Glasses recovered at Shark River Marina

While at work I got a call from a past employee Patty asking if my detector can find eye glasses in a metal frame. I told her it could and she asked for help. Turns out her husband while docking a boat slipped and fell into the water off the dock and his glasses flew off his face into the water. I had at first told her I’d meet her Saturday for low tide but I had a break coming up at work and it was already low tide so we agreed to meet in a half hour. I ran home and threw on a bathing suit and got my detector and headed to the marina. She showed me where he went into the water and it wasnt deep but the bottom was covered in seaweed. I decided not to use my scoop so not to damage his glasses. First signal turned out to be nothing and I moved to the side towards the boat and got another good signal reached down and felt around in the seaweed and felt his glasses. I untangled them from the seaweed and held them up and they were so happy to get them back. Her husband can see clear again and I saved him from having to get a new pair. A great ending to another recovery. Ran back home for a quick shower and back to work. Glad I could help

Man’s Titanium Wedding Band Lost in the Surf, Recovered and Returned Sunset Beach NC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

Just after 3 p.m., I got the following text “Hey Jim, my name is Mike. I’m at Sunset Beach and just lost my wedding band in the surf. Any chance you can help me?” I called the number attached to the text and spoke with Mike. I asked him about what time and how deep he was when he lost it. He replied he had lost it about an hour prior and was 2 feet deep. A quick glance at the tide tables and he was just about high tide when he lost it. So, I told him I could be there in about 30-40 minutes. I figured by the time I got there; the tide would be out far enough that the ring should be calf deep. Mike agreed to have me come and I was out the door.

When I arrived at their rental house, Mike’s sister met me in the driveway. We walked down to the beach access, and she pointed Mike out to me. I met Mike and I got a few more answers and then he led me out in the surf where he thought he lost his ring. He took me farther out than I thought his ring would be, but that was ok, I’d rather search more than less area. I followed him back in, set a landmark on the beach to guide my lines the best I could, and started a grid search. On my second line coming back in towards shore, I hit a great signal and knew I found his ring. It took me 3 scoops to get his ring out of the sand in calf deep water. When I got his ring in the scoop, I shook the scoop under water to clear the sand out. I was positive I had his ring when I heard the clatter of his ring hitting the metal of the scoop. I pulled out his ring and started walking to the beach. I watched Mike as he got out of his beach chair and start walking towards me. He had a look of uncertainty on his face until I held his ring up and then his face turned to disbelief. He told me I was amazing and then said that took maybe 4 minutes. I’ll take that!

Mike – Thank you for calling and allowing me to help get your ring back where it belongs. Have a great rest of your vacation and a safe trip back home.

Jim

Received a call a few nights ago for a lost gold band. The client explained that while playing in the sand with his children his band slipped off unbeknownst to him. He was fairly sure it was in the area where they were set up the day before, but not certain. We met up on the beach the following morning and recovered the ring after about 15 minutes of searching. Another happy client!

I received a call from Taylor last week. Taylor explained that she was on the beach visiting for the day from PA and she believes that she may have dropped her wedding band into the water. I took the short ride over and met up with Taylor and her husband in front of Wildwood convention hall. While walking down towards the beach, Taylor explained that she had removed all three of her rings and placed them in the same pocket with her cell phone. Later on, she had waded out to about calf deep water and pulled her phone out to grab a few pictures. When she pulled out her phone Taylor beleived that one of her rings came out with the phone and dropped into the ocean water. It was just about high tide when I initially met with the couple and I explained that it may be best to wait for low tide to try and recover the ring. Later, the same day, I rode back over and began searching for Taylors ring. I managed to recover her ring a short time later. Taylors ring was shipped back to her the very next day. Another happy and relieved couple!
Taylors review / recommendation:
“Absolutely would recommend Jeffrey if you end up losing anything at the beach! Lost a wedding band in Wildwood while we were down for the day and he was able to recover it and send it back to me! He was very helpful and accommodating!”

Lost Ring in Backyard in Knoxville

  • from Knoxville (Tennessee, United States)

I was contacted by Adam because he lost his wedding ring in his backyard. Adam told me he took his ring off an set it ontop of his phone on his deck prior to working in his yard. As a rain shower approach he grabbed his phone and ring to go inside and dropped his ring in the grass somewhere. He searched the previous day and couldn’t find his ring. While his wife was looking to rent a metal detector she came across theringfinders.com and found me. I arrived the same day he called and found his ring in about five minutes.

44 Year old University Ring Lost and Recovered in Nottawasaga River Wasaga Ontario

  • from Toronto (Ontario, Canada)

A few days ago, I was contacted by a man who had lost something incredibly meaningful in the Nottawasaga River in Wasaga Beach, Ontario — his late father’s university ring.

It had slipped off his finger during a night swim. In the darkness, there was no hope of finding it. The current, and water visability , and the fact that it was pitch black made it feel like it was gone forever.

But he didn’t give up. He reached out to me, and with the help of an underwater metal detector and some careful diving, I was able to return to the river in the daylight and begin a precise search.

After methodically scanning the riverbed, I got a signal — and there it was, nestled between some stones: his father’s ring, still intact.

Returning it to him was a powerful moment. You could see the weight lift off his shoulders. This wasn’t just a piece of jewelry — it was a symbol of legacy, love, and connection to someone he deeply missed.

I’m grateful to be able to help recover items like this. They’re more than metal — they’re memories.

If you’ve lost something valuable in the water, don’t hesitate to reach out. You’d be surprised what can be recovered with the right tools and persistence.

Found Class ring in lake.

  • from Bristol (Indiana, United States)

I got a text from this lady and she was wondering if I could find her ring she lost a few days ago while hitting a volleyball in the water. She said I was in about 3 to 4 feet of water. So i went out and met her at the beach. She told me where she thought she was so I searched for about 2 hrs and could not find it so I boardened the search area and she insisted that she was over where she pointed. I explained to her that I had cleared that area and sometimes where you ” lost” the ring isn’t alway where you thought and maybe its away from the spot. So she agreed on letting me widen the “search” area and 15 minutes later I found it! She couldn’t believe that it wad that far away from where she thought she was. She said her mother worked and saved for a long time so she could give it to her for graduation and that ring was the most expensive gift that she got from her. She said they had a baptism there at the beach on Sunday and afterwards they where playing in the water the water temp was about 60 degrees and she hit the ball as she was about to leave and she seen it come off. She agreed that she is not going to swim with it on again lol. I thank God for directing me and helping me bring hope to people again.
