Lost Silver heirloom earring…Found in Hillyard Wa.

  • from Spokane (Washington, United States)

I think no matter what, when a Ring Finder hears of a lost piece of jewelry they receive an overwhelming feeling to jump in and help. Now place yourself in front of your mother and imagine she’s lost an inherited silver earring. In my mind mountains will move to recover what my mom lost. Luckily no mountains were involved just a really old house and the heater vent. After taking her earrings over to the hutch they have in their bathroom, a place she admitted she has never used to put on her jewelry. One of the blue opal silver earrings fell off the hutch and slipped effortlessly through the grates of the heater vent. So that’s where I began my search. I used my borescope to investigate the 90 degree bends of the duct work. When I spotted the earring I tried multiple attempts at grabbing it, sticking it with tape on a string and tape on a wire. All attempts failed at retrieving the earring but I did manage to collect a lot of lint and debris. I did not want to give up so Dad and I headed to the basement. I crawled into the crawl space and began to decipher the maze of ducting. Matching the orientation of the heater vent on the top side I disassembled the duct work to reveal mom’s earring. Now back to using the long grabbing tool I was playing the claw machine game in my parents basement. This time I didn’t need any quarters just a steady hand and a bright flash light. ” I got it” I shouted and handed the earring up through the hole in the floor to my mom. Usually strangers are calling us for a last ditch attempt to recover a lost item. But this Ring Finder’s call was close to my heart and my home.

Diamond Earring and Wrap, Lost, Found and Returned – Bourne, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

October 22, 2021
Unfortunately it is that time of year again, one requiring the relocation of fallen leaves. Christine’s task for the beautiful day was to move the fallen leaves from the lawn and into the woods, Over the summer one tree branch grew over the path to the composting pile. Christine’s diamond earring snagged on the new branch and was dislodged from her ear. All her and her super sleuth son’s searching did not located the earring.

Help from the internet search brought up Leighton’s and my names in her local area. Leighton was in Connecticut so I headed out on a solo search with my small 4 inch coil and hand held pin-pointer. I used Christine’s matching earring to notch select only a response that the earring’s presence under the detector’s coil would produce. My first target was a piece of solder, the second a piece of tinfoil and the third was the two piece earring still together.

Pictures taken and stories exchanged completed the return as the earring was replaced in its normal resting place. On my way home I could not get my mind off the branch. I have to believe Christine will cut it back so does not overhang the path which I am sure will be used several more times this fall.\

Mia’s Diamond Stud Earring – Lost, Found, Returned in Kerrville, Texas

  • from Kerrville (Texas, United States)

I received a message from Mia requesting help in finding her lost diamond stud earring. Mia explained that she was positive she lost her earing in the living room or bedroom of her home. She said that she had gone through all her clothes and bedding and in the living room she had even vacuumed the rug (and checked the vacuum canister). She had not found the earring but was truly clear and concise of where she thought she lost it. I knew that the size of the precious metal around the diamond would be extremely hard to detect but decided it was worth a shot anyway. My wife, Kathy, went with me to Mia’s home. Mia showed us into the living room with beautiful oak flooring. Adjoining the sofa was a 5’x8’ double shag rug. Mia said she felt that the earring might have fallen into the deep shag rug. Running my AT Pro pick up every nail in the wood flooring and checking my pro pointer with other earring yielded not sound at all. At this point I thought the only way to find the ring would be a visible search. After combing through the rug for several minutes Kathy said to turn the rug over and beat on it! Sure enough, after following my wife’s instructions there was the earring on the floor! Mia was happy to get her earring back and I was glad I followed my wife’s instructions. Sometimes it takes more than fine equipment to fine that lost item!    Merry Christmas Mia!

Falmouth, Cape Cod, Massachusetts – Lost, found & returned earring from a sandy beach

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

This Covid19 pandemic has caused more than physical pain. The pain that one feels as an item is ripped from an ear as a mask is removed is unbearable. I have been called to find two hearing aids and Madelan’s 3 piece diamond stud earring is the second diamond stud I have answer the request to help. I have been successful in each search. The problem of these items is the amount of metal that the detector must recognize a very small amount to say the least. In the case of the hearing aids only the battery is recognized. There is even less metal in most stud earrings.

Now that you know what a detectorist is up against on with the story.

Madelan is a frequent visitor to the beach and on one day she was involved in a ring search which I was later call in on. She was present when I found the ring and said she would never forget the event. Good thing she did not forget how to contact me. She now needed my help in finding one of her custom made 3 piece diamond stud earrings. The parts of the earring are: the back was a butterfly, the circle was an invisible jacket for the solitaire stud. Of course when called to help I was on my way. Again I called on Leighton another Ring Finder to help as I knew it would be difficult to find the 3 small pieces.

Frank, Madelan’s son had made and “X” in the sand and bet his mother a pizza that is where her earring is. The initial search did not reveal the earring. Tweaking my detector for maximum sensitivity at a specific frequency ensured the best response when the coil was directly over any one of the parts. And Yes, Frank was owed a pizza for dinner. With the finely tweaked detector the part could not hide anymore. The three pieces were found, cleaned and returned to Madelan.

Everyone on the beach enjoyed watching and later talking to Leighton and myself. Photos taken, stories exchanged and many Thank You passed before Frank and his mother were off to their favorite pizza house for an enjoyable dinner. Leighton and myself returned home for a good nights sleep as we had scheduled a 6 hour hunt for a lost wedding band the next day. How much more enjoyment can one person endure?

18k Diamond white gold stud earring lost on walk to Neighbours home! Milton, ON 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

A follow Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation 🌸Pink Sista🌸 Jen W of Milton (Campbellville), recommended me to great Friends and neighbours Jennifer and John S!

Jennifer and John had walked down to their neighbours home for a short visit. On the way home Jennifer had felt her diamond earring was loose so she stopped and tightened up the earring back….so she thought.

They walked into their home up into the kitchen and living room to put their feet up to relax. Few minutes later Jennifer felt her ear and found her earring was no longer there. They searched everywhere and back tracked to their neighbours!

Jen W sent me a message to see if it was something I could help with! “Of course I can” on my reply! I proceeded to send a link to my Ring Finders directory information/blog page.

I was on a Ring Finder call out already in Etobicoke and advised when I finished I would be right out!

It was getting dark but that’s a great time to search with the small coil and high powered LED flashlights!! Those diamonds shine bright!

So, tracing Jennifer’s steps… I checked the one small garden, then went up the grassy side of the driveway, and then the roadway side to where her neighbour lives to the location she tightened the earring back! Gridding very slowly with my Equinox800 and small coil while Jen, Jennifer and John had the flashlights out.

With no luck outside, I then proceeded to follow Jennifer’s footsteps inside the home through the garage, staircase, kitchen and living room. NO LUCK either.

We chatted a little more and I suggested that it could be in tires of a passing car or even the garbage truck that had been by that day. I advised that I was more than happy to come back!

I got packed up and left the residence. I decided to put my highbeam lights as there were very little street lights lighting up the roadway. About 60-80 feet past where Jennifer was visiting her neighbour and had fixed the earring back, I spotted something twinkling in the middle of the roadway as I passed over it! I stopped and thought to myself, oh my goodness could that be the earring? I then put my car in reverse, grabbed my iPhone and started videoing. I saw the twinkling and then knew and saw it was the earring!!!

Check out the video;

So excited, I turned around and proceeded back down their driveway in which John came out of the garage. I said “OK, guess what I found laying on the roadway and we are going to go surprise Jennifer! Just tell her I forgot to do the wrap-up video!!”

I WAS EPIC!!! This was my first earring recovery which means a lot to me as earrings and small chains are the hardest things to find!!!

As John and Jennifer knew, I have a “Pay-It-Forward” program that when I find the clients lost item, instead of me receiving a reward I asked the client to pay it forward with an immediate online donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation which helps patients men and women fighting breast cancer with their financial needs such as wigs, medicine, X-rays, daycare, food or rent! The client then receives a tax receipt for the amount!

I was truly overwhelmed by John and Jennifer’s extremely generous donation and truly honoured to complete this most excellent recovery!! I am smiling from ear to ear still on this happy ending!! 🌸💖🌸

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

Keith Wille – Earring Recovery Specialist. Lost your earring? Call 860-917-8947. Lost earring stud found in the parking lot of CrossFit Inguz. Sam was adjusting her headband during a workout when she felt her earring stud pop out. She was able to catch the small back piece but not the stud itself. As the loyal Cross Fitter Sam is, she kept the workout going! Replacing this set of Disney Mickey Mouse earrings would not be easy. Sam loves Disney, and these sentimental earrings are the tokens that keep her close to the Kingdom even when she’s 1000 miles away. Sam knew where she was when the earring fell, so we began the search after the workout. Mickey must have gone flying because 10 minutes into the search, I ended up find the earring 30 feet from where we started. Mickey is safe and sound back on Sam’s ear, where he’ll hopefully live out the rest of his years!

Lost earring in Kearney Mesa found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Naomi was at a local park and lost a family heirloom earring. There were a couple of areas where she had been, including where she was playing with some dogs on the ground. On arrival, we met and she explained the situation and showed me the two areas, both of which are on a baseball field. Unfortunately, there was some guys playing ball on the field, so, one of the areas over by the left field foul line was busy. The other area was deep in right field and not too close to where they were playing, so, that’s where I started. Naomi had the mate to the lost earring, so, I was able to use it to give me a sound and I.D. number to go by. Wow, that little thing didn’t give much of a signal, in fact, in a couple of modes, it didn’t register at all! The best signal I could get was in the Gold prospecting mode, where I got a fairly solid 1 on my machine. I started swinging over the grass and found there were so many signals that I had to eliminate all the other numbers except 1 and 2 or I would be there for days! I made a couple of quick passes where she thought she had walked hoping to get a quick recovery. No dice, so, out came the cones and I started to do a complete grid while she walked over to see how long they would be in the other area. As it turned out, they were just about done, but, that was unnecessary. I decided to complete my grid and on the second pass, the weak little sound on my Equinox that I was hoping for, alerted me to the earring sitting there in plain sight. In a flash, Grandma’s earring was back on Naomi’s ear where it belongs. A pleasure to met you Naomi, and thank you for the reward.

Lost Diamond and Platinum earring recovered in West River, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I received a call on 1/21/19 for Holly stating she had lost one of her Platinum stud diamond earrings. Knowing there  isn’t a lot of “metal” to work with with studs, I was reluctant to have any hopes of recovering such a small item which is mainly composed of a non metal gem. Holly explained the circumstances in which she lost it and was 100% positive it was in a relatively small sandy area in her horse barn. We made plans to meet at the barn later that day. Once we met, Holly directed me to the barn and gave great detail in where she believed she was when she felt the earring come off. On the technical side of things, it was a challenging item to find being so small. Holly let me use its mate to “dial in” the sensitivity and other settings of my machine. Once I was able to hear the specific tone the item gave me, I got to work. Shortly thereafter…….

Here is the text from an email Holly sent me shortly after I left her with the lost earring in hand….

JUST CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR FINDING MY EARRING!  I WAS VERY UPSET LOSING IT AS IT WAS A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY PRESENT FROM MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND.  I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS! IF YOU DON’T MIND, I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIS ON MY FB PAGE?!  AGAIN THANK YOU FOR SUCH A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH!

WE HOPEFULLY WILL NEVER HAVE THAT HAPPEN AGAIN BUT IF WE DO, WE WILL CALL YOU FOR SURE!  THANKS AGAIN!

HOLLY AND TODD

It makes finding a lost item extra special when I get emails like that! Glad I could be of service Holly!

Lost and found ring Camp Pendleton

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

The Ring Finders Metal Detecting Service helped find 2 wedding rings at Camp Del Mar beach. Open Now CALL 760 889 2751

I received a call from Jaycee who asked about the service I can provide to help find his wife’s diamond rings lost in the sand on Camp Pendleton. We arranged the best time to meet early at O700 when this particular beach is hardly crowded and occupied this time of day.
Not to mention but this is a bottle cap haven spot with Late night celebrating.

Upon arriving to the scene of the lost rings Jaycee showed me 1 of many private beach area booths & couches, tables, Chairs under a canopy with metal poles staked at 4 corners. We both first moved the couch and chairs as I then began my search. After a few bottle caps with nothing in the center of it I get multiple signals just next to the metal pole legs for the canopy..?
Funny cause the other pole didn’t give me those readings or tones. So I used my foot and kicked 3 piles of sand away from that pole.I saw nothing but heard a couple signals in the gold range on my Metal Detector,Then I scooped it up when sure enough it was only 1 of the rings I was called for. He was shocked how fast I found the first ring SO (BOOM) I scooped up the other ring too,Why NOT? !

This was an amazing story as I was able to help out Not just another marine or civilian cause Jaycee told me afterwards that his specialty is using metal detectors to find Bombs/IED’S 💣 ! And those type of detectors primarily pick up Wire/Explosives etc. This search was definitely rewarding to help out a fellow service member. What a way to honor those who protect our Great country 🇺🇸

“Who ya gonna call?”

Lost earring at Coronado Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Nellie called for help on a lost earring that her husband had given her for Mother’s Day. She had been busy all day and wasn’t sure exactly when and where it was lost, but, the beach seemed to be the most likely. My wife and I finished our dinner and headed over to Coronado to meet Nellie and conduct a search in the dry sand. When we arrived, it was after sunset, but, enough light to find ground zero on the beach. Nellie had the other earring with her, so, it was helpful in seeing what it would read on my new Equinox 800. A solid 8 signal….great. I started a spiral search from the supposed middle of the search area. After making a circle over 50 feet in diameter with still no earring (or much of any signals for that matter), I started a straight line grid over to the stairs and back thinking she might have lost it on her trip to her car. It was getting a bit chilly, so, I sent my wife back to the truck to get my windbreaker, and Nellie headed up the stairs to visually check there and the parking lot. I continued another pass, and got that sweet “8” sound in my headphones. Ran my pin pointer over the sand and pulled out what we were searching for, even though it was a bit out of the perceived search area. I walked back toward the parking lot where my wife and Nellie were talking. My wife had my windbreaker under her arm and while I was putting it on, I asked Nellie if this earring looked familiar? Hugs all around and a happy Nellie. The sodium lights didn’t help the photo of the earrings, but, they are beautiful! Thank you for the reward Nellie.
