Found Lost wedding ring Waikiki

I knew it wasn’t good when I got a call at 7:30am from Margaret and she was letting me know that the evening prior Matt went to take a swim in the beautiful pacific ocean and lost his wedding band! I was working and could’t get out there until 12:30pm. After talking to Margaret we agreeed to meet up after work! After work I headed out to the beach and met up with the couple. I felt confident that we would find the ring and asked the couple for more specifics concerning the time it was dropped, tide, and how far out! This search started around 1:00pm with high hopes and after I searched for awhile I asked Matt to come out and place himself in position as to where he believed the ring dropped. Well needless to say Margaret was on the beach signaling to us if we were in or out of position.  After an hour I look on the beach and see Margaret just frustrated when th her hands on her hips and I asked Matt to go back in and comfort his wife. Knowing very well that we are all on edge and would love nothing other than to get this lost ring found!  Knowing the importance of this ring I continued to grid. Well, when I started to feel like I need to let them know that let’s call it a day and I’ll come back on a low tide I hear a GREAT TONE! But it’s way away from the mark… like pushed almost to the very shore… so I dig it and there in the bottom of the xtreme scoop is Matt’s Gold wedding band! I’m so excited at this moment… I put the ring in my hand and head back to the couple as they are standing on the beach. I ask them if they have a picture of the ring and sure enough Margaret pulls out her phone and shows me the ring. They not knowing I found it I ask Margaret “would you like to replace your husbands wedding ring back on his finger?” They both looked surprised and yet have a bright smile on their faces. But said “ NO WAY!” And  They both stood there amazed and we all shed a few tears knowing that the ring is Found! Not to mention the beach was filled with tourist and local which all shared the JOY in Another happy couple and saved vacation / Anniversary!

Lost Platinum Wedding Ring Huntington Beach Found And Returned

I was on the way to the beach on Wednesday morning when I received a call from Steve who just lost his platinum wedding ring in the sand at Huntington beach. He was visiting with his family from Philadelphia. I told him that I could be there in an hour and fifteen minutes. Soon I was there and met him in the parking lot. I followed him to the beach chairs and began the search.  Within three minutes the ring was in my scoop and back on his finger.  He and his wife were ecstatic to be reunited with their wedding band. A few photos and a heart felt thank you and I was on my way.

Platinum and Gold 18k Wedding Ring Found… Sammamish, Washington!

Yesterday I received a call from a man, who had been digging a culvert to bury some wire going from his house through his backyard. While he was doing the work, he had taken off his wedding ring and put it in his pocket so he wouldn’t damage the ring. At some point in the day, he realized that the ring had fallen out of his pocket, and he was convinced that it had gone in the ditch with the wire, which he had reburied. This presented a real problem for me, as the wire would possibly mask out any signal from the ring if it was in the ditch. I searched along side of the culvert and over it, and occasionally got some signals which could have been the ring, but they always turned out to be the wire buried one foot down! After trying multiple metal detector types, I kept on reaching the same conclusion. If it had fallen in this ditch probably the only way to find it would be to un-bury the wire and start all over again. Likely the ring would be lost forever.

His mood and mine, were beginning to become less hopeful. At some point he mentioned maybe I should search in a completely new area, and I think he was leaning towards the idea of me quitting the search. He said “Why don’t you go and sweep the driveway really fast, I don’t think it would be up there but you never know.” I had basically come close to giving up, since I have been out there for a few hours with no luck. But I went and swept the gravel driveway with my larger coil metal detector.

After a few minutes, he rounded the corner with some money in hand, about to tell me I could go ahead and quit the search. But, when he reached out, I had something in my hand too! I had found the ring! It was barely buried in the gravel driveway. Likely, a car or two had run over it but it was in great shape still!

“You had the right idea! I’m glad you changed it up!” I exclaimed… he was incredulous and the whole family was besides themselves with excitement!

Sometimes it just isn’t where you thought it should be. It took nearly giving up the search, but luckily this hunt had a happy ending!

Lost Gold and Diamond Wedding Ring Set in Ocean .. Newport Beach, CA. . Found with Metal Detector

Jasmine called me four hours after losing both her gold /diamond engagement and wedding ring set in waist deep water at Newport Beach, CA.  She was home now, 50 miles from the beach. Jasmine could barely talk with out crying. It happen at a high tide which gave us a chance to find the rings at the next low tide (4:30am).

As we talked I believed I knew exactly where she had been when the loss occurred. I tried to be realistic about our chances to find the rings. I told The we had a 50/50 chance to find the rings because of the ever changing sand conditions. I’m so glad she sent me a photo of the large rock she had been near when she felt the two rings slip off her finger.  I would have waisted my time going to the wrong location. My plan was to start the search an hour before they met me the next morning at 6:00am.

I had to walk down a hillside walkway as the beach parking isn’t open till 6:00am.  After finding the large rock ( half the size of a house), I started my grid now that it was low tide. Walk straight out on the north of the rock.Just as I got to ankle deep water I got my first signal. “Boom” the big 1.7 ct. diamond engagement ring. Three feet away another much fainter signal but it was a solid tone and it was the yellow gold wedding band with diamonds. 

I met Jasmine and her husband John in the parking lot where I ask her to point out the rock and describe the rings. 

Then I immediately held up her rings. Tears of joy and John kept saying over and over “ I can’t believe it” He almost didn’t come to  meet me because he believed it was impossible to find rings lost in the waves for almost 18 hours.

We had a great talk and they were home probably before 10:00am to enjoy the rest of the day. These ring searches in the ocean surf seem to be successful in cycles. I’ve had several recoveries in a row but then there have been times when they just don’t want to be found, sometimes the people are not sure when or if the ring came off in the water. Also there are times when Mother Nature just will not co-operate, the sand and currents can not be predicted.  You can’t find them if you don’t try.

Lost Wedding Ring Found! – Cedar Grove, WI

When it comes to rings, the North American Great Lakes rank high as ring-eating monsters. And Lake Michigan gulped down yet another precious love token the week of June 24th when Petersburg, Illinois, residents Joe and Alissa Bilyeu were vacationing at Amsterdam Park near Cedar Grove, Wisconsin.

Somewhere during the construction of a sandcastle, Joe’s platinum wedding ring was slurped off his hand into the abyss of sand and water. A frantic search proved fruitless. The couple departed for home with heavy hearts at having lost the precious token of their recent marriage.

I received a text message from Joe asking if I might conduct a search. My work schedule prevented doing so immediately; the soonest I could make the 63 mile drive from my home in Waukesha to Cedar Grove was late on Friday. My wife, Kathleen, came along for the ride. Upon arrival at Amsterdam Park, Lake Michigan was pounding the shoreline with waves approaching 3’ high. Only faint traces of Bilyeu’s sand castle remained. The throbbing deluge had nearly obliterated all signs of it.

First I checked the shoreline dry sand. Then I switched machines and bracing myself against the waves I began searching the lake bottom with my trusty Minelab Excalibur SCUBA detector. After nearly an hour working against the punishing rollers a faint signal in chest-deep water invited excavation. But the wave action quickly filled the hole making it necessary to work quickly to gain on the target. At last, the Lake Michigan Monster was forced to relinquish its treasure; Joe’s platinum ring lay safe in my sieve.

I quickly texted a photo to Joe in Illinois. His response? “Holy Cow that’s it!! OMG thank you so much!!” And arrangements were made to send the ring back to its happy owner.

Thanks, Joe, for the awesome privilege of retrieving your ring. It’s just one more ring the Lake Michigan Ring Monster won’t get to digest. May your ring’s story continue for many, many happy years together.

Lost Heirloom Gold Ring at the Beach in Sand .. Recovered Next Day

I received a call from John Paul, asking how TheRingFinders service works. He was curious if I could help him find a ring that his friend , Jason had lost on the beach.  I explained to him hoe well metal detectors can find rings if he could get me to the general area. 

John Paul has recently move to California from back east. He and his friends had rented these electrics scooters that are very popular at SoCal beach cities. They are set up with an app on his cellphone that gave him the exact location of where the parked the scooters at midnight. When they walked out on the sand to take a quick swim in the ocean. Jason put his heirloom gold ring in his had on the upper beach and forgot to take it out when they finished.

The next morning Jason realized the special ring that had been passed down for more than three generations was somewhere on the beach. He was devastated and sure it was impossible to find. His friend John Paul went to the internet to inquire about metal detector information. That’s how he contacted me. I told him we could give it a try but it would be couple hours till I could meet him.

That was perfect with him and we met and he showed me the possible location. He was not sure and that was ok with me because I have learned that many people can’t remember where they were on these large sandy beaches. I eliminated aloud 400 square feet of dry sand finding a few coins before getting the magic gold tone I was listening for. One scoop was what it took to find Jason’s ring only 3 inches under the soft sand. John Paul was ecstatic breaking into big smile. Jason was not there, he had total given up staying back at the house. So, John Paul,immediately called Jason with the good news. It was John Paul’s persistence and caring for his friend that made this turn out to be a special event that makes me grateful to be a member of TheRingFinders.

Lost Silver & Gold Ring Found In South Bethany Beach Delaware

On 07/08/18, I received a call from Shanti requesting my help in finding her silver & gold ring that had been lost on the beach in South Bethany Beach Delaware. Shanti asked if I was available to come to the beach to search for her ring right away because the tide was coming in. I told Shanti that I would be at the beach in about twenty minutes to look for her ring. When I arrived at the beach, Shanti told me that she had placed her ring in a pocket of her shorts which had been laid on a beach chair. Shanti said that the beach chair and the shorts had been moved from their original location on the beach to a second location and that after the chair and shorts had been moved her ring was no longer in the pocket of her shorts. Shanti said that the ring could be in the sand at either of the two locations. I began the search for the ring at the original location and as I started to swing my detector the ring revealed itself buried at about an inch in the sand. The ring was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. Shanti was delighted to have her ring back.

Wedding Rings Lost At Indian Beach, NC Found

A young couple, Kelly and her husband, were spending their vacation at Indian Beach, NC.  This is becoming an annual tradition.

Their enjoyment quickly became a panic moment when the beach chair Kelly had placed her wedding set in turned over and the rings spilled into the soft sand.  The couple, from Northern Ohio, found The Ring Finders and called me to assist.  I was currently about 3 hours away but changed my course to head directly to them.  When I arrived on the beach, Kelly had purchased a metal detector from a retail store and was out trying to find her lost rings.  After a brief discussion I began my search.  Seconds later my 1st and 2nd targets were the lost rings!

I received a call from a gentleman whose wife had lost her wedding and engagement rings on a beach a few miles from my house. The problem was that I was out of town on vacation and couldn’t help, or could I? I put a call out to a few fellow detectorists who turned out to be unavailable but after checking the directory I found another Ring Finder who was about an hour and half away and recommended a call to him. Long story short, he made the trip down the coast and recovered the rings the next morning. Goes to show,  you should always call a Ring Finder first.

Lost Ring, Night Find, Pensacola Beach – FOUND!

I love to find rings at night!!!  There’s something about that cool breeze and the stars in the sky that make it that much better  😃  I got an email last night about 8pm explaining to me that Matt and his wife had been out on Pensacola Beach all day enjoying the Gulf and especially the Blue Angels as they rehearsed for the upcoming show this weekend.  Matt had put up a tent and taken off his shoes.  Unfortunately, his wife put her diamond and white gold engagement band in one of his shoes and forgot to tell him.  When the family ended the day and headed towards the parking lot Matt popped his shoes together on the boardwalk to knock off the sand.  When an inexpensive ring came out he asked if she had put her rings in the shoe and she said, “oh yeah, hand me my engagement ring” 😳😳😳.  Well you can guess where this story goes next. First Matt decided to rent a metal detector and actually did a great job removing all of the bottle caps and pop tops from the area ( I appreciate that 😉).  Unfortunately those machines are just not built to find anything made of precious metal around saltwater or after it has dropped deeper in the sand.  In fact when they finally called me and I came out, you could see his tracks where he had gone directly over the spot with the rental detector.  It didn’t take long once I finally got to the beach and I’m very glad I got to return such an important ring.  Thanks for letting me help you out Matt!
