lost Gold Chain + Rings found in Fairhaven, Mass

A friend on Facebook sent me a listing of a Gold chain with a diamond butterfly lost that had 3 rings on it at the beach. After reaching out to Alyssa, she finally got back to me after a few days. We chatted about what I do and how it was lost. She had mentioned that for me not to bother to travel so far because she said a couple of other guys had searched high and low for them to no avail. We agreed that maybe someone had seen them on the sand and possibly picked them up.

I again reached out about four days later and told Alyssa that when I got over that way I would check the area in question and went over that day again. I asked if she had gone into the water, she replied no just to the waters edge. She did mention that she walked up to the bathing houses on her way out that day.

Two month’s had gone by. It was honestly haunting me, to know that such a precious set of rings and a gold butterfly chain was just possibly sitting in the sand without no one looking for them any longer. I keep a list of NON found things on my desk. I looked at that note everyday. I decided to make the trip yesterday. I searched the area in question for an hour, I was almost up to the parking lot, but still in the path sand area, when I got that familiar low tone. I dug down, and out popped a Gold ring, still didn’t look familiar. I checked the hole and another low tone, and again out popped two more gold rings and they were attached to a beautiful gold diamond butterfly chain. Now I was smiling. I knew I had Alyssa’s precious rings. The best part is that she had not even known that I went to look for them.

I contacted her again through Facebook and I am happy to say she is reunited with them once again. Never give up, in this case keeping notes and persistence paid off. On a side note to the story, Shawn was off the hook, he apparently was the one who had them in his shirt, and dropped them. Congratulations Alyssa on your return. Sincerely Leighton

Lydia was getting ready to return home to Virginia after visiting her grandmother Mary Jane and other family and friends in Avalon, NJ when she realized her engagement ring and wedding band weren’t on her finger. She was on the beach earlier in the day and forgot to put them back on before packing up. Mary Jane was referred to me by her friend Jen and called me shortly after they realized the rings were lost in the sand. I met them approximately 20 minutes later and started to search the area where they thought the rings might be. I had to expand the search out a little farther and found both a few minutes later! It was a emotional ending and great feeling to recover the sentimental rings.

Bayville NJ Lost wedding band in the grass Recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder September 29 2022

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)
Mary sent me a message about a lost wedding band. She explained that her husband Kyle was washing the cars and his wedding ring had disappeared. He searched the cars, flower beds by the hose, and all around in the grass. They even tried with a metal detector and had no luck. I arranged to meet at the house after work the next day. After talking with Kyle about where the ring could possibly be, he went inside and told me to just ring the bell. He barley had closed the door when my machine gave a tone that was without a doubt his ring. I rang the bell and the look on his face was priceless. Later on after the recovery I found out Kyle and I share the same birthday, Happy Birthday Kyle, this was a great day for sure.

Randy reached out to me for help to find his son, Alex’s, lost 18k white gold Cartier LOVE Ring.
The ring flew off Alex’s finger while he was throwing a football to a friend on the field at Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA. I met Alex at the field and started the search where he thought it may have landed. After looking for awhile, I expanded the search farther down the field. After another 30 minutes of gridding, the ring was found!

Lost Gold and Diamond Ring at Kuhio Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Alberto asking if I was able to help us in Waikiki find a ring?  I was just finishing up work and decided to call and see what the circumstances were.  Alberto on vacation from Santa Monica, California said that while crab walking in the water with his 4 year old Niece his friend Andrew’s Gold & Diamond ring came off in shallow water at Kuhio Beach.  They searched for about four hours with no luck.  I told Andrew I’d head home and grab my detecting gear and be there in about 30 minutes.  When I arrived Andrew & Alberto met me on the beach to show me the area they believed the ring came off.  Alberto helped by being a grid marker out in the water for me.   As I was working shoreward Alberto said he didn’t think the ring would be any closer to the shore and that I should probably extend the search out to the east and deeper.  I hadn’t even found a target yet this beach was sterile.  As I was heading deeper Alberto said maybe just about ten feet more.  After that I turned around and started the inbound leg when I got a booming tone 12-13-14 on the Nox.  I scooped twice but missed the target I was thinking this might be a small piece of can slaw but the target was still in the same spot.  On the third try I had the target in the scoop and “BINGO” it was Andrew’s ring.  I could instantly see the relief on Andrew’s face as I told them I found it.  They both agreed,  The vacation was saved!  Aloha to Andrew & Alberto!

How to find gold with a metal detector

I got a phone call from a young man who lost a special pendant with his name on it, he lost it at a picture and put golf course at Central Park in Burnaby. His gold chain got caught on his golf bag and broke the clasp and he lost a gold cross and his gold pendant. He remembered this happen at the 14th hole but didn’t realize it had broken until he got to the 16th hole when he felt his chain fall off his neck, he looked around and went back to the 15th hole where he teed off and found his gold cross by a bench but he couldn’t find the pendant with the name ”Marshall” on it.

He search for a while but it was getting too dark so he packed it up went home, he remembered seeing a story about John Cryer who lost his ring here in Vancouver and that’s how he found TheRingFinders. We talked about the chances of finding this pendent but he couldn’t meet me there in the morning to show me his movements because he had to work. I knew it was three holes 14,15 and 16 so I got out there first thing in the morning and walked around to see if I could eyeball the gold pendent, I felt it should’ve just set up somewhere and easily been spotted. However two hours grid searching and I could not find his pendant.

I packed it up reached out to Marshall and asked if we can meet the next day, he arranged to meet me after his work this way I was able to see exactly what he could remember and where he may have been off the course. That being said I was very curious to search the area with my Metal Detector where he found the gold cross, as it made sense to me if one fell the other one should be close bye. After a few minutes at the 15th hole I got a 4-5 in a bit of loose dirt and grass I moved it with my foot inside a beautiful colour of gold and his name. I was able to surprise marsha and so happy to get back that pendant that was a gift from his late grandmother. These are such sentimental items that can never be replaced and it was an honour to be able to help continue that story for the showman.

Pet Labradoodle Has Expensive Taste, The Proof was in the X-ray!!! Longs SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

This adventure started Monday evening when I received a text from Suzanne saying, “I was just made aware of ring finders. I have a lost ring in my yard. It’s a big yard as we have a farm. My dog actually ate the ring then pooped it out, but we somehow missed finding it. We have grid searched as best we could with a borrowed metal detector but admit we didn’t know what we were doing. Interested? Suzanne.” I was intrigued so I called her to get more details. She informed me that their “big yard” was about 3 acres, and the incident took place about a year ago. I was a little perplexed and asked if the poop had been thrown out with the trash. She said they throw the waste in and around the bushes. I’m thinking, OK, the ring’s out there someplace and I love a good challenge, so I agreed to help. I told her I could be there at 10 am this morning, Sept 27th, and she agreed.

I think I was awake most of the night thinking of all the various scenarios I might run into. So, this morning, I packed up a small ladder and my Endoscope in case I had to check the tops and insides of bushes, and 3 metal detectors (Gold Bug II, Deus II, and my Equinox 800). Overkill I know, but I was prepared. When I got there and drove down the long driveway to the beautiful house with a manicured lawn, detached 2 car garage, a big barn with fenced in pastures, I was definitely intimidated! I met Suzanne in the driveway, and she showed me all the areas encompassed by an electric fence where the ring could be. She described the ring and said it was yellow gold with rubies and diamonds. She also explained the details of that faithful day. She said she was going out of town and was getting ready. She set her cell phone and beautiful Ruby and Diamond Ring, which her husband Terry had given her on their 16th Wedding Anniversary, on the Kitchen counter. When she came back to the kitchen the ring was gone and the cell phone had the unmistakable mark of a big wet tongue lick across the face of the phone. They took their loving pet to the vet for X-rays and guess what showed up just as clear as day. There was Suzanne’s beautiful ring nestled in the dog’s stomach. So, Terry was now assigned poop patrol while Suzanne was away. When she got back, Terry assured her that he checked every pile but there was still no sign of the ring.

Ok, I knew I was looking for a very sentimental ring that should alert in the low teen target numbers on the Equinox 800. I grabbed the 800 and started gridding the more likely areas first. I was almost 2 hours into the search, finding numerous targets in the 9-16 range but no ring. I took a quick break and Suzanne came out to see how things were going. She remembered that after she got home from her trip that she had picked up a few of the dog piles and had scattered it around 4 trees, which was not in the search area. I finished up my break and hit the newest area. After 10-15 minutes I got a booming 13 on the 800’s VDI (visual display indicator) about 2 inches deep. I carefully dug around the target and saw the bottom portion of a gold ring. I removed it from the hole, and I had Suzanne’s ring in my hand, I remember saying out loud, “Holy Sh__!” (No pun intended). I devised a plan on how I’d surprise Suzanne. I went around to the front of the house and knocked on the door. Evidently, she had been sitting on the back porch and came around the house. I told her, “I’m going to go grab some lunch, but I wanted to give you this before I go” as I held her ring up for her to see. She was overwhelmed to the point where she was shaking. She couldn’t believe she was seeing her ring again after 9 months and a wild end to end ride through her dog. Suzanne texted me, after I had left, that all this happened in the beginning of December 2021. She was so excited and said that she never thought she’d see her ring again. A very happy ending to a very wild story, which proves everything, always comes out good in the end!!

Suzanne – Thank you so much for trusting me to help find your very special treasure.

Jim

Found My Mother’s Ring…Doylestown, Pa

  • from Ambler (Pennsylvania, United States)

I received a call from Rose to say that she lost her mother’s wedding ring that she wore while gardening over the weekend.  My sidekick John and I were able to meet up with her to see where she may have lost the ring.  Rose told us that she had taken off her gloves to blow her nose and thought that was when she may have lost it.  After walking the nature trails with her for about 20 minutes I got the signal that I was looking for and low and behold it was right at my feet under some wood chips.   When I picked it up to show her, she was so ecstatic, tears of joy.  Finding the ring and seeing her face is what makes being a member of Ringfinders a very rewarding endeavor.

Lost Rings Found at Pensacola Beach

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Loran and Rika are the nicest folks your ever want to meet. Loran called me on a Monday evening asking if I would find his two lost rings on Pensacola Beach. He lost them Sunday evening and was afraid he would never see them again. Both rings were sentimentality very important to both him and Rika. I was afraid than someone may have found them Sunday evening or Monday but I would give it a try. I ended up getting to the beach about two hours before sunrise so I’ld have time to search before umbrellas were set up and towels laid out. After about an hour and a half, while still dark, I got an unmistakable signal from my detector and recovered his rings, both were within a foot of each other. I texted the pictures to Lorna then settled back to enjoy the sun rise. Later that day I returned his rings. Both He and Rika were super happy and all smiles and that made my day!
