When Steve reached out to me this afternoon, little did I know I was about to embark on a heartwarming journey of friendship and ring recovery. Steve had been enjoying a game of frisbee golf at Chapparal Park in Oak Park when his wedding ring slipped off his finger, marking the second time it had been lost that day. But there was more to Steve’s story than just a misplaced ring.

As we conversed, I learned of Steve’s selflessness and compassion. Despite residing in Northern Virginia, he frequently traveled back to Oak Park to support a friend battling cancer, putting others’ needs before his own. Steve’s generosity and kindness truly stood out in a world often devoid of such acts.

Upon arriving at the park, Steve guided me to the area where he believed the ring had been lost. Despite detecting numerous targets, the ring remained elusive. However, just as we were about to expand our search, Steve exclaimed, “There’s my ring!” Sometimes, a little faith and camaraderie are all it takes to reunite a lost item with its owner.

2 Lost Rings – Fort Walton Beach, FL – FOUND!!!

This past weekend I got a call from Brad and his wife Sky from Louisiana. They were in Fort Walton for a Volleyball tournament. What started out as some fun and exercise in the nice weather quickly turned into a fiasco when Sky realized that not one but both of her rings were missing. She had taken her engagement ring and her wedding ring off and tucked them into her swimsuit for safekeeping. Somewhere during the course of the day she realized they were gone and that’s where I came in. They had actually left me a message the day before while I was out finding the ring for the newlyweds in Orange Beach in my last story. I sent Brad and Sky a text once I was done and offered my services.  Luckily they reached back out the next day. Brad did what a lot of people do and he went to Bass Pro Shops to buy one of their metal detectors. Unfortunately he quickly learned that the average detector will simply not work right on a saltwater beach. I got some information from them and I decided to ask my Father-in-law, Tom to join me as he has been getting into detecting. I am glad that I did! 😃  When we got there I quickly gridded out the outer edge of where I thought the rings might be based on the couple’s info. I asked Tom if he would start going around the outer areas just in case the rings weren’t where we thought they should be. It would also be a good opportunity for him to get some experience with a detector in the sand. We were out there for a long time and had to take a break and get some water. We weren’t giving up though and we headed back down to resume our search. Before too much longer, Tom waved to me to get my attention and I came over to see that Tom had found his first ring!!!  Low and behold it just so happened to be Sky’s diamond wedding band. 😃I am so glad that he joined me because I was then able to adjust my search based on what Brad had said earlier and after another 20 mins I found Sky’s engagement ring! 💍👍. What a great day, I got to experience my Father-in-law’s first ring recovery and return two precious rings back to a beautiful young couple. 😃Congratulations all around!

Lost Man’s White Gold Wedding Ring in Galloway, OH. “FOUND”

I received an email about a man’s white gold wedding ring lost somewhere around the house. He was doing some basic yard work to include added dirt, mulch and moving some rocks. He was working in the front yard as well in the back yard. I started my search in the front yard searching through the flower bed. Then to the path taken around the house to the back yard, still no ring. Then continue to the back yard with search through the grass and dirt pile. As we were discussing which area to search next, then I got a good hit. By using my pro pointer to move the mulch and soil, the ring pop right out. He was very happy to have the ring returned to him.

Lost Ring Found in Iowa City on St. Patricks Day

I got a call on St. Patrick Day morning about a lost ring from the night before. Charles was at a friends house in the backyard. He went to throw something towards the trees and his ring flew off.

So I arrived at 10:00 at his friend Brie’s house, unfortunately Charles couldn’t be there due to work. We had got a dusting of snow overnight so the ground was covered. She showed me the location where he was standing the night before.

I got my equipment together and was adjusting my detector as I was walking toward the area I was going to grid, when I got a very good shallow signal. Sure enough it was the ring. I was surprised when I pulled it out of the snow because I didn’t know it had so many stones on it or that it was so big.

Everybody involved was very happy that it was found. We all had a little Irish luck on this St. Patrick’s Day!

After a long three weeks of brutal – 30 Celsius weather, yesterday the temperature rose to -4 Celsius and people took advantage of it.   Stuart called me requesting my service to locate his ring which he lost while on a toboggan hill.  Stuart told me he had raked the area where he believed  the ring was lost and that he also had the kids looking but had had no luck.

Stuart called me to say he would be late so I went ahead and checked the hill. The hill was covered with footprints  but I walked  to where Stuart had raked and that’s where I found his ring.  Stuart arrived within ten minutes and as usual I asked a lot of question.  Stuart began telling me how his hill experience started and said the ring could be anywhere on the hill. I pulled the ring from my pocket and asked him if this was his ring.  He was lost for words and could not believe I had found it so quickly – another happy client.

Lost Men’s Gold Wedding ring FOUND !!!! Airway Heights ,WA

As my Sunday was winding down; a newlywed couple, Clint and Samantha were frantically looking for Clint’s lost wedding ring. The newlyweds had just returned from a two week honeymoon. Normally returning to the extended stay parking lot at the Hampton Inn would be effortless. However, while Clint and Samantha were vacationing the snow came down, over 40 inches of the stuff. Needless to say their car was buried in snow. So the deadly concoction of cold wet snow and bare hands made a newlyweds ring fly into oblivion. A call to Samantha’s sister brought up the Ring Finders and my contact info. and the search was on. I scanned the spot where the car sat and around where the snow from the car had been tossed. The parking lot they were in was full so I was doing my best to not get a false signal from the Ford F 250 and a Toyota. Digging out the snow around the other cars didn’t produce the ring. Looking in the cracks of the newlyweds car didn’t produce the ring. Scanning every thing one more time also didn’t produce Clint’s ring. I even looked under the Ford and Toyota with a light. This all was a means to and end, because I had my trx pinpointer and was not going to give up. So by process of elimination I pinpointed around each tire of both of the other cars. Just behind the Toyota passenger tire, my pinpointer went off. Clint’s wedding ring was Found Finally. The crazy thing was I had already removed the light snow around that tire and the ring melted its way into the harder snow that had been there a while. Warm rings that fall in snow like to sink as fast as a hot knife through butter. Thank you Clint and Samantha for trusting in the Ring Finders and May your marriage always have a special place in your hearts and may you both have the desire to discover loves true gifts.

Lost Cell Phone… Found in Iowa City, Iowa

We’ve been getting some snow here almost every day for a week and people are starting to lose things in it. I received a call from Zac about his lost cell phone. His friend Amy posted on her face book page about me finding her keys and so he thought he would give me a try to help find his phone.

We met on Jan. 25th in the afternoon at the park where he lost it. He had been sledding and playing in the snow when it was lost. He said he did an online search and the phone showed up in the park until the battery died.

We walked out in the snow to an area he thought we should start at. The second signal was his phone buried in the snow. He was very happy to have his phone back.

Lost Keys… Found in Iowa City, Iowa

A woman named Amy contacted me about her lost keys. They were lost in her alley area after she helped a neighbor get his car unstuck from the snow. She thought they may have fallen out of her coat pocket when they were shoveling snow or pushing the car.

I arranged to meet her on Jan. 25th in the morning. When I arrived she showed me the area where she thought they could be. I started the search on one corner of the area and almost immediately got a decent signal.

After moving five inches of snow there they were! Thanks Amy for posting on your face book page because I was able to help a friend of yours recover his cell phone that same day.

LOST ENGAGEMENT RING IN BREAUX BRIDGE, LA. – FOUND

After Brennon and Alyssa rode their 4 wheeler along the muddy trails, they decided to call it a day. They parked at the area used to wash off the four wheelers and themselves. While washing her hands with a hose, Alyssa felt her engagement ring slip off her finger. They and other riders hunted for it from 8 PM till midnight with no success. The next morning they returned with a newly purchased metal detector to continue the hunt. After finding only foil, pennies and pop tops, Brennon looked at a YouTube video for hunting hints. He saw a “The Ring Finders” decal on a car in the video and went to our website. We got the call from Brennon on Sunday morning. Carrie and I were able to load our equipment and be on site in 1 ½ hours. The hunt area was relatively small but had quite a lot of trash. It was hard bottom with dead matted grass covered by 2 to 4 inches of mud. After 20 minutes of getting everything, including us, covered in mud, Carrie found the ring, tangled in the grass, under the mud. After some happy tears and pictures (and washing off mud from us and our equipment) we were heading home feeling great after reuniting Alyssa with her beautiful ring.
