into the small cracks and crevices trying his best to locate his dear wife’s lost ring. They even took it to the Mazda dealer and they removed the seat and searched for the ring as well but were unable to find her lost engagement ring. Christine was very distraught over the whole ordeal and went online to look for some help and stumbled onto theringfinders.com. She was fascinated that there actually existed a unique service of ring finding specialists who recover lost ring on land, in the water, in cars and most anyplace imaginable. She called me and I came the next day with my equipment and began my search. My main tool of choice for these types of searches is an endoscope that is ideal for looking in tiny, restricted areas. Under Christine’s car seat there was only one slit in the carpet where electrical wires go to control the seat adjustments. It took about 20 minutes and at one point I saw a penny that was in a small grooved area and further back behind the penny I saw a sparkling reflection that could only be Christine’s diamond ring. I then rigged up a thin cooper wire with a small hook on the end and carefully worked it along the cable of my endoscope and gently and very slowly pulled her ring out to where I could grab it with my fingers. I handed the ring to Christine’s husband and said, “How should we surprise Christine?”. Just then Christine came out of the house and asked how it was going. So I casually said, “Well I did find a penny…..and then I found this hiding behind the penny!”. Christine could not hold back the tears…only these were tears of JOY!!

John Jr. called me from Flagler Beach on Mothers Day to ask for my help! You see, his wife had wrapped her engagement ring in her shirt and left it on the beach towel as they swam and enjoyed the Florida sun, sand and ocean water. (This was their last day in Florida and they needed to return their rental car and catch a plane to Chicago later on in the day.). So when the time came to pack everything up they grabbed the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, coolers and their items of clothing like T-shirts, sandals and a certain shirt all neatly rolled up! Unfortunately they forgot that John’s wife’s engagement ring was tucked away inside and when they shook the sand out of the shirt, the ring went flying into the soft coquina sand! They frantically searched for some time by dragging their fingers through the sand hoping to catch a glimpse of the platinum ring and someone suggested looking online for some help and that is what led John Jr to give me a call. Here is what John’s father wrote…”I am so grateful for Mike McInroe and for his services today. He traveled more than 80 miles on Mothers Day to locate a precious engagement ring that my son and daughter in law misplaced in the sand at Flagler Beach. Newlyweds Wedding Ring Lost On Surf City Beach Found The Next Day

I woke up around 4:00 am and checked my business messages.  Just after 1:30, Caroline informed me her husband, of almost 6 months, Edson had lost his gold wedding band, the prior afternoon, somewhere on the beach.  I later discovered she also posted on a social media group in the area about the lost ring with a description of the ring but thankfully, not the precise location of the loss.  Later that morning, we made plans to search in the afternoon when the high tide was subsiding because she thought it may have come off while they were walking in the shallow water.  Edson was very good at remembering details that narrowed the search area and within 10 minutes, a very strong signal on a beach that wasn’t providing too many signals proved to be Edson’s lost ring.  The couple was in disbelief that it was found so quickly!

Unfortunately while getting all the cute shots, I dropped my keys somewhere in the field. Talk about needle and haystack, after looking for an hour and the help of a very kind Good Samaritan it became clear I wasn’t going to find them. I had car keys, house keys, storage keys — everything on that key chain. I knew all I needed was a metal detector. That’s where Crystal Coast Ring Finders came in. Lost diamond engagement ring in the grass in Ocoee, Florida…Found and happily returned to owner!

How does an engagement ring end up in the thick grass? There are literally dozens of ways that rings can get lost in someones yard and on this occasion Annie and her husband had just pulled up into their drive way and were getting out of their car when Annie’s hands were feeling a bit swollen due to the summer humidity. She wanted to remove her rings before going inside and she tried pulling her rings off and all of a sudden they both just popped off and went flying into the grass. Here is a short text from her husband of that shocking experience. “My wife dropped her wedding band and engagement ring in our yard. We found the wedding band but not the engagement ring. We bought a metal detector and spent a whole day searching with no luck. We were stressed and anxious. I texted Mike and he made time to come see us the very next day. Jeff was enjoying a Sunday afternoon with his family at Honeymoon Island State Park as he and his sons were tossing a football around in waist deep water. Jeff reached back on one toss over his head and his 14k white gold wedding ring flew off of his finger into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Even though there is normally good visibility, Jeff was unable to locate his ring in the water.

Jeff called me the following evening as his wife’s sister had recommended. He gave me the details and texted some maps of the loss area but was not going to be able to meet me on site for a few days. I packed up my gear for a search the next afternoon at roughly the same tide time.

Ocean water searches for rings are truly like “looking for a needle in a haystack” even when someone is there to point you in the right direction and you are already very familiar with the entire beach. Even though I had some maps from Jeff and he had highlighted some distances and directions on them, I was not 100% certain I was in the right location. Speaking to a nearby chair and umbrella vendor about the maps made me a little more confident.

The waters were relatively calm and clear so I began my search in waist deep water gridding the best that I could using parallel and perpendicular landmarks. After searching for about two hours I had recovered a tungsten ring and a crusty penny along with several bottle caps and pull tabs but not Jeff’s ring. I had contacted Jeff as I was beginning my search to get confirmation of the correct search area but he was tied up at work. As I was approaching three hours into the search and having detected the same relatively small area both parallel and perpendicular to the shoreline I was beginning to question my location. I told my wife who had accompanied me that I was going to wrap up today’s search in just a few minutes when I hit a promising target. I didn’t have to scoop deep in the sand because there is a rocky bottom in this area of Honeymoon Island and out popped Jeff’s ring! This is not the first time I have recovered a ring as I was just about to leave the beach. I texted Jeff some photos and obviously he was elated! I later met Jeff at a nearby park and returned the ring.

Man’s Tungsten Wedding Band Lost Playing Football, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach, SC

Got a call from Zach asking if I could help find a lost ring? I got the details of when, where and how.  I grabbed my Equinox 800 and hit the road. He sent me the address for 14th Ave North, and for whatever reason I went to 14th Ave South. After realizing my error, I turned around and headed north. I called Zach and told him I’d be there in about 8 minutes. Zach told me his friend was waiting near the beach entrance to bring me out on the beach. When I got close, I saw a young man standing on the corner. I pulled over and ask if he was the guy waiting on me, he was. As we walked out on the beach he told me his name was Sean and he was the one who lost the ring. I asked him to tell me what happen. He said they were here for a bachelor party and had been throwing a football around. He said he dived to catch the ball and his hands went in the sand. He also said he didn’t realize his ring was gone until a little later.

As we arrived at the group of guys enjoying the beautiful day, I introduced myself. Sean showed me an area that had stakes at each corner, maybe 20×20 ft. I asked him where he thought he made the dive to catch the ball and he responded about in the middle. I asked what kind of ring and he replied Tungsten. So I knew I was looking for a VDI (visual display indicator) around 16. I turned my machine on, looked at Sean and said “How bout we get that ring back on your finger in less than a minute.” Sean just looked at me. I started at the middle end line, took about 10 steps and got the 16 I was looking for. I took a scoop of sand, shook out the scoop and saw a Tungsten ring in the bottom. I walked back towards Sean and asked him what his ring looked like. He described it to a T! He then made the comment, “that was less than a minute.” Sean was a very happy and thankful young man.

Meteorite Wedding Ring lost for 25 days in Park Recovered and Mailed back to Owner.

I had a call from a client who was from Indiana and told me he lost his Gold Meteorite Wedding Band in the grass near a park in St. Augustine, Fl. He had the general idea of the area he lost it, but informed me it was 25 days ago. I told him I would be glad to respond to the area but would be limited since St. Augustine is the oldest city in America and digging is not permitted. I was there less than 10 minutes before being approached and notified that metal detecting and digging is prohibited. I told the authorities about the wedding ring that was lost by my client and showed them a picture of what the ring looked like. I told them I did not have any digging tools and would only use my vibrating probe in attempt to locate the ring in the grass. They allowed me to continue my search as long as I did not dig or remove any other items besides trash. Man’s Platinum Wedding Band Lost, Found, and Returned White Lake, NC

Shortly after starting the lawn mower to get the grass cut, I got a call from William asking if I could help find his lost wedding band. I asked the normal questions and learned he had lost the ring the day before in White Lake. I don’t scuba dive, but have a son-in-law that’s helped me before and does, so I asked him how deep. He explained that he was sitting on the pier/boat dock fiddling with his ring when his son jumped on him. That action sent the ring flying, hitting the dock and disappearing into the water. He told me the water around the dock was about two feet deep, and the clearance under the dock was about an 8-10 inches. I asked a few more questions and asked him to send me the address. I plugged the address in my phone and told him I’d be there about 1 pm (just about an hour and a half drive). I grabbed my detector and headed out.

When I arrived at his house, he was outside waiting and we drove down to the dock. Conditions were as near perfect as they could be, with the exception of the water being a little cold. I made my way out in the water and along the side of the pier. When I got to the suspected area, I started swinging my detector. Being a Man’s Platinum wedding band, I was expecting a 12 on the machine’s VDI (visual display indicator). My first target rang up as an 18, so I made another swing and hit a solid 12. Bingo! I used my beach sand scoop and pulled his ring out of the sandy bottom. I laid the scoop on the dock and asked if it that was his ring inside. When his face lit up, I knew we had it. The responses from returning a lost ring are priceless!

Gold ring lost, recovered and returned in Wilmington, DE!

Sarah found me in the Ring Finders directory after losing a beautiful gold ring with significant sentimental value. She conveyed to me that she was visiting some friends in Wilmington, DE and was enjoying a beautiful spring evening around a backyard fire pit. She said she had been taking charge of the firepit and collecting brush, sticks and wood in the woods nearby. At some point during the evening she was heartbroken to realize her ring was missing off her finger. It was gold ring with a red coral stone that meant so much to her. She and her friends searched everywhere with no luck. She felt confident that if fell off while she was collecting and snapping wood for the firepit. I was there within 12 hours and spent 30 min looking in the grass and woods surrounding the fire pit…no luck. It then dawned on me that the most obvious place to have started my search was the firepit itself! I walked over…gave it a quick scan and BOOM! A beautiful gold ring signal on my machine…after digging an inch or 2 in the ash….there it was!!! Well….the fire turned the red coral stone to grey and the gold ring itself was a little tarnished from the fire but it can surely be restored to its original beauty! I was happy to be able to come through for Sarah!
