Sand Volleyball Courts Swallow Rings

Received a call from a young man on the volleyball courts. Everybody was looking, without success, for the ring he had just lost. Luck  had it that I was 10 minutes away with all my equipment already inside my vehicle. Outside of the pepper spray incident, we were able to, in a matter of minutes,  locate his grandmother’s ring after the clasp of the necklace he hung it on broke.   He was overjoyed to have the ring his grandmother gave him before he left for Canada back.

Garage Sale at the Golf Course

Dave called me. His golf bag obeyed the law of gravity and headed downhill for the nearest pond. When he was able to fish it out, there were many items missing. Several of which would make his life miserable for a while if not found.

Kelly messaged me through my Dunedin Ring Finder page after someone referred me from a local discussion page called Palm Harbor Happenings. Earlier that day she and her husband were throwing a football at the beach  when Kelly’s large gold ring given to her by her grandmother flew off her hand into the water. I met Kelly on site the following day at approximately the same tide time and she showed me the area fairly close to a rock breakwater where she thought the ring may have landed. At the time the water was knee to waist deep. I grid searched for a couple of hours while Kelly looked on but only recovered a few coins and some beach trash. Kelly had to go to work so I searched an hour longer but  no luck. I left the beach and returned at low tide later in the day but only recovered a few more coins, fishing weights and a costume jewelry earring. After a long day of searching including around the breakwater, I told Kelly I would return the next day and retrace my steps in the area she had initially pointed out. Late the next afternoon I had been searching for about an hour when I got a steady 9 VDI on the Equinox 600. After a couple of scoops I pulled Kelly’s beautiful ring out of the water! She was ecstatic (followed by seven exclamation points)! I returned this beautiful ring to her the next morning. Kelly, thank you for contacting me and trusting the Dunedin Ring Finder to return your grandmother’s ring to you. And thank you for the generous reward!

Lost ring in Lake Conway, Orlando, Fl….Found!

Rocco was enjoying the afternoon boating and swimming on Lake Conway with friends when he realized his special designed gold and diamond ring was no longer on his finger. Very few rings match the unique design with so many stunning diamonds and the sheer weight of the ring is very impressive! And it was a couple of factors that caused the ring to disappear into the sandy lake bottom. The first thing was the coolness of the water! As most people know there is shrinking in our hands and fingers when we expose them to cool or cold water. The second thing is activity of some kind! Rocco and his friends were horse playing around and that sort of thing has caused many a ring to end up lost and never to be found again. The third thing was the sheer weight of the ring! A mere flip of his hand in cool, wet water would have been enough to send his ring flying. So when Rocco realized his ring had come off he knew right away who he needed to call. Theringfinders.com! You see…this is not the first time Rocco had lost his ring! In 2020 Rocco was shocked when he felt his ring go flying into the darkness when he threw open the lid on the dumpster behind his apartment. Thankfully he go in touch with me and I was able to find his stunning ring hiding under a large bush. But this time it was in the water…in the middle of a lake! I encouraged Rocco to drop a full can of soda or beer or an anchor, or water bottle…anything that could mark the exact spot. Also if there was a way to tie a floatation device of some kind that would help make it easier to locate. Unfortunately they left a buoy tied to an anchor and someone later that evening came along and pulled it up. As the sun was rising the next morning I was paddling out onto the lake straining my eyes to find that buoy and it was nowhere in sight! Fortunately the water over the sand bar was crystal clear and I could easily see the bottom. So I decided to paddle all across the sandbar, gridding my way looking for anything that would indicate where the anchor was left. After an hour of going back and forth I did find a few items on the bottom. A red cup, a face mask and pieces of paper here and there….and then I spotted a water bottle laying on the bottom. It looked like an older bottle and at first I did not think it had anything to do with the ring…but it was the only water bottle I saw during my search. I finally decided to mark the bottle with one of my pvc poles and later came back to it and put out 4 pvc poles in a square around the bottle. I jumped into the water and started grid searching back and forth between the poles. My first pass netted me a bottle cap and a pull tab and as I turned to make a second pass I got a clear signal and BOOM! There was Rocco’s beautiful ring…sparkling and shining in the morning sun and I thanked God for allowing me to find his lost ring so soon! You talk about being amazed and thankful…I was one very happy Ring Finder!

Lost wedding band in the surf, Beach Haven NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

I was contacted by Nicole about her husbands lost wedding band. She explained they had removed the ring, and while handing to her , It dropped into the surf. After gathering all pertinent information, I went to recover it on the next low tide. Unfortunately after about an hour or so I came up empty handed. I knew this ring wouldn’t stay long in the surf so I went early the next morning for low tide. After about 20 minutes the ring was in the scoop.

West Dennis Beach, MA – Gives Back Lost Silver Ring

Andrea lost her Wave, Sand and Sea ring while walking the shoreline. For six years the ring had brought Andrea many calming and wondrous thoughts of Cape Cod and its beaches. The loss had happened in the presence of her sister who had lost an earring a few years ago but had forgotten who and how to contact for help. She did called a mutual friend who contacted me. I called and set up a meet to search for the lost ring.

Both women marked the area that the ring was lost at the previous day. Seaweed made it near impossible to swing a detector’s coil, but I managed only to finish the area with out finding the ring. I expanded the search area and within another five minutes I had found the ring.

All that was left to do in the fading sunlight was to snap a few pictures, get a bit of information for the blog, and exchange a few stories. It was a perfect ending to a very hot day on Cape Cod, another “Beautiful Place To Be”.

Lost and Found 14k engagement ring, Green Bay, WI

I received a call and message from Somer the afternoon of Saturday, October 30th, 2020 (Halloween mind you) sharing she lost her engagement ring in the front yard of her residence. She explained to me the night before friends were over for a social gathering. Somer mentioned she took her ring off to show one of her friends. The friend gave it back while Somer was getting her mail from the mailbox during the evening hours. She decided to put the ring on the mail instead of back on her finger. Well, the ring fell off the mail into the grass (so she strongly believed and thought!) Somer and her fiancé, Nate, spend a better part of the day on their hands and knees looking for ring without success. So, I took my trusty CTX 3030 and began swinging my machine with a small coil since there was a lot of targets in the yard and very close together. My first target rang up “gold” and on the surface…Somer was excited thinking and believing it was her ring…I did too…wrong!!…just under the eyesight of the grass, up popped a nickel. Both Somer and I were thoroughly disappointed. I continued detecting and digging anything that was noting on my machine 2” or less knowing and expecting a surface find. While I was doing my part searching the grass meticulously and the path Somer took from the mailbox to the garage, Nate was meandering on the road near the mailbox, he saw the ring near a manhole cover…right out in the open. None of us have any idea how the ring found its way from the mailbox on the street and not on the grass. Though, I did not find the ring directly, I’d like to believe I shared in the success of rescuing. Ring found and put back on Somer’s hand. She was ecstatic and was a team effort to find. This was a strange recovery! Alexia posted on a tictok video about loosing her ring at Va Beach and she got a reply to check out the gigmaster! When she went to my youtube channel the video had her lost ring in it! She now has her treasured ring back. Gigmaster on Youtube
