Keys Lost and Found on Sandy Pond Trail Cape Cod, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

April 4, 2025

A dog walk around Sandy Pond, as part of Crynne’s daily routine, lead to a stressful afternoon when she returned to her car and could not find her keys. A few trips around the pond in hope of finding the keys proved they were hiding from sight. She thought a metal detector would surely help in finding them.

Eleanor at J&E Enterprises was very helpful, as always. Her recommendation was to call Rick, a member of TheRingFinders. On the call I heard the information I needed and was on my way. My first suggestion was that my search, with Crynne leading the way, be done in the opposite direction from the way Crynne always walked around the pond. This would give us a different point of view.

Mainly because Crynne’s hobby was to remove the trash she saw during her walks, the path was nice and free of trash. Of course some of the removed trash had been just off the beaten path, those areas had to be searched with my metal detector. About ¾ the way around the keys were found. They had been in an area that Crynne had walked over a few times, but from the reverse direction. They were just out of sight when coming from the opposite direction. The keys really did not need a metal detector to be found. Sometimes just a different point of view is all that is needed in ending a stressful situation.

Lost Yellow & Rose Gold with Diamond Wedding Ring at Na’ia Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began the day after Christmas 2024 when Randall who was on vacation from Los Osos, California and staying at the Marriott Beach Club, for the holidays, saw me metal detecting in the waters of Na’ia Lagoon and said he had just lost his ring while snorkeling in deeper waters of the lagoon.  Another tourist tried looking but the area was fairly silty with low visibility.  Winter season surf really silts up Na’ia Lagoon so I told him when the visibility returned I would put my scuba gear on and hunt for his ring.  He showed me a rather well marked by buoys area and I logged that in my notes for later reference.  I had brought my scuba gear to the lagoon several times but it was always low visibility until Saturday 29 March 2025.  I went into the water in scuba gear and laid my bright orange rope on the bottom in the sand & coral as my grid line.  Thankfully only a few minor targets in this area.  I had to go out over the coral rubble areas as that was also part of the search area.  After about 10 minutes of hunting I got a loud unusual tone over the coral rubble.  I waved my hand abruptly over the coral to blast away the sand and Randall’s beautiful ring and a Lincoln cent came into view.  No wonder the tone was so weird.  I grabbed them both and secured them away.  I finished the dive looking elsewhere in the lagoon and found one more rather corroded junk ring.  I texted a picture to Randall in California to confirm.  The ring was opened up this morning and Randall sent me a Shaka!  Aloha to Randall!  Sorry it took three months but you have to be safe on scuba!

White Gold Wedding Ring, Lost In Springvale, Maine, Found Visually, While Searching With A Metal Detector

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

I was contacted by Christina about her wedding ring. She had lost it on Friday, April 4th, while helping her husband, move a refrigerator, into their home, in Springvale, Maine. Christina told me that she had taken her Engagement Ring and her Wedding Ring off, and put them in her pants pocket. She was nervous about damaging them, while moving the refrigerator. When they finished moving the refrigerator, Christina reached into her pocket to retrieve her rings but only the Engagement Ring was there. The Wedding Ring was missing. Christina asked me how much my service was and I told her that I did not charge for my Emergency Metal Detecting Service or for my time. I just required a Transportation Fee, to cover my gas, tolls, wear and tear etc.

When I arrived at her home Christina met me promptly. After a few pleasantries, I got down to business, by asking her many questions, about the day the ring went missing. I asked about where she was when the rings were put into her pocket and where was she when she reached in to take them out. I asked her the path they took, with the refrigerator. Have they done a visual search of all the areas that she had been in.
Christina told me she couldn’t remember if she was in the bed of the truck or in the house, when she took her rings off, but she and her husband had visually searched the truck and inside there home. They had removed the refrigerator from the truck and brought it into the home, through the front gate and down the walkway. They had also searched all of these areas. Once they were done with the refrigerator, they went for a walk, heading down the middle of the street and while walking, Christina reached into her pocket, to retrieve the rings. It was at this point, she realized her wedding ring was no longer in her pocket. She and her husband retraced their steps, in and along the street, but the ring was not found.
I told Christina I would search the entire lawn, on both sides of the walkway and on the outside of their fence, along the street. The area wasn’t very large and the search went quickly. I then asked Christina how far they had walked, down the street. I would search the grass, along the street and hopefully find it in the grass or gravel and Christina was walking down the middle of the street, as she had done, 5 days earlier. As I finished up in front of her house, I was halfway done searching in front of her neighbors house. I stopped and asked Christina where she was exactly, when she took the rings out of her pocket. She said “Actually, right in this area” and made a motion with her hand, outlining the area, in the street. As she was saying that, she said, Oh My God, there it is”. Christina was pointing into the street and THERE WAS HER WEDDING RING. She couldn’t believe it and mentioned that they had searched the street a few different times. She then texted her husband and he came out to see where it was found. I took some photos and we were all extremely happy that the ring was found. I really couldn’t believe the ring was in the street for 5 full days. Just crazy!

I try to ask my clients all kind of questions, concerning the circumstances of the ring going missing. It just might trigger something that helps in locating the ring. I would like to think that me asking her where she was, when she pulled the rings out made her stop and look at the area. Either way, when I am searching, many of my clients like to visually search, along side of me. As far as I’m concerned, it takes a team to be successful and today the Teamwork worked out just fine. Christina was extremely happy to have her wedding ring back and we both had big smiles.

LOST 14k WHITE GOLD EARRING in MOUNT ULLA…… FOUND!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I received a call yesterday from a gentleman, whose wife had lost a 14k white gold earring in their field. She was mowing when she ducked trying to avoid a limb. Well the limb caught her earring and popped it out of her ear and into the grass. They bought a cheep metal detector and used the other earring to try and find the one that was lost, but with no success. So they found me on the internet and gave me a call.

I told them I’d be there first thing in the morning. I arrived and we had to walk to the back of the fields. She showed me where she was mowing and where she got snagged by the limb and 10 secs later there’s her earring!!

Lost cell phones, cash, credit cards and BMW fob in the Wekiva River , Orlando, Florida…found and returned to owner.

As a good friend of mine always says, “Don’t waste time renting or borrowing a metal detector if you have never used one. Especially if your lost item is important to you. Call or contact an experienced metal detector expert.”

Deondre and his friend had rented some kayaks for the day and they both had secured their iphones in “waterproof” cases with lanyards and as they paddled down the river they came to a rough area and somehow they tipped their kayak and over they went. Only Deondre did not have his lanyard over his head and his brand new iphone slipped into the water and immediately disappeared. His friend called me and I met them an hour later and paddled out to the exact spot and searched for 3 hours but could not find Deondre’s lost cell phone…but I was able to recover an old water logged ziplock bag with all the contents still intact but completely soaked!

When I got home I cleaned everything up in fresh clean water and put a fan on and left it for 2 days. The money dried nicely and the fob was very dry as well and the credit cards would for sure be canceled and the iphones were…well one was toast and had swollen up and the other looked in very good condition still. So I plugged it in and it amazingly started charging but it was locked and the screen would come on but would not allow me to retrieve any information…even the Medical contacts. I tried looking on Google to see if I could find the person whose name was on the credit cards but there were just too many people with the same name so I resorted to calling the BMW dealer and asked if anyone had reported missing such a fob and when I mentioned the card holders name they said it matched someone in their system and I was given an email address and that info ended up being the husband of the young lady who lost the whole bag of goodies over a year ago!! They were shocked to hear that I wanted to return their lost iphones, credit cards, 114 dollars in cash and a BMW fob! It is always a real pleasure to return something and have a part in seeing the joy and surprise on peoples faces!

New Wedding Ring Lost while Gardening .. Downtown Los Angeles, CA. Found by Using Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Don’t waste time renting or borrowing a metal detector if you have never used one. Especially if your lost item is important to you. Call or contact an experienced metal detector expert.

*** Richard was doing a little bit of gardening at his home in downtown Los Angeles, CA. When he believed he lost his gold wedding ring. He wasn’t quite sure because he didn’t feel it come off his finger. It wasn’t until two hours later, inside his home that he noticed his new wedding ring,  only two months old was not on his finger.

He knew the ring needed to be resized, but he was waiting for a weather change to get the best fitting. After searching the inside of the house, he believed it could be in the planters where he had remove leaves by hand.

I met Richard the next morning and proceeded to check the planters while it was raining. The light rain was distracting so I did two or three passes with the metal detector and I used the handheld pinpointer to get into the difficult spots.  Then, just before giving up, I scanned the grassy area in front of the ground level planters. BOOM !! .. Richard’s gold wedding ring was in the grass.  Richard came outside to check on my progress just as I was taking a photo of the ring for the book of smiles. He looked down to see what I was doing and let out a big surprising yell. “ You Got It”

Lost – Ladies heirloom 14K gold ring, New Smyrna Beach, FL – FOUND!!!

  • from New Smyrna Beach (Florida, United States)

If you’ve lost ring anywhere in Central Florida…

Call Detector Ed 757-419-0299

On Saturday, I was just getting ready to throw burgers on the grill when my phone buzzed.  My friend Daniel tagged me in a Facebook post.  A lady had lost her ring, handed down from her late grandma and the tide was coming in.  I knew I had to go try to find it.

Before I started driving to the beach, I prayed that God would help me.  Then I FB messaged Karyn who posted that her friend lost her grandmother’s ring.  When she called me, she mentioned that she had left, and the lady had left also.  I didn’t have much to go on, but she sent me a picture of where they were parked.

In a short time, I arrived on scene and a group of guys approached me and said, “are you here to look for the ring?”  I was relieved!  They gave me a rough idea of where the ring was lost.

Within 5 minutes I located a great signal with the Minelab Manticore!  It was the ring!  A beautiful 14k gold ring with an inscription from her grandpa to her grandma and the date…June 1941!  This treasure was going back to where it belonged.

The owner, Kym called me later that day and I was able to give it to her a few days after!  She was incredibly grateful.  God is Good!

Lost Custom Made Wedding Ring at Huntington Beach Pier… Returned to Newlywed

Metal  Detecting service available for Huntington City Beach .. Call or Text Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** A guy named Sindha called me on week day night just after he lost his Silver Wedding Ring at Huntington City Beach. This was lost in the dry sand just as the sun set.  He had been brushing sand off his clothes after sitting when his wedding ring flew off his finger.

Sindha has only been married less than two months so this was traumatic for he and his wife. Very frustrating searching through the sand with their fingers as the cold wind got more intense. They called me for help after searching the internet for information about metal detecting services.

This location of the loss was very close to the Huntington Beach Pier where the beach sifting machines clean every evening, starting after 10 pm. If the machines miss it. The ring would not have survived the recreational metal detectorists that work this area of the beach everyday.

Knowing the urgency of this search, I was able to meet them soon after the call and before the beach closed. It was a quick recovery because they didn’t waste too much time trying to find the ring by hand searching or trying to rent a metal detector. It also helped that they were still at the beach, so they put me in a 20’x20’ area.

It was a pleasure to be available to help such a nice couple. I love this hobby.

Call or text for information or help with how this service works.. 949-500-2136 .. 24/7 … I WILL TRY ANYWHERE.

Lost Gold Hawaiian Ring at Pounder’s Beach La’ie…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began on Monday when I got a text from Angelica who lives in Kalihi on Oahu, her text said, “hi! i lost this ring in the area circled in red of Pounder’s Beach in La’ie last Saturday night, March 29.  would you be able to find it?”  I called Angelica to get some details and she had been kneeling in shallow water along the shoreline when her ring came off and disappeared in the waves.  I checked the surf and tide report and decided Thursday afternoon would be ideal.  The next day she texted, i’ve had a change of mind–i’m just gonna let my ring stay lost there haha.  I didn’t know what to think but decided since I had never detected that beach I would give it a shot on my own.  I went Thursday after work.  Driving up the East coast of Oahu is always breath taking with the steep Koolau Mountains on one side and the ocean on the other.  After arriving I hiked down the beach to the far end where Angelica lost her ring and had circled in red in her picture.  It was a little rough from the North swell wrap but doable.  Thankfully not too much trash on this desolate beach so targets were minimal.  After about 30 minutes and nearing the end of where I was going to search, I got a nice tone on the Manticore.  It was near some lava rocks so I wasn’t expecting much.  On the third scoop, low and behold there was Angelica’s pretty Hawaiian Ring in the scoop.  Thank you , Jesus!  I went back to my car and sent Angelica a pic asking, “Look like this?”  yes! you went to find it?  I called her and let her know the good news and since she is busy with college stuff, we agreed she would swing by my home on Sunday for the return.  Her priorities are perfect, “School first”.   Aloha to Angelica!
