Platinum wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Berwyn, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Dan found me via The Ring Finders directory. He was deeply worried about losing his very sentimental platinum wedding band. He said he just celebrated his 1 year wedding anniversary and the ring was so important to him. He told me the previous Saturday he was at his niece’s wedding reception in the backyard of his brother’s house in Berwyn , PA. The reception was a big affair with a DJ and a dance floor set up in the middle of the grassy backyard. He was partying and dancing up a storm when he decided to head in the house to use the bathroom….that’s when he noticed his ring was missing. He was 100% sure it was on his finger before the party started. He and family started searching immediately both at party and next day. He finally contacted me on a Tuesday and and I agreed to start to search on Wednesday. Dan lives in NJ so he put me in touch with his brother since it was his yard I would be searching. I met his brother that afternoon in the backyard of his house…it was a 50 x 5o foot grassy yard with much of the grass compressed and still littered from the big party. In the middle of grass you could clearly see the 20×20 foot square where a wood dance floor was installed and then removed.  As you become more experienced as a Ring Finder you start to get more intuitive on where the lost ring might be when starting a search. You prioritize the most likely areas…not only based off details and circumstances of how it was actually lost but also considering the fact that many people have been looking for it for many days with just their eyes(not a metal detector). Most of the grass in backyard was very short or non-existent…if the ring was there they would have found it themselves. However, there was one area off near the dance floor where the grass was higher…if it fell there it would be difficult to find without a metal detector. Soooooo…..I started there. Bingo…I immediately got a perfect ring signal. I bent down…pushed aside the high grass to reveal Dan’s ring! I immediately texted Dan’s brother who came out and was just amazed how quickly I found it after so many people searched for hours. He, in turn, immediately called Dan to share the good news! It brings me great joy to be able to come through for people with a successful recovery!

Cell Phone lost recovered and returned in Chadds Ford, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Greg found me via The Ring Finders directory. He contacted seeking help to find a very important lost Iphone. We spoke on a Friday night and Greg shared with me that 2 weeks prior while enduring some very difficult and personal trauma he absent-mindedly left the phone on top of his car prior to pulling out of driveway of his home. He got to the end of the 400 foot driveway when he realized he left the phone on the roof of the car. Unfortunately the phone was no longer there and obviously slid off at some point during the short drive. To further complicate things the driveway was lined on both side with either leaves or pachysandra ground cover. Greg spent several hours over the last 2 weeks searching with a rake for the phone. I agreed to meet him on a Saturday afternoon. When I got to his home he was prepared with an old phone to reenact the incident… while I observed he put the phone on the roof of his car and once again pulled to end of driveway. It was clear that the phone must have slid off to the left side and most likely in the curved area of the driveway with thicker ground leaves. I booted up the detector and made a first pass parallel and closer to driveway…no luck. Halfway trough a 2nd pass quite distant from driveway in an area of thick leaves I received a screaming loud signal on my detector…to me there was no doubt what that was! I gently pushed away a a few inches of leaves to reveal his Iphone 7! I called Greg over and asked him to look down…the relief and joy on his face when seeing his lost phone made my day!

Massive platinum wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Chadds Ford, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Jay found me via The Ring Finders Directory. He told me he was in the front yard of his beautiful Chadds Ford, PA home putting up Christmas lights when he took a break to throw a football with his son. His son threw him a deep high pass and while reaching to catch it he felt(but didn’t see!) his large platinum wedding band fly off his finger. He actually borrowed a metal detector from a neighbor and spent several hours looking for the ring himself prior to contacting me. When talking to him I told him that I have had many people contact me after renting or buying a metal detector themselves…I feel the experience of the operator of these machines is as important as the machine itself when searching for something as important and valuable as a ring. Anyway, I met Jay on a Saturday afternoon and we reenacted the incident. Jay was convinced the ring must have flung off his finger straight back and far toward the side yard. After 20-30 minutes and not finding…we reenacted the incident again and considered other angles and expanded our search. Still nothing! We decided to reenact the incident one more time but this time Jay was going to actually fling a ring sized object to see how far and what direction it might go. He just returned from his garage with the ring sized object in his hand and was preparing to fling it…I was standing next to him in an area he never thought possible his ring could be…but sure enough I got the perfect signal on my detector. I bent down with my pin pointer and sure enough…there was his massive platinum band! The funny thing was Jay had his back to me still about to fling his mock ring….when I tapped him on shoulder and told him to stop! I held up his ring and we both started laughing…he couldn’t believe where I found it. We had the angles all wrong! All’s well that ends well! Jay was very happy to get get his ring back!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Shawn SGT Sherrill – Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  Anytime 24/7   918-313-2202

I got a call from Dashawn today about his lost cell phone on the side of the road, off an exit. I had to hear this story first hand. He proceeded to tell me, while on his motorcycle, his phone was in his left inside pocket at the time. As he exited off the highway the between his speed and the wind it managed to somehow fly out!!! It went to his right side mind you….. He said, “he had find me follow me” but when he went to find his phone with it, his lost phone died. He was able to connect via bluetooth from his helmet before it died too. So we were able to get an approximate location range of where the phone should be laying.

I agreed to meet him at the location. After about 30 mins and about 30-40 feet, TO THE RIGHT, from where he had exited and lost his phone, His phone was found. He was so happy, excited and very grateful to have the old phone back in his hands!

LOST WEDDING BAND HONEYMOON ISLAND, Fl. …FOUND!!

STEVE THOMAS  DUNEDIN RING FINDER    LOST A RING OR OTHER METAL VALUABLE?   CALL ME ASAP ANYTIME (843)  9954719
10 MINUTES FROM HONEYMOON ISLAND

Last Friday I was enjoying some beach time with family including our daughter who was visiting from Texas. It had been several days since Tropical Storm Eta had passed and the beaches had unfortunately lost a lot of sand, making for some good detecting. I had the usual questions from people I passed nearby including “find anything today?” and “what’s the most interesting thing you have found?” As I walked out towards the jetty to see if my son had caught any fish, I noticed a lady who was sitting in the edge of the water. As I got closer, I thought I heard the lady talking to herself but then I realized that she was speaking to me. The lady, who later introduced herself as Vilma, asked me if I helped people search for lost jewelry on the beach. I told her of course about what I did as a Ring Finder and asked her what she had lost. Vilma sadly explained to me that about two months ago she was on this same beach with her family including her recently wedded son Oscar. Oscar lost his white gold wedding band while helping a another family with their umbrella after the wind suddenly kicked up. Vilma’s family had searched several times for the ring but had not used a metal detector or service. Vilma had promised Oscar that she would somehow find the ring and she had prayed for God’s help.

I asked Vilma to show me the area where the ring was lost and she led me to a location no more than 200 feet away but close to the current dune area and a beach access. Vilma was very certain that this was where Oscar lost his ring but significant beach erosion had occurred from the storm. I began sweeping a grid area maybe 20 feet wide and 100 or so feet from the dune line towards the water. The area was somewhat rocky due to the storm removing several feet of sand. I reached the water, turned around and was headed back towards the dune line when I happened to run into Chip, the person who assisted with my last ring search several days before with his Garrett. He wished me luck and continued to move north up the beach. I continued my sweep toward the dune line and within 15 feet or so of the dune, my Equinox 600 registered a 11-12 target about 4” down. I know from previous experience that 11-12 could be a pull tab and a 13 could be either a bottle cap or a nickel but I had found gold in this range so I dug into the somewhat rocky sand. Incredibly, I uncovered the ring, held it up to Vilma, and said “is this what you are looking for?” She stared at the ring for a moment and then let out a scream of joy that could be heard by everyone reasonably close. Vilma ran to me, hugged my neck and wouldn’t let go. So much for social distancing, lol!! After many “thank yous” to me and to God, Vilma left the beach trying to figure out the best way to surprise Oscar with his ring. Afterwards, I actually had to explain to several groups of people who I had already spoken to about what I do as a Ring Finder that finding Vilma’s ring was not a set up because there is no fee for my services, only an optional reward!! I am convinced that God used me to answer Vilma’s prayers that day. I love my retirement job!

Important keys lost, recovered and returned in Wilmington, DE!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Got an email from Dan in Wilmington, DE. Apparently his wife was making snow angels in a huge leaf pile in her parent’s backyard when her ring of important keys came up missing.  They had been raking leaves and had created a massive pile on top of a tarp…after playing in the leaf pile they dragged the leaves to a secluded part of the backyard. Not a 100% certain the keys were lost among the leaves they spent several hours over several days searching for the keys inside and outside of house. Dan came to the realization that his only hope might be a metal detector to search the huge pile of leaves. He said he briefly considered buying a metal detector but after a quick google search came across the Ringfinder directory. I got his email around 1 pm on a Wednesday and arrived at the house by 330 that same day. I met Dan and his mother-in-law in the backyard and was shown three possible areas where they thought the keys might have been mixed in with all the leaves. Like I always do,  I took a minute and demonstrated how my equipment works so they can have confidence that if the keys are there…I’ll find them. I had a few options as far as where to start the search…I decided to start in the very middle of the largest pile. Within 30 seconds I had a very strong signal deep in the pile…I broke out my pinpointer which immediately confirmed a good target. After a quick pushing aside of leaves…there they were! Its always fun to see the amazement on peoples faces when you are able to find something so quickly that they thought was gone forever. Dan was extremely happy and immediately called his wife to share  the news of her recovered keys!

Lost Stud Earring in Wilmington DE found by Dave Milsted

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:
As I was heading home from an unsuccessful search Roderick called me about a lost yellow gold diamond stud earring. He was down I-95 in Wilmington DE. I met him about 40 minutes later. It was now raining.
He showed me the area of the loss. He was on a riding lawn mower when a tree branch hit the side of his head causing his earring to fall out. He placed his matching earring in a sandwich bag, so we wouldn’t lose it as I tested the readings on my metal detector.
I got my detector and started to search, about 30 minutes later it started to pour. I went back to my truck and got an umbrella. As soon as I got back to the search area, I got the sound & ID number on my metal detector that I wanted to get. Using my pinpointer I separated the grass and saw the side of something gold. It was his earring, It must have been stepped on while they were looking for it, as it was pushed into the mud.
He was so happy & thrilled! A few F-Bombs might have been dropped. He said that he searched earlier in the week with a metal detector that he bought. After he couldn’t find it he decided to call a professional. I was soaked but it was worth it.
I love my hobby!!

Lost Necklace & 3 Rings Found By Dave Milsted in Medford NJ

  • from South Jersey (New Jersey, United States)
Contact:

I received a call from a woman earlier this week, let’s call her Zoey, asking if my detector would find rings & a necklace. Last weekend she hosted an outdoor party and lost 3 silver rings and a necklace. Her concern is that after having too much to drink, she hid them somewhere in the house. I explained my machines work great outside, but with all of the nails, wires, and pipes they can’t be used inside. If she wanted me to search inside it would be a visual search.
She wanted her backyard searched around the bar and firepit. I agreed to meet her on Saturday. She showed me the area that needed to be searched. It took maybe 15 minutes to search the yard with no luck.
I asked if there was anywhere else she wanted me to search. There was a small outbuilding that housed all of the wood for the firepit. I used my handheld detector for that search. No luck. She asked if I could search a few areas in the house. So inside we went.
We searched on the first floor with no luck. So we moved to the second floor. The walls had a lot of decorations, pictures, and knick-knacks. With my handheld detector, we searched the pillowcases. I asked if she wanted to search her clothes drawers. She searched them with the handheld detector. No luck. There was limited light, so I was using a flashlight. As I was looking at all of the interesting items on the wall, the light from the flashlight caused something to sparkle. It was kind of hidden by the curtain around the window. It was the necklace, hanging from a knick-knack. On the necklace were the 3 rings. SUCCESS!!
It looks like she removed the necklace and put the 3 rings on it, refastened it, and hung it on the wall. She was so happy that we found the jewelry. She said the day of the party she treated herself to the necklace, she said it was expensive.
I love my hobby!!

LOST WEDDING RING AND BAND ODESSA, FL. …FOUND!!

Steve Thomas – Dunedin Ring Finder  Lost your ring or other metal valuable?  Call me ASAP anytime (843) 995-4719

Since almost the beginning of the year, I have received only two calls for lost rings. In both cases, the ring owners were certain that the rings were lost inside their homes. Also in both cases, I agreed to assist but before I was able to search, both owners recovered their own rings.

Several days ago I received a call from Morgan who said that his wife Melissa had lost her white gold and diamond wedding ring and band in the yard of their townhouse. The band had been made from her grandfather’s wedding ring and he was her best friend until he passed away several years ago. Morgan was out of town but gave me Melissa’s number so I texted her and set up a time to search the next morning. Melissa had already searched her home and car and was certain that she had pulled her car keys out of a small pouch on the way out of her front door or somewhere in her small yard on the way to her car and the ring set which was also in the pouch must have flown out. Melissa also purchased a metal detector on Amazon and tried to search on her own. I did also find out that the grassy area where she probably lost the set had been cut since the set was lost but the grass was not bagged.

My son Grayson accompanied me with an ancient Bounty Hunter and I had my Equinox 600. After a good bonding time search of about 2 hours in thick St Augustine grass, thick Bermuda grass, an area of shrubs on either side of the porch, and some potted plants including on our knees with a pinpointer, we found scrap metal and a survey stake but were unable to find the ring and band.

Before we left, I asked Melissa to search her home and car again as well as consider other possible search locations. (In a search, you can’t ask too many questions.) I told Melissa to call me if she thought of any other outside locations and I would search them. I asked her to consider looking in places where she didn’t think it was possible for her to lose the rings.

The following morning I received a text from Melissa and she informed me that she had located the ring set! She had searched her home and car again but then remembered that she had used her mother’s car the day she had lost them and that is where she found the rings.

Melissa, thank you for contacting the Dunedin Ring Finder to assist you with your search.
