I was contacted by Kenny who had lost his wedding ring in his back yard. The yard is covered in a thick mulch, and he was shaking his hands to clean them when his ring came off and disappeared. He and his wife had looked for two days before contacting me. We arranged to meet the next day for the search.

I got to Kenny’s house at the appointed time, and he took  me back to show me what had happened. I began my search, and found that not only was there a significant amount of metal in the yard of their 100 year old home, but there was also some sort of extreme interference that was causing the detector to false. I turned the sensitivity down and began a slow search over the yard. I found quite a lot of nails and other pieces of iron, and I guess some of that needed to be cleaned out to expose the ring, which was found about 20 minutes into the search. Kenny was very happy to see his ring again, as he and his wife had just celebrated one year of marriage. A great and happy day!

Steve called, he had lost his wedding ring the previous day at a heavily machine cleaned beach. It had been in the pocket of his pop up tent, and he forgot it when he wrapped everything up to head home. We talked, and it sounded like it may have been lost On the towel line, which reduces the possibility of a recovery. I let him know I would come and do the search for him because in the Winter, the County doesn’t always clean the beaches daily like they do in the Summer.

When I got there, I waited for Steve, and when he arrived, he took me over to where the possible loss occurred. The one thing that was instantly noticeable, was that the machines had not gone through that day which buoyed my hopes of a recovery. I began my grid working the outer edge of the area he showed me, working my way towards the other side, pass by pass. After about 5 passes, and 3 or 4 bottle caps, I got that signal I was waiting for, dug, and was rewarded with a nice chunky ring in the scoop. I held it up for Steve, and he immediately rejoiced. He had been married for 8 years, and this was the ring. What a happy day!

Steve sent the following testimonial:

Steve,

I just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you again for the amazing find this afternoon.

I was fairly certain that all hope was lost and I was preparing for the worst, yet within minutes of meeting you, you had found my wedding ring! Simply amazing! Your willingness to take the time out of your day to drive down to the beach to help a total stranger is a true act of kindness. I am truly grateful.

I appreciate your time and efforts and hope to see you again sometime down on the water.

Best,
Steve

I was traveling on the freeway when I received a call from Dave, he had just lost his wedding ring in the beach sand, and was unable to find it. He was asking for help, and I was ready to offer my services. I had my equipment with me, and was traveling in the direction of his loss. I asked him to wait so he could show me where the ring was lost, but he had to leave to get his child, so I asked him to text me pictures to show me where to look, and I would do the search, even though he wasn’t there, so I headed to the beach.

When I got there, I pulled out my phone and studied the pictures. I also looked around, and saw a couple of areas that looked right, so I studied the pictures again. He also sent a video which proved to be the most helpful. I was able to line up from the video, and began my search. I found his ring within minutes, and sent him a text with a picture of it, to which he replied with excitement and joy. We arranged to meet the next day, and it was a pleasure to give Dave back something he thought was gone for good.

I received a call from Adam who had lost his ring in the sand at the beach. This ring was custom made for him to receive when he got married. The jade was a special stone picked out by his future mother in law for that occasion, so the ring had a very special significance for him. I let him know that I could be there soon so as to get to the area before anyone else could, and to insure a thorough search of the area.

When I arrived Adam met me , and showed me the area. One of his friends was busy with a kitchen colander sifting through the sand when we got there. Adam said he wore himself out doing the same. The area wasn’t large that they had been searching, but that doesn’t always mean much. The ring could have been flipped into another area altogether. I began my search over where Adam and his friend had been looking, beginning from the edge working my way in. I found a few pieces of trash metal, and then right in the middle of their search area I got that good gold signal, dug, and had this cool looking ring in my scoop. Adam had not described the ring before I began, so I saw a ring I wasn’t expecting, and before he knew I found it, I said it must be a real cool looking ring. He replied it was with a questioning look, and then I held it up for him, which totally surprised him when he realized I found it right in the middle of where they had previously searched. He was very happy, and I was pleased to be able to return such a special ring for him.

Bella had been at Santa Monica Beach with her friends. She went into the water not realizing that she was still wearing her Cartier watch. It was actually an hierloom that her mother had passed down to Bella.

She was out about waist deep water with small waves when she felt the watch slip off her wrist. The tide was beginning to come up. On the Southern California beaches we get high tides that range between 4.5ft to 6.5ft. high. The tides raise approximately one foot an hour.

When I received the call I knew the water level could be too high to do a proper search. My priority was to get to the location before Bella left the beach. This may take two trips to do a proper search. I only discuss the general idea if the loss occurred in the dry sand or water and if they can stay at the location till I arrive. For beach losses it’s more important to get on the road and meet the people before they have to leave.

I was at the Santa Monica beach location within an hour of Bella’s call for help. The tide was rising and I was hoping that she had been wrong about how deep she was when the watch slipped off her wrist. It’s really hard to judge how deep you are in the surf with 3 or 4ft. waves.

I went directly into the surf with my waterproof metal detector. It wasn’t necessary to go into the crashing waves as I was pretty sure I would have a better chance to find the watch the next day at a lower tide.

Within fifteen minutes I got my first good signal and BOOM!! One very sentimental gold Cartier watch was in my scoop.

Bella, her friends and all the people on the beach were excited, amazed and joyful that the watch was saved and not lost forever.

San Diego Metal Detectorists finds lost gold wedding band ring in Oceanside Ca. Call 760 889 2751

11-30-2020.  Today I received a voicemail from John asking if I’m available to help find a wedding ring that was lost in the dry sand at Oceanside harbor. John mentioned seeing it fly off his finger and disappear into the sand. Though He and his wife Paula searched with their fingers for some time to no avail,, She was able to find my contact info on Theringfinders website.

Fortunately for them and others I’ve helped…I live nearby Oceanside harbor and promptly arrived in nearly 20 min of receiving this call.

Upon meeting the nice couple at the beach with my metal detector equipment, I was shocked the sun was setting so quickly due to daylight savings, Time was of the essence now so I turned on the old trusty P.I detector before it got dark then began scanning,,Beep,,Beeep,,,Shortly after I heard a familiar gold ring beep and there was Johns wedding band back on his hand again!

This lost ring call is definition of a sentimental  Gold ring like almost all my calls have been since 2014 after joining TheRingfinders.  Onwards I asked them how long they’ve been married and John said 25yrs.. Then his wife Paula mentioned she was going to sleep on the beach area right there all nightlong if they couldn’t of found it!   This here, Them thar,,, Is what I call…. “Real treasure.” That has been Returned!

Lost Platinum Diamond/Tanzanite Ring, Found in Crozet (Charlottesville), Virginia

  • from Leesburg (Virginia, United States)

Call Ray for rapid and professional detecting services – 571.258.7217 MyGoldFinder

I received a call early this morning from Georgia in southern Virginia and she asked if I could help her. I asked her the typical few questions to get an idea of location and scope of work and found that she was approx. 2.5 hours from my location being located in Charlottesville VA. Georgia was worried that the drive was too long for me, but I put her mind at ease stating “this is what we do”, we’ll travel as far as we need to in order to recover a lost item.

Georgia had lost her ring the day before while outside on her property planting flowers, pulling weeds and doing a general clean-up of the yard. I told her I would be there in several hours and hopped into the truck. Upon arriving at her location I was so immersed in the scenic view from her propriety I almost would have forgotten why I was there, simply a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from her back deck. I was greeted by Georgia upon my arrival and we immediately went to the areas where she thought she may have lost the ring; in the grassy area leading towards the woods where she had been tossing yard waste and then back along the same path towards the back of the house and into a raised garden bed.

I started working in the brush pile first to see if she had maybe lost it while tossing the yard waste into the woods. After a brief search at the surface level I decided I would come back to this area and do a more in depth and expanded search…so we headed towards the back of the house and Georgia explained what she had been doing with planting the flowers and that she had even taken them back out to try to find her ring. I started by search with my Minelab Equinox 800 and immediately started to receive a pulsating rhythm in the tone (found out later there was an electric dog fence in the back-yard which what probably caused the pulsating). I determined I would still be able to hit the desired targets and started the search. I conducted a brief scan in the grass before stepping up into the raised garden bed. A few scans around the flowers and the immediate vicinity I did not locate the ring….then only several feet away and on the surface in the mulch there was Georgia’s beautiful Snowflake Platinum ring shining in the sunlight like a beacon.

Georgia was so excited that I had found her ring so quickly and couldn’t wait to put it back on her finger. I asked if possibly the ring was too large and if that’s why it fell off, but actually she stated for the yard work she had placed it on the opposite hand which her finger on that hand may be a little smaller and made it easier to come off. A lesson not soon lost 🙂

Georgia was simply charming and wonderful to talk to, I was so pleased to be able to return her ring to her today.

Another happy recovery, another happy customer and another Holiday memory saved. God Bless!

Ring lost in Mission BC… Found!

This search came from the Jon Cryer story about a month ago, the first time I went to look for the ring I spent close to six hours unsuccessfully. It was a difficult area to search due to all the blackberry bushes but Patti was not going to stop searching until she found the ring. This is how the ring got lost. Patti’s husband gave the ring to her to hold onto while he was helping their son-in-law build a barn. Patti took the ring and put it on her finger knowing it was very loose but keeping her hand clenched shut so as not to lose the ring. She walked over to a little shed where she grabbed a couple of apples to take to the horse but they were rotten so she decided to throw them into the bushes forgetting that she had her husband’s ring on her finger, at that particular time she felt the ring come off her finger and you can only imagine how that must’ve felt.

When she threw the apples she felt the ring come off, this is a horrible feeling! For anyone who has never experienced feeling a ring come off their finger and not being able to find it, it’s horrible. Patti told me she was throwing the apples up over the blackberry bushes which were close to 8 feet high at the time. When I got there to do the search she had cut back quite a bit of the blackberry bushes, giving me a really good chance to find the ring, after talking a bit more I found out that they had borrowed a metal detector from a friend of theirs but couldn’t find it, and that’s when they called me to come out and help.

Close to a 2-hour drive to get to Mission from my house and the first day no ring, six hours searching. Second time out over 4 1/2 hours still no ring. Patti had cleared more blackberry bushes, third time out I didn’t take footage of the search but I’m sure about three hours of search time. I’ve been getting a lot of calls and it’s hard to keep track due to the Jon Cryer story. Hard to imagine why I haven’t been able to find this ring, yes the area is very difficult to search and there are possibilities it could’ve got caught between roots and stems where I can’t get a Metal Detector in or pinpointed because of the prickles. I started thinking more out of the box, what if it went behind her to the right to the left, what if it went on the roof of that building so many thoughts crossed my mind but the biggest was why wasn’t I finding the ring?

Today was the fourth time out, it was a nice day and I was very hopeful, when I got there Patti was cutting back more blackberry bushes, I couldn’t believe how much she had already cut back and it made me believe there’s just no way the ring could’ve gone that far especially after hearing she is not right-handed and she threw it with her right hand. Even doing a test throw with a rock Patti couldn’t throw the rock that far.

For the what if factor I started checking the gravel driveway back to where the ring was handed off to her then I went back up to the hot zone and started grid searching while Patti was cutting back more blackberry bushes. As I was detecting near a smaller boulder I got a very faint signal beside the rock, I noticed a small crevice under the rock so I put my Garrett carrot in the crevice and  I got a signal. I found so much garbage here it didn’t mean much to me at the time, I just started trying to dig it out with the pinpointer and to my surprise, I pulled out the ring from under the boulder!!!!!

I was so excited but of course, I couldn’t show it right away because I needed to surprise Patti, she was still cutting back the bushes when I walked up to her and asked her a couple of questions and then put the ring in front of her to see her surprised look. I sure have fun surprising people and I got to tell you I felt so good to see that ring! Now to figure out how it made it so far back and so far under the boulder? After I got home that evening my thought was maybe a pack rat had taken it and put it there, any ideas please let me know.

Lost Set of Keys…FOUND in Time for Thanksgiving Day Family Gathering Starkville, Mississippi!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Lost Item Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?…Call ASAP Anytime 24/7  610-504-6135

I received a call from a distraught Kayleigh on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, November 25, 2020) for a lost set of keys.  Kayleigh explained that she was in the stressful process of moving and lost her only set of car and house keys on Tuesday afternoon.  Kayleigh was supposed to leave on Wednesday morning to travel to Tennessee for a Thanksgiving Day family gathering.  Instead, she spent all day Wednesday searching for her keys.  She wasn’t sure if she put the keys somewhere in the house or dropped them in the leaves outside, but she was unable to find them.

Running out of options, Kayleigh went online to rent a metal detector and discovered The Ring Finders Metal Detecting Service.  She decided to try a Ring Finder from the directory first.  Starkville, Mississippi is almost a 3.5-hour drive (7-hour round trip) from where I’m located at in Huntsville, Alabama, but there were no other Ring Finders in her area.  Hearing her voice on the phone, I could tell I was her only hope in order for her to see her family on Thanksgiving.  I graciously agreed to drive out early on Thanksgiving morning for a search.

I left my house at 4am and arrived at Kayleigh’s house around 7:30.  She had a pot of coffee waiting on me and we enjoyed a quick cup before I got to work.  Kayleigh said she could’ve lost the keys in either the front of the house or in the backyard while cleaning up around the firepit.  She wasn’t sure which path she took to walk out there, but she felt the backyard was the most likely spot she would’ve dropped the keys.  The backyard also had a large amount of leaves that could easily hide a set of keys.  I thought this was the best place to start searching.  Due to the rebar in the concrete, I used my handheld Garrett pinpointer to clear around the leaves on the patio.  I then started scanning my Minelab Equinox 800 along the most direct path to the firepit.  The first signal I checked, I brushed a few leaves aside with my pinpointer and boom, there were Kayleigh’s keys!!!  5 minutes after starting the search and the first signal I checked, I had Kayleigh’s keys in hand!  I went back in the house to tell her the good news!

Kayleigh was so thankful and relived that she had her keys back!  She also couldn’t believe at how quickly I found them, because she spent a whole day searching!  Nonetheless, she had her keys back!  I had been praying the night before and during the drive to Mississippi for God to put me in the right spot.  I asked Him for a quick search in order for us both to be able to spend the rest of Thanksgiving with our families.  God surely delivered!  All glory to Him!

Kayleigh thanked me a few more times.  We said Happy Thanksgiving and I was back on the road home.  Kayleigh was leaving shortly after to see her family in Tennessee for the Holiday.  This was truly a Thanksgiving miracle!
