Lost Gold Texas A&M Aggie Class Ring in Laurel, Maryland…Found in Snow by Ring Finder!

The Eastern coast had an entertaining snowstorm the week of Sunday January 13th. Our area got around 11 to 13 inches of snowfall. For our area of Maryland, D.C. and Virginia that’s pretty significant! I got a call the day after the storm from a nice young man named Rohit, living in the Laurel, Maryland area. He sent me a text and left a voicemail message around 11am sounding quite distressed about what had happened to his ring. He said in the text, “Hi Brian, my name is Rohit and I lost my univelost ring in snow, Laurel MD gold university ring, Brian - The Ring Returner finds ring in snowUniversity Ring Found by Brian Rudolph, lost ring in snow, lost and foundrsity ring in the snow, yesterday night in Laurel. I found you through The Ring Finders service on Google. Do you think you can help me find it today?”

I immediately called Rohit and scheduled to meet him near the location of where he lost the ring. It turned out that he was taking a walk in the snow with a friend around a community lake late at night during the snowstorm. Rohit recalled to me that he remembered making his way up a snowy hill when he slipped and he believed his Texas A&M University ring slipped off his finger at that point. He searched for a good long while with his friend in desperation of recovering his very special gold ring that he obtained upon graduating with a doctorate degree at Texas A&M University. Unfortunately, to no avail, and Rohit was empty handed that night. He said he barely could sleep as he thought about the possibility of not retrieving his priceless reward for all his hard work over the past many years.

As I shared, the snow fell heavily the night before and we had quite a bit on the ground and on the roads. But I managed to get over to his Laurel, Maryland housing development and met him over on the other side of the lake where he lost the ring. Rohit walked me between some houses overlooking the lake and over to the hill where he believed that the ring was lost. After asking him a long list of questions, I agreed

that it was best to start the search in the vicinity of where he was most certain that he lost the ring. I started at the top of the hill and then worked my way down. I was so hoping that there wasn’t too much traffic of people walking the same path after the snowfall. There were quite a few boot tracks left in the snow from the night before and in the morning.

Within no time, as I neared the bottom of the hill, my detector picked up a signal that matched what a heavy University gold ring would match up to. I didn’t even need to dig in the snow because just as I bent down to have a look at what my detector was picking up, I saw a glimpse of gold coming through the ice! It was Rohit’s beloved ring! I was so happy that I found it for him! It probably took less than 10 minutes of searching! As he was holding some of my photography equipment, I requested that he come down the hill and take a look at what I discovered. I know Rohit was getting excited as he took each step towards where I was standing. And just as he reached the place where I was standing, a huge smile came on his face

moments earlier! It was just the best scene to see him reunited with his university ring!

I was so happy for him and I was overjoyed at being able to return such a priceless possession back to the hand that had worn it so proudly

I am confident that if Rohit had waited much longer to call me and if I was not able to get out when I did to try to find the ring, someone else would have discovered his ring because as the photos reveal, it was a large shiny gold ring for any eye to easily behold! Enough boots had walked over it so that some of the gold was already peeking through the snow and ice.

Once we got back to my car I invited him to take a seat on the passenger side so I could drive him back to his place. I had no idea that he was going to walk around the entire lake to meet me earlier! Now, he was returning back home with his ring which was returned to his finger! He gave me a big bear hug

Engagement Ring Found in Middlebury Vermont

Got a message from a lady who had lost her engagement ring last Wednesday. Her company does business with companies scattered around Vermont and New York and she makes frequent visits to them. The day she lost her ring, she had been to four large companies in the same town. She had taken off her rings and put them in her purse. After leaving the 4th place, she realized her engagement ring had fallen out of her purse. Over the next few days, she contacted all the companies, went back to search for it, searched inside her car, called the police and put lost ads in the media.

Her husband knew about my detecting service and suggested she call The Ring Finders. She called and wondered whether it would be worth searching, considering it could be anywhere or even taken home by someone else already. I knew searches like this are not very promising, but I told her I would try hard for her. With more snow in the forecast, it would be best to search asap.

So, I went that evening, even though the winds were gusting to 60 mph and it was cold. I have snowmobiling clothes! I figured on a late night and at least one or two return trips to find it. The day she lost it, it was snowing, so I started around the edges of the first parking lot, scanning all the snowbanks that the plows may have pushed it into. All I got was many junk signals, most were deep in ice. Then I tried the snowbanks along the edge of the walkway leading from the building. I got a good signal about 4’ from the walkway, dug a couple inches into the snow and there it was! Whoever had shoveled had unknowingly thrown it there in a shovelful of snow.

It was so nice to hear that a lot of good people in those companies were helping look for it, it’s too bad they didn’t find it. Because it was hidden in the snow, it came down to the need of an experienced person running a metal detector to be successful.

I love giving a ring back to someone who doubted they would ever see it again, I love to see the feelings of relief and happiness.

Lost wedding ring Waikiki FOUND!

It was around 9:00pm when I checked my email and noticed that Dan reached out and said he lost his ring in the water. I called Dan and started to get as much info as possible to help narrow down the search site. And as I gathered the info I started to get the equipment together and pack up the truck. I started to check the tides and make sure I would be able to complete this recovery. This lost ring was a Platnuim ring which would be in the chest deep area. After talking to dan we agreed to meet up at the beach in 45 minuets. I  talked to my dad who was over the house visiting his grandkids about the lost ring and he decided to come along for the ride.

When we arrived we all met up and Dan showed us the general location.  We prayed and talked about my signals I would use concerning if I found the ring or I dug up something else. We all understood our part and we all went our separate ways… Dan and my dad went to opposite sides of the beach to mark out the boundaries. I start up the old faithful Excalibur 2 and started to make my search. Knowing I need to get out as deep as possible because the tide is on the rise. I make a bee line straight for the deep. After 5 minutes of gridding as I walk out I get a loud PLATNUIM TONE ! I dug it up and there in the EXTREME SCOOP IS A PLATNUIM BAND. I turn on my head lamp and read the inscription inside… it says Tiffany and company. So, I motion to Dan that I found a ring. I yell out to dan “ what’s inscribed inside your ring?” Dan yells out” I think Tiffany and company “ And that’s when I yelled out of pure JOY… we found it! I gave a loud shout of excitement and we all rejoiced as we walked toward one another. When I presented Dan his ring I could see the relief on his face as well his demeanor. We all shared in this recovery and knowing GOD was working on all of us collectively to trust HIM. We embraced and we all agreed that Dan should get home and share this blessing with his beautiful wife!

Lost White Gold Cross at Waimanalo Beach…FOUND!!!

This Christian Cross hunt began when I got a call from Eli who hails from Kansas and is a Marine stationed at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. While enjoying a picnic at the beach he took off his White Gold Cross and laid it on a towel. Later when he went to retrieve his necklace he found the chain but the cross had disappeared. It was getting dark but several of his Marine buddies pitched in but they couldn’t locate the cross. After posting on a lost and found website he was contacted by a gentleman who told him to try “Theringfinders”. We agreed to meet at the nearby McDonalds and then drove down to the beach. It was already dark so I brought my headlamp and Eli brought a flashlight. In the dark it was difficult to pinpoint the exact area so I decided to do an expanded search. It was a rather sterile beach except a buried firepit that was booming with metal trash right smack in the middle of the search area. I eliminated all the possible targets then moved on. I could see Eli was losing hope as I was down to my last grid line after 40 minutes of searching. Then finally I got a number 1/2 on the Equinox and I looked down and there sticking up out of the sand was one of the arms of the cross. It was glinting in the light of my headlamp so I bent over picked it up and handed it to Eli. He was overcome with joy as it was looking hopeless. Had the cross fallen a few more inches toward the water the tide surge from the night before would have swallowed up the cross and it wouldn’t have been found without a miracle in the water. Eli was extremely grateful as we bid each other so long. Aloha to Eli and Mahalo for your service to this great nation.

Lost Platinum Ladies Ring With Diamonds Found in the Snow in Royal Oak Michigan

Just got back from a night search for this very nice, pictured couple. They were at the hospital tonight visiting an ill loved one and walking back to the car she pulled her gloves off and 2 pieces of her 3 piece ring came off in about 4″-5″ of snow that came down yesterday. They found the main piece and when I got on site they had been searching thru the snow with gloved hands and flashlights for the thinner ring. There was some lights but seeing was more enhanced by the big snow supermoon shining from above giving the glistening snow a sparkly surface. She had the matching ring so I took a read with the MXT from different directions and got +6 and +8. I started to scan and grid at 90 deg swings in the trajectory from where she was standing and where they found the other matching ring. She had gone to the car to double check if the ring was in there and him and I kept searching.
I got a few iron and foil signals and after a few minutes I got a +6 and +8 but very short signals. Probing the snow with the Garrett carrot revealed this beautiful thin platinum band tipped at a 45 deg angle just as she got into the car. I said I got it and he yelled to her and we waved our hands and arms in the air to get her attention. She excitedly ran back to us and happily grasped the ring and quickly put it back on! The temporary loss of the sentimental ring, the excitement of the search and quick recovery got our heart rates up really high but now 3 beating hearts are all back in the normal range again!

Lost Gold & Diamond Band at Nai’a Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Janet from Montana who was celebrating her 25th Anniversary with her husband Luis at the Marriott Ko Olina. While snorkeling in Nai’a Lagoon, Luis spotted some Anuenue fish and in his excitement his stunning Gold & Diamond Band came off in about 10 feet of water. He had his wits about himself to immediately locate where he was in the water. He noticed he was about 10 feet from the swim buoy anchor however the water on the bottom was murky and he couldn’t see his ring. When they got ashore and spoke to the concierge she said to give “Joe” a call and he should be able to recover it for you. We met on the beach the next morning and Luis gave me the details to the ring coming off. When the sun was shining on the lagoon I commenced my scuba hunt. The buoy anchor is easy enough to find so I started the hunt. I immediately found a silver ring. Fanning out from the buoy anchor I found a few more targets but the area was silting up fast and it was difficult to navigate. After about 40 minutes I was getting ready to give up when several feet from the anchor I got a screaming low tone on the Excalibur. Sure enough one sweep of my hand and Luis’ Gold Ring appeared. It was quite a bit farther then expected from the anchor but at least it was now found. I still had plenty of air so I hunted the lagoon a bit more finding a silver band and a gold plated heart ring. When I got ashore I called Luis and Janet and told them the good news. We met on the beach for the return and after a few hugs I knew the Anniversary was saved. Aloha to Luis & Janet!

Lost Heirloom/Engagement Ring Found! –Sheboygan Falls, WI

Life can change in an instant! This proved true for Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, resident Rebecca Rabideaux on the morning of February 12th. It happened the moment she realized her diamond engagement ring was missing from her hand. The ring was also a family heirloom; it had once belonged to her grandmother. Now it was gone.

A sickening feeling whelmed up inside Rebecca as her mind went into a high-speed rewind mode; she tried to envision her every move in the past few days. The ring had been fitting loosely of late, the happy result of shedding some unwanted weight. Nightmarish scenarios flashed across her mind’s screen; the kitchen sink drain, the toilet, the garbage…

One memory sent Rebecca and her fiancé, Drew Wojciehowski, scurrying outside to the driveway with its waist-high piles of snow on either side. Rebecca recalled brushing snow off her car there early one morning. She was in a hurry and hadn’t put her gloves on. Anyone familiar with our North American winter conditions knows how the cold can shrink one’s fingers. Was Rebecca’s ring the victim of a perfect storm—a loose fit made worse by frigid exposure?

Despite their best search efforts, Rebecca and Drew could not locate the missing love token. The next day I received a phone call from Drew asking if I would conduct a search. He had located me on The Ring Finders website. We arranged to meet at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16th. In the meantime, I urged Drew to keep his fingers and toes crossed!

After an hour and half drive from my home in Waukesha, WI, I arrived in the picturesque city of Sheboygan Falls. When I pulled up in front of the house, Drew was already outside waiting for me.

I left my metal detecting equipment in the car, introduced myself to Drew and listened to his account of where Rebecca’s vehicle was when she brushed snow off it with her bare hand. The garage door was open as he talked and my experienced eyes were already glancing over his shoulder, scanning the snow banks, the driveway and the garage floor. Imagine my surprise when on the concrete just inside the garage I spotted Rebecca’s ring! I walked over, picked it up, and handed it to Drew saying, “I’m thinking this is probably what you are looking for!”

Drew’s jaw dropped as I placed Rebecca’s gorgeous diamond ring into the palm of his cupped hand! Mission accomplished! Drew couldn’t believe they missed seeing it! As for me, this successful ring search ranks second in time only to a ring I once spotted for a client before I even got out of my car!

I’m so glad to have found your ring, Rebecca! And my best wishes on your upcoming wedding to Drew on October 5th—may the story of your ring continue with many, many happy years together.

A stunning white gold and sapphire ring was lost in a North Stonington resident’s yard last summer. A couple of months after family members searched on their hands and knees, the ring owner found my profile online and reach out for help. Lost White Gold Wedding Band in Honu Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got an email Wednesday night from Pat who lives on Oahu. During a family visit from Seattle they decided to enjoy a day at Ko Olina Lagoons. Pat was snorkeling towards his sister when his white gold wedding band came off his finger in about six feet of water. He could see the ring lying in the sand at the bottom but when he dove down to get it the ring disappeared into the soft white sand. Another gentleman joined in to help but all the sand fanning wouldn’t expose the ring to them. Pat went ashore and was frantically trying to find an underwater metal detector to rent when he found TheRingFinders. After which he sent the email. I called Pat and told him I could meet him at the lagoons Friday morning to search for the ring. I decided it would be best for scuba because I can cover more ground in water deeper then my head that way. Pat showed me the general area and I started my search. After about 45 minutes and the search area complete I found only a few coins and two rings but not Pat’s. We consulted on the beach as to what direction to continue and Pat thought maybe since he was going towards his sister I should continue that direction also. It paid off. About ten minutes later I got a booming tone on the Excalibur and with one scoop of my hand there was Pats wedding ring. I popped up and yelled to Pat on the shoreline. “Got it!” Pat was extremely relieved and said his wife would be just as happy as he was at that moment. Best hobby in the world! Aloha to Pat!
