Lost Gold Ring with Diamonds Found in Troy Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

30 Year Fixed!

I got a call from a husband saying his ring slipped off while raking leaves in the yard during warmer than usual s/e Michigan weather this week.
So I got on site and him and I talked about where he thought it may be so I set up the MXT and started to detect the area. He left me to search as he went back into the house to do a few chores and hadn’t been in there too long when I called him and said I found something interesting! I at first picked up iron signals from the rubber trim metal spikes around the area in question but then a 1 cent +60 reading came up solid from all directions and I was surprised to find the pictured 14k yellow band hiding just under 4 inches of leaves!
So he came running out and raised his hands in the air in amazement when I was holding the ring!
We got to talking a bit more and I learned that the ring, like all rings, have a special meaning and a story to them.
He mentioned that his wife on their 30th anniversary in August had his original ring and her original ring melted together and this one pictured with hubby was the one that represented both and this was her original design incorporated in his new wedding band! How cool was that I thought!
I wished them a happy holiday season and was happy to see them reunited with their ring that held such a special meaning!

Hope Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Venice Beach, Florida

The 100th Return for Jay and Karen Ganz

While vacationing with my daughter in FL, I took my ring off to put sunscreen on. I got up to attend to my three year-old and forgot my ring was on my lap. I didn’t realize the ring fell into the sand until an hour later when we were packing the car to leave. My father and I went back and combed the beach with our hands and feet for over an hour with no luck. That night I was sick to my stomach…the ring wasn’t a material possession, it was a ring I made for myself in 2014 when my daughter and I moved back to NJ from WA state, a new 2-person duo. When faced with being a single mom I told myself, “You got this” and I traded in some jewelry I no longer used to have a hope ring made. Two years later the ring was now gone. The next morning, I texted the local Ring Finders chapter and a friendly voice called me back saying her name was Karen and her husband Jay and she would love to help. I asked about the fee and she said there’s no charge but I could donate to their chapter if I wanted. They changed their existing plans and met me at Venice Beach not much later. In less than 5 minutes Karen found my ring. The next day was Thanksgiving and I couldn’t help but be thankful for my path crossing with Karen and Jay…it wasn’t the ring being returned that I was as grateful for, as it was meeting such genuinely giving people and knowing that selfless people still exist in the world. I thank them for finding my ring, but more importantly Karen and Jay showing me true kindness.

Congratulations Jay and Karen on 100 rings returned over your detecting careers. That is an AWESOME accomplishment!!!!!!!!!

Wedding Ring Lost In Manhattan Beach, CA…Found and Returned with Joy.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I got a text from Michael this afternoon regarding the loss of his wedding ring. He had been on the beach, and shook the hood of his sweatshirt when the ring flew off of his finger into the sand and disappeared. It wasn’t long after that we received a long anticipated rain shower that made looking for his ring a miserable chore. They were able to find me on the internet, and I agreed to meet them right away. They had been on the way to drop someone off at the airport, but chose to come back for the search.

I met Michael at the spot of the loss, and he showed me the area. I could see where he and the friends had been searching the area by dragging their fingers through the sand in a very meticulous grid search, but to no avail. I asked my numerous questions, and decided to start my search right in the area where he had been sitting. Within about 10 feet I received a good solid hit, and began to dig. The ring was deeper than I expected, and must have been driven down by the frantic searching prior to my arrival.

Michael saw the ring when it was uncovered, and with joy and extreme relief reached down and retrieved the prize. It was then I found out that he and his wife had only been married for 2 weeks, and had been on their honeymoon in the USA from Germany. By the joy expressed on Michael’s face, and the release of the pressure of discouragement that he had experienced, I knew this was a “Home run” day today.  It really feels great to bring the joy back in people’s lives!

Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Sand Key, Florida

Dale was at the beach fishing on the evening after Thanksgiving. He had baited several of the hooks on his poles and placed them spaced out along the beach. He returned to his tackle box and grabbed his hand rag to wipe the bait slime from his hands. Soon he had a nibble which cleaned the bait off one of his hooks. He rebaited the hook and wiped off his hands again and so it went through the night.

A few hours later Dale decided to head for home. He picked up all his poles and gear, loaded it into his vehicle and jumped into the front seat. He then noticed his wedding ring was missing. Since it was dark he decided to return in the morning to look for it. He came back with a sand sifter and shovel and sifted through all the sand he thought the ring might be hidden in. After an hour or so he gave up. When he returned home without his ring his wife was not a happy camper!!!. She found SRARC Ring Finders on Facebook and sent Paul Hill a message. Paul responded and a short time later Dale called Mike Miller. Mike contacted Mike Shuler who thought he would be able to fit a hunt into his schedule. He called Dale to try and schedule a time to meet but they were not able to connect except the next morning. Dale’s wife was very concerned that it would be too late by then so he called Mike Miller back to see if he could help out.

Mike agreed to go out right away and headed for Clearwater. About an hour later Dale, Mike, and Jeffery Miller met at the location where the ring had been lost. After searching the general area the Dale laid out for about 30 minutes the ring was recovered.

SRARC is always happy to bring smiles to faces of those who have lost something valuable to them and also to help keep peace in the family.

True 24K Mens wedding band found at Montrose Beach in Chicago

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

Got a call to look for a gold ring on Montrose Beach in Chicago, Illinois today. It was a solid 24K gold mens wedding band. I asked the owner if he knew that it was 24K. He said yes. It was made by a designer who had made similar rings for his parents. Since I had never hunted for a true 24K ring before, I wasn’t sure where it would ring up on my 3030. Since it was in dry sand, I used the 3030 which will show me the item very clearly. It rang up as a solid 12/47!!! Since it showed bright red solid on the screen 2 inches deep, and there was no trash in the area, I decided to dig it even though it came up as a quarter. BINGO! I was surprised it came in as high. Thought I would share this with you. Ive never had a gold ring come in that high on the screen.

Tim called me on a Saturday morning as I was heading to the health club. I traded the gym bag for my detector bag and was on site in 20 minutes. He had lost his wedding band in the back yard 2 days before while playing with his daughter. He had put the ring in his pocket with his cell phone. He took out his cell twice in different areas of the yard. The areas where he removed his phone from his pocket were the first searched. After finishing the second area, I started a whole yard grid search. I had a not-so-great hit so I marked my grid line and searched the hit. Nothing there. As I turned back to pick up my marker, the ring was on top of the grass a foot from the marker. As I was on my knees, being that close to the grass made the ring a lot easier to spot.

Thanks Tim for the generous reward. This will help keep our services available.

Lost White Gold Ring with Diamonds Found in West Bloomfield Michigan

A Splendid Engagement!!

Got a call from a nice young lady saying she was raking leaves and her recently new engagement ring slipped off.
When I got on site they had masked off the area to check. They also were borrowing a detector that’s used for finding property irons which did not produce the desired results.
I was only searching for about 5 min when the MXT rang out loud and clear and +12 on the meter revealed this gorgeous white gold ring!
See attached pics for response of the couple upon receiving the ring after seeing me holding it up in the air in victory!

Heirloom Diamond Wedding Ring Lost at Malibu Beach, CA…Recovered and Joyously Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

p1000206p1000205

Erika emailed me Friday night to see if I could help her find her wedding ring she lost the day before at the beach in Malibu, CA. I arranged to meet her there the next morning. This ring had been her great grandmother’s ring, so it had an extreme sentimental value to her. Because it had been gone for 2 days made the possibility, of a recovery just a little more difficult, but it seemed to be a possibility because of where she believed she lost it (not in an area of where the county beach machines clean).

I got to location at the arranged time, and looked around waiting for Erika. I received an email from her that she would be later than the set time, so I asked her where she had been on the beach, and what happened to lose the ring when we talked a little later on the phone. I started my hunt where I understood her directions to start. I apparently wasn’t listening properly, because I started on the opposite side. I started finding an assortment of things, as well as some coins. About a half an hour later I got to the area she had been sitting in and ran one grid line. I was about half way through the second line when I looked down and saw what looked like a gold band sticking out of the sand. I reached down, and pulled out this beautiful diamond ring. This ring had been there for 2 days, in a high traffic area, sticking out of the sand, and not found by anyone else. It was meant to go back to Erika!

I took the ring and placed it on my little finger’s first digit, with the diamonds towards the inside of my hand. It wasn’t 2 minutes later that Erika walked up. She looked at me and saw my progress in the sand, and then asked the ‘not so sure’ question, “no luck huh?”. I then opened my hand, and said, “you mean like this?”. She was instantly overcome with disbelief and joy. As we were talking later, she stated in question form, that ” you really like making people’s day don’t you?”, and I thought, yes that is exactly it!

Thursday November 17th Kevan was playing Rugby and lost his wedding ring, it was dark when he discovered it gone. The next day he returned with a friend and a metal detector, they had no luck locating the ring. His wife Juliane heard about me from a friend Christine (  https://theringfinders.com/blog/Don.Marshall/page/2/  )  I had recovered her husbands wedding ring 3 years before.

Juliane called me and I went to the park Friday afternoon, no luck. After getting more details I returned Saturday am and recovered the ring.

I so love my job.
