I received a message from Marisa on my Ring Finders South Jersey Facebook page about her antique wedding band that was lost yesterday. She was standing in the surf in Longport, NJ when a wave came in and caused the ring to slide off her finger. She saw it drop into the ocean and thought she would never see it again. Ironically, she happened to see the news segment earlier in the day about a lost wedding band that I found and reached out to me. I went out at sunrise to catch low tide since it was lost in the surf. After roughly 35 minutes of gridding the surf and wet sand, I was able to find it!
I received a call from Dawn whose friend saw my Ring Finders South Jersey page on Facebook and referred her to me. Her daughter Julia lost her Cartier gold Love ring in the surf during a severe storm in Ocean City, NJ. She was in ankle-deep water when strong gusts of wind suddenly blew the ring off her finger. After speaking with Julia about the details of how and where she lost the ring, I started the search in knee-deep water and worked my way toward the beach. I had to expand my search out about another 35 yards and the ring was found on the high on the slope! Never give up the search the rings can be found!
I got a call from Stephanie, a young mom who’d taken her daughter to a local pumpkin patch. She had lost both her rings – wedding and engagement – on the outing and was understandably upset. After she described the basic situation, we made arrangements to meet at the pumpkin patch before they opened up on Sunday morning. When I arrived, Stephanie and her mom were both there, anxious to help if they could. She said that a child had found her wedding ring the previous day, so we were now only looking for the still-missing platinum engagement ring. We went through the usual questions to try and figure out exactly where the ring might have been lost, she showed me where she and her daughter had been, and we started looking. Stephanie and her mom had bought an inexpensive metal detector that they were hoping would help, but it became apparent that it wasn’t going to provide much assistance. We spent 90 minutes on Sunday until the pumpkin patch opened for day, but no ring. I made arrangements with the owners to come back the following morning to continue looking. Returning Monday morning, I spent about 45 minutes looking and was able to find the ring — a little dusty, but fine. I was able to return it to Stephanie that afternoon. It’s always a great feeling to return items to their owners!
I received a call from Tony’s wife Blyss about his lost wedding band in North Wildwood, NJ. He placed the ring on his knee before applying sunscreen and forgot it was there. It fell off his knee and disappeared in the sand as soon as he stood up. I met the couple on the beach and the ring was found in less than 30 seconds.

I received a call from Alissa this evening about her brother-in-law Charles’ lost platinum wedding band in Ocean City, NJ. Charles’ ring flew off his finger into the sand while he was pushing his child on the swing set at the beach. After a few minutes of metal detecting, the ring was found!
I received a call from Anthony who realized he lost his ring after he left the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. He thought the ring was in his beach cart pocket, but couldn’t find it when he went to put it back on. We met up shortly after speaking to find it. The gold ring was in the scoop within a few minutes of starting the search and Anthony was relieved that the ring was found!

I got a distress call early evening Saturday in regards to a lost diamond engagement ring in Chilliwack. After talking for 20 minutes we arrange a time and place to meet the next day, originally I was looking to meet around noon but the young man asked if I could do it sooner as his wife was struggling with the fact that she lost her engagement ring.
They even told me they bought a metal detector and search for it also 10 or more people walking by the time stop to help search in the snow unfortunately finding a platinum diamond ring in the snow is virtually impossible. The fact that they bought a metal detector doesn’t always mean they’re going to fine with Dave Lost. If you have never used a metal detector it would be hard to understand how it works and how to properly search for it. I have 50 years of a Metal Detecting Experience and lots of lessons I have learned over the years on wear rings turn up, it’s not always where you think they’re going to be.
After meeting the young couple they showed me where they believe the ring could be, they cleverly marked two trees so they could get back to the area… Very smart thing to do because sometimes people don’t always get you back to the exact area. After searching for close to 30 minutes and no Ring the young lady went to the second location she thought it may have come off her finger and that was by the lake, her husband stayed behind to watch me and shortly after I found her beautiful diamond ring and surprised her husband. We agreed to go to the lake and surprise his wife!

I have the best job in the world, I love helping people more than anything I’ve ever done in my lifetime. I get to make people smile, I get to hear their stories of what their ring means to them, and I get to see how happy they are when I find it.
