Lost Hyundai Key Fob! Jamieson Place Neighbourhood Edmonton Alberta.

Yesterday afternoon, I received a call from Lynn inquiring about my assistance in locating her vehicle key fob, which her son misplaced while shoveling snow on the driveway.

After inquiring with Lynn, I agreed to visit her and search for the key fob in the snowbank. Upon arrival, I observed that the snowbank was approximately four feet high, and the driveway was not its usual size. Within five minutes, I discovered the key fob atop the snowbank. Lynn informed me that she believed the keys had fallen to the bottom of the snowbank, making it impossible for her son to retrieve them. I clarified that this was not the case, as the recent snowfall and her son’s shoveling activity had caused the keys to be within a few inches of the top of the bank.

Lynn expressed immense gratitude for my assistance in retrieving her key fob. She informed me that the dealership had requested over $800.00 for its replacement.

LOST 18K GOLD ENGAGEMENT RING IN SALISBURY, NC…..FOUND!!!!

This young man called me up saying he lost his wife’s 18k gold engagement ring! I’m thinking to myself, “HOW DID YOU LOSE IT?!?” I said ok tell me what happend..

Story goes, It was getting dark, they were on a walk enjoying spending time together. It was cold, they were horsing around and she was afraid of losing her ring so she takes it off and puts it on her thumb to slid it into her husband’s shirt pocket for “SAFE KEEPING”!! A few mins later he did something to cause her to chase him and he stumbles and falls down a slope. He didn’t think anything about it until he realized he lost his watch. Then he checked his shirt pocket, and his heart sank, the ring wasn’t there!!!!

He called me up and I shot over in the dark. He wasn’t 100% sure where he fell so I was scanning about 50 yards of possibilities. Lots if signales and sadly I didn’t find it that night. I advised him to try and find his watch during the day and to try and narrow the search area a little.

The next day he goes back to site and finds his watch. It was just about dark again and rain was coming in on Saturday. So I told him I’ll be there first thing Sunday morning!

I arrive, get my gear and we walk over to where he found his watch. I set my machine to 40-61 range, because the ring looked very thin. I didn’t find it, so I changed my range to VDI 40-72. BOOM! Got a 62 and there it was just under some dirt!!!

I love helping people find lost items! It makes my heart happy and to see the joy, happiness and relief on their face!

Clemson Class Ring Lost in the Soft Sand, Found and Returned Litchfield, SC

This search started just before 6 pm on Jan. 2nd, 2026, when I received a phone call from Jack saying his friend Kai had lost his Clemson class ring. Jack confirmed they were in the dry sand and that they would meet me there. I told him I’d be there in 30-45 minutes, grabbed my Equinox 800 and was on my way.

When I got there, I followed Jack into the resort and back to where they were on the beach. I got to meet Kai, and he explained that he had been throwing a Frisbee when he felt the ring come off. A huge help was the fact that Kai and Jack had set two beer cans in the sand where Kai had been standing. They also left the Frisbee where it landed with another beer can in the sand. They were just above the high tide line when this happened. So, I started a north/south grid search between the two areas stretching the search out in both directions with no luck. I finally asked Kai to demonstrate his throw and when he did, I knew I wasn’t in the right area. In his demonstration, he showed that he heaved the Frisbee with his hand ending up high and to the far right. It was pitch black and getting cold, so I talked with Kai and Jack and told them I was there until I found it or exhausted searching the entire area. I also told them if they wanted to leave that I would definitely call them and keep them updated. I think both Jack and Kai’s girlfriends were with them plus a couple of others and they were getting hungry. Again, I assured them I’d stay connected and they left. I redirected my search to past the landing point of the Frisbee and higher up on the beach, just off the dunes. On my first line and just about even with where Kai had been standing, I got a solid hit. Knowing the ring was a heavy yellow gold ring, the VDI (visual display indicator) would show up in the mid to high teens. This signal was coming up in the 17-18 range. It took 3 scoops to get the target out, which surprised me that it was so deep. Got the target out of the hole, turned on my head lamp and saw the target in the pile of sand. It wasn’t until I picked up the target, cleaned the sand off it that I realized I had Kai Clemson ring. I took a quick picture and sent it to Jack and immediately got a call back. Jack said they’re turning around and would be there in 5 minutes. Kai came running out on the beach to where I was and I showed him the hole and where it was in conjunction to where he was standing when he threw the Frisbee. We walked back to the cars, he thanked me again and we said our goodbyes. He left a very happy young man!

Well 2026 is off to a GOLDEN start!!!

Got a call from this guys sister-in-law saying her brother-in-law had lost his wedding ring at a volleyball pit while they were playing.

Story goes his back was to the net, hit the ball up and the ring flew off. They searched as best as they could but couldn’t find it. After about an hour i found it!

It had landed in the area of server spot.

Found out after I found it, it was actually a family heirloom!! The ring had belonged to his father. He gave it to him for his wedding.

LOST HEIRLOOM / 14K ENGAGEMENT GOLD RING LOST IN TAYLORSVILLE, NC……FOUND!!!

Received a call today from a young lady who asked about my ring recovery services. After a few mins of going over the details, she agreed she wanted me to come out and try to find her 14k engagement ring.

She lost her ring while doing some yardwork about four months prior to calling me. She provided me her address and said they wouldn’t be home. I advised her I will go and if found, I will put it in a secure location and send her the details.

I drive an hour and forty-five mins to get to her house. Set up my machine to locate the ring in the range it should have been in. VDI 40-65 on the Deus 2. After about an hour I get a VDI 48 and dig down about 2-3 inches and I see the beautiful gold roundness that I had been hoping for!!

After I sent her the pictures to confirm I had found it, she proceeds to tell me that not only had it been lost for 4 months, but it was also her husband’s Great Grandmothers ring!!! 😱😱😱 A priceless family heirloom that means a lot more than just a symbol of their love.

I love what I do, because of happy stories just like this that makes me hate even more the ones I can’t find!

14K Yellow Gold Earring Lost on a Nature Trail, Found and Returned Bird Island NC

On Dec 19th, there was a post on a couple of the Sunset Beach NC Face Book pages from Aileen. The post said in part that her son’s (Sean) Girlfriend (Meg), had lost an earring that her mother had given her. That they had been walking on a Nature trail behind the *Kindred Spirit Mailbox, and she is pretty sure it happened when she took her poncho off. The last thing on the post was to contact Meg, via text, with a number.  Aileen also attached a picture of the yellow gold earring. I checked the responses and saw that 3 or 4 people had already referred her to contact me and listed my contact information. So, I didn’t respond and waited to see if I’d get a call. *Kindred Spirit Mailbox is a famous, secluded mailbox on Bird Island, near Sunset Beach NC filled with journals where visitors write their innermost thoughts, secrets and dreams. The mailbox is listed as 1.5 miles from the last beach access on Sunset Beach. I’ve walked it a few times on searches and I honestly think it’s mismarked because it’s taken me close to an hour to get there.

The next afternoon just before 3, I got a text saying, “Hi! I got your number from my boyfriend’s mother. She posted about possibly helping with lost jewelry on sunset beach/bird island. Would you be interested in helping?” A follow up text said, “My name is Meggie. I lost one of my mother’s earrings on the bird island trail. I have a pretty good idea of where. Would love and eternally appreciate the help of a metal detector.” I immediately called Meg for additional details. One of my concerns was the walk down and back from the area. Meg told me that they had E-bikes that we could use; now this could be fun since I’ve never ridden an E-bike before. She told me she’d text me her address and we agreed to meet today, Sunday at noon. After we hung up, I got to thinking about how I was going to carry my detector and drive the bike, so I text Meg back and didn’t get an answer.

This morning about 11 am, I still hadn’t heard from Meg with her address, so I text her again and didn’t get an answer. A short time later I called her and didn’t get an answer, so I left her a voice mail. I started wondering if she had changed her mind or if something else had come up. About 15 minutes before we were supposed to meet, I got a text saying, “Hey Jim, sorry I’m awful with the phone! She also sent me the address.” I responded, “On my way, be there in about 30 minutes.”

When I got there, I got to meet Sean and he gave me a quick lesson on the E-bike, I was excited!! He helped me strap my detector to the bike and I was ready to go. A short time later Meg came out and she was ready as well. Our trip down the beach to the mailbox was perfect and no walking or wrecks on the bike. We got to the start of the trail at 1:11 pm and I tested Meg’s other earring again to make sure I was getting the best signal I could. I took the equinox 800 through all the modes and found that Park 2 gave me the best signal and showed a 1 on the VDI (visual display indicator). The trail looked like it was a game trail that through time and use turned into a wider path with bushes, weeds, and sticker bushes on both sides. As we’re walking, I’m swinging from far left to far right in case the earring was flung off instead of dropping straight down. I was getting a lot of deep signals that were trash but no earring. We got to the “hot zone” where Meg had removed the poncho with no results and made our turn to go back. We got back in the hot zone and I hit a solid 1 with a great signal. Took my pin pointer out and ran it through the small soft sand area and didn’t hit the target. I took my hands and was scooping up small amounts of sand and out popped the earring, BINGO!! I picked it up and handed it back to Meg. What a very happy young lady.

Lost Gold Signet Ring In The Snow Mill Woods, Edmonton Alberta.

Jessica contacted me yesterday seeking assistance in locating her late father’s in-law gold Signet ring, which was passed down to his son and subsequently to Jessica 5 days ago..

While Jessica was retrieving garbage from the office and transporting it to the back dumpster, she lifted the lid and felt the ring fall off her finger. She believed the ring had fallen into the dumpster. Jessica and a few colleagues emptied and searched the contents of the dumpster without success.

I agreed to conduct a search and met Jessica at her office. She demonstrated how the ring had fallen off her finger, leading her to believe it had entered the dumpster. However, I observed that the ring could not have fallen into the dumpster.

To determine the ring’s potential range, I provided Jessica with a test ring. The ring’s trajectory indicated that I should search the back of the dumpster. I conducted a search in that area, but no results were found. I then searched the front of the dumpster without success.

Next, I initiated a search of the parking lot adjacent to the dumpster, approximately 6 feet away. I detected a Very shallow Signal (VDI) of 70 on my detector and with the only signal in the area, buried in about 2” of packed snow I found her ring.

Jessica was ecstatic that the ring was once again back on her finger.

Received a text from a gentleman saying his wife had lost her white gold class ring after removing snow off her car. She shook her hands and the ring came flying off and lost.

We agree to a date/time. I get up there and begin my search about an hour later I found it. It was about 10-15 feet and opposite side of where they thought it went.

A Smoky Mountain Ring Recovery: Kayleigh’s Story

Kayleigh had traveled to a cozy cabin tucked away in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to celebrate her friend Haley’s birthday. With fresh mountain air, scenic views, and a balcony overlooking the trees below, it was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway.

But during the celebration, the unexpected happened.

While enjoying time on the cabin balcony, Kayleigh’s ring slipped off and disappeared into the unknown below. Anyone who has lost something irreplaceable knows the sinking feeling that follows. The excitement of the trip was quickly replaced with worry and disappointment.

Determined not to give up, the group made a trip to a local sporting goods store and purchased a metal detector, hoping to find the ring themselves. They searched… and searched… but without experience or the right equipment, their efforts came up empty.

That’s when Kayleigh’s mom stepped in.

I couldn’t respond right away due to work but I contacted the VRBO owner and got his permission to come out the very next day.

The next day I packed my gear and made the drive—about 1 hour and 35 minutes—into the Smoky Mountains. Once on site, I used the detailed photos of the area to estimate where the ring was lost, I assessed the terrain below the balcony, and got to work.

About 20 minutes later, my detector gave the signal we were hoping for.

There it was—Kayleigh’s ring, recovered from the ground below the cabin. Another lost ring found and another story with a happy ending.

Now, with the ring safely in hand, I drove nearly two hours to meet Kayleigh’s husband so the ring can be returned where it belongs—back with its owner, along with the memories and meaning it carries.

This is why I do what I do.

Rings aren’t just jewelry. They’re symbols of love, commitment, and life’s most important moments. Being able to reunite someone with something that meaningful never gets old.

Another Ring Found in the Snow… Well, Almost ❄️💍

Last night I received a text from Rav — and you could feel the stress through the phone. He was supposed to be leaving Wednesday on vacation with his new fiancée, but there was a problem: his engagement ring had vanished while shoveling snow in the large front yard of his home in Lawrence, New York.

Snow, cold, metal gloves — never a good combination.

Rav had a few spots where he knew the ring could be. Those were my first targets. I carefully scanned each area… once… twice… three times. Nothing. Not even a hopeful beep. At that point, I’ll admit it — I was starting to think this one might turn into a waiting game until the snow melted.

Just as I was about to regroup, I suddenly heard Rav yell out,

“I FOUND IT!”

I turned around to see him standing in the driveway, holding the ring. It turns out that while using the snowblower, he had taken his gloves off right there — and that’s when the ring slipped off. The snow hid it perfectly until the light hit it just right. He spotted the glimmer and picked it up himself.

The relief on his face said everything.

Even though Rav was technically the one who found the ring, he still insisted on paying my full reward. His reasoning? Process of elimination. Since the ring wasn’t in any of the areas I had searched, it had to be somewhere else — and my being there led him to the answer. I only accepted a partial reward.

The truth is, if he had waited until Friday, when the temperature was supposed to hit 55° and the snow melted, the ring probably would’ve surfaced on its own — but by then it could’ve been crushed, bent, or damaged by cars in the driveway. And most importantly, Rav didn’t want to leave for his trip with that stress hanging over him.

As he kept saying,

“If you weren’t here, I never would’ve found it.”

That’s a win in my book — and another happy ending just in time for a vacation and a fresh start.
