Gold ring lost in ocean, FOUND! Cape May, NJ By Jeffrey Laag

I received a call from Cathy last evening. Cathy explained that she was swimming in the ocean with her family when her ring slipped off of her finger and disappeared into the chest deep surf. After gathering some location specifics and checking the tide charts, I decided to search for the ring at tonight’s low tide. The surf was pretty sporty this evening, but I began working my search patterns as accurately as possible. After about 45 minutes of searching my detector emitted a distinct low growl. After sifting several scoops of sand, Cathy’s ring appeared in the bottom my scoop. I gave Cathy the good news via text and she and her husband come down and retrieved their ring. Another happy couple another successful recovery!

Another successful ring recovery in the books!!!

I received a call from this gentleman that he had lost is big gold ring in a sticker bush while tossing something over the fence at his storage unit. He tired to find it himself and was unable to get past the thorns.

I told him I would be there right after work today. Made the drive over and within 5 mins found his gold ring on the ground under the bush and mixed with some dead thorn leaves from the bush.

Huge Gold Class Ring Lost, Recovered and Returned in Rehoboth Beach, DE!!!

As a Ring Finder for 10 years now I have come to love the thrill of being able to return precious, sentimental, sometimes valuable keepsakes to folks who thought they were lost forever! This past Saturday in Rehoboth Beach, DE I found just such a precious, sentimental keepsake! It was a Gold Class of 1962 Kings College (Wilkes Barre, PA) class ring! 1962….This ring was in the possession of someone for 64 years!!! I felt obligated and excited about the challenge of finding its owner. There were clearly engraved initials on the inside: H.F.M. I first posted a picture of the ring in the local Lewes/Rehoboth Facebook Group. Countless people contributed to ideas and strategies to track down the ring’s owner! Fellow Kings College graduates crawled out of the woodwork and put me in touch with the alumni office….Then a 1960 graduate of Kings College found those initials in a 1962 yearbook….Hugh F Mundy. Sadly, Mr Mundy passed away in 2023…what a great man. Decorated war hero and a respected and accomplished PA state judge. His obituary listed his wife and children’s names and a simple google search allowed me to track them down. It turns out Mr Mundy’s daughter, Maura, a fellow Kings College grad, had been wearing his ring every day since his passing.  Maura was devastated when the ring slipped off her finger in the waves at Rehoboth Beach Friday…she assumed the ring was gone forever. I was so happy to get in touch with Maura and her mother and be able to return this ring that was beyond precious to them!

LOST HUGE GOLD RING IN POND NEAR MAXTON, NC….FOUND!!

Received a call from this gentleman last night about him losing a big gold ring!

Story goes, he was fishing at a highway pond/revisor and when he casted, the ring flew off and into about 2-2.5 feet of water but got swallowed up by the sandy bottom. He and his buddy jumped in trying to find it with no luck and Brian said he would find someone with equipment to come find it. He searched via ChatGPT and it told him to go to Gold Finders where he found me!

We agreed to meet up today after I got off work.

Drove down, met him at the spot, jumped in the water and scanned around. Found three cans then BOOM his big gold ring!

HE WAS SO EXCITED!! He took to IG and recorded a video of me in the water, full gear and his ring!

LOST GOLD WEDDING RING AT WHITE LAKE, NC….FOUND!!!

After finding the tungsten ring near Wilkesboro I received a call from the mom of this young man that he had lost his gold wedding ring at White Lake! I said I’ll be there in 3.5 hours!

Story goes he was running to catch a football and it fell off while running to catch it. He lost the ring before he caught the football. They searched and searched for hours with no luck.

I arrive at 8:00 pm, we walk to the spot and within 20-30 mins I had found his ring.

As I’ve stated, I’ll travel anywhere to help someone find their priceless items.

While out hitting swimming holes, this gentleman lost his tungsten wedding ring in shallow water when playing with his kids.

Another guy told me he had lost it and asked if I could find it. I searched the area and it took me about 10 mins to find it.

He has it back where it belongs!

I received a call from Nick this afternoon. Nick explained that his wife could not locate her two wedding rings after spending a day on the beach in Wildwood New Jersey. Nick and his wife had checked everywhere and we’re unable to locate the rings. I took the short ride over and met a couple on the beach where they had already marked out a distinct area where they believe the rings could be. Nick‘s wife Christine explained that she had removed the rings for safekeeping to place in her purse. However, upon returning to the hotel, the rings were not in her purse and she was fearing that they had dropped out while she was on the beach. I began searching a fairly tight pattern, and in less than two minutes, I heard the lovely low growl of a gold target. Out popped the diamond engagement ring from the sand! One more sweep across the same area and out came the wedding band! Christine was elated with tears of joy, and understandably so, they are a beautiful set of rings!! Another successful recovery, another happy couple, another vacation saved!

Concord Mills, NC – Lost wedding ring cleaning garden – FOUND!

Received text message Tuesday asking if I could help find her husbands wedding band.  I advised could help tomorrow afternoon as would be in area and another ring finder services that area.  She is out of town and timing is perfect husband contacted another but wasn’t available for a few days.  Story is that husband was cleaning garden and while tossing bad tomatoes over the fence he realized his ring was missing.   I advised I would arrive at 6:30 and would text when enroute and again at 10 minutes out.

Arrived at their home and husband led me to the garden area and reenacted his work pattern of throwing with left hand backwards over the fence. I searched the immediate area and V pattern towards to fence. Negative results…. Relocated to outside of fence and began search carefully from fence and 10 feet back. This was a little more difficult because of small trees and overgrowth.  After 10 minutes working across the fence line I heard the desired tone and visually spotted the ring at the base of a tree. I retrieved the ring and handed to its owner whom was very happy.

Conversation following the recovery, owner admitted he had purchased a metal detector locally and searched without success. Said “the thing just made a lot of noises”. He then described purchasing a pen pointer off Amazon and searching following an online search suggestion.  Great that he tried himself and fortunate the area was in his property but had it been in a public space the delay and prolonged time laying on the ground a stranger could have just happened by and found it and gained a new ring to his loss.   Absolutely nothing better that the big smiles folks make when their items are found and returned.

Ring Lost In Beach Sand, Atlantic City NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

Marino sent me a text wondering if I’d be able to come down to Atlantic City and help him and his wife find a very sentimental wedding ring. I told him I’d do everything I could to get there, but asked him to sit tight since Atlantic City is a pretty good drive, especially on a busy holiday weekend.

We were finally able to meet up around 8:00 that evening. I told Marino he’d have to meet me out on the roadway because parking was extremely limited. As luck would have it, I was able to grab a spot in one of the lots right by the boardwalk.

When we got out to the beach, Marino showed me the area where they had been sitting all day. He had a circle about 10 feet in diameter drawn in the sand and said, “The ring is in there somewhere—we just can’t find it.”

He explained that this wasn’t just any wedding ring. He and his wife had actually made the ring together in Canada a few years earlier, making it truly one of a kind and incredibly sentimental.

I started by making a pass around the outside of the circle, then worked my way inward with two more circular search patterns. Before long, I got the signal I was hoping for. Buried fairly deep in the sand was Marino’s wedding ring. It had likely been pushed deeper as they spent hours sifting through the sand trying to find it themselves.

The look of relief on their faces said it all. Another sentimental item was back where it belonged and another successful recovery was in the books for Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder, proudly serving all of New Jersey—and beyond.

Titanium Wedding Band recovery from the Saco in N. Conway NH.

I received a message from Cain’s wife after she found me online. While they were relaxing and enjoying the day on the Saco River in North Conway, New Hampshire, Cain’s wedding band slipped off and disappeared into the river.

The ring was lost somewhere within an area of roughly 300 square feet. After arriving on site and searching with my metal detector, I was able to locate and recover his wedding band in about 30 minutes.

There’s nothing better than returning something so meaningful to its owner. Seeing the relief and smiles on their faces made the trip completely worthwhile.
