IPhone Lost in the Dry Sand, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Apr 4th, I received a call from Magen asking if I could find an IPhone on the beach. I responded I could and got additional details. I told her I could be there in about 30-40 minutes, she agreed, and I was on my way.

Magen had given me the code for the parking garage, so I had a place to park when I got there. I met Magen by the hotel pool, and we walked to the beach. On the way, Magen told me her 11-year-old daughter had been making sandcastles and had laid her phone on the sand. At some point they realized the phone had disappeared.  Magen knew the area where it was lost. She said they had actually drugged their feet through the area trying to find the phone. I started the search a little south and after a few lines, Magen moved me a little further north. I hadn’t gotten a description of the phone, figuring it was probably the only phone that’d be out there. At some point and unknowingly, my phone fell off my hip. As I’m searching, a young man came up behind me and asked if I was looking for a phone. I said I was, and he handed me a phone he just found. Well, not paying a lot of attention to the phone, I asked Magen If it was her daughter’s phone. When she said “no”, I realized I was holding my own phone. To say I was totally embarrassed is an understatement!!! After a couple more grid lines, I hit her daughter’s phone buried under a few inches of sand. A dance competition weekend saved.

Magen – Thanks for allowing me to help find your daughter’s IPhone. Hope you all have a great weekend and her team does great.

Lost – Men’s Gold/Platinum Heirloom Ring – Daytona Beach, FL – FOUND!!!

  • from New Smyrna Beach (Florida, United States)

Here I was before dawn, on the edge of the ocean looking for a ring that I was not called to find.  On the drive over, I prayed that I could locate the ring.  I had seen it listed on Tuesday evening, but I had to be out of town on Wednesday.  I contacted Allison the previous evening and she said that her husband could call me at 7:30 am.  While I was waiting for the call, I scoured the dead low-tide sand with my trusty Minelab Manticore with the led light on.

When Cody called, he said they were there on Monday and set up between the stairs and ADA walk-down ramp.  They went into the water but not very deep and only went about 50 feet North.  I told him that I was confident that if it was there, I would find it.

I covered all the water areas first because the tide was coming in fast.  I proceeded up the beach and into the area where they had been sitting on the beach.  Nothing but a few coins and some trash.

By this time, it was almost 9 am and I was detecting the area between the stairs for the 3rd time.  As I looked under the stairs, I sensed that I should go to the other side.  An immediate and solid hit!  It was the ring, where it should not have been but was.

All rings have a story and this one was no different; passed down from Allison’s late father!  Later that day I had the privilege to give the ring to Cody!  God is good-he had guided me when I needed him most.

A Love Ring’s Journey: A Beach Recovery Story

The waves lapped gently at the Ocean City shoreline as Ken made his way to the water’s edge. It was supposed to be a perfect weekend getaway with his girlfriend, soaking up the New Jersey sun and salt air. But sometimes life has other plans.

Ken had just wanted to rinse the stubborn beach sand from his hands. A simple task — until he felt that heart-stopping moment when his Cartier LOVE ring, usually snug on his finger, wasn’t there anymore. The panic set in immediately.

The couple spent frantic minutes sifting through the sand, their romantic afternoon turning into an increasingly desperate search. The ring could have been anywhere: in the soft sand where they’d been sitting, or worse, pulled away by the ocean’s persistent tide.

That’s when they remembered hearing about Ring Finders South Jersey, finding lost rings in Ocean City, New Jersey. One phone call later, help was on the way.

Within fifteen minutes, their metal-detecting expert arrived, ready to tackle the search. The first sweep of the ocean proved fruitless, but experience had taught him not to give up so easily. Moving back to where the couple had been lounging earlier, it took just a few passes with the detector. The gleaming Cartier ring appeared in the scoop, safe and sound.

What could have been a weekend remembered for loss became a story of relief and gratitude. The couple’s smiles said it all: sometimes the best moments are not the ones we plan. The ones where things work out just when we need them to.

*** Linda was getting ready to leave the beach after spending the day in Newport Beach, CA. When she brushed the sand off her clothing, her diamond wedding ring came off her finger diapering into the dry sand. She called me after someone on the beach told her about my metal detecting service.

These calls usually come at the end of the day as the sun begins to set and the cooler afternoon winds.people are in a hurry to get home for dinner.

Linda was frustrated when she called. After she to;d me what had happened, I assured her that I could find her ring if she waited at the site.

The location was a couple miles from my house and I met her shortly after our phone conversation. A couple minutes after starting the search, I had her very sentimental original wedding ring. She was more than happy and relieved that it wasn’t lost forever. We saved a lot of time with a quick recovery.   She was able to get on the road to get home in time to take care of the family.

Lost Wedding Ring in the Sand Recovered at East Beach Santa Barbara

Lost Wedding Ring Recovered on East Beach: Dave MacDonald, The Ring Finder Santa Barbara
If you’ve lost a ring in Santa Barbara, you’re in luck—Dave MacDonald of The Ring Finders Santa Barbara is your local expert for metal detecting and ring recovery. Last night, I received an urgent text from Joshua, a Bay Area resident visiting his daughter at UC Santa Barbara (UCSB). While enjoying a family day at East Beach, disaster struck: his wife’s platinum wedding ring slipped off into the sand near the high tide line. For locals and visitors alike, losing a ring on Santa Barbara beaches can feel hopeless—but that’s where I come in as DaveTheRingFinder in Santa Barbara.
The Search Begins on East Beach
Joshua explained that he and his wife had frantically searched the sandy stretch for 30 minutes with no success. That’s when their quick-thinking daughter searched online for “ring finder in Santa Barbara” and found me, Dave MacDonald, a proud member of The Ring Finders network serving Santa Barbara, CA. It was late, but time is critical in these situations—rings can sink deeper into the sand or get swept away by tides. I agreed to head out to East Beach right away and told Joshua I’d contact him once I arrived at the spot.
Joshua had marked the suspected location with a stick propped up in the sand. But when I got to East Beach—located along Santa Barbara’s scenic coastline near the UCSB campus—I found not one, but two sticks, spaced about 75 yards apart. This is common in beach recoveries; panic and shifting tides can confuse even the best memory.
Finding the Platinum Ring with Precision
As Santa Barbara’s trusted ring finder, I rely on my Minelab Manticore metal detector and years of experience. I started by gridding the first stick’s location, methodically sweeping the sand for any signal. Nothing turned up, so I moved to the second spot 75 yards down the beach. Halfway through gridding this area, I got a promising mid-tone signal—deeper than surface finds, suggesting the ring had settled into the sand.
Using my CKG scoop, I dug three times, and on the third scoop, I heard that satisfying clang—a sound every ring finder lives for. There, gleaming in the bottom of the scoop, was a stunning platinum wedding ring. Another success for Dave MacDonald, The Ring Finders Santa Barbara!
Reuniting the Ring with Its Owner
I immediately texted Joshua a photo to confirm it was his wife’s ring. His response? An enthusiastic “YES!” He was just 20 minutes away, so we arranged to meet up. Handing over that precious ring was a reminder of why I do this—bringing relief and joy to people in Santa Barbara and beyond.

Rob and his beautiful lady friend were coming in late and as she pulled the apartment key from her purse the car fob popped out as well and they heard it bounce off of the concrete sidewalk and then nothing. They figured it fell into the short wispy bushes and they searched with the lights on their cell phones but could not locate the hidden fob. The next morning they searched again and still no fob. They went online and found theringfinders.com website and gave me a call. Two hours later I met them at their apartment and Rob was positive about the location where the fob dropped so it was a matter of scanning the bushes with my ATMax metal detector and a double check with my Garrett AT Pro pin pointer and BINGO!

They were so happy to have their car fob again and I was happy to be a help and blessing to them.

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Stan Metal Detector Man call or text for prompt mobile metal detecting at your location.. Stan .. 949-500-2136

*** Marlo’s father, Bob called me asking for information on how the ringfinders service works. his daughter had lost a sentimental gold ring at her work place. He bought a metal detector to find  the ring in wood chips of a children’s play area. Bob realized quickly that the detector was not able to locate the ring. He had never used a metal detector before, so it just added to the frustration.

We arranged to get on the private school property in the evening after school students were not there. Bob met me there where security people accompanied us to the area of the loss. Marlo was there to explain that one of her young 7 years old students ask to see Marlo’s gold ring. A couple minutes later the little girl had dropped the ring in the wood chips.

It helps a lot to hear the whole story of the loss from the person that lost the item. I turned on my detector and shortly realized why her father was having problems with his detector. There was massive interference with EMI ( electrical magnetic interference ) .. I adjusted my metal detector to tune out the interference. A couple minutes later after digging a coin and a screw, I was able to find the small gold ring, Marlo and her father were very impressed to see how efficient a proper metal detector could find a small gold ring.

Marlo was so happy that her father had found my service to help her find a sentimental ring that was a gift from her mother. Rings have so much meanings for people. I wish I could have found the owners of rings that I have found over the past 50 years. The internet has changed that, now people can find help.

Lost Black Diamond & Titanium Wedding Ring at Kaimana Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began yesterday when I got a call from David who was on vacation from Middletown, Connecticut and enjoying the day at Kaimana Beach with his lovely wife Sara.  While heading out for a swim David’s Black Diamond Titanium ring fell off into the sand just before the reef edge in waist deep water.  He actually saw the ring on the bottom momentarily but a wave crashed into him and it was buried from sight by the stirred up sand.  David found me on “theringfinders” website and we agreed to meet the next morning at 9 during the low tide.  When I arrived I met Sara & David on the beach and David went into the water to show me where to hunt.  He had counted 25 paces from the water’s edge which was a brilliant manuever in order to get the most precise location.  Most tourists in a panic would not think to do that.  I fired up the beast and started gridding around David.  Thankfully, the area was sterile and the first target boomed on the Manticore.  Upon the second scoop there was David’s unique ring in the scoop.  David retrieved the ring from the scoop and we went up to the area where Sara was on the beach.  We were going to tell her it was a hopeless situation but I think she could tell immediately that prank wasn’t going to work.  A few laughs and handshakes and I was on my way home.  Vacation saved!  Aloha to David & Sara!
