Night Search to Find Lost Engagement Ring in Doubtless Bay

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

I had just returned from an ongoing search for an elusive sentimental earring in the sea at Paihia and was sitting down to dinner when the phone rang.

It was Sally, and she had lost her engagement ring at Cable Bay earlier in the day. She was very concerned as they were due to finish their holiday the next morning and head south.

This time of year the beaches are popular hunting grounds for the summer ring ‘collectors’, and time was against us.  I said I’d head up straight away.

I arrived a few minutes before Sally, and on the last vestiges of twilight started hunting under the trees where I understood they had been seeking shade – Turned out I was at the wrong trees, which highlights why it is almost essential to have the person involved on site if at all possible.

Sally and her husband quickly put me onto the correct location, and what could have taken hours – or even a no-find, was over in a matter of minutes with the wayward ring quickly returned to the rightful hand.

They were most apologetic about dragging me away so late in the evening, and very thankful that I was able to drop everything to ensure a positive outcome.  “I can reheat my dinner, you couldn’t replace your ring…” 🙂

An hour later, I sat down to my dinner, again.

Lost Gold Engagement Ring Recovered In Gambrills Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I was initially contacted by Shenna well over a month ago. She left me a voicemail stating that she was certain she lost her ring in her back yard a few weeks prior and after visually searching for it several times, she was unable to locate it.  Unfortunately, I was in the hospital at the time recovering from an appendectomy with some complications. I replied to Shenna and informed her of my situation and long story short, she was willing to wait until I was fully recovered to make arrangements to locate her ring.

I’m happy to inform you that today was the day that we agreed upon for me to come out and attempt to locate her lost ring. Shenna showed me where she thought she might have lost it while working in her beautiful garden. Once our conversation was over, I quickly got to work and within less than 5 minutes! Can you see it there hiding in the grass/straw???

Needless to say, Shenna was both amazed and grateful that her engagement was finally back where it belongs! Look at that great smile! A perfect ending to the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Massive gold signet ring lost, recovered and returned in Wallingford, PA

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

John reached out to me after finding me in the Ring Finder directory. He was looking for help in finding his 60 year old gold signet ring that came up  missing at his Wallingford, PA home after a day raking leaves. After considering buying or renting a detector himself he decided to hire a pro instead. I met John at his home the next day and he shared the details of where he was working in his yard. After a quick demonstration of my machine to prove to him I would not miss his ring if I scan over it…I went to work. He thought the ring most likely fell off in the front yard…so I started my search there…no luck. Off to the back yard we went…still no luck. Ok…time to step up my game! Back to the front yard with an expanded search…BOOM! I got that glorious gold surface tone in my headphones…I look down and there was his beautiful, massive gold ring! I called out to John who was sitting nearby…I was so happy to see the big smile on his face when he saw his ring in my hand!

Bay Area Ring Finders Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

On Tuesday the 11th of October, Matthew text me with a request for my services.  His fiance had accidentally flung her engagement ring into some thick brush in their yard in Antioch, CA.  The two searched the brush and were 100% sure of the location in which it was lost.

Being on another search when I received the call and knowing that the location was secure and therefor the engagement ring was safe, I agreed to a search on Thursday afternoon.  Matthew was great about giving me all the information he could in advanced.  He, nor his fiance, would be available the day of the search.  His father was to be home at the location and would be my point of contact.  The father and I had a nice conversation while I pulled my equipment from the vehicle and got set up.  I turned on my metal detector while we were speaking, I had not performed a noise cancel, nor had I even turned on/put on my headset.  While talking I swung my detector back and forth over the ground near the brush.  I noted the unmistakable tone I new I’d be looking for and looked at the screen to confirm the 7-10 VDI.  I bent down, and Bob’s Your Uncle there was the ring very near where Matthew said it would be.  The whole search took 30 seconds and…We Made The Recovery!!! The ring now has a renewed life and great story for the happy couple.  I wish them great luck with their future!

Lydia was getting ready to return home to Virginia after visiting her grandmother Mary Jane and other family and friends in Avalon, NJ when she realized her engagement ring and wedding band weren’t on her finger. She was on the beach earlier in the day and forgot to put them back on before packing up. Mary Jane was referred to me by her friend Jen and called me shortly after they realized the rings were lost in the sand. I met them approximately 20 minutes later and started to search the area where they thought the rings might be. I had to expand the search out a little farther and found both a few minutes later! It was a emotional ending and great feeling to recover the sentimental rings.

Missing Engagement Ring in Columbia, Tennessee…FOUND!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Ring Finder for northern Alabama and southern/middle Tennessee…call or text ASAP, anytime 24/7…610-504-6135

On Thursday night (September 8th, 2022), I received a text message from Austin stating that his fiancé, Shannon, had lost her engagement ring earlier that day while she was outside of their home.  They had spent 4 hours searching with a cheap metal detector, but no luck.  They also tried looking in the dark with a flashlight.  I told Austin I’d be more than happy to help, and that I could come out the next day as soon as I got off from work.

I met Austin and Shannon at their home in Columbia, Tennessee on Friday around 4:30pm.  They explained that they checked their security cameras and were able to pinpoint when Shannon last had her ring on and when she first noticed it missing.  Shannon had gone over to the chicken coop, grabbed a bad egg, and threw it over their wire fence into the field.  She shook her hand because some yolk had gotten on it.  Next, she went and pulled some weeds from the garden, but she said she had noticed her ring was missing before she did that.

I began my search by where Shannon was standing when she threw the egg.  Next, I hopped the fence and began a grid search in the field.  This was challenging at times due to the height of the grass and weeds, so I had to press my detector down in certain spots.  When I felt like I had covered a decent area, I hopped back over the fence to check the bedding where the chicken egg was.  Still no ring.  Austin then showed me the video of the egg throw and I noticed that Shannon threw sideways towards the right side.  I hopped back over the fence and expanded my grid towards the right.  I continued searching until I felt like I had covered the area quite a ways.

We decided that I could come back out in the fall and recheck the field better when the grass was cut.  I told them that I wanted to check the garden in case Shannon had actually noticed the ring was missing after (not before) she had weeded.  Austin marked the path she had walked with my cones.  I walked down to the garden and searched one side of her path.  I then searched around the planter she was working in.  The grass was about 2-3 inches tall.  I just finished my lap around the planter when I received a solid tone that showed at a shallow depth on my Minelab Equinox 800.  This was the kind of signal that you just know it had to be the ring.  I bent down, parted the grass, and saw that golden circle beaming back up at me!  I looked up at Shannon with a big smile.  She said, “you found it!?”  I replied, “got it!”  Both Shannon and Austin were shocked because Shannon thought she noticed it missing before she pulled the weeds from the garden.  In fact, they didn’t even search that area because of that!  I explained that our minds will play tricks on us and can even change how events are played back in our heads.

Shannon and Austin were both so excited and relieved that her beautiful 14K yellow gold engagement ring was back on her finger where it belongs!!!  They were also so happy that they came across The Ring Finders Metal Detecting Service.  Shannon apologized that she had me looking in the wrong spot, but I told her that it was the most likely area and we needed to search that first.  In the end, all that matters to me is that the person gets their ring back no matter how long it takes to find it.  I’m so proud to be a member of this great service; please, tell your friends that it exists!  Looking forward to the next adventure…
