I was relaxing Saturday morning after a couple of unsuccessful searches the previous two days including a wedding band in a sewer line trench and an old septic tank cap on a wooded lot. My wife showed me a story from the local Dunedin Discussions Facebook group where a member named Debbie posted about her daughter losing a silver ring on the Dunedin Causeway beach the previous day. I also received a pm from another member of the group letting me know about the loss. I immediately posted and sent a pm to Debbie informing her of my services. Because Debbie had given a somewhat detailed description of the loss location on her post, I decided to drive immediately to the location to begin a search before other metal detectorists might scan the area. Not long after I began my search, I received a map pin of the precise location as well as a perspective photo of several family members metal detecting the loss area the previous evening. I worked my way to the given location and searched for a couple of hours. I knew I was searching in the right location as it was confirmed by Donald Murphy (“Murph”, pictured below) as he had seen the family searching the previous evening and he was back at this same spot the next day. I was able to dig a dozen quarters and a half dozen dimes but no silver ring. I went home for a break and returned several hours later at low tide. By that time, the receding tide exposed some tire tracks where Murph said the family was searching the day before. After about an hour, my Equinox registered a strong silver signal (29) at 2 to 4 inches and I dug the silver Gucci ring out of the wet sand with my scoop. I showed it to Murph and he was as excited as the owner was going to be. After I contacted Debbie with the good news, I met her daughter Opal and boyfriend James to make the return. Opal said she lost it while throwing a ball and it was a special ring given to her by her brother. Thanks to all for trusting me to look for your precious ring and thank you for the generous reward! Sapphire and diamond arthritic wedding ring returned! TRF Celina, Ohio

Debbie lost her beautiful, custom Sapphire and diamond arthritic wedding ring while working in her flower bed and yard near Indian Lake(4/26). She was absolutely devastated losing this custom piece. Along with her husband Danny, they both tried looking for it for a couple of days. They checked yard clippings, the trash, Danny even purchased a metal detector himself to try and locate the ring with no luck.

Danny contacted me (4/28) and explained the situation to me in the hopes that I could help. We made plans to meet up Saturday afternoon (5/1).

I arrived at their home where Danny related the story of what had happened that day once again while I looked things over a bit. After the information he had given me, not even 3 minutes into the search Debbie’s Sapphire and diamond arthritic wedding band had been recovered!

After a quick photo of the Ring, it was turned over to Danny so he could place it back on Debbie’s hand once again. Debbie and Danny both did an excellent job of remembering details and putting me right into the hotspot of the search area. That’s why this ring was recovered so quickly. I’m very happy to see another happy ending and another great story continuing with a beautiful piece such as this! Bonus is that my wife and I got to meet some extremely nice people. Great new friends and a happy ending!

Gold wedding band found quickly in garden

Received a text that Logan had lost his wedding band while preparing his garden for the season. He lost it a few weeks before finding the The ringfinder service online. He told me he was delaying anymore work on the garden until I could search for his ring. We had to wait another week before our schedules aligned to search. He showed me the general area he lost it while throwing rocks from the garden. While he went to the house to get something, I began searching and found the ring in under five minutes. I met my customer . he said that he was waving his hand to one of his friends and his ring flew off. he was saying that it flew about 20 feet. but after searching for a while there I asked more questions. I found that it must not have gone that far. so I reexamined the area closer. I   was only getting a target that sounded like a penny.  but guess what after checking the target out .. it was his ring. he was very happy. and left me this beautiful testimonial.

Ring thrown in lake, Kissimmee, Fl….Found and Returned to Owner!

Antwan and his dear fiance were having a bit of a rough time and out of frustration and anger he grabbed her engagement ring, walked out behind his house and stood on the edge of the lake contemplating what to do next. Some times common sense and good judgement prevail and other times a lack of good sense and angry feelings overwhelm the person and the dreaded throw takes place. And it didn’t take long for the regret and the old feeling of “What in the world did I just do?” to hit him square between the eyes—figuratively speaking!

He realized there was absolutely no way for him to retrieve the thrown ring so he went on line to look for someone who could possibly help him. And to his amazement he came across theringfinders.com. After reading some of the stories Antwan decided to give me a call and I agreed to meet him and do a search. Antwan said the water was only two or three feet deep so I went prepared to wade but after entering the water it was obviously allot deeper the further out I walked. I spent three hours digging cans and fishing lures along the shore and even went out up to my neck but I was not able to find his lost ring. I could tell Antwan was rather sad and I purposed to try again another day. So the following week I returned with my scuba gear and PVC grid frame and began a systematic search out into deeper water. My grid frame is 5 foot by 20 foot and that allows me to effectively search an 11 by 26 foot area very thoroughly and effectively. Two and a half hours into my search I got a loud large signal reading on my Pulse Dive with the 6 inch coil and I dug down 8 inches or so and still could not find the target so I continued on. I surfaced and moved my grid frame over 25 feet and continued my search. Going up the left side I reached the end of the grid in approximately 8 foot of water and got that same signal. I could tell it was the same target as I could feel the hole I had dug a few minutes earlier. As I continued sweeping the small coil across the muddy bottom I instantly got a sharp, small signal and digging my fingers into the mud I felt a small heavy object which was exactly what I was looking for! I immediately thanked my God for helping me find Antwan’s lost ring and calmly made my way to the surface. Five minutes later I rang the door bell and presented Antwan with his special ring! What a joy to see the relief and joy on his face and he was amazed at how beautiful his fiance’s ring actually was.

What an amazing experience and privilege it is to reunite someone with something so precious and sentimental! And it was truly an honor to help this hurting young man.

I received a call from a gentleman that had lost his ring out of his workout shorts pocket while doing his morning workout with his wife. He took me to the spot he and his wife had been laying on their backs and doing exercise and within 5 mins I found his lost platinum ring.

Lost silver bracelet in sand, Sanford, Fl….Found with metal detector!

Dev was enjoying a relaxing morning playing volleyball with his family and friends and when the time came to pack it up and head home he noticed that his large silver bracelet was not on his wrist. This bracelet was a special gift from his friends as a present for his birthday a couple of years ago. And he wears it all the time and could not believe that somehow it had come off. He and his family searched diligently through the sand hoping to find it and after a while they realized it had just disappeared. But Dev refused to give up and finally looked on line and entered “Bracelet Finder using a Metal Detector” and up came theringfinders.com. A quick search in the “Directory” showed I was located right here in Sanford, Fl. and he gave me a call.

I was just sitting down to lunch with my family so I assured Dev I could come out after we finished eating and if his lost silver bracelet was there in the sand I could find it for him and not to worry. Two hours later I met Dev and he showed me the sand volleyball court where they had spent the morning playing. He explained that they had switched sides after each game so the odds were even that it could be on either half. It took me about 10 minutes to cover the whole court and then I began searching around the outside along the out-of-bounds line. I found a few pieces of foil here and there and then the first strong promising signal turned out to be an old matchbox car and then not five feet away another strong signal. Slowly I brushed the sand away hoping to reveal what sounded like a large silver item and sure enough…there was Dev’s lost silver bracelet! Dev was so glad to have his special gift back in his possession. (The clasp had worked its way open and it was obvious what had caused it to fall off and into the sand!).

Lost Diamond Ring in Orange Beach, AL – FOUND!!!

Felicia and Scott have been down from Tennessee enjoying this beautiful Orange Beach weather. The first day here Scott got a little sunburned so the next day Felicia was being extra careful to put plenty of sunscreen on the little ones. Like a lot of people, she took her ring off so she wouldn’t get it too greasy and she slipped it into her swimsuit thinking it would only be there for a second or two. Sure enough, moments later she had forgotten all about the ring as she rushed into the gulf to play with the kids in the waves. A few hours later as they were walking to their car, she noticed it was gone and that’s when panic ensued. You can imagine the frantic search that followed and understand why she got up at the crack of dawn to go comb the beach the following morning. Luckily for her there was a nice man that saw her looking and suggested the Ringfinders service. She was quickly searching on the internet and before she knew it she had my name and phone number. When she called and told me everything I knew that it was most likely in the water. I told them I was on the way. When I got there it was pretty crowded but they had a very good idea where they had gone into the Gulf. I explained that I would go back and forth in a grid pattern to make sure I covered everything but not to worry if it took a little while. I saw them both looking anxiously on as I dug a couple of coins shaking my head that no, that wasn’t it. Then I got the tone I wanted to hear and I very gently took a deeper scoop so I wouldn’t scratch anything. As the sand rushed out of my scoop I saw the telltale glint of gold and diamonds. I turned and smiled and gave them a nod and Felicia came rushing to meet me at the water’s edge. Now Scott and Felicia have been together since the eighth grade so I knew she was going to be excited but I have to say that Felicia wins for loudest, most excited shouts of joy ever. She screamed for joy so long that several people asked if we had gotten engaged. 😃. Gotta love it, that’s why I do what I do. This is a beautiful ring and I’m glad I could return it to such a beautiful couple. Congrats Scott and Felicia. God Bless!

Lost Gold Locket in Grandview Heights, OH. “FOUND”

I received a call about her lost daughter’s locket. The necklace was found but the locket was lost somewhere throughout the yard during an Easter egg hunt. After performing a search through the yard the locket was found, she was very happy to have the locket returned. It is a special locket since her daughter only wears the locket during Christmas and Easter time.
