Lost Engagement Ring Found In The Bay At Ocean City, Maryland

On 08/21/16, I received a call from Tom requesting my help in locating an engagement ring that had been lost in the waters of the bay in Ocean City, Maryland. I learned that Tom and Michelle had been engaged on 08/12/16 and while visiting the Ocean City, Maryland area the ring had been lost in the bay on 08/20/16 at 6:30 pm. Tom and Michelle had ridden a jet ski from the residence that they were staying at over to a local restaurant, while sitting on the jet ski Michelle decided to place her engagement on her necklace chain for safe keeping. Before Michelle could get the ring on her necklace chain it slipped out of her hand and fell into the water. Tom made arraignments with the local restaurant to allow me to search for the ring on 08/22/16 at 7:00 am as the ring had been lost in the water just off of the beach of the restaurant. Upon arriving at the search location, Tom and Michelle took me to the area where the ring had been lost. The ring had been lost in about two feet of dark murky water right in the area where  jet skis had been docked. After Tom pointed out the area of the lost ring I placed four markers in an area measuring about six feet by six feet. In that area I recovered four beverage pull tabs, during a search I dig all targets just in case. I also showed Tom and Michelle all four tabs as I recovered each one. I then started to work the area of deeper water away from the beach at which time Tom told me that he felt the that ring had been lost closer to the beach. I adjusted my search at which time I began to search the outside area of where I had placed the first marker. Just as I began to search next to the first marker the sound that I was waiting for came through my headset. I then recovered the ring and as I pulled it out of my sand scoop I revealed the prize to Tom and Michelle who were truly grateful for the return of the ring. Congratulations to Tom and Michelle on their engagement. seecrets-oc-md.

Lost ring at Coronado found

Laura was at the beach with friends and lost her wedding ring. She had taken off all her jewelry and had placed them in her bag. Through the course of the day she removed items from the bag and the ring must have accidentally come out with them. At one point, the blanket was dragged 30 feet downwind to get a good shaking to remove the accumulated sand. Once she realized that her ring wasn’t in the bag anymore, the search was on. Soft sand and fairly large possible search area = no success. One of her friends went online seeking help and TheRingFinders.com popped up. I got the call and gathered my gear for hopefully a quick search. I’d been out all morning detecting in the 100 degree heat, so, I was hoping for an easy one. After gathering all the info I could, I had them move a bit of their gear so I could start my grid. After a quarter and a few pieces of scrap metal, I got a low tone right at the edge of the supposed search area. After the sand drained out of my scoop, I see a nice diamond ring matching her description. Cheers go up as everyone realized that it had been found along with a couple of heartfelt hugs. Ring lost in Carmel Valley, Found

Greg called me asking for help finding his wedding ring in the backyard pool area of a friend’s home. He had been playing pool volleyball, when he lost his ring sometime during the fun. When he got out of the water, he noticed his naked finger, and started a search. They dove back in the pool and scanned the bottom, checked the filter, and combed the surrounding area…..even that night with a powerful light, hoping to catch a glint of sparkle from one of the stones in the band. No luck, so, Greg found me online and arranged to meet me at the friend’s house. When I arrived, we discussed the events leading up to the present, and I started my search while they went and rechecked the pool filter one more time. I started my search at one end of the yard beyond the west end of the pool. Not 2 minutes later, I found the ring on the first signal. It was just 6 inches from the fence in some sand. Those are the ones we like! Quick and drama free! Good thing, as some of the yard would have been a challenge with rocks, bushes and other landscaping that would have been a lot harder to search. Platinum wedding band lost at Coronado, Found

John and his family were visiting from Las Vegas and enjoying the beach at Coronado when John lost his ring out in the surf. No way to visually find it once it hits the bottom and gets covered by sand. They saw a a couple metal detecting nearby and ask for their help, but, the ring still couldn’t be found. When I got the call for help from John’s wife Angela, I was planning another ring search at a nearby beach, so, I added John’s to my to-do list. They had already returned home, so, I  asked Angela to send me a map of the search area and a pin poked into the most likely spot. The next decent low tide was about 4am. I started with my first ring search (actually my third attempt for this ring) and after that turned out to be unsuccessful, I headed to Coronado to give that one a try. Armed with my map and a verbal description of the search area, I hunted for about and hour when I got a good signal at dead low in ankle deep water. Sure enough, after verifying the description, it was John’s ring. I sent a text to Angela who arranged for the ring to be shipped home to them. She didn’t tell John that it was found, but, instead, surprised him the following Friday night by handing him a present. When he opened it, he couldn’t believe what he saw! It was all caught on camera, so, I’ll try to figure out how to attach the video. For now, here’s a photo of the ring and of a very happy family. Lost ring found at The Silver Strand State Beach

Emily left a message on my answer machine, my voice mail, e-mail, and texted my phone about her engagement ring lost in the sand at the Silver Strand. I figured she must want it back! 🙂 We made arrangements to meet at the scene in a couple of hours so they could show me the search area. When I arrived, I got the story on how it was lost. She had caught a football and the ring popped off her finger. She immediately dropped to her knees and started sifting through the sand, but, couldn’t find it. She was joined by the rest of her group, but, the same result….no ring. Now, several days later, my concern was that someone else might have found it. There is a campground at the other end of the beach and many campers like to detect too. The good part was that they were in a less used area in front of the parking lot normally closed off during the week. She remembered where she was when she caught the ball, so, I started there and spiraled out from that point. I was finding a few good coin targets, so, I figured that nobody had beat me to the spot and gridded the area. After almost and hour and many promising foil targets, I got another weak foil signal and a couple of scoops later, saw a beautiful white gold engagement ring in my scoop. Needless to say, Emily was overjoyed to get it back and amazed that I found it, and that it was so far from where she had caught the ball.  That’s the way the ring bounces sometimes! Received a call from Daniel yesterday afternoon asking if I could help him find his lost gold wedding band which he lost on Saturday while playing soccer with friends,  meet Daniel at the park and he showed me the location where he and his friends searched for the ring for a few hrs with no luck. After searching the area  and a couple of more area which Daniel  thought the ring could have fallen off, I backed up and thought for a minute and looked at the first original area and asking questions also by just watching Daniels body language I said to my self that the ring Has to be near by. I expanded the search area from the original spot, after 2.5 hrs searching the area  I found his Ring 30 feet from the original spot , Just goes to show if you can’t find the ring at that area expand the search area. Flight of the 111 Ring…Lost, Found and Returned in Dennis, MA

Early Contact Makes for Best Chances in Lost Ring being Found and Returned, Cape Cod.

A little football in the water seemed like just the thing to start an evening off with. Splish Splash His Ring Took a Bath. And All the Kings Men Could Not Find the Ring again. By chance Patrick read about TheRingFinders.com and contacted me. I made arrangements with a B&B owner to park in his lot and search his beach at a time that would not interfere with his guests. The next morning was set.
Again with a wealth of knowledge as to the area to search it took me only 45 minutes to find the ring.
The B&B owner was made a believer and now has my name and phone number handy should any of his guests need my help. Some inscriptions just need to be explained. Inside this ring was the number 111, which turned out to be the flight number Patrick met his wife on.
The ring’s return took a bit of doing as I was leaving on a weeks vacation and Patrick’s work schedule
just did not allow him to make a trip to Dennis, Ma in the next couple of weeks. The solution was to mail the ring. I have mailed several rings and never had a problem. This time a Tracking ALERT showed his address did not exist and the package was being forward to another town. Monday morning came and a call to the USPS confirmed a computer glitch and the package was to be delivered in that day’s mail. And it was. Just think were we would be without computers. NO METAL DETECTORS?

Lost Ring Yarmouth, MA Leaves Man at Rope’s End

Out for an early morning walk Devin came across a rope swing hanging over a pond. He climbed the tree to reach for the rope and his wedding band, just 362 days old fell from his finger. My search of the never before seen area with heavy brush cover yielded only one target, a silver quarter. Now knowing the area, I call Devin for a bit more information on the ring’s loss. I traded in my Big Foot Coil for a Sniper coil and went back for a second search. I also carried along a ring with an orange tail tied to it. I climbed the tree, dropped the ring and started the search in the area of the dropped ring. Within 6” my detector emitted a golden signal. I bent, moved brush and dirt away…no ring. I still had the signal so more dirt was mover, and with no ring in sight I put my finger under a tree root, removed dirt and the ring. Unfortunately, I found the ring on the 366th day, it was not in its’ proper place on its’ first anniversary. Still the anniversary was a success and the ring is now back where it belongs. Happy days to follow and many more smiles will surely be in Devin and Brenna’s future.

Ring found and returned at Marine St. in La Jolla

Kim was visiting San Diego from Hawaii with her husband, and was spending a day at the beach. She had removed her rings to clean the sand from their settings. Forgetting that she had removed them, she shook the sand out of her blanket and the rings along with it. She managed to find the wedding band, but, the engagement ring was eluding capture with only sifting fingers as a tool. She got on her phone and Googled for help. My profile came up for San Diego and she gave me a call. She hadn’t left the area, so, I figured this should be a fairly quick search. The hard part was battling the traffic and parking! I lucked into a spot fairly close to her location and gave her a text on the way to the sand. Since Kim and her husband were leaving for home the next day, this had to be found now! She met me on the beach and guided me to the search area. 30 seconds later, I got a beautiful 12-03 on my E-trac and pulled her gorgeous engagement ring from over 5 inches down. A pleasure to meet you Kim, thank you for the reward, and thank your husband for his service.

Ring lost at Mission Bay found!

Amy and family were visiting San Diego from Missouri and enjoying a day at the beach, when, her ring was accidentally flung into the sand from their blanket. they combed through the dry sand with their fingers for quite some time before they realized they needed some help. After a search on the internet, I got the call and headed out. I met them at the location and began a grid. Luckily, they kept watch on the area, so, there was no chance someone else could have found it. Well, it wasn’t found in record time, but, it was close…..took maybe 15 seconds and was at the edge of the designated search area! A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.
