Chaniyah contacted me about a lost ring at the beach. She had lost it while playing volleyball, and the sand swallowed it up. We agreed to meet as soon as we could get to the area to do the search.

I got to the beach a little ahead of Chaniyah, and saw that there were some people on the court in question. When she got there we went out to the court, and I asked if the players would be bothered if I looked around the outside of the court while they were playing, and they said it would be fine. What was real nice was that as I searched they decided to move to next court over which allowed me access to the whole area. It was a good thing because after about 10 minutes of searching inside the lines I found her ring. Chaniyah told me that her mother had given her that ring with special Biblical scripture engraved inside, so it meant a lot to have it back. Great smile!

Husband’s Wedding Band Lost in the Front Yard, Found and Returned Conway SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

Saturday evening, July 1st, I got a text from Renee saying, “I need help finding my husband’s ring. We know the area of the yard just can’t find it.” I text back asking her to call me and gave her my number. When she called I asked for details and she said the ring got lost in the front yard. They had tried looking for it but were unable to find it. I told her I’d be there in the morning at 9:30 and she agreed.

When I showed up, Renee was waiting outside. She showed me the small area. Unfortunately, the path led directly into an area that included the power and cable boxes, as well as the water meter and line. With all the interference, the detector was pretty much useless. Hoping against hope; I detected the short grass up to and around the power area. I lowered the sensitivity way down on the Equinox and ran the coil over the rock area and the Saw grass plants to no avail. So time to pull out the pinpointer and check the Saw grass plants. I started probing the first plant and got a hit. I carefully separated the Saw grass blades so I wouldn’t make the target fall deeper into the plant. Renee had told me the ring was black tungsten with blue around the center. As I’m eyeballing the inside of the plant I saw the blue band. Boom, I reached in and pulled the ring out of its resting place. I was sitting on the ground with my back to Renee. I twisted around with the ring in my fingers and held it up for Renee to see. I stretched out and handed Renee the ring. I could see the relief in her face. So happy to get the ring back where it belongs.

Renee – Thank you for allowing me to help find the lost ring.

Lost a special ring or other sentimental piece of jewelry, cellphone, keys or other metal object? Call or Text Mike McInroe–ASAP at 321-363-6029!

John Jr. called me from Flagler Beach on Mothers Day to ask for my help! You see, his wife had wrapped her engagement ring in her shirt and left it on the beach towel as they swam and enjoyed the Florida sun, sand and ocean water. (This was their last day in Florida and they needed to return their rental car and catch a plane to Chicago later on in the day.). So when the time came to pack everything up they grabbed the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, coolers and their items of clothing like T-shirts, sandals and a certain shirt all neatly rolled up! Unfortunately they forgot that John’s wife’s engagement ring was tucked away inside and when they shook the sand out of the shirt, the ring went flying into the soft coquina sand! They frantically searched for some time by dragging their fingers through the sand hoping to catch a glimpse of the platinum ring and someone suggested looking online for some help and that is what led John Jr to give me a call. Here is what John’s father wrote…”I am so grateful for Mike McInroe and for his services today. He traveled more than 80 miles on Mothers Day to locate a precious engagement ring that my son and daughter in law misplaced in the sand at Flagler Beach. He quickly located the ring that we had desperately searched for, for over an hour. Mike is a master at his craft and is a true man of integrity. Thanks again Mike! John Davis”

How I thank God for allowing me the amazing opportunity and privilege to help John and many others like him!

I received a late night text from Karla hoping I could help her find her lost rings. I tried getting back to her, but it was too late in the night. The next morning she called, and explained that she had lost her rings a couple of days earlier at her home, and had scoured the house looking for them. She had also gone through much of the trash as well, but was unable to find them. She asked if I could come and detect her trash to see if by chance they ended up in there, so we made arrangements for the search.

I arrived at the appointed time, and Karla and her husband Bart were waiting. She took me to the back of the house where the trash cans were, and we talked about the possibilities of the loss. They have a young child, so there were two bags of used diapers to search; Karla thinking that while changing their child they might have come off, and got folded up in a diaper. I used my metal detector to go over the bags of diapers, and my pin pointer to check each diaper individually, no rings. Karla then brought out a couple of bags of trash that she believed were highly suspect, and I went through each and every item with my pin pointer finding much foil and other metal objects, but no rings. Bart then brought out 5 more bags, but wasn’t sure if they were even from the time frame of the loss. But I kept to my plan to search every item in each bag thoroughly to be certain if the rings were there or not. I went through 3 of the bags finding a lot of foil and such, but no rings. As happens a lot of times during a search like this, I will be continuing my search, but the person I am trying to help begins to lose hope, and wanders away, and both Karla and Bart went looking in other places; I just kept pounding away at the trash. Then while going through the 4th bag, my pin pointer sounded off on a napkin in a take out dish. I lifted the napkin, and two beautiful gold rings were there. I walked over to Bart, and showed him, and he said that he was losing hope, and was so surprised they were found. He called Karla, and I was able to give her rings back to her. To see their joy was a great reward.

Alex called late in the evening to let me know he had lost his white gold wedding ring, along with his car key in the water while getting out of the water after surfing. It looked like the tide would be right for a search that night so I asked him to let me know where to search, and let him know I would go then.

Alex had given me enough information to cover the area of the loss, and because he was only ankle deep when the items were lost, I had plenty of open sand to search. There were no targets at all, just silence in the head phones. I kept looking for about an hour, and then a strong signal. I dug, and there was the key, so I knew the ring should be close. I continued on, and then another strong signal, dug, and had the ring. I sent Alex a text showing the two items to let him know they were found. He agreed to meet me at the beach right away, and I delivered his wedding ring and key. He was very thankful.

Custom Silver Ring Lost in the Sand at Long Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

Blake contacted me about a couple of rings lost the day before at the beach, but there was only one that they were concerned about. It was a silver ring that he had personally made for his girlfriend on a trip to Bali. He had personalized it with engravings as well. They had been out the day before at the dog beach throwing dog toys for the pooches, and when they were ready to leave his girlfriend Nadia realized her rings were gone. I let them know that the difference of a day could decrease the chance of a recovery, but we decided it was worth a try, so I let them know I would leave soon to meet them for the search.

When I arrived at the beach they met me, and took me out to the area they had been, and showed me the path they had taken. It was about a football field long but fortunately a walking path wide. We walked the path finding a few dimes, pennies, bottle caps, and pull tabs. I made sure to dig everything to ensure I did not miss anything, but no rings. We got to end, and they decided we had been very thorough with no luck. We were going to walk back to where they had washed off their feet when after turning towards the parking lot I took two steps, and got a signal in my head phones of a high tone, dug, and there was a nice hammered silver band. Blake and Nadia had their backs to me when I pulled the ring out of the scoop, so I held it up and waited for them to turn around. Blake turned first and looked questioningly, and began to walk forward to see what I was trying to show him. When he finally realized what it was he came and gave me a big hug followed by one from Nadia, it was the ring they were concerned about, the one Blake had made for Nadia. I searched around for the other ring with no success. It was great to be able to be able to find such a meaningful token of their love.

Jack called asking if I could help with the search of his lost wedding ring. I asked how the loss happened, and he explained that he had been gardening, and when he finished his ring was missing. We arranged a time for me to come to his place, and I was on my way.

When I got to the yard Jack showed me where he had been weeding and planting. I set up for the search, but there was a lot of metal all around the search area, so after trying with the detector, I had to resort to my pin pointer with lowered sensitivity. I slowly went around everything there, and was unable to find his ring. We then decided to pull the plants he had planted, and dig out the holes putting the dirt into piles away from the metal. On the second hole there was a clod of dirt that sounded off when the pin pointer got close. I reached over, broke the clod up, and there was his ring. I held it up to show Jack, and then there was the smile, he just couldn’t believe it, but was so happy to see it again.
