Lost Wedding Band returned to Owner who is in Hospice

    Today we drove 3 hours to find a gentleman’s Wedding Ring he lost gardening 6-8 months ago.  Today unfortunately his health has driven him into a Hospice situation.  His wife and adult children really wanted to have the ring found before he passes.   When his wife answered the door she broke down crying, “just knowing we were there to search for the ring”,  it was literally 100 degrees.  We began our search through the sticky blueberry bushes and all over the 3 acres.  The wife came out to speak with us, as Ellen was speaking to her, I continued to search.  And praise God not 10 feet from where she was standing I got a Gold Signal.  I reached down and got a really big smile on my face knowing  I had just found the ring.  The lady nearly jumped into my arms when we showed what we had found.  We so love what we get to do. Back where it belongs

I received a call from a party that mentioned that he and his wife had taken their rings off to not loose them when they were going into a lake swimming.  The rings were put into the pocket of a swim suit.  Later after coming out of the water both, his and her rings were missing. These folk where in Minnesota staying at a vacation rental on a lake about 65 miles north of St. Paul. They went home back to Milwaukee totally heartbroken. They had no idea how to find the rings and contemplated buying a metal detector and driving back to find the rings. Following doing some research they came across the ring finders web site and found my name. They called and were quite surprised that there was people that look for lost rings on the internet.  They were even more surprised to find someone that could go up and look for the rings and they did not have to go back to Minnesota to recover their rings.

There was another group on the property and we had to wait.until they left before searching. But eventually the property was vacated and I went in and searched for the rings. It took about 3 hours and many signals that you find in lakes. Bottle caps, fishing lures and weights, old beer cans and old bait cans. But I finally got a hit that was strong and clean. I knew it was a ring before scooping it up. Yes, it was his ring. I found one of the two missing rings.  I continued to search really hitting the area that I found the one hoping that they fell out together. But no luck. So I finished up out in the water and swept the yard and again came up empty.  While it was not the perfect outcome, I can always go back and try again and see if I can get lucky one more time.  Congratulations  on getting 1 of 2 back.

97-year-old heirloom 10kt Victorian darling baby ring recovered and returned! TRF Celina, OH

97-year-old heirloom 10 karat Victorian darling baby ring recovered and returned! A small ring makes a big hit for the day.
Tough little ring to locate at just 3 mm wide for the band and approximately a size 1.
     Scott, Alicia, and their little family made the almost 4-hour drive back to Alicia’s hometown to visit family. While spending time with family at a local State Park, Alicia was presented with her grandmother’s 97-year-old Victorian Darling Infant Ring as a keepsake for her daughter Noelle, named after her Great-Grandmother. The 10kt. ring was placed on the baby’s finger and photos were taken. The ring was too large for Noelle’s tiny finger and fell off. Alicia and her older children hunted the grassy area where they thought the ring had fallen and weren’t able to locate the ring.
     Alicia was in my wife’s Girl Scout Troop years ago and she has seen posts on my wife’s Facebook Page about my ring returns. A distraught Alicia contacted my wife to see if I was able to come out to the park and find the ring. I grabbed my Manticore, pin pointer, and other gear and we went to the State Park to see if I could locate the ring. Alicia was able to show me the roughly 20 x 20′ area where the ring had fallen. After swinging for about 45 minutes, I was able to find the tiny little treasure and hand it back to the very relieved mother!  Very small ring to locate at just 3 mm wide for the band and approximately a size 1.

Lost Platinum Wedding Band Found At Dewey Beach, Delaware

On 06/19/2024, I was contacted by Xiao-Lan about her Platinum Wedding Band that had been lost in the sand on the beach in Dewey Beach, Delaware. Xiao-Lan had given her wedding band to her husband to hold for her while she went swimming with her son. The wedding band fell out of her husbands hand into the sand. I made contact with Xiao-Lan at the location on the beach where the ring had been lost, I began a search of the area and was able to locate the lost ring in the area in front of their blanket that was closest to the water.

Lost Family Heirloom Ring Recovered on Treasure Island, FL

Ring recovered July 8, 2024. I saw a post on a FB group for a family heirloom ring that was lost by a young lady at a dog beach on Treasure Island on July 6th. The ring was getting slippery on her finger and when she went to take it off and store it safely, she accidently dropped it into the water.

I attempted to searching the area where it was lost that morning, but the tide was high and current was strong. I just wasn’t able to make it out to where the ring was lost.

A couple of friends worked the area that evening at low tide, cleaning up all the junk (which also sounds like gold on a metal detector), but weren’t able to locate the missing ring. We were starting to worry that the ring may have been moved by the current, or worse, fell deeper into the channel.

I was on another recovery attempt on Treasure Island, but wasn’t having luck and running out of daylight, so I decided to try this recovery once more at low tide.

The small dog beach was mostly empty and the tide was low. I scanned the edge of the steep drop into the channel and after about 10 minutes hit a nice sounding signal. In the scoop was the lost ring!

I was able to meet up with Elaine at a nearby Starbucks who claimed the ring on behalf of the owner who had left for home (out of state) earlier in the day.

Custom Made Wedding Ring Recovered at Honeymoon Island

I began metal detecting around the time of the pandemic as a way to get out of the house for some exercise. I wasn’t a ring finder – I didn’t even know there was such a thing!

After getting through the learning curve – finding lots of trash, to identifying coins, then targeting jewelry and really learning my machine, I stumbled upon a post on Craigslist at the beginning of June, 2023. A post that another metal detectorist made on behalf of the gentleman, Jacques, who had lost his ring.

I felt this would be a good challenge – like a scavenger hunt with a metal detector and a chance to test my skill! I reached out to the person who made the post, who shared additional details with me and I was off on the hunt.

Jacques was an older gent who lost his ring in the water at Honeymoon Island on day 1 of his vacation. He spent the rest of his time trying to find his lost custom-made wedding ring, even renting a metal detector himself. He had seen another person metal detecting there the day the ring was lost and others had tried to find it, with no luck. Hope seemed to be running out that the ring was either found by someone or claimed by the sea forever.

I searched for this ring on 3 separate occasions, twice in June and finally found it on July 4th, 2023. It was a perfect day for metal detecting – beautiful weather and calm water. Jacques’ ring was the very first target I hit that day, but I didn’t recognize it as the one due to the photo that was provided and the condition of the ring from being in the water for over a month.

After I got home and cleaned up the ring, I consulted with some local friends – people with much more experience than I had and we determined it indeed was the ring Jacques had lost!

What came next would drastically change my metal detecting “hobby” to one of helping people recover lost items as a ring finder: the phone call to Jacques to let him know his ring had been found.

Words cannot described how happy Jacques was to hear the news after giving up hope his ring was lost forever! I had the ring packaged and overnighted to Jacques and he confirmed receiving it the next day.

I joined the ring finders group a few months later and truly enjoy helping reunite people with their lost items! I hope to be able to continue doing this as long as I am able.

Lost Pinky Ring in CDA Idaho… FOUND!!

The memories of David’s late mother were swimming around in his head, as David’s dad and David looked through his mom’s jewelry. Just as a bold three diamond gold ring came in view. David quickly recalled his mom wearing it. As if she was there putting it on for an outing David slipped it over his pinky ring seamlessly. There the ring had found a home again. The Ring went with David out to the back patio that night. As David picked up and threw a ball, the ring flew off David’s finger. Raking and using a cheap detector, David looked for his lost ring. After the ring eluded David, he found me on the Ring Finders. I picked up his call and made plans after work. How the ring was lost and where it might have gone were discussed. With the Minelab on, I made an arching grid. Within a few passes a 16-17 signal showed up. It wasn’t deep so I knew his ring could be in sight. That it was, I looked down and saw the ring.  We both were shocked and after photos we had a good chat about our past loved ones. Thank you man for the tip and trusting The Ring Finders.

Platinum Ring Recovery

I was contacted on 6/4/204 to find a lost Platinum Ring. Here’s her story

 

Last week – on the way out of town (literally the family was in the car) – I decided I needed to water my plants on the patio. A decision I’d come to regret. The cicada game was fierce and I was watering with my right hand and swatting them away with my left. And then, I felt my wedding ring fly off my finger. But I didn’t see where it went – and didn’t hear it hit the patio and land. I was sure it was in one of the four bushes there – but with a few minutes of checking we gave up and decided we’d look upon our return Sunday.

Well, after a several hour Sunday search and three bushes dismantled branch by branch – we gave up and decided to get professional help.

I contacted Jeremy Conrad Roth from The Ring Finders and he said he could be out within a day. 🥳

Then, to add more fun variables to a horrible situation – the lawn care came while I was away and mowed the lawn where the ring could’ve been even though I contacted them and canceled. 😡😭

But, the next day – after a few hours of completely selfless work on Jeremy’s part (and after I started to lose hope a little) Jeremy did not give up and went in for another check of the original suspect bush and saved the day!! HE FOUND MY RING!!!

I may have to plant some new bushes by the patio – but I have my ring back!! If you ever need help finding a lost item – call him!

Lost Gold Diamond Woman’s Ring in Lewis Center, OH. “FOUND”

I received a message about a lost Gold Diamond Women’s Ring. It was lost after placing the ring into her pocket, the same pocket she had a tissue in to wipe her daughters running nose. So as she pulled out the tissue the ring few out somewhere in the yard. We was able to schedule a time to complete a search. I search the yard and there was the ring hiding in the grass. She was happy to have the ring return to her.

Lost Engagement Ring in Kenner, Louisiana – FOUND

Joseph called and asked for help in finding his fiancé’s, Ingrid, lost engagement ring. They were having an argument, and she threw her diamond engagement ring across the street into his neighbor’s driveway or yard. Carrie and I loaded up our equipment the next morning for the 3-hour drive to the site. When we got to the house, we were early, and Ingrid had not arrived yet. We started a hunt in Joseph’s yard while waiting. We met the neighbor and received permission to hunt their yard. Ingrid arrived soon after. We talked to her some and then had her throw an assortment of rings and washers tied with plastic flagging tape. When I collected the flagged items, I saw the ring in plain view on the driveway. We reunited Ingrid with her ring, took pictures and headed home.
