Wedding Ring Lost a Year Ago in Vermont: Found

A few days ago I got a message from a fellow who had come north last Summer to vacation at a Summer camp. One day he had been washing his hands indoors, then stepped outdoors and shook the water off his hands. He felt his wedding ring fly off his finger and heard it hit something a few yards away. He searched for over an hour and couldn’t find it. Shortly after he had to go back home without his ring.

Just recently he heard about The Ring Finders, looked up a Vermont member and contacted me to give the service a try. I had a 4 day weekend this week, so was able to go do a search on my next day off. He sent me awesome photos of the search area and described what happened to his ring.

This morning the weather was beautiful, cool and clear. I went to the camp, talked with the manager and got started. Unfortunately, there was a massive air conditioner, a propane tank and a large metal culvert in the search area, so I figured that would make it a challenging search with such large metal obstacles giving off large signals. So, I started with the bushes and flowers, got many signals, but in about 20 minutes got the right signal for his ring. I poked my finger into the flower’s roots and about an inch down found his ring! He might have stepped on it while searching.

Soon, I will be reuniting him with his ring! Moral of the story, don’t give up on a ring, even if it’s been months or years.

I got a voicemail on 6/16 from a lady whose husband had recently lost his wedding ring. He is a farmer who works 7 days a week and covers a lot of ground around their huge farm.

His wife did some absolutely incredible detective work to try to narrow down the area that he might have lost it. He hadn’t felt it fall off. They have several security cameras, so she decided to go through all the footage. She finally found that he had his ring on when they were doing some things in a side yard and behind a building, and a little while later it could be seen that it was missing from his finger. So, that gave them an idea where to search.

Not knowing about my service yet, they ordered a metal detector from the internet. Without having experience with a detector, and being an area jam packed with signals, they had no luck with it. She also spent many hours visually searching for it in the daytime and with a bright flashlight at night.

I went over this morning early because I thought it may be a difficult search. She showed me the areas and I got started. Unfortunately, her husband was too busy to accompany us. The ground was loaded with signals, but in about 10 minutes I got a promising surface signal. I pushed the pinpointer into the thick grass and there it was! Wow, was she happy!! She wasn’t sure if they would ever see it again!
