Lost ring in the sand, Point Pleasant Beach NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

Thomas called about locating a ring that was dropped in the sand earlier that day. Sophia had accidently dropped her rings in the sand, and while sifting around for quite some time, was able to locate one, but had no luck finding the other ring. We arranged to meet at the beach entrance because there was no way I would be able to find them on a beach that was that packed. As we walked down to his location he explained the details a little more, and I was able to get right to work. I had them pull the chairs and bags back so my machine wouldn’t get any false signals, from any metallic items they had. Sophia thought they would be just beyond the edge of their towel, and she wasn’t to far off. A few swings out past the edge of the towel I got the signal I was waiting for. Another ring, rescued from the white  sand beaches of New Jersey.

Lisa gave me a call about her husband Kevin’s lost wedding band in Wildwood, NJ. Kevin placed his ring on top of the cooler before putting sunscreen on and forgot it was on there when he brushed sand off the top. I met the couple on the beach and got a better idea of where to start the search. We anticipated a 10-feet radius, but the ring was found slightly farther out than expected.

The Ring Finders metal detector service recovered a lost engagement diamond ring at Cardiff state beach,Ca CALL CURTIS COX 760 889 2751

This recent summer of 2023 I received another call for help regarding a lost engagement ring buried in the beach sand and it abruptly ended as she said her father or in law was already going to get a metal detector nearby. I said if they don’t find it I could still be of help.

After nearly a decade being a member of The Ring Finders website I have yet to hear a successful outcome in this matter. Learning how to use a metal detector takes a lot of time,,There are so many settings/buttons to adjust such as; Sensitivity,Depth,Ground balancing,Noise cancellation,Discrimination,Threshold,,etc.

Later that evening I headed out to clean up some local north county San Diego beaches when I received a text back asking for help as they have not found the ring after nearly 2 hrs searching.

A short 20 min drive and thankfully the Cardiff state beach parking lot was not yet closed, There I met the Father & son holding what I knew to be an infamously cheap Bounty hunter metal detector. Notorious for not finding things!

With the darkness glooming and clock ticking  before the state troopers arrive to close this beach down for the night,,I turned on my Machine and found it in less than a minute. They were so relieved and shocked how quickly I recovered this lost engagement ring as you can see in the photo.

Lost Cell Phone in 40 Feet of Water Above Heber, Utah- Found

I received a call regarding a lost iphone at the bottom of a lake above Heber Utah. While celebrating their wedding anniversary, they decided to take a canoe around the lake. The lake was located in the Uintah mountains which was above 7800 feet elevation. While out on the canoe, a bee flew around her and since she is allergic to bees, she went to swat the bee away and her iphone fell out into the water. Cell phones can be easily replaced but what can’t be is the photos and memories that are on them. She hadn’t backed up her iphone is over a year so with the loss of cell phone, the stress of losing all those fun memories came with it. Also the newer model cell phones seem to be a little more water resistant so I knew if I could get up their quickly, there was a good chance the phone could still work.

I made the 100 mile drive the next day and met Patricia and her family near where the cell phone was lost. We had to hike a fair way to get to the location and carrying all the dive gear and detectors was quiet a journey. The water was also very cold due to the high elevation and recent run off from the winter. They were told it was about 25-30 feet of water so I geared up and used my Air Buddy dive system to get down to the bottom. The bottom was full of dead branches and bushes and probably only had 1-3 feet of visibility on the bottom which is not uncommon for around here. I dove for about 30 minutes and then came up to let the sediment at the bottom of the lake settle down. On my second dive, I went a little further down (35-40 feet) and as I was cruising along the bottom detecting, I could see the edge of what looked like a cell phone sticking out of the sediment. Sure enough it was  the iphone! I quickly returned to the surface and presented the phone back to Patricia who was so happy to see it. 48 hours later, I received an update from her that after sitting in a bag of rice, the phone did manage to charge back up. She was able to get all those great memories back and I couldn’t be happier for her and her family!

Lost Titanium Wedding Ring in St. George, Utah- Found

After a windy weekend in St. George, Utah, I received two calls regarding lost rings. I made plans to make the 300 mile road trip down to St. George, Utah the following weekend to help look for them. While I was getting ready to leave, I saw a post about a 3rd lost ring at a local lake in the area. Since I was already headed down, I figured I would proactively reach out and see if I could help. Sad part about all three missing rings is that the people did things right. Each person had taken their rings off to get into the lake and while in the water, the winds came up and blew either their tent or bag where they had placed their rings. This was the case with this one as he had put his titanium ring in the tent and went to go play with his kid. The wind picked up the tent and in the process the ring fell out into the sand.

After getting permission from the local authorities, I matched up his picture with the landscape and started to grid off the area. I covered the entire area but didn’t find the ring. I started to think that maybe it didn’t fall out with the wind but that it fell out after they were leaving the lake. I started to grid off the beach area from the parking lot to where they had put down the tent. Sure enough, the lost titanium ring was about 50 feet back towards the parking lot in the opposite direction of where the wind blew the tent. Over the years of returning lost items, I have learned to apply alternative scenarios from where people tell me and it’s amazing how often the ring or item is not where they thought they lost it. I could have easily chalked this one up to someone picking the ring up cause it wasn’t in the normal search area described but glad I was able think outside the box and that lead to another great recovery! We met up later that afternoon and he was so happy to see his wedding ring! Check out the video below!

Lost Diamond Gold Ring in South Jordan, Utah- Found

Received a call from a lady regarding a lost diamond gold ring that had been given to her by a late uncle. She received this ring when she lived in Iran and had it on her finger for several years. While playing volleyball in the park with friends and family, she went to hit the ball and the ring popped right off her finger. They spent the next several hours looking for it and even went out and got a metal detector but were unable to locate the ring. That is when she found me online and we made plans that night to go search for it before the park services started to mow the lawn.

With just an hour of light left in the day, I met her at the location and started to grid off the area. Parks are historically very trashy areas so there were a lot of low tone signals. Small gold rings will give off a signal very similar to a pull tab or small piece of aluminum. As the sun was setting, I got a good hit on the detector and sure enough it was the ring! It had flown 20+ feet from the area of where they were playing volleyball. Her reaction when I brought it to her is the whole reason I love doing this! Check out the video below!

Lost Wedding Ring Camp Creek Lake Franklin, Texas recovered by Houston Metal Detecting Services

Believe It or Not! Wedding Ring Set Recovered from Camp Creek Lake in Franklin, Texas by Houston Metal Detecting Services.
I was contacted by Craig Ellison who advised he was looking for some help recovering his wife’s wedding ring set from Camp Creek Lake in Franklin, Texas.
Craig advised his wife had been in the lake with other family members when the unthinkable happened. Craig said his wife was in about 4 1/2 feet of water and tossing a ball when her ring slipped off her finger and dropped to the bottom of the lake.
Craig said a great number of hours were spent looking for the ring in the relatively clean water of the lake. Craig said they exhausted their efforts to find the rings and searched the internet for help. Craig said he came across Houston Metal Detecting Services and placed the call.
Arrangements were made to meet Craig and his family at the lake the following weekend. *** Jessie had been at San Clemente, CA. with his family. They were sending the afternoon on the beach. After returning home he discovered that his work truck keys were no longer in his pocket. Panic set in, this could mean missing the next day at work and a lot of trouble getting replacement keys. 

Jessie contacted me asking for help. He wasn’t sure if the keys had been lost in the sand at the beach. He did remember playing with his daughter on the sloping dry sand. That was enough of a clue to warrant a search with a metal detector. At least I could tell him if the keys were not there, if I scanned the known spot where they had been.

I met Jessie after we set up a time and location. I gave him a short explanation of how the metal detector works assuring him if the keys were there, I should be able to find them. Sometimes the recovery could be quick but this search was getting discouraging as I was running out of space to search. Then. Boom!! a great signal that prove to be the elusive keys. Jessie was so happy and relieved that he didn’t have to lose a days work. Plus going through whatever process it was going to take replacing the keys. It was my pleasure to be available and help him.

Late Sunday afternoon, I got a panicked call from Marlon. While soaking up the sun at Zuma Beach with his family, his gold coin medallion slipped off his necklace and vanished into the sand. Despite battling weekend traffic and parking chaos near Zuma Beach, I arrived to find Marlon distraught. I reassured him—we’d get it back. With my trusty Equinox 900 metal detector in hand, I launched a meticulous grid search across the area he’d pinpointed. Gridding is like mowing a lawn: slow, steady, and thorough, covering every inch of sand from Pt. Dume Beach-style dunes to El Matador Beach-like rocky patches.
The first two sweeps yielded nothing but anticipation. Then, on the third pass, a sharp tone cut through the air—a hit! Sea Isle City NJ Lost Class Ring Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Blake and her friend spent a day at the beach in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. Before applying sunscreen to her nephew, Blake removed her cherished class ring and placed it safely in her bag. Unfortunately, she later discovered that the ring had gone missing. In a panic, Blake’s mother, Alexa, contacted me for assistance in locating the lost gold class ring.

After gathering vital information from Alexa and speaking to Blake over the phone, we were able to pinpoint the areas where they had spent time on the beach – initially near the water and later further back in their chairs. Ready with these essential details, I embarked on my search utilizing my trusty metal detector.

 

As I meticulously followed a grid pattern from the water’s edge towards their second seating area, I took advantage of the low tide, which enabled me to search shallow waters. After approximately 30 minutes of diligent searching, my Excalibur detector emitted the distinctive growl for gold, leading me to finally uncover the lost class ring!

 

Alexa called Blake and delivered the delightful news of their keepsake’s recovery!
