White Gold Band Lost in the dry sand, Found and Returned in North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a somewhat frantic call from Sherri saying that someone had referred me to help find her lost ring. She said that she had taken her ring off and put it in the cup holder of her beach chair to apply sun screen. When she packed up to leave, she forgot about the ring until the chair had been folded. I confirmed she was in the dry sand when it happened and she said she was. I told her I’d be there in 15 minutes, grabbed my Equinox 800 and hit the road.

When I got to the hotel she was staying out, I called her as I was walking across the board walk to the beach. I saw her at the same time I spotted another detectionist searching the area. Not good, but I understand people are more interested in having their lost item found and not who finds it. When I got to the spot, I recognized JR who is a local beach guy that detects a lot. JR said he hadn’t been able to find it and was getting ready to expand the search area. He also said he had gotten an iffy signal in the sand but nothing solid. I saw the area where he had dug with his small shovel. I asked Sherri for the details and she pointed out the small area she thought she lost her white gold ring in. White gold should ring up around 11 VDI (visual display indicator). I turned my machine on and JR asked me to check the area he had the iffy signal. Two steps and I hit a solid, loud 11, just what I expected. Got the target in the scoop and shook out the sand. BAM!! Sherri’s ring was in the scoop.  I held the ring up for Sherri and she was holding back some tears. JR asked if he could run his detector (Equinox 600) over the ring to see what he got as a signal. His machine sounded a very weak signal and he said he had walked away from it thinking it wasn’t the ring.  Nevertheless, Sherri had her very sentimental ring back.

Sherri, Thank you for trusting me in helping you find your lost treasure. My prayers are with you on your journey over the next few months, I wish you only the very best.

Gold earring lost in Sausalito, CA…Found!!!

A very kind Susan contacted me on Memorial Day to assist in searching for her gold clip-on hoop earring lost at the Cavallo Point Lodge in beautiful Sausalito, CA.  She was spending the weekend there with her daughter and while out for a walk she felt her hair tugging at the earring. Just like that, she attempted to clear her hair from the earring and the rest was a blur.  The earring she had owned for 30 plus years and had been present for all the major events of her adult life was missing.  The mother and daughter duo spent hours searching for the lost gold hoop to no avail and a huge cloud loomed over the trip.

Susan had used a metal detectorist to assist locating a missing ring while on vacation at the beaches of the East Coast. She sought out a last ditch effort to recover the earring when she reached out to my friend and fellow TheRingFiners.com  member Jes Muse.  Jes was kind enough to pass along my information to Susan, who text me right away and the next afternoon I’d make the hour and a half drive to Cavallo Point to meet with her and perform the search.  Susan reenacted the events of the night and the path she took.  She also established an appropriate search area, which was fairly small and our probability of the detection was pretty good. I spend 30 minutes or less metal detecting and visually observing the search area.

After searching the area, I could say with full confidence that the earring was not there.  At that point, she thanked me for my efforts and I could tell she was quite disappointed.  After she left, I couldn’t help but wonder that if I walked further along her route, what I could find find.  If there was a possibility that the lost earring event may have taken place further than originally thought and that was why the initial  search turned up nothing, I wanted to know.  As I walked further along the route, there laying in the road was the gold clip-on earring we had both sought out.  We had made the recovery!!!

Early in the search, Susan had stated that she had a dream that we located the missing item.  I remembered that statement when I called her to return to the Cavallo Point Lodge to collect her belongings.  She was ecstatic when I turned over the once lost item and I hope in some way it made the grey cloud over the Mother and Daughter trip depart.  Best of wishes Susan!

Susan preferred not to have her photo taken, so here I am!

Lost and Found Ring in dry sand in Miami Beach

Metal Detecting Service – Louis – 305-608-1870

Josu and his wife were on Vacation this Memorial Day Weekend when she decided to take off her rings to change their baby’s diaper.  Forgetting that she placed them on the changing pad, she packed up her stuff and left.  Once they were back at their hotel they realized they lost their rings back at the beach.  By that time it was night time and would be impossible to find them.  Luckily he found me on TheRingFinders and I was able to meet him there and find both of them within a few minutes.  If you have lost some jewelry and need me to come out and find them, at the beach, in the water, or backyard, give me a call, Louis, 305-608-1870.

Heartbroken Girl’s Fear Is Replaced With Tears Of Joy After Lost Ring Is Found

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

EMERALD ISLE, NC

Katelyn was relaxing, just before sunset, on the beach with her fiancée, Brianna.  Katelyn has placed the first ring anyone has ever gave her on a bag they brought along.  She thought it was put in the bag.  After they left, they realized the ring was missing.  Katelyn sent a plea for help and discovered, through social media, Crystal Coast Ring Finder (The Ring Finders member).

I had a very good understanding of the area and knew exactly where to begin my search.  Katelyn’s very sentimental ring was the first target that sent an alert to my Minelab CTX-3030.  I made arrangements to meet Katelyn after she got off work.

Katelyn has had a rough run of luck lately with numerous hardships and relocating to North Carolina from Pennsylvania.  This ring was part of her strength.  She mentioned online “So when I lost it at the beach I lost a part of myself too.”  I was very happy to bring the ring back to her so the ring can still be part of future stories and hopefully a very happy future!

Congratulations Katelyn & Brianna!   They are considering an Autumn wedding

Lost Gold Ring w/Gemstone Found in Farmington Hills Michigan

Been There…..Dug That…..

….Of all the volleyball court finds I have made, this one was the same, I grid searched the area with my MXT metal detector, got a good signal and there the ring was just a couple inches beneath the sand. What made it interesting was that Praveen’s wife took the children to the court just to sit and play in the sand…no volleyball, and as she got up to brush off the sand, her beautiful wedding ring flew off. Naturally worried as to where it went, he was thrilled, and relief came over his face knowing that the ring had just temporarily been hiding….Yep, and I really dug that!

Lost Engagement Ring FOUND in Essex, Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I received a call from Teresa early this morning (5/30/2023) stating she lost her engagement ring close to her house. I offered to come out later in the week as I did not have my equipment with me nor was I home. She asked if there was any way possible that I could come out today. I could hear it in her voice she was frantic as she was concerned that where she lost it was a heavy foot traffic area and that someone else may find it. I was able to change up my schedule for the day and we met midafternoon. Teresa was very confident in the area that she lost it, so I immediately got to work. Due to the high amount of interference in the area, I needed to fine tune my equipment to eliminate false signals. Shortly thereafter, I was able to call Teresa over to show her what I found. She immediately started crying tears of joy! I’m glad I was able to return this ring to its thankful owner. If you find yourself in a situation like or similar to Teresa, please don’t hesitate to contact me! The quicker I get involved, the greater are the chances of a successful recovery!

*** Steven called from West Covina, CA. asking for help to find a gold bracelet with diamonds. His lady friend had been trimming ivy vines that had grown up a metal cyclone fence. Later that day she realized her gold bracelet was missing from her wrist. Had searched through all the trimmings but saved them in a trash container. He also spent a lot of time looking into the existing ivy on the metal fence.

We both were aware that it might be difficult to use a metal detector so close to the metal fence. After discussing the possibilities of conducting a search, we agreed that I could give it try. I drove to the location thinking the trimmings in the trash would be the best chance to find the lost bracelet. Once I get to the location we can discuss other possibilities as she had not discovered the bracelet missing till later that evening after going the yard work.

I was able to meet Steve a few hours after his call. Grabbing my equipment, we walked to the backyard. My plan was to start by spreading the ivy trimmings onto a cement patio deck that didn’t have metal re-bar or mesh. Then I had a second thought, I grabbed a high powered flashlight to begin a visual look into the ivy on the fence. There were several pockets of dead leaves that could hold a piece of jewelry.

Steve told me he had spent time searching that area, but allowed me to give it a try. After about 20 minutes I looked down, spotting the gold bracelet on the cement deck. It had been in the ivy and I dislodged it from the foliage.  We were lucky to start in the right location which did help to make it a quick recovery. Steve told me, he had already felt he had eliminated that area and would have never found the bracelet. Happy day for Steve, his friend and me..

I’m available now call me if you have any questions. I have experience with all types of searches.  I WILL TRY ANYWHERE..  949-500-2136

Lost and found gold wedding band in Brighton Ontario

Received a text from Richard today about him having lost his gold wedding band in their backyard while doing some spring cleaning. The good news is that he saw the ring flying off his finger as he was moving a log. The bad news was that he mowed the tall grass in hope of better seeing the ring. Everything turn out fine as the ring was found in less than a minute. Another happy camper. Life is good.

Lost Stud Earring Lost In Cherry Hill NJ Found By Dave Milsted, The Metal Detecting Man!

Chase and his friend Kevin were a couple of my first Ring Finder customers back in 2015 when they both lost their wedding rings on the same day, in the same location!   Sunday morning, Chase texts me saying, “I did it again.”  This time on a private beach on Lake Michigan near South Haven.  Searching The Ring Finders site, he saw I was still listed.  Instead of contacting the Ring Finder for the South Haven area (sorry Dave 😊) Chase contacted me again.  He had put sunscreen on and stepped into the ice cold water to rinse off his hands and thought that was probably when he’d lost it but didn’t actually feel it come off so it could also be on the beach somewhere.  Hoping I didn’t have to step into the ice cold Lake MI water, I did a quick search on shore where he thought he and the family were the day before.  No such luck.  I scanned the shoreline 5’ or so into the water for about 5 minutes; that was about all I could handle, the water was PAINFULLY cold.  No ring.  I searched the beach some more while my feet thawed in the warm sand and tried again a few feet further out in the water.  Still no ring.  I was pretty sure at that point it wasn’t in the water so I searched at little further north of where I’d started, hoping I didn’t have to step back into the ice cold Lake MI water.  Bingo!  Another happy face for my Book of Smiles 😃
