Lost House, Work and Vehicle Keys and FOBs at Bellows Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This Key hunt began when I got a call from Andrew who is doing his residency at Tripler Medical Center and hails from Indianapolis, Indiana. While enjoying a day at the beach with his friends he realized his keys went missing. The only thing for sure was they were on the beach. Whether in the sand or water he wasn’t positive. Andrew’s best guess was when he set up the area with beach chairs they must have fallen off into the sand. I started an search of that area which was thirty by twenty feet. Only found 36 cents. I asked Andrew during his transit from the car to the area we searched and since he had his keys hanging from his finger did he do anything in between. He said Yes about thirty yards away his friend came over and helped him carry the chairs & umbrellas he was carrying. That area was marked by a wood pile stood up like a tee-pee. You can see that in the above pic. I hunted around that area but still no keys. Those FOBs area $500 apiece Andrew told me. Looking down the beach I told Andrew lets walk down the beach away and see if they pop up. I truly believe the hand of God played a role in this recovery. Over a football field away from the original hunt area I got a target on the Equinox at the high tide mark in the sand. Wet & dry sand transition. I scooped down and lifted the scoop. To my utter amazement there were Andrew’s keys in the scoop. Are you kidding me? This cannot be happening. Andrew wasn’t even sure what path he took down the beach. Honestly this became a haphazard hunt and I never in a million years thought we were going to find these keys. Look at the tremendous amount of trash on the beach. Thankfully very little was metal. We also determined much of it was from the Japan Tsunami of 2011. I actually found a barnacle and coral encrusted plastic milk crate from Tendo City, Yamagata Japan during this hunt. My friend Chris confirmed it was in the area devastated by the Tsunami. Andrew is obviously very thankful and told me he was actually shaking while holding his keys again. Aloha to Andrew!

Silver Heirloom Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

Denise called, she had been at the beach, when brushing the sand off of her clothes, her ring flew off into the sand and was gone. This was her grandmother’s ring, and she cherished it. She had not left the area, and it had happened just a little bit earlier, so I knew the possibilities of a recovery were very good. I let her know that I was on my way, and would let her know when I arrived.

When I got to where Denise was she showed me where she had been standing, and what she was doing when the ring flew off, so I began my search. I searched all of the area she had gone over, and the ring was not there, so I expanded the area. I found the ring about 10 feet from the original area, sitting on top of the sand. Denise was very grateful, and figured she would not even have looked there had I not come along. What a nice end to a day!

Lost Family Heirloom Diamonds & Gold Engagement Ring at Naia Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a panicked call Wednesday evening from Victoria who was on her 1st Anniversary vacation with her husband Justin. They are from Memphis, Tennessee and were staying with friends in Ewa Beach. While enjoying the cool waters of the lagoon with her husband Victoria’s stunning family heirloom Diamonds and Gold Engagement ring slipped off in chest deep water and disappeared. A search party was gathered but even with nets the ring was hopelessly lost. Marriott Resort personnel told Victoria about my services and she called. I agreed to shoot right over from Kaimuki but it was getting dark fast. When I arrived the girls were no where to be found. Then two gentlemen approached me and asked if I was there to hunt for a lost ring. I said, “Yes but where is the young lady I’m talking to on the phone?” Victoria was actually over in Lagoon 2 thinking that was where she lost the ring. After we determined the ring was in fact lost in Naia Lagoon 3 I started an immediate grid search. After about 15 minutes it was pitch black and nearly impossible to keep my bearings in the water. Along with everyone had a different idea as to where the ring was lost. I spoke to Victoria and said, “I’ll start fresh first light the next morning.” She was hesitant but I assured her the ring wouldn’t go anywhere in the calm lagoon. I arrived the next morning around 6AM. The sun wasn’t up yet but there was enough light to start the hunt. On the fourth leg in thigh deep water I got a screaming 9/10 tone on the Equinox and in one scoop there was the stunning ring in my scoop. I texted Victoria the good news and she and her husband Justin immediately drove to the resort for the recovery. Smiles & hugs and Anniversary saved. Aloha to Victoria & Justin!

Cobalt – Meteorite ring found in Littleton, CO

  • from Denver (Colorado, United States)

Joseph was working at a clients house when he placed his cobalt/meteorite ring into his pocket as he was going to be working with some harsh chemicals that may cause damage to his ring. During the day he went outdoors to get a bucket of water from the hose bib, he also drove to the local Home Depot to get some supplies. Later that day he noticed his ring was gone so he returned to the house and searched it with no success. After a couple of days Joseph found my profile on TheRingFinders.com and contacted me. We setup a date for me to come and search for his ring at the house where his ring went missing.

Upon my arrival Joseph told me the story of the rings disappearance. We talked with a neighbor in case the ring fell on to the street in front of their house. They had not found a ring so that option was off the table. We then visited the yard and he showed me around the areas of the yard that he had been in. Before I grabbed my detectors I decided to look in Joseph’s truck even though he told me that he had searched it pretty thoroughly already. We both searched under the drivers seat with our cell phone flashlights. I then started reaching behind the plastic covers on the seat anchor brackets, the only way to search them as you can not see the brackets due to the covers. It was there that my fingers felt a familiar shape, the ring. Joseph was more than a little surprised that the ring was there and he was also very thankful to get his prized wedding band back.

Lost Gold Ring Found On Volleyball Court In Auburn Hills Michigan

Volleyball Couple Scores Big Time!

The pictured couple was at their company volleyball tournament and Husband noticed his ring was a bit loose so he put it in his shorts.
They were giving it their best performance and as they rotated around the court, taking net shots, backwards volleys and falling to the ground they just had a few more points to take the championship. As dusk was upon them the last volley soared over the net and never made it back over..hitting their opponents sand. They got their win! It wasn’t till they got home he checked his pocket and no ring. When I talked with him yesterday they were totally devastated as the ring had been passed down from a few family members and the loss of it weighed heavy on his mind, the volleyball win not seeming as important as it was a few hours earlier. We agreed to meet today and I didn’t know he had it in his pocket during the game as I thought it flew off his finger. So this made the search area smaller as he was only on one side. It took just a few min with the MXT to get a solid signal. I was looking for something a bit deeper than surface due to the ring being trampled during the game and I got a solid signal with a depth of 3″ and since there was no junk metal I knew this was the signal I was looking for and probing down this very unique ring revealed itself through the grains of sand! Now the couple had their gorgeous ring and winning smiles back….. along with a championship to cherish together!

Ring Lost in Hollywood, Ca…Found and Joyously Returned.

I received a call from Jane today about a lost ring. She had been in her backyard throwing a ball to her dog, when making a throw her late husband’s ring that she wore daily, flew from her finger, and was gone. I asked a few questions, and we arranged to meet later in the afternoon to do the search.

When I got to Jane’s house, she took me to the backyard, and we talked about the loss. I asked her to reenact the throw, and then began a search in the direction of where the ball had flown. I went over the grass, checked all the flower pots, checked and shook all the bushes, under the bushes, and out to the fence; no ring. I then went over the yard once more to insure I had covered all areas, no ring. I asked if she had a ladder, and checked up on the garage roof, no ring. Jane had resolved to find the ring whenever it showed up, but I really wanted to know why we were not able to find it, so we went back behind where she had been standing, and looked on her gravel patio. I told her a story about how rings are not usually where you think they are, so we began to look around the patio. I just got finished saying that if it was here, that it would be in plain sight. I turned right looked down on the gravel, and there it was. I let out a whoop letting her know I had found it. It had come off of her left hand, and flown  15 behind and to her right about another 10 feet; amazing! Jane was so happy! This ring is something she wears to keep her husbands memory close to her all the time.

Jane sent the following testimonial:

My late husbands ring found today after an extensive search by Steve. Can’t thank you enough for all your help. Just when we were ready to give up the search, there it was hiding in plane site👏 I can’t tell you how happy & relieved I am.
You made my day & am truly grateful

14K Gold Family Heirloom Wedding Band Lost at Oak Island, NC, Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got an email around 9:30 pm Sunday night from George saying that he had lost his gold wedding ring that had originally belonged to his grandfather. His email also stated that he had placed the ring into a zipped pocket of a beach bag on Friday, but didn’t discover the ring was missing until he and his wife, Jen, started packing up to leave on Monday morning. As Jen was packing the beach bag, George remembered his ring was in there and told Jen. Jen checked the bag, didn’t find the ring but did discover a hole in the pocket the ring was suppose to be in. He was wondering if I could meet them tomorrow, before they left to see if I could find it. Unfortunately, I’ve got to go out of town the next morning for a day trip so I wouldn’t be able to make it. I called him, letting him know I couldn’t make it tomorrow, but I could make it tonight. He agreed, gave me the rental house address and I hit the road for the hour drive to Oak Island.

When I arrived, both Jen and George were sitting on the front stoop of the house waiting for me. I got a few more details from Jen and George, and George and I crossed the street to the beach access. Once there, George pointed out the area they had been sitting at over the course of the last 3 days. I started doing a grid line parallel to the surf. I was on my 6th or 7th line when I got a strong signal showing up as a VDI of 18 and I knew it had to be his gold ring. Dug a scoop of sand, dumped it on the beach, and spread it out with my foot. Ran the coil over the sand and saw the outline of his ring at the same time my Equinox rang out. I reached down and picked up his ring, turned towards George and held my arm out. I had my headlamp on and saw the expression on his face like, there is no way he’s holding my ring. He seemed hesitant to come see what I was holding and when I handed him his ring he was completely overwhelmed. Think we both dropped a tear or two. We left the beach and were going to surprise Jen, but George couldn’t contain his enthusiasm. At some point after we found his ring, he made a comment that he was sure it was lost forever.

George and Jen, Thank you for trusting me to help find your lost treasure. I’m sure the ring has a very long history and story attached to it, and now that story can continue with just a little added anxiety thrown in.

IPhone lost at Ocean Isle Beach NC, Found and Returned

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

Jessica called me a little before 9 am asking if I rented metal detectors. I informed her that I don’t, but I use metal detectors to help find things for people. She asked if I could find an iPhone she lost in the dry sand. We went back and forth with a few questions and answers, ending with me telling her I’d be there in about 45 minutes.

She gave me the address where she and her family were staying. When I pulled into the driveway she came out of the house with her friend, Maria and said to follow her to the beach access. Once we got on the beach, she said that she had left it on the beach the night before and had tracked it to a general area of where she had been. The area was roughly 20ft by 20ft, and thank goodness it was all dry sand. I started a grid search from the dry sand to the high tide line. On the fourth line I got a good signal, and the numbers were all over the place on the Equinox 800, so I knew I had found her phone. I used my foot to spread out the sand and uncovered part of the phone, and reached down and picked it up. She couldn’t believe it was found, thanks to her putting me in the right area, it made for a quick and easy search. When we found it, it had no power, so when she got back in her car and plugged it in, it started charging up. Thankfully, there seemed to be no damage.

Jessica, thank you for trusting me to help find your lost phone, and have a great rest of your vacation!
