How to Find a Lost Ring in your Garden in Vancouver/Lower Mainland

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

It happens a lot…You’re out gardening in your back yard and after a long day working on your garden you come to realize that your wedding band or engagement ring is missing! It’s truly a horrible feeling! Where do you start looking? It could be buried in the garden or in a bag of leafs or it went over the fence when you threw away the weeds.

I have found many wedding bands and engagement rings over the years for people and the most important thing to do is… Don’t Throw Away the Bags of Yard Trimmings! That is the big mistake because  that’s where I find lots of the ring!

The next thing to do is go to… www.TheRingFinders.com   and find a metal detecting specialist in your area that can help you find what you thought was lost forever…

You Lost Your Ring in the Bathroom???

You Lost You Ring in the Bathroom???Lost Ring in the Bathroom????

We received an email from a gentleman named Les, he said that he was changing clothes in his apartment bathroom and when he went to pull his shirt over his head his wedding ring slipped off and hit the floor.  He said he actually heard it hit the floor.  He decided to finish dressing and then find the ring.  Mind you this is a very small apartment bathroom.

Les looked and looked for the ring, he and his wife checked everywhere.  They even had the maintenance men come and move their washer and dryer in the attached room to see if the ring was underneath.  Les lost his ring on his ONE MONTH wedding anniversary.  It has been 3 months since the ring went missing and he found “The Ring Finders” on the internet.  He lives literally 5 minutes from my home.

My wife, Ellen, and I arrived about 7pm not really believing we would have much luck.  Metal detectors are not of much use inside a home let alone a small apartment bathroom.  But Les was so nice and asked us to try so we agreed.  We took our Garrett Pinpointers and our Detection Camera Scope.  Upon seeing the size of the bathroom we knew it had to have bounced somewhere strange.

In looking at the bathroom we found a small open lip under the cabinet where the kick plate is. It was only a 1-1/2 inch opening that I could not even get my hand into, I got out my 3ft Detection Camera scope and worked it into the slot, nothing at first but on the second side, there in the dark glowing under the light from the camera scope was Les’s Platinum Wedding Band.   I said, ‘hey Les, take a look at my detection screen, is that your Ring?’  He was so excited, he and I had to break loose the baseboard under the sink in order to reach it.  He hollered for his wife, “they found It, they found it!”  Another successful hunt for “The Ring Finders”.

Ted’s Wedding Ring Found in 15 minutes

We got the call on Saturday evening,  Ted had been working on his home all day, cleaning the gutters, small repairs and such.  After a long day of satisfying of projects on his home he went in to clean up and shower,  that’s when he realized his wedding band was missing.  He panicked as we all would.  He and his wife looked extensively all over their yard around the home, both front and back yard.  He got the ladders back out to search the gutters, went through all the trash, all his clothes only to realize he still had NO RING.  He decided to see what services were available on the internet and found “The Ring Finders” website which directed him to my wife and I just 20 minutes away.  Ted called and explained the situation, I told him that we would be over after church on Sunday and not to worry.  We met up about 12:30 on Sunday, Ted showed us around the home.  My wife and I both geared up with our detectors and began the search, naturally beginning on one side of the home working our way around to its opposite side.  As I was going along the side of the home,  I intentionally turned with my detector  heading toward the neighbor’s water hose which was loosely coiled in the  side yard. (Knowing the ring could have gone that far due to the height of the gutter line.) My detector responded with a loud ping when it crossed over the water hose and though I thought it was strange, I knew a water hose would not have any type of metal in it, just at the end where the handle was.  I moved the hose and ran my detector over the area again and still received a loud ping.   I reached down using my Garrett pinpointer  and hit the target – the ring had been pushed down flush in the mud in the grass.  That moment of locating a lost item always puts such a great smile on my face.  I called out to my wife and said get the camera, I have found the ring.

Two Lost Gold Diamond Rings at Calve Barn in Mt. Sterling, OH “FOUND”

I received an email from a lady that lost both of her Gold Diamond Rings while helping her neighbor feed some calves. Some of the calves were sucking on her fingers as she feed the others. Before she lefted the barn, she realize that both her rings were missing. It was dark out and it would be impossible to look for both rings since there is straw and calve manure everywhere in the barn.

I came with my rubber boots and my metal detecting and started searching though the straw and calve manure. Found the five stoned gold ring within 15 minutes of searching. But the other bigger diamond ring was no where to be found after another hour of looking. I then switched to a smaller coil and moved some calve pins. There was the other ring, in the corner where the bigger coil could not get to. Her face lit up when she saw the other ring.

I received a call a young lady. She said she had lost her gold diamond pendant. It was given to her from her boyfriend. She said she had lost it while she was riding her horse. She had been jumping her horse in the outdoor area plus the inside one.She said it could be anywhere even the barn. I told her I would start on the out door arena around all the jumps first and grid the whole area. It was a very hot day about 30 degrees.I started finding lots of stuff but it was a lot of nails which I picked up so the horses wouldn’t pick them up. I hunted for about 3 hours about to give up and I thought I would give it about another half hour. Just about the last couple of minutes bam I found it.So I went the the indoor arena where she was teaching young riders. She came over ans asked if I found it I showed her all the metal and nails. She looked sad and said thanks for trying. Then I showed her the gold diamond  pendant  she screamed your my hero I’m so happy thank you so so much. Well another successful hunt and a very happy girl. Kevin Niefer Ring Finders Calgary Alberta

Lost gold wedding ring found, Big Turkey lake, Lagrange, Indiana

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

Last week I was contacted by Ringfinder, Greg Larabel from Michigan, in response to a craigslist ad that I had posted for SW Michigan lost/found rings/etc. After talking a bit, he asked if I could help with lost men’s wedding band in northern Indiana. I said sure thing, and was given the contact info for the party that lost his ring.

Barry, had lost his ring while working in the water, pulling out old wood pier posts at his lake house. The area was full of weeds and has a very mucky, marly bottom, a good 6 inches of muck. He had pulled out a lot of the weeds and actually took a heavy duty pump and attempted to pump out some of the muck in the area he had lost the gold ring that he has worn for 38 years now!

I was somewhat worried that with all the stepping around, pulling weeds and pumping out the muck that the ring may have been pushed down beyond the reach of my detector. Was also worried that the ring could have fallen down into the 3 ft deep holes left from when he pulled the old wood posts out of the lake bottom.

Well, I gave it a go this morning, set up my camera real quick, started out finding a few fishing sinkers, a couple ring looking pieces of cut-0ff aluminum pipe and an old beer can. After about 8 minutes, I had now covered about 85% of the search area and was thinking to myself “I need to hear something good here real soon….!”

Got a nice sounding tone, took a scoop of muck, broke it up with my fingers and gave it a good sloshing. Could hear something clunking around in the bottom of the scoop. Looked in the scoop and could see something nice and yellow in the bottom. There it was! Gave a quick thumbs up and headed to the pier to reunite the ring with it’s owner.

Thanks again Gregg,

Here is the email from Barry to Ringfinder Gregg:

Gregg,
As you may have heard through Ryan, he did find my ring. It took him less than 10-15 minutes. Unbelievable! He did a great job despite what he said were challenges with lead sinkers, a nearby metal dock, and miscellaneous metal parts from long ago. It was in the area I had already searched. I was absolutely ecstatic and couldn’t believe it. I didn’t know how to thank him. There are no words to convey my feelings. The ring had been on my finger for 38 years. When I lost it, it felt like a part of me was missing. I had trouble sleeping for two weeks.

I have not told my wife yet as I plan to take her out to a special dinner and surprise her with it.

Ryan, I cannot express my gratitude enough and I trust the compensation was just. I hope your feeling of helping people is truly rewarding.

Thank you! And thanks to TheRingFinders.com for leading me to both of you.

Lost gold ring found at Warren Dunes State Park, Berrien County, Michigan

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

Missy, friends and family were enjoying the nice day at the beach. When it was time to cool off in the water, she took her promise ring off and left it on her beach towel so she wouldn’t lose it in the water. Meanwhile, someone had lifted the towel to rid it of sand, sending the ring flying into the soft sand where it was quickly buried and lost.

As they were getting ready to leave, they noticed me out in the water with what they thought might be a metal detector. They asked if I could help them find the lost promise ring, missy described it in detail and I said I’d be happy to help. After a couple minutes searching, finding a few coins and bottle caps, I heard a very nice sounding target signal. I scooped up the target and there it was, the missing gold ring.  Big smiles all around!
