Wedding Band recovered in Brick NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call last night from Helen asking if I could help in locating her husband’s Larry’s wedding band. Told her I’d be happy to and made arrangements to meet them the next day. Turns out that Helen and Larry were having an argument in during that Larry gave his ring back to Helen and in the heat of the moment she threw it off the back deck. Regretting it they tried to find it but had no luck. In doing so they threw things off the deck to get an idea where it might be. Helen said to me it was further back in the yard and I started there but no results. The second area was closer to the deck and within about 15 feet of it I found his ring. She must of thrown it more down then out. They were so glad to get his ring back and promised no more arrangements. A great happy ending.

Happy Wife, Happy Life

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

It’s not often you get a lost ring call close to home (literally). Unknowingly to me, my wife lost her anniversary ring over 3 months ago. She said it fell between the cushion in our love seat sofa with recliners and a console in between the two seats. If you knew my wife, she doesn’t ask for help for anything and was bound and determined to find it herself. Funny, she told our kids, a friend of hers, but not me (the ring finder guy).  She finally mentioned it to me last night and my first question was why you didn’t tell me. Her response was that she knew where it was and that it would eventually turn up.

Well, today while she was shopping, I got out my endoscope and went to work. I searched all through the sofa on both sides and couldn’t see the ring. Finally, seeing if I might be able to come through the back of the sofa, I lifted one side and moved it. After I got the sofa far enough away from the wall, I looked down on the carpet and saw her ring. Evidently, the ring fell all the way through the cushions. Being a wise guy, I took a picture of the ring and sent her a text saying “Look familiar? I am, The Ring Finder!” I can’t repeat her response, but my reward was a cooked frozen pizza for dinner.

Thanks  Babe!

Lost – Vehicle Key FOB, Kill Devil Hills, OBX, NC – FOUND!!!

  • from New Smyrna Beach (Florida, United States)

Angela was taking her first trip to OBX.  What a beautiful day; the sun was out, and the temperature was in the high sixties.

As she went up the very sandy beach access with her with her two dogs on leash, seeing the beach in the distance she was thrilled.  Suddenly an off-leash dog approached her dogs, in the scuffle to keep her dogs safe, she lost her balance and ended up in the sand.

Regaining her bearings, she walked down to the beach to enjoy the waves and sand.  As she left, she realized she no longer had her car’s key FOB.  She looked and looked…no luck.  She met a person who lives at a nearby condo who said, “Call OBX-Ed,” and gave her my number.

I received the call around 5pm.  Angela described her situation and I told her that I could be there in a few minutes.

When I arrived, Angela showed me the vehicle access she had walked up.  It had very deep, soft sand, with deep ruts.  I began the search.  Finding only a bottle cap on the vehicle approach we continued out to the area on the beach where the dogs had their kerfuffle.

Shortly after, the XP Deus 2 let out a scream.  I saw a plastic edge of what I suspected was the FOB!  I bent over and retrieved the valuable item and held it up saying, “Is this the lost FOB?”  Angela was thrilled!!!

It was a Black Monday for the company and I was engulfed in an imaginative build-out of Duplo Legos with my boys.  The weather was worsening and it was only a matter of time before rain returned the the Bay Area.  I received a message from Leanne in Danville.  Her husbands wedding band had flown off of his hand in the side yard while preparing for the next round of storms to hit.  Help would be requested!

I enthusiastically called Leanne back and within 30 minutes, I was headed down the 680 towards the days search.  It was my hope to quickly get in and get out before the deluge began and I knew that with the information provided from the couple, this could be the case…they knew it was there and we just had to locate it.

Upon arrival, I met Michael in the drive.  He quickly filled me in of the events that had occurred the evening before and the search that ensued. After a lack of success, but not without effort, the couple sought out additional resources.  A family member sent them my information, hence my presence.

I started to grid the hillside where Michael believed the ring had flown off.  He helped by moving debris and pruning back dormant bushes to make way for the coil of my machine.  We found a lot on the surface, first a razor blade, a bottle cap, aluminum cans, a fastener, a AA battery, but not the 14K white gold band that we sought. About 30 minutes or so into the hunt, success!!!  We had made the recovery!!!

The couple was surprised and excited to have this sentimental ring back and there were smiles all around. The clouds opened up and the rain fell from the sky, I like to think they were tears of joy for my first ring recovery of 2023!  Happy New Years!!!

Contact:

Got a call today in Hillsborough NC for a lost white gold engagement ring.

What a great way to start out the new year helping someone recover a lost ring.

  1. I received the call today and spoke with the gentleman about his wife’s ring she had lost at a local park today. He explained that she had taken the rings off and put them on a carabiner which she then attached to the strap on her back pack. When they were done they picked up their stuff and back pack and went to the car. When she got home she noticed the wedding band was still there but not her engagement ring. They went back to the park and looked then called me for help. I agreed to meet within the hour and started my search. After about an hour the ring was found and he was very happy to have the ring back. It always great to help people out and was a great way to start out the new year.

SENTIMENTAL HEIRLOOM COIN LOST DURING WEDDING. Recovered and Returned to Owner.
I received a call last night from a woman who just got married on the beach. You know the traditional old saying “Something new, something borrowed, something blue and a Sixpence in your shoe”. Things a bride should have on them during their wedding for good luck. It turns out the the Sixpence has been in her family for decades and several family members have been married with this exact Sixpence. Since the ceremony was on the beach she was wearing sandals so she places the heirloom sixpence in her dress. After the wedding she noticed the sixpence was missing. She did a google search for metal detector specialist and contacted me. I met her early the next morning and searched the wedding location. Heirloom sixpence recovered and returned to owner. Family crises averted. 🙌🏻 #LostRingFlorida #MetalDetecting #LostRingJacksonville #MetalDetectorRental #RingFinderJacksonville #RingfinderFlorida #RingFinderPonteVedraBeach

Grandfathers Sentimental Gold Wedding Band lost and Recovered in Grass- I received a call this morning from a lady who said she was on a walk with her husband in Atlantic Beach when his grandfathers gold wedding band fell flung off his finger into deep grass. She said she searched on her hands and knees for the ring but was unable to find it. I asked her if she could stay in the area where the ring was lost and I would drive right there. The grass area was directly under high power lines so there was a lot of EMI. Gold ring found and returned to happy owners.

Lost – Lady’s Gold Wedding Band, Outer Banks (OBX), NC – FOUND!!

  • from New Smyrna Beach (Florida, United States)

I was working on my truck and my wife was making pumpkin pies from scratch.  The last thing I expected was a lost ring call…but that’s exactly what happened.

I got the call shortly before noon.   A lady on the other end let me know that she had lost her gold wedding ring on a vacant lot about a one-hour drive away.  The lady lives near me in the Outer Banks so we decided to drive down to the site together.

As we drove, the conversation centered around the importance of the ring and how she lost it.  Her husband had passed away only a few days earlier.   They had been married 51 years.  She had been looking at a boat motor that he had owned.

While walking on the lot she got burrs on her sleeves.  She never felt the ring fall off but later that day she found it missing.  A friend offered to help her find it with a metal detector.  They searched for over an hour with no luck.

On the way to the ring site, we stopped  for a quick lunch.  She asked me if I could bless the food.  I asked God to bless our food and help us find the ring.  I had no idea how easy He would make it.

When we arrived, I did not pull in the one space drive but rather parked on the precariously sloped side of the road. I wanted to concentrate where they were parked previously.

As I got my Deus II out, the lady went over to the area she thought she may have lost it.  The sun came out shining brightly on the ring lying at her feet.  She screamed, “I found it!”  She was thrilled.

The ride back was filled with tears of gratitude and memories of her husband.  Mission accomplished!

Wedding Ring Found on Sheep Farm in Roundhill Virginia

  • from Leesburg (Virginia, United States)

Call Ray at MyGoldFinder for lost items 571.258.7217 www.mygoldfinder.com

I received a call from Daniel about his wedding ring he’d lost on his sheep farm in Roundhill, Virginia. Daniel had shot a deer on his property and was processing the deer in the field. It was starting to get a little late and Daniel was trying to get done so he could get back into the house before dark. As he was cleaning out the deer he shook blood from his hands and realized his ring flew off at the same time! He did a little searching but couldn’t locate the ring, thus the call to me the next day.

My recovery quests have taken me from land to water, from cattle farms and to horse ranches… a sheep farm was a first for me. Upon arrival at Daniel’s property I was immediately greeted by his 3 dogs. Daniel gave me the layout of the property and some more details on where he thought the ring may have been lost. As we were heading towards the location he realized one of his dogs was missing, the smallest guy. The dog had decided to jump into my truck and make himself at home on the backseat floor..sorry buddy can’t take you home. You are cute though!

The farm location had a nice scenic view of the mountains going towards the Winchester side of Virginia. He had around 30 Scottish blackface sheep. They seemed harmless enough except for one that kept a keen eye on me the whole time and anytime I got closer to the herd, he came closer to me….I got the message!

The area was about a 1/2 an acre, not too large, but Daniel was worried one of the sheep may have eaten it while grazing…let’s hope not. I started a general search around the blood pile area and then started to widen my search pattern. After a few disappointing pattern sweeps and 45 minutes later I decided to search in the opposite direction… then shortly afterwards was rewarded with a nice big bang on the detector. Ring in hand, I sent Daniel a text with the photo of the ring. His response was priceless…”Ho. Lee. Shit.” Not sure of the context style, maybe because he’s Australian, didn’t know, but he was thrilled the ring was found and back on his finger.

Daniel, thank you for contacting me and having confidence I’d find your ring.

God Bless and Keep on Hunting!
