Lost Engagement Ring in Crosby, Texas (found) by John Volek

I was contacted by Amanda on 10-18-2015 regard ring her lost engagement ring in a field near some new home construction. Amanda said while she and her fiancé were out looking at some new homes in Crosby her new engagement ring must had fallen off her finger. Amanda said she and her fiancé had been searching for her lost ring for several days, but had no luck conducting a visual search of the area. Amanda said on the third day they purchased a new metal detector and spent several more hours hunting for her lost ring.

Amanda said they were pretty sure of the area where the ring was lost, describing it as a grassy area along side of a road. Amanda felt the ring had slipped of after they parked and exited their vehicle to look at the new homes.

I made arrangements to meet Amanda on Monday 10-19-2015 to search for her lost engagement ring in Crosby.

The search area was a grassy drainage ditch along side of the main roadway into the subdivision. Amanda said she was sure she had had the ring on her finger after exiting the vehicle. Unfortunately, even in this new subdivision the grassy ditch was littered with small aluminum targets, like every 12 inches. It was a really difficult and time consuming search, but we prevailed.

Worker loses Wedding ring at Kelowna worksite, Found and returned.

Contact:

Kyle was installing fencing at a new home, and just for safety he put his 14k diamond wedding ring in his pocket so as not to lose it. On his way home he went to his pocket to put the ring back on, and it was missing. He checked out the W.W.W.  found The Ringfinders, and gave me a call, I responded within 30 minutes and found the ring 2 inches deep in the dirt by a fencepost. His concern was that it could have been anywhere on site, or even in the concrete around the post`s.  Another happy customer.

Lost Texas A&M Ring at Crystal Beach, Texas (Found)

10-12-2015

I received the following e-mail today:

My wife lost her Aggie ring today about 7pm in about four to five feet of water today about thirty or so yards from the beach. I have no idea if it’s even feasible to look in the surf like that but I figured I would try. We are staying at 1109 Blue Water in Crystal Beach. If you are willing to look please let me know. Thank you for your time.

Zachary

I have worked Crystal Beach before knowing it is located on the Bolivar Peninsula, just east of Galveston, and only accessible from the west by ferry boat. The ferry boat during the peak season can be a nightmare one often has to wait in line for hours to get to the other side. I was glad we were in the off-season.

I called Zachary back and he explained how his wife Paula had lost her Texas A&M Graduate Ring in the Surf on Crystal Beach. Zachary said he had a very good idea of where the ring had landed in the water. Zachary said he had made some marking on the sand to maintain the drop location in the water. In short, great job Zachary, this was the main factor in the recovery.

Zachary sent a few pictures of the beach and sand markings illustrating the ring drop zone in the water. Zachary and I made plans to meet early the next morning on Crystal Beach to search for the ring.

Back to the ferry boat discussion, cost me an hour each way, with little or no traffic, not sure what the ferry boat guys are up to?

I pulled onto the beach with the provided instructions and knew I was in the right spot. I immediately saw a large tent shade with the Texas A&M logo printed on the roof. Zachary and Paula quickly laid out the ground work, and we set out to find her lost ring.

The beach at Bolivar Peninsula took the brunt of Hurricane IKE, and restoration-rebuilding was evident with several nice new homes at the shoreline.

Zachary walked out into the water and set the perimeter for where we needed to conduct the search. I worked the grid east to west, pulling up a few deep targets, just didn’t want to make a mistake and miss the ring. I reset my search and started working north to south and hit the ring on the second pass.

Lost Ring Found at Kelowna Beach

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)
Contact:

Mark was down on Gyro Beach for the evening with the boys. He dropped his wedding ring in the sand, knew where it was but the whole group after searching around, could not find it. He called me the next day, which was Thanksgiving Day, asking when I would be available to help him in his search. Experience tells me the sooner the better, I told him I will be there in 30 minutes. I got there before he did and could see by the scrape marks where they had been searching, 5 minutes later it was in my pouch. Mark arrived and was delighted to see his diamond wedding band, he tells me I saved his marriage.

Shell Beach gives up a 3ct ring after 19 days

  • from Pismo Beach (California, United States)

The day started out slow with no good finds on the beach in Pismo… so it was a late lunch with plans to go fishing for a little dinner off the pier when my phone rang it was Rudy wanting to know if I could help him and his wife who had been exploring the tide pools and rocks in Shell Beach north of Pismo Beach the day before when his wife Rosa lost her 3ct custom made wedding ring. It all started when Rosa had dropped her cell phone in about 6″ of water right at the edge of the surf  while jumping off the rocks unto the sandy beach. Rosa began frantically searching for the cell phone in the surf of the incoming tide and as she was feeling around in the soupy sand, seaweed and water mix she saw her 3ct diamond ring slide off her finger. Rosa found the cell phone about 6″ under the sand and seaweed mix, but the ring was nowhere to be seen. She called to her family and friends to help look and sift through the sand all the while the tide was rising.

I told Rudy I would meet them at the location which happened to be about the same time of day the ring was lost, now this area of Shell Beach is shear 100’+ cliffs with cascading steps leading down to the rock strewn beach, locally know as 1,000 steps beach. I got to the area where Rosa had jumped off the rocks and started my search. The tide was coming in and I knew I did not have much time to search before the waves and water depth would be to much for me to handle. I was in water up to my neck with about a foot of dead seaweed setting on the bottom, after about an hour with no targets of interest I felt it was getting unsafe to even be there as the waves were hitting the rocks with the rising tide. I told Rosa not to lose faith and that I would come back at a lower tide and continue to look for the ring.

I had been keeping an eye on the area nearly everyday, but the tides had not been low enough to proceed any farther out than I had been, then on 9/29/15 we had a minus low tide in the evening and I planned to try again for the ring. I began my search right where I left off 19 days before and in less than 5 min about 10′ farther out under the ledge of a large rock formation I got that sound that is so sweet to a detectorist ear, I knew it was the ring I just had to get my scoop in there to dig it out, after two scoops I had it. I won and the ocean gave up another treasure.

Once I got home I called Rosa and let here know the ring was recovered, all I heard was screaming and sounds of joy on the other end of the phone as she was telling others I had found it. We made plans to meet the next day as she and Rudy drove the 150 miles over to the coast from their home in the Central Valley town of Visalia to get the ring. All of this would have not been possible with out “The Ring Finders” web site.

Oh, on a side note a local Fresno ABC TV station got word and did a news piece on the recovery here is a link to the show http://abc30.com/news/visalia-womans-lost-wedding-ring-found-by-larry-the-ring-finder/1010970/

Diamond wedding ring found Montrose Soccer field Chicago

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

I am beginning to LOVE SOCCER FIELDS.

I was contacted to find a women’s diamond wedding ring that a young child threw onto a kids soccer field in Chicago. I took both my Deus and my CTX to look for it. I showed the father how to use the CTX and I searched with the Deus. I have always thought that two detectors searching is better than one. I let him borrow one of my pinpointers,  and I used the other. He had never hunted before, so I guided him as to what to look for. I set my sensitivity low on both machines, since it was a surface find. I also set the gain low on the CTX so he could tell if something was on the surface or deeper. Sure as heck, he found the ring!! I think I have just converted another metal detectorist!!

Lost Tungsten Ring found in North Toledo Ohio

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Have Your Cake and Throw It Too!

Got a call from the friend of the groom to be. Just so happened that the bridal party was doing a photo shoot at a park and the cake started flying, and so did his tungsten ring. I didn’t know the material type of the ring until I met all of them at the park. The search area in question was 100′ x 100′ and the area was still marked off.
They had previously searched off and on this week but couldn’t locate the ring. After I searched for about 15 min a nice solid signal came thru (reading +52 on the MXT) and just under the top of the grass his attractive tungsten ring was revealed. My first tungsten ring. Very nice people that got very excited and emotional. I quickly put my gear in my vehicle as I was on the lookout for the cake.

Lost Ring in Water Canal La Marque, Texas (Recovered) by John Volek

Lost Ring in Water Canal La Marque, Texas (Recovered)

I was contacted by Paul last week regarding a very special ring that he had lost in the canal behind his home in La Marque, Texas. Paul said while working on some underwater fishing lights in the canal behind his house the ring had slipped of his finger and disappeared into the dark waters. Paul told me the ring had belonged to his father, and it was one of his most prized possessions.

Paul provided me great detailed information on the site, sending photographs and finding the answers to all relevant questions regarding the search and site.

Paul and his wife were extraordinary, and I consider them to be good friends and look forward to seeing them again in the future.

Paul, Thanks for everything.

The attached video details the search and events better than I can put into words.

Lost Wedding Rings in Sugar Land, Texas (Found)

08/22/215

I was contacted by Kiptyn today regarding his wife’s lost wedding rings in their neighbors backyard. Kiptyn said while participating in some outdoor activities yesterday his wife had lost her rings. Kiptyn said his neighbors lawn service was at their house preparing to mow the lawn. Kiptyn asked how quickly I could get to his location to search for the lost rings.

My schedule was open, so I immediately headed to his residence. Upon arrival, Kiptyn introduced me to his neighbors and the search commenced.

The area in question was searched extensively but yielded no results. This was another example of needing to extend the search area, and in doing so,  Kiptyn’s smile tells the rest.
