LOST GOLD HEIRLOOM IN GREENSBORO, NC…….FOUND!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Back on November 12th 2023 a lady called me and said her niece had lost a very sentimental family heirloom gold ring in a patch of ivy while visiting from California for a wedding.

The niece had already left to go back to California. She was so heartbroken she had lost the ring. It was about a two hour drive, but I jumped in the truck and made my way out to try and find it. By the time I got there it was going to be dark in about an hour.

In just a few mins I had found the ring in the ivy and was able to return it to the aunt.

Fast forward three months later and I finally get a picture of the niece with her lost ring back on her finger again!

This gold ring was 1 of my 360 total rings I found in 2023!

I received a text from Marcia wanting to know if I could possibly help her find her lost wedding ring in the grass in front of her business. I answered immediately with a few questions of my own…like what were you doing when you lost your ring? And when did this happen and did you actually feel it come off? Marcia responded saying she felt it come off and knows the exact area where she was standing when that happened and I assured her that it should be easy enough to find her lost ring? There are times when trying to locate a lost ring that it can be very difficult and the answers to all my questions help me determine the likely hood and possibilities of actually finding it. Marcia was thrilled to hear that I could come out the following day and conduct a thorough search.

After meeting Marcia and hearing the details of how she lost her ring I began my search. She said her ring was loose and on the small side…a size 5 to be exact and made of white gold. It took about 10 minutes to cover the small target area and I thought I had checked thoroughly every target that rang up in the small gold range but I was not able to find her lost ring. So I expanded the search area thinking that maybe it flew further than what we first calculated…and still I came up with no ring. This prompted me to grid search the same target area again only this time going perpendicular to my original search. I again checked every obvious and some “not so obvious” targets and then..BEEP, BEEP! A reading of “44” on my ATMax, Garrett metal detector in ZERO Mode indicated a good, shallow signal and there was Marcia’s lost wedding ring just hiding down in the grass. I wondered how I actually missed it the first time but the most important thing was…that we found it! I left it right there in the grass and had Marcia come and look where it had landed and we marveled at how easily it had vanished in the grass! After 27 years of married life she was able to wear her ring without that sinking feeling of having lost it. It truly is an honor to help those in need of theringfinders unique services and I thank God for leading me to Marcia’s lost ring and for the opportunity to be a blessing in her life.

Lost Mens Wedding Band Found Eagle Mountain Lake Fort Worth, TX

  • from Fort Worth (Texas, United States)

Dennis reunited with his wedding band

I received a call from Dennis on Thursday February 1, 2024. He was working in his garden and lost his wedding band. I scheduled with him to come out on Monday to do a search of his two garden areas where he was working. I came out on Monday and started my search of the first area. I had no luck in the first search area. I moved to the second area and began my search, I had pretty much covered the area that he was sure he was working at, and it was looking like it wasn’t in that area when I got a really good signal. Looked down and there it was. He couldn’t believe it, the look in his face was priceless. I glad I made your day Dennis!!! Thank you for the reward!!!

Ring lost in Surf at Woolleys Bay, Recovered at 4am

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

Joanne posted on Facebook that she had lost her special silver ring in the surf at Woolleys bay, and asked if anyone had found it.

Knowing the beach well, I knew the ring would already be well under the surface, and likely quite deep with a few tides having passed since.
I very rarely solicit recoveries, however there was a very small window to be able to have any chance of recovering this ring, so I made contact.

Leaving at 1am that night, I made the two hour drive to Woolleys Bay. There was still enough moonlight to see without artificial lights, it’s very meditative searching a remote surf beach at night.
I got started in the cool morning air.

Joanne had given me a rough location, the time it was lost and a photo taken at the time showing the group in the water.

Recent rough seas had changed the contour of the beach and I calculated the delicate silver ring would likely have moved further seawards down the steep slope so biased the first grid to account for this.

As the tide started to turn and the sweeping waves started to absorb my grid lines, I heard a small fluctuation in the background tone.
I re-scanned it with different settings and decided it was definitely a viable target

The shingle was below tide water level and collapsed as quickly as I could dig with the scoop. After about four or five rapid scoops, whatever it was now lay in the small mound on the beach.
It didn’t take long before a silver ring matching the description was laying in my hand.

4am was a bit too early to call Joanne with the good news(!),  so I headed off to kill some time until a more civilised hour.

Later that day, Joanne met up with me a little way down the coast at Whangaumu Bay for the handover.

It wasn’t a valuable ring, but was treasured by Joanne as it had been purchased on a holiday and encapsulated those special memories.
You couldn’t replace that.

Tearful Loss of Wedding Ring at Ruakaka, Tearful Reunion When Found

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

A very tearful Laura phoned – she had just watched her wedding ring vanish into the sand beneath her feet while in the sea at Ruakaka.

Her husband immediately grabbed the pink swimming goggles off the indignant daughter and he spent a long time searching for it until he was, as Laura described, “mildly hypothermic”.

I had recently returned a lost ring for Jax, Laura’s mother in law, and Jax recommended that Laura contact me immediately.

Which she did.

In the busiest summer season yet, I had literally only just returned from another ocean recovery 150km away near Whangarei and was exhausted. However, the emotion and desperation on the other end of the phone was very real – So I grabbed a strong coffee, some food, and threw the wet gear back in the car and made the two hour drive south.

I knew this part of the beach is metal detected every night at this time of year, and I was determined that this ring wouldn’t become part of someone’s collection.

On arrival the family met me, and Laura took me down to the beach and indicated the corridor where she thought the ring lay.

Fortunately, after a few days of strong offshore winds the surf was uncharacteristically very small for this coast. This was partially offset though by the corridor being right in the middle of the narrow surf lifesaving patrolled area, so lots of people to work around…

I did a quick scoping search, however this yielded nothing and ultimately I had to resort to my proven techniques to ensure every square inch was covered.

The beach was relatively trash-free, so the interruptions to the background threshold tones were few, and quickly dismissed.

Line by line I slowly closed off the indicated area, and I was starting to pre-plan the next search phase.

Suddenly a bold, gold tone in the headphones – The scoop came up out of the water and I rinsed the sand away.

There was Laura’s gold wedding ring.

I held it up to Laura, sitting on the beach, and she let loose with whoops and yells – closely followed by the rest of the beach!
They had by now all heard the story about this strange person zig-zagging around in the waves and had become invested in what I refer to as “The Worlds Most Boring Spectator Sport”.

After the excitement subsided, the handshakes and hugs done, I parked the car in the shade and slept solidly for a few hours before the drive home.

Find your lost ring on Miami Beach with a metal detector

  • from Miami (Florida, United States)

Don’t let your lost jewelry ruin your vacation, call me, Louis 305-608-1870.  I have a metal detecting service and can come out and find your lost item real quick whether its in the water, sand or grass.  If you lose something try to mark the area or remember a landmark like a lifeguard tower or a building.  That way when I get there you can put me as close as possible as to where you lost it.  In the photos above, she placed her ring on a towel and moved locations.  Once she realized her ring was missing, she dropped on her hands and knees looking for it, but with no luck.  Luckily one of the hotel members knew of my service and was able to give her my contact info.  I was able to drive out and find it for her in no time and not have her vacation ruined.  Check out my other successful recoveries on my homepage.

Lost Hermes ring at the beach found with waterproof metal detector

  • from Miami (Florida, United States)

If you lost a ring in the water, in the sand or in the backyard, call me, Louis 305-608-1870.  I have a metal detecting service and can quickly come out and find your lost item.  In these photos above the young lady lost an expensive Hermes gold ring. It was just given to her and did not fit well.  The waves were rough this day and one knocked the ring right off her finger.  Once a ring comes off your finger in the water and falls down to your feet, it quickly buries itself with the motion of the waves and is out of sight in seconds.   The best thing you can do it mark a spot on dry sand and try to remember how far out you were.  That way when I get there I can easily find it for you, as I did here.
