Wedding Band Lost, Recovered and Returned in Wayne, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Received a call from Jeremy from Wayne, PA today. It turns out I successfully recovered his friends lost wedding band several years ago…and he was told to look me up in The Ring Finders directory. Once he tracked down my contact info he shared with me that he lost his titanium wedding band in his front or backyard while walking the dog the evening before. He spent some time looking for it himself but no luck. I met him at his home later that same day and he walked me through where he believed the ring most likely fell off while he was walking the dog. I’ve learned to prioritize search areas to maximize my success and it was clear to me it was most likely lost in front yard among tall grass and leaves. Rings on the surface have a unique signal on my metal detector so while I was registering quite a few signals they were all deep and and most likely trash. On my 3rd or 4th pass I finally got the signal I was hoping for…looked down…and I could immediately see his huge silver colored wedding band! I was very happy to be able to return Jeremy’s ring to him!

Pendants lost at South Mission Bay Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Danielle was playing with a puppy who came up to her on the beach, when the dog snagged her necklace breaking it. She had two pendants on that chain fall off into the dry sand. The next day I was contacted by Danielle after she found my phone number on The Ring Finders website. We made arrangements to meet that afternoon to define the search area and get the particulars on how they were lost and what I would be looking for. It sounded like a nice easy one for a change….wrong.  We met at the site, and as luck would have it, a group of people were camped in and on the edge of the search area. Since I was looking for both a small silver pendant and larger gold one (one that had belonged to her grandmother), every non-ferrous target would have to be scooped so nothing was missed. Good thing they weren’t made of steel, as the place is paved with nails and other ferrous fire ring debris. I gridded the entire area that I could without having to displace the folks that were camped there, but, couldn’t find either pendant. The people camped there were curious as to what I was looking for, and were nice enough to move some of their gear so I could expand the search area a bit into where they were set up. Still nothing.  We figured, as unlikely as it was, that someone must have spotted them and picked them up since the time they were lost. I asked Danielle to send me any photos she may have of the two pendants and I’d keep them on file in case I ran across someone who may have detected that area and found them. It was a nice day and I decided to stay and detect for a while. I went up the beach an eighth of a mile or so and worked my way back hoping by the end of the afternoon everyone would be gone and I’d have the whole area to myself. I made it back to the original search area just before sunset, everyone was gone, and I completely gridded the area where I couldn’t search earlier. Sure enough, just slightly out of the search area where the previous folks had parked their wagon (which we hadn’t moved), I got a signal that turned out to be the silver pendant. A careful search of the surrounding sand and the gold pendant’s weak low tone signal came through the nail and junk infested site and into my headphones. Danielle was very happy to get her family heirloom back again. A pleasure to meet you and thanks for the reward.

Night Search to Find Lost Engagement Ring in Doubtless Bay

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

I had just returned from an ongoing search for an elusive sentimental earring in the sea at Paihia and was sitting down to dinner when the phone rang.

It was Sally, and she had lost her engagement ring at Cable Bay earlier in the day. She was very concerned as they were due to finish their holiday the next morning and head south.

This time of year the beaches are popular hunting grounds for the summer ring ‘collectors’, and time was against us.  I said I’d head up straight away.

I arrived a few minutes before Sally, and on the last vestiges of twilight started hunting under the trees where I understood they had been seeking shade – Turned out I was at the wrong trees, which highlights why it is almost essential to have the person involved on site if at all possible.

Sally and her husband quickly put me onto the correct location, and what could have taken hours – or even a no-find, was over in a matter of minutes with the wayward ring quickly returned to the rightful hand.

They were most apologetic about dragging me away so late in the evening, and very thankful that I was able to drop everything to ensure a positive outcome.  “I can reheat my dinner, you couldn’t replace your ring…” 🙂

An hour later, I sat down to my dinner, again.

Lost Gold Engagement Ring Recovered In Gambrills Maryland!

  • from Baltimore (Maryland, United States)
Contact:

I was initially contacted by Shenna well over a month ago. She left me a voicemail stating that she was certain she lost her ring in her back yard a few weeks prior and after visually searching for it several times, she was unable to locate it.  Unfortunately, I was in the hospital at the time recovering from an appendectomy with some complications. I replied to Shenna and informed her of my situation and long story short, she was willing to wait until I was fully recovered to make arrangements to locate her ring.

I’m happy to inform you that today was the day that we agreed upon for me to come out and attempt to locate her lost ring. Shenna showed me where she thought she might have lost it while working in her beautiful garden. Once our conversation was over, I quickly got to work and within less than 5 minutes! Can you see it there hiding in the grass/straw???

Needless to say, Shenna was both amazed and grateful that her engagement was finally back where it belongs! Look at that great smile! A perfect ending to the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Massive gold signet ring lost, recovered and returned in Wallingford, PA

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

John reached out to me after finding me in the Ring Finder directory. He was looking for help in finding his 60 year old gold signet ring that came up  missing at his Wallingford, PA home after a day raking leaves. After considering buying or renting a detector himself he decided to hire a pro instead. I met John at his home the next day and he shared the details of where he was working in his yard. After a quick demonstration of my machine to prove to him I would not miss his ring if I scan over it…I went to work. He thought the ring most likely fell off in the front yard…so I started my search there…no luck. Off to the back yard we went…still no luck. Ok…time to step up my game! Back to the front yard with an expanded search…BOOM! I got that glorious gold surface tone in my headphones…I look down and there was his beautiful, massive gold ring! I called out to John who was sitting nearby…I was so happy to see the big smile on his face when he saw his ring in my hand!

Lost engagement ring in Antioch, CA…FOUND!!!

Bay Area Ring Finders Brendon Chapman… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP     925-580-2590

On Tuesday the 11th of October, Matthew text me with a request for my services.  His fiance had accidentally flung her engagement ring into some thick brush in their yard in Antioch, CA.  The two searched the brush and were 100% sure of the location in which it was lost.

Being on another search when I received the call and knowing that the location was secure and therefor the engagement ring was safe, I agreed to a search on Thursday afternoon.  Matthew was great about giving me all the information he could in advanced.  He, nor his fiance, would be available the day of the search.  His father was to be home at the location and would be my point of contact.  The father and I had a nice conversation while I pulled my equipment from the vehicle and got set up.  I turned on my metal detector while we were speaking, I had not performed a noise cancel, nor had I even turned on/put on my headset.  While talking I swung my detector back and forth over the ground near the brush.  I noted the unmistakable tone I new I’d be looking for and looked at the screen to confirm the 7-10 VDI.  I bent down, and Bob’s Your Uncle there was the ring very near where Matthew said it would be.  The whole search took 30 seconds and…We Made The Recovery!!! The ring now has a renewed life and great story for the happy couple.  I wish them great luck with their future!

Mike lost his white gold wedding band while taking out the trash at his home in Spring City, PA. He immediately realized the ring slipped off his finger but couldn’t find it on the ground. I met him a little while after we spoke and started to search at the location of the trash cans. Thankfully, the ring was quickly found under some boxes next to the cans!
