Lost ring in leaves found!

Dana sent me an email regarding Todd’s lost wedding band. Todd had to secure a fence near the back of his yard in Red Bank, New Jersey because one of his dogs is a successful escape artist. Unfortunately, the ring came off in the process, but he had an idea on the direction it might be, and that’s where I started to search. The wedding band was found shortly after, buried under a thick pile of leaves.

Bill gave me a call about his wife Amy’s rings that were lost in Brigantine, NJ. The couple was sitting on a blanket watching their son take surfing lessons when Amy placed a sentimental silver ring that was custom-made by her son and her wedding band on the blanket. She forgot her rings were there when she pulled up the blanket and shook it out. I met them later in the afternoon and was able to find both rings after a short grid-search.

Toleen lost her wedding set in Ocean City, NJ yesterday while spending the day with her family on the beach.  The rings were placed in the pocket of the beach chair and fell in the sand when she folded it up. Her daughter, Alexa, searched and found my Ring Finders South Jersey page when the family realized the rings were lost. While getting some preliminary information before searching, I asked if anyone took any pictures when they sitting on the beach. Her daughter, Liana, had a TikTok video with houses in the background that helped give an approximate location. After roughly 35 minutes of gridding the area, the rings were found! Now Toleen and her family can enjoy the rest of their vacation in Ocean City, NJ.

I received a call  from Ali Saturday afternoon after she realized she lost her 14k white gold

and diamond engagement ring in the sand during a day at the beach in Avalon,  New Jersey.

Ali gave me the details of how the ring was lost; she put the ring in her T-shirt pocket, and it

must have fallen out when the shirt was removed.  The search began in the area where

she and her family were sitting. And after a few swings of the metal detector, the ring was found!

Megan was splashing her brother while sitting in the surf in Sea Isle City, NJ when the unexpected happened; her rose gold promise ring flew off her finger into the ocean with one of the splashes. Her mother reached out to me, and I explained that we had a good chance of finding it. I met the family on the beach and started working under the low-tide line parallel to the surf, working my way up the slope. I dug a few targets before getting a “promising” signal that was 5-6 inches deep. I dug one final scoop, and the ring was returned to Megan!

Matt and Alicia enjoyed a day on the beach with their sons in Sea Isle City, NJ on Wednesday. They arrived around 3 PM and set their chairs up near the water’s edge. Before applying sunscreen to herself and her sons, Alicia took her 4 rings off and layed them on her chair. As the tide came in, the chairs had to be moved back a few times. They packed up around 7 PM and returned to their house. Approximately an hour later, Alicia realized her wedding rings were missing. Matt gave me a call and we planned to meet at low tide. I gridded the wet sand and did not get any signals, so I expanded the search up to the dry sand. After gridding the dry sand for some time, I finally got a signal and dug up one of the 3 bands. The next signal was another band, followed by the engagement ring that is extremely sentimental because the diamond is a family heirloom. Thankfully, the last band was nearby and recovered!

Lost 14k White Gold Cross and Chain Found Ventnor NJ by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Sheila contacted me today about her fiancé’s chain and cross that were accidentally left on the beach in Ventnor, NJ.  The surf was rough yesterday, so he decided to take it off before going into the ocean.  Forgetting that it was in the side pocket of the beach chair, the jewelry dropped into the sand when packing up. They didn’t realize it was missing until after they got home and were extremely upset because it is very sentimental.  I met with the couple on the beach and they gave me the approximate location where it could have been lost.  Something in the distance caught my eye as I was walking around detecting.  It glistened for a second, so I decided to walk toward it.  It turned out to be the edge of the cross peeking out of the sand! It’s a great feeling when you find what you’re looking for, but it’s extra special when you recover something so sentimental.

DIAMOND RING FOUND IN MORGAN COUNTY, INDIANA

  • from Muncie (Indiana, United States)

In January 2021, a man reached out to me and explained a very personal situation.  He and his wife had an argument and in his anger he threw his beloved wedding ring out into his front yard.  The moment he realized what he had done the regret set in and he began his search.  It was dark and he was unsure of where it went so he was unsuccessful in finding it that night.

The next morning he pulled out his metal detector, the same detector that he had used countless times in the past while on metal detecting adventures with his parents, but the same one that he had put away several years before after they passed away and he lost his interest.  He searched for hours with his machine, while his wife walked back and forth slowly looking by eyesight.  After spending most of that day searching they were still unable to find his ring.  Two months later and still unable to forget it, he decided he needed to ask for some help from above, so he prayed about it. Shortly after he had the idea to search for someone to assist and found The Ring Finders online.  He contacted me through text and then by telephone and we talked about what had happened.

I could tell by his voice how much the ring meant to him and how much he regretted doing what he did, and told him I would be happy to make the 2 hour trip to help him find it.  My girlfriend/search partner and I arrived the next day and after discussing how and the where, I began to focus my search towards the front of the yard, in a different location than they had been searching.  Judging by his throwing style, the location, and the force he said he used, I believed the ring to be a in a different spot.  I started my grid pattern through the front of his yard, but quickly decided to search a dried up creek bed in front of his house as in my eyes it was the perfect location for his flying ring to end up.  While searching the creek I heard a signal, but the target was too deep underground to be his ring so I moved on.  The very next target I heard through my headphones was a beautiful, solid sounding tone that immediately made my ears perk up.  I bent down to look for what I had already suspected was his ring, and when I uncovered the leaves, there it was, a beautiful yellow and white gold ring with several diamonds, covered in dirt and muck but still as beautiful as ever.

I sent him a message asking him to come outside because I had another question.  When he came outside I tried to throw him off by asking questions such as how far he thinks he could have thrown it, and where else he thinks it could be.  I then pointed out the flag that I had put in place of the ring.  I asked him, “Do you see that flag? That’s how far you got it.”  Confused, he looks at me and says, “What do you mean?”   I tell him, “That’s how far you got your ring. Want to know how I know that?” as I pulled out the ring and put it in his hand.  The same ring that he threw into his yard out of anger two months prior that suddenly appeared in a stranger’s hand who he had only met a few hours prior.   The relief was instant for him.  He took off his hat, took a deep breath, wiped away a few tears and shook my hand, telling me he never thought I was going to find it and that he was hesitant to ask a stranger to look for his ring, but at that point he had nothing else to lose.  He went inside to get his wife while I gathered my gear.

I took some pictures of the ring and we talked to them for awhile afterwards learning about the home repairs he was working on and his detecting adventures with his parents. He then went inside only to return shortly afterwards.  He walked right over to me and handed me his metal detector.   The same one he had used to search for his ring, and the same one that he had used with his parents before they passed away.  I told him that I could not accept it, as it must mean something to him and that he could still use it for something in the future.  He told me it was meaningful, but said that he does not use it enough and would be honored for me to use it on a future search to help someone else like I helped him.  I was honored to receive it.   And it was one of the most meaningful gifts that I have ever received.

Found Ring in yard.

Another happy client!

Surprising him with his ring that had been lost for 2 months!

Ocean City NJ Lost Gold West Point Class Ring Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Lost a ring?

Don’t wait to call!

215-850-0188

I received a call on Wednesday night about Matt’s West Point class ring. His ring slipped off his finger while he was playing with his children in the ocean. I met him and his wife on the beach in Ocean City, NJ at low tide to start the search. I gridded the ocean, eventually gridding up to chest-deep water in an area with swimmers, Boogie Boarders and breaking waves. After almost an hour without a signal, I finally heard the tone I was waiting for…the tone of the gold ring. I dropped the scoop in the sand and was able to pull it up on the first attempt.

Thank you Matt for your service!

Amanda dropped her iPhone in the sand while at the Barefoot Country Music Fest this past weekend in Wildwood, New Jersey. I met Amanda on the beach today to look for her phone that also has a card holder attached to the back with her ID and credit card inside. After approximately 30 minutes of searching, the phone and cards were found! Even though the phone was damaged, the SIM card and other cards are intact and safely back in her possession.
