Lost Gold Chain Found In The Sand In Troy Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Pancake

Late Friday night, practicing a few shots in preparation for a Father’s day volleyball game, this pictured young man’s gold chain came off as he hit the sand in a defensive move to no avail.
Completely bewildered as to what to do, he knew he needed to find it as it was a gift from his father last Christmas.
We agreed to meet today and search the area where he thought he was. Not knowing how thin the chain was I elected to use my treasure hunting club’s Garrett AT gold metal detector, as this machine is very sensitive to thin/small gold items. When I got on site I noticed the sand was unusually deep, much deeper than I had experienced before. I chose to grid search using disc 1 setting adjusting for no disc and close to all metal.
I found it nice how clean the sand was as I got no junk signals at all. After about 10 mins the AT gold got a nice signal in the gold range on the meter. Scooping out about 5 inches of sand produced this stunning rope gold chain! A look of relief was in his eyes as he came over to pull it from it’s hiding place, and shocked that it flew further than was thought. Now on Sunday his father will see him wearing it proudly despite his volleyball skills!

Lost Man’s Wedding Ring In Sequin, TX. (Found)

I was contacted Tuesday 6/16 by a gentleman named Tylor. He told me that after playing volleyball in the pool at his grandfathers house he noticed his wedding ring was no longer on his finger. They did an extensive search of the pool and traps but no luck. I told him I could be at his grandfathers first thing Saturday morning. Since Taylor lived in Houston he would not be able to be there. When I arrived Grandpa Homer came out to meet me and off to the pool we went. I began my search on one side of the pool and then began to work around to the other side. I was just about to run out of yard when I got a solid 62 on the AT Pro. There was no doubt that it was the ring. It was completely hidden in the thick St. Augustine grass. No way to eye ball it. With great pleasure I gave the ring to Grandpa Homer. Thanks Grandpa Homer for being such a gracious host.  And now the story continues.

Lost Diamond Engagement Ring – Corolla – Outer Banks, NC – Found

  • from Ponce Inlet (Florida, United States)

I received a call from a gentleman who said his wife had lost her engagement ring.  I went to their rental home in Corolla, NC.  He explained that his wife had lost her platinum diamond engagement ring but she wasn’t sure where or for how long it had been missing.

He walked with me from where they were staying; down the street, on a two block walkway, on an elevated stair over the dunes and down onto Corolla beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  He showed my were his items are on the beach and wear they had been on a previous day. (which was now occupied by another family)

I told the gentleman that this search could take hours and we may not find the ring because they weren’t certain when and where they lost it.  (They had even removed p-traps in the house looking for it). I had my grandson Andrew with me because he was visiting from the Virginia Beach area.  He had to be back to my house in 1 hours so he and his mom could leave.

We walked back to the house and I told him that I would let him know of any developments.  I decided to concentrate on the beach area as I began the search.  I used my Minelab Equinox 800 and Andrew used my pinpointer.  I began a grid search in the area where his chairs and umbrella was today.  It was a trash-target-rich environment.

After about 20 minute of searching the first chair area, I decided to look on the beach path between where the family had been on the previous day and where they were today.  Before long, I got a strong hit just beneath the surface.  I dug a small scoop and asked Andrew to use the pinpointer on it.  As he moved the sand around…….BAM!  I saw the shimmer of a diamond in the sand!!!

My grandson got the ring and held it up as I took a picture.  I texted a picture to the owners and immediately got a call.  The were ecstatic!  They said they couldn’t believe that I found it so quickly;  and frankly neither could I.

We walked back to the house were we were met by the happy couple and other families staying at the beach vacation rental. We gave them the husband his wife’s ring and he gave it his bride!  What a wonderful experience to make this family so happy and what a lesson for a 6 year-old!

Lost Diamond Pendant at Ambleside Beach, West Vancouver… Found!

Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  778-838-3463

Right place, right time, I bet this has happened to many of you over the years!

I went to Ambleside Beach early in the morning to do some metal detecting on the dry sand, shortly after starting my day I was approached by a young lady (Denise) who asked if my metal detector could find a diamond pendant. I said yes it can, then I started asking Denise if she knew the approximate location where she believed she lost it, she told me she knew pretty much exactly where she lost it.

After talking for a little bit and walking to the location a few hundred yards down the beach, I came to learn that this diamond pendant was a gift to herself and has a lot of sentimental value surrounding it… Her daughter bought her the matching diamond ring for Christmas, what a beautiful surprise!

Denise told me she drove all the way from Pemberton which is about a 3 1/2 hour drive to come back and look for it. She was at the beach the day before visiting when she lost her pendant, she drove home then came back with her friend to look for it the next day,  she was smart enough to make a rock shrine/pile so that she could come back and find the spot the next day. (Great Thinking)

While she was looking for her pendent a city worker saw her and told her there was a guy with a metal detector at the far end of the beach that might be able to help her…Me

Denise showed me the rock shrine and told me to search a few feet in front and to the right, after a few minutes and no luck, I had a few more questions, I started to search the rock shrine/Pile where I got a good signal and bingo!

Denise was so good at marking the area where the pendent was lost she almost buried it under the rock pile. What a beautiful pendant I was so happy to be able to find it for her.

Lost Ring outside of Calgary

  • from Cochrane (Alberta, Canada)

June 17/20 I received a call from a gentleman that had lost his ring in tall grass on a farm where he was doing some siding. The thing about the ring that makes this so important was that he was the fourth generation owner. It belonged to his great grandfather and has been passed down until it reached him. On top of that, the initials on the ring are that same as his and each generation before.

After searching several days, and mowing the grass down, he still had not found it. That’s when he called me.  We met in Langdon and drove the 7 km to the farm. I grabbed my gear and we walked to the spot. He described how he had shaken his hand and where he believed it had flown.

Two short passes over the 10 square metre space and a little over the edge into the tall grass and sure enough there it was. The owner was ecstatic.  It is so much fun to put a smile on someone’s face!!!

Beautiful, Sentimental Gold Wedding Band found and returned in Delaware County, PA

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Received and email from Jestine on June 17, 2020 asking for help with a lost ring. Apparently she was holding the beautiful, vintage gold band for a friend while playing Cornhole in her backyard. Turns out the ring was a family heirloom that went back generations. After purchasing a metal detector and trying to find the ring herself over the course of several hours she gave up and consulted the Ring Finders directory. After getting the call and heading in her direction, she lives in Aldan, PA, I gave a call to my bud and fellow Ring Finder, John Favano to see if he wanted to join me for the search. We met there 30 minutes later and met Jestine in her backyard….it was a small backyard with high grass. She walked us through step by step what happened with the lost ring and we got to work. I had barely turned my machine on when I saw a funny smile on John’s face…it took him less then 3 minutes to find the ring! It was a beauty as was Jestine’s reaction when we put it back in her hand.

Lady’s Yellow Gold Engagement Ring Lost in North Myrtle Beach SC, Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I received an e-mail from Summer, saying she had lost her ring the previous evening around 6 p.m. in ankle deep water. We went back and forth with e-mails, and I finally asked her to call me, so I could make sure I was going to the right area of the beach. Her fiancé, Nick, called me and gave me the exact location and said they’d be there waiting. I told him I’d be there in 10 minutes, grabbed my detector, and was on my way.

I got to the beach and walked out towards the ocean, holding my detector straight up in the air. I called Summer to let her know I was there and to look for me. She spotted me and pointed me in her direction. Once we found each other, I got more details. She pointed out one location and Nick pointed out a different area. Ok, double the area I thought it’d be, but one I could handle. Her losing it at 6 p.m. the night before meant she lost it roughly an hour after high tide, which was good because I got there right at low tide. I started doing a parallel grid at the low tide line, planning on working the incoming tide up to the high tide line. As I’m walking the grid, I look up and see an older gentleman detecting about the mid tide line. I walked over to him to let him know what I was doing; his response was that he was looking for the same ring. So, evidently Summer and Nick had seen him detecting and asked him to help without letting me know, or letting him know I was looking also. There were a couple of times we got in each other’s way, but I maintained my parallel grid. Summer and Nick came up and said they had to leave; I assured them I’d call them when I found it. They also let me know that they had originally come on the beach a little further down from where we were. Ok, I’m thinking now that I may have to come back during the night time low tide. With the distance I had covered already, the tide was catching up to me. I was pretty confident that I hadn’t gotten to the area she lost her ring, but I wanted to make sure I got the low tide area before it was under water. I kept my search going, extending it out further to cover the new area while making my way to the high tide line. Shortly after Summer and Nick left, the older gentlemen came up to me. We introduced ourselves, his name was Jim as well and we compared notes. Summer had told me, she lost the ring around 6 pm in ankle deep water. At some point, she had told Jim she lost it around 7 pm close to knee deep, which was no big deal. Jim said he was going to quit for now and come back out at the low tide tonight. I told him I was going to keep working my way up to the high tide line. About 2 more grid lines and I got a banging 22-23 VDI on my detector. I knew I was looking for yellow gold, but I was expecting something in the 17 VDI range. One scoop and I had the target out of the sand; I spread the sand out with my foot and saw the faint glimmer of gold. I had to look at the picture Summer sent me and the ring I was holding to make sure I had the right one. Bingo, it was a perfect match. I took a picture of the ring and sent it to Summer, with a text saying “Look familiar?” She immediately texted back saying “You found it!!! Oh my goodness thank you” Meanwhile, I caught back up with Jim to let him know I found it. Shortly after, Summer and I met up in the parking lot where she got her treasure back.

Summer/Nick – thank you for trusting me to help find your lost treasure.

Jim
