Diamond Engagement Ring Lost in Ocean During Photo Shoot .. Laguna Beach, CA.

….  Sukhm had proposed to Banpreet at beautiful Laguna Beach, CA. beach. They had a photographer record the moment. The photographer suggested they set the engagement ring in the wet sand for a photo with them in the background. An unexpected wave came up and the ring disappeared below the sand. I’m posting a copy of Banpreet’s side of the story below.

My fiance had just finished his proposal to me and we were beginning to take pictures with my new ring. We were attempting to take a picture with the ring in the sand and as our photographer was focusing-in on the ring, a wave came and swept the ring away. Our photographer frantically began to dig around the area to look for the ring, and my fiance immediately jumped into the water. I followed him and we were both waist deep in the water, grabbing at anything that felt like it could be my ring but would only turn out to be shells and debri every time. 30 minutes passed and we still couldn’t find the ring, my worst nightmare was becoming a reality and as the sun began to set, I started to believe that my ring was gone forever. 

I called my brother and asked him what we should do and he googled Ring Finders and Stanley was the closest to our location. My brother contacted him and before he could hang up the phone, Stanley was already on his way to us. Stanley arrived quickly with all of his equipment and began searching the area. We watched as Stanley scanned over the area where we lost the ring. Within a minute he scooped up the sand, and nodded his head with a smile. My fiance jumped up and shouted “No way!” Stanley found our ring! We were overjoyed and both embraced Stanley. 

Stanley truly has a talent for locating valuables and allowed us to have our happy ending. He was very kind, professional and helpful. We will always remember how he helped us during one of the most stressful situations in our life. We highly recommend him to anyone who loses something valuable. Thank you Stanley!

Karen was at a small beach in Huntington Harbor when she lost her Cartier Wedding Ring. She tried combing through the sand for a while without any luck.

Another resident helped her by posting her loss on social media and that’s when my friend tagged me on the post and I shared my info so she could reach out to me.

Karen called me a short time later with details about her loss and said she could meet me in an hour. I decided to go and try to find the ring right away without waiting for her.

I got lucky and started in the right place because I found her ring in about 5 minutes. I called her to verify that I had the correct ring. She met me at my house to pick up her ring and let me know how thankful she was.

Lost Necklace found in Calgary

I received a call from Susan who was quite distraught about losing her necklace. The one she bought when she was 21. Now, 43 years later, the necklace was lost when she swiped at our seriously nasty mosquitoes. After searching herself using a rake in the grass she looked for help and found me.  I came out the next day and she brought me to where she lost it. She knew where it was because she marked the path with a chalk X (Brilliant!) The path turned out to be the paved path that travels the length of the provincial park in our city. Dozens, even hundreds of people used the path between when the necklace was lost and when I arrived.  Susan began her own search and I set up my detector to search the grass along the edge of the path. I had barely begun when I caught a glint of gold on the pathway. I pulled out my camera and captured the moment when she received her necklace.

The evening of July 25/20, I lost my necklace in Fish Creek Park, Calgary. On a Google search I found Evan’s name, and phoned him the next afternoon.
Evan met me in the park a couple of hours after phoning him.  I did have the location marked where I lost my necklace, and with Evan’s experience,  found it in no time.  Evan is a skilled professional, who genuinely cares.  I felt very comfortable around him.  I highly recommend Evan’s services.

I recently received an email from Nathan who accidentally lost his ring while in waist deep water at Torrey Pines beach. After a couple emails and a phone call we set up an appointment to meet at the beach where it was lost 5 days prior.

  Nathan and his father brought beach chairs to enjoy the morning and help point me in the  direction out in the surf.. which was very helpful to this recovery. Beforehand,I explained that I often will find a lost ring pretty quickly but some searches can require hours or days before being recovered.

Low and behold…After swinging patiently for nearly 3hrs in strong current,choppy shore break and Stepping on 1 stingray,I finally get a strong signal in roughly shin deep water,Took a few scoops down and out came Nathan’s ring!

I received an email in regards to a ring that may have been lost at New Brighton Park in Vancouver. The young lady sent me a picture of the area and a picture of the ring that was lost. I asked her to call me to discuss the search and she did, I immediately went to the location where the ring had been lost the day before to search the dry sand and also check the low tide where he did take a couple of dunks in the ocean. The dry sand was hammered with fire pits and lots of metal, tin can lids, nails… After doing my grid search in the dry I moved to the low tide and started searching the rocky area of the beach.

After about 45 minutes I received a good signal close to the waterline and to my surprise I found his beautiful gold ring! The young couple were not there to show me the area, I took a nice picture of the ring and sent it to them via text message. Within seconds they had replied that’s the ring!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They sent me their address and I dropped off the ring and met the young couple, they were so grateful and so happy to have that ring back! After talking for a little bit she went on to tell me that this was the second time they had used my service, a week before they had asked me to search a park where her husband believed he had lost his ring. I searched for 3 1/2 hours but no ring, I told them to put up some lost posters in the area and not to give up the search and to check their house. 45 minutes later I got a call that the ring was found in the house. This happens more than you know, the most important thing is the ring was found, the sad thing was it was lost again a week later!

Yarmouth Beach Lost Ring Found & Returned Cape Cod, Massachusetts

One facet that I love about my hobby is meeting many people. Maurice is one I will never forget. His true feelings for his heritage going back to the Wampanoag Tribe on Cape Cod to his love for a cherished ring that belonged to his grandmother kept me wanting to hear and learn from his words.
What a wonderful story he has about his heritage from the original inhabitants of Cape Cod and their trading, bartering and relationships with other tribes as far away as New York. All this information went along with the fact the larger ring was his grandmother’s who had raised him.

Maurice’s grandmother’s ring along with another ring were dislodged from his little finger while playing in the seaweed with his 5 year old daughter. He searched for the two rings until sunburned.
The next morning he was back searching again. His personality engaged other beach goers to help in the search. The one that helped the most was Sue, the Yarmouth beach’s gate attendant. She remembered The Ring Finder from a ring I returned last year. This lead to our contact. A half an hour later I was ready for the search. Within 15 minutes I had retrieved the smaller band, and anther 5 minutes the second ring was in my scoop. The search and recovery was made easy with Maurice knowing when and where the rings slipped from his finger. The entire beach came alive with cheers and smiles as Maurice removed and showed his grandmother’s, one of a kind, ring.

Maurice and his family left the beach for a Cape Cod lunch and continue enjoying their sea shore adventure form the distant hills of Westfield.

First ring search was a success! Geneva Illinois.

I received a email this morning from Lynne informing me that her and her husband were playing catch with a baseball in a large field near a church. When they returned home her husband Kyle noticed that his wedding ring was missing. After returning to the field six times in two days to search for the lost ring Lynne’s father found The Ring Finders online. We set up a time this afternoon to meet up after work. After a short introduction Kyle gave me a quick description of where they were playing catch. So i turned on my Equinox 800 and within 10-15 minutes I got a solid 18 signal right on the surface. While using my pinpointer to do a quick surface check the ring flipped up out from underneath a leaf.

Scott called me yesterday morning requesting my service to locate his wife’s earring. After asking Scott a few questions I agreed to meet around 2:30 pm.

His wife, Isis, had been brushing her hair outside, felt the earring come off, and then had heard a ping sound. I searched the possible area for the earring and moved some rocks. With my pin pointer I was able to locate the earring underneath the rocks. I called Isis over and showed her where I found the earring. She was very happy to have her earring back as the earring had been in her possession for a very long time.

Lost Diamond Ring, Ma Me O Beach, Alberta, Canada.

I received a call from Noreen on June 24th regarding a diamond ring that her mother Edna had lost while out swimming in the lake the day before.  After asking Noreen a few questions I agreed to drive out to the lake the next day.

June 25:  I arrived at Ma Me O Beach and met Noreen and her mother Edna, at the cabin. Noreen showed me the area that they were in the lake swimming. The area was huge, approximately the size of a football field. I told Noreen that the search was going to be tough, almost like looking for a needle in a hay stack!

The search took me over four sand bars which were waist deep, and chest deep between each bar. It was good that Noreen had pictures of her mother on a float tube and this gave me a good reference point to start my search.  I searched the area for about four hours and called it a day. I told Noreen I would be back the following day.

July 26:  I decided to do an early morning search because the lake would be smooth like a sheet of glass which made it a pleasant time to search. The water was clear so I was able to see the sandy bottom.  Noreen also wanted to assist in the search so I gave her my backup detector.  We went over the search area that I did the previous day and had no luck. The weather forecast for the next few days was not good; the lake would be very rough and impossible to do a good search.

July 3:  The Lake was calm and a nice day for a search.  After studying the pictures and checking my GPS tracking I decided on an area but again had no luck.  My equinox 800 developed problems so I changed to my 3030 and proceeded to search, again with no luck.

 

July 11:  A very busy day at the lake with lots of people out.   We covered a huge area with no luck.

 

July 16:  I expanded my search area.  I must say for a busy lake the bottom was very clean with hardly any junk in the lake. Again, another day with no luck.

 

July 21:  I regrouped with Noreen and her brother Dan and asked again the same questions which I had asked before.  I must have sounded like a broken record to them but it was very important to me. Again we did a thorough search of the area and again no luck. I could tell Noreen and Dan where starting to doubt if the ring was ever going to be found. I told them I would find that ring and that it just takes time. Edna said to me that the ring is gone and someone else was going to find it. I told her if someone was going to find it that would be me.  That helped to reassure Edna.  Edna had just celebrated her 93rd birthday on the day she lost her ring.  The ring had been given to her by her father and had been on her finger for the past 60+ years.

 

July 26:  I did a weather check and the lake was rough, but the day was expected to be a nice so I decided to head out again.  When I arrived, the lake was rough so I waited it out and by noon the wind died down so we were able to search again.  I told Noreen that I was going to find the ring today if I had to stay in the lake all day!  Two hours into the search I received a loud tone followed by a sweet low tone.  Music to my ears! I knew it could be the ring.  I scooped it up and to my surprise there was the ring!  I walked over to Noreen and asked her if this was “IT”.  She could not believe that I had found her mother’s ring after so many hours in the lake searching.  What a wonderful feeling that was for me to be able to see Edna put the ring back on her finger.

Engagement Ring Recovered in Belmar NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Sitting home I got a call from Madison. While at the beach she took off her wedding set to put lotion on herself and 2 year old daughter, and put them on her toes thinking they’d be safe. Forgetting they were there she got up to walk her daughter down to the water to put their feet in and cool off. Then she remembered her rings but it was to late. Going back to her towels she found her wedding band next to the towel but not the engagement ring. Took the ride down and luckily it was a week day and was able to park pretty close to the beach. Met Madison and she showed me where she was sitting seeing she moved over a few feet, someone let her use an umbrella to keep her daughter out of sun. Started looking and about 7 feet from where I started I found her ring. A happy ending to a beautiful beach day.
