Gold Ring Lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found.
I received a call from Christa today asking for help to find her ring lost in the sand. She had gotten out of the water, and was brushing herself off, when her ring flew off of her finger and into the sand. She had looked for a while, and then felt the search futile. I got there and found that she had the area of the loss cordoned off with a rectangular line drawn in the sand, which helped narrow the search down. Within about 10 minutes, I was able to hand Christa back her ring. I am glad I was able to make her day.

Gold Wedding Ring Lost at Malibu Beach, CA…Found.
I received a call earlier today from Christian asking if I would be able to help him find a ring lost at Malibu Beach. I had one commitment to take care of, and asked if he would be able to wait until I was done, which he agreed to do. Traffic was favorable, and I was at the site in an hour. I found out that Christian and his wife of about 1 year were visiting the US from Germany, and wanted to spend a little time at one of our popular beaches. It turned out that it was his wife Freida’s ring that was lost. She had removed it, and put it on her towel, but soon after a wave came over the rise in the sand which caused her and her husband to jump up, and move back so as to not get wet. It was then that she realized that the ring had been on the towel, and was now in the sand. Christian and Freida, along with two of their friends searched the sand for over an hour, but with no luck. Christian then turned to the internet to look for help, and found The Ring Finders. I set up, and began my search grid. I went up, and then came back. As soon as I was about half way back I got a real good hit in the head phones, put in the scoop, and pulled out a nice heavy gold band. When I asked Christian what I was looking for, he just held up his ring, because the rings were identical; that would be hard to replicate for sure. I am sure glad that this nice couple from Germany will be able to go back home without a tugging in their heart of something meaningful to them, left behind. What a great day!

1950 Class Ring Returned, Missing for 64 years.
I was conducting an underwater scuba search for a lost wedding ring. As usual, I will find many different items on my searches. I was approx. 25 feet deep in an area that was sandy, though under the thin layer of sand was a foot of muck. My detector made a strong sound, I knew it was either a coin or a ring by the tone. Digging in muck really clouds the water and makes it very difficult to recover items. I was trying to clear the area by waving clear water into my hole and I caught a glimpse of this large gold ring. It wasn’t what I was looking for, though it was a nice to see! I cleaned the ring up and got a closer look, it was 1950 St. Thomas Academy Jostens Class Ring. 18 Grams of 10K Gold. The next day I started my search online and it only took me about 5 Minutes to find the name that went with the initials sketched in the ring. I found out he was living in Fort Worth Texas and is now 82 years old. I contacted him and he was quite surprised to say the least. He couldn’t remember the exact lake he had lost the ring in, though he remembered losing it the summer he bought it in 1950.
The ring is now on it’s way to it’s rightful owner. Congrats and I’m glad I could help out in recovering your lost valuable.

Keys Lost at Bolsa Chica State Beach, CA…Found.
I received a text from Gary today asking if I would be available to help him find his keys that were lost the night before at the beach. He had been out with friends enjoying the temperate weather, having a fire on the beach, and roasting S’mores when he noticed his keys were no longer in his pocket. These were keys that had a specific purpose, and would be hard to replace. Also there was a flash-drive attached that had personal information which he wanted to keep. I told Gary I would be able to meet him at the beach in a couple of hours, and he sent me the location. We met, and he showed me the area. I began my search, and realized the area was infested with foil, pull tabs, bottle caps, and a lot of iron in the form of screws, nails and bolts, with a few coins as well. The search was slow because of digging a lot of unwanted items, but in order to make sure I did not pass over the keys, I dug every hot hit. About 1 1/2 hours later I dug a quarter, and once I put it away, I passed my coil over the area again, and had another good hit. I put my scoop in, and found Gary’s key chain. Needless to say that he was thoroughly happy about having them back. Glad to have made his day! Gary was referred to my by Stan Ross (fellow Ring Finder).

Lost Diamond Ring in yard, Port Orange, Florida….Found!
Thousands of people across this great land drop things every day in their yards! Some of those things are found and many are never recovered. People often move to another house, sometimes across town and other times to another state. And yet those lost items remain hidden in the ground waiting for someone else to find them.
Nancy had lost a very special ring in her front yard months earlier and now was in the process of moving out. The very thought of never seeing her precious family heirloom again drove her to search for someone who could help her find this unique platinum and diamond ring that was handed down from her great grand mother.
As I listened to Nancy’s story I figured the ring should be fairly easy to find, so we set up a time to meet and do a thorough search. Nancy showed me the area of the yard where the ring was lost and as soon as I started searching my detector began giving off all sorts of noise. I tried two other search modes and still there was lots of static and interferrence of some kind. I finally switched to the Prospecting mode and in 5 minutes I got a sweet low signal and there 3 inches under the grass was Nancy’s beautiful ring!

After a day at the beach, I got home to realize I had lost my engagement and wedding ring. I rushed back the next morning in hopes of finding someone metal detecting and eventually found one in the area to rent. I searched for 4 hours to no avail. My husband and I went back a few days later, renting the metal detector and searching for 4-5 hours again. And again, coming home empty-handed.
Losing jewelry is a horrible feeling, and that feeling is amplified by 1000 when they are wedding rings. No amount of insurance money would bring back MY rings.
I had seen advertisements online for the Ring Finders, but I was hesitant to contact them. I had my doubts about identifying the location of my ring for them to find. But after two unsuccessful trips, I figured there was a 50/50 shot they would return them, and I took the odds.
I emailed Keith around 6:30 on a Saturday night and had an email back within an hour that he would be calling in the morning. He called as promised and agreed to meet my husband back at the beach in around an hour. My hesitation was beginning to ease!
We showed him the area where we believed the rings had been lost – the place we searched over and over with our rented detector – and he found them in less than 20 minutes.
The successful result speaks for itself! We could not be happier with our decision to reach out to Keith and are beyond thrilled that he could locate the lost rings. In talking with Keith afterward, I found out that he does survival and search/rescue training for his career. He certainly takes that professionalism and determination over into this field. I highly recommend Keith searching for anything of significant importance.

Heirloom Ring Lost at Santa Monica Beach, CA…Found.
I received a call from Sean today wondering if I would be able to help him find a ring. After discussing the details I felt we should go to the spot after most people had left the beach. Sean explained that he had been out on a first date the night before, when they decided to go to the beach at night to watch the surf, and get to know one another. At some time when they were sitting there his new date lost her ring, a ring her late grandmother had given her before she passed away. They searched for the ring, but it seemed to have disappeared into nothingness. Sean felt so bad for his date that he was going to try all avenues to find her ring. I am happy that I was called to be a part of the recovery, and return the joy to this young lady. When I found the ring Sean was overjoyed, and was immediately on the phone with his date, who Sean said was in tears of joy. Sean’s date was not at the beach with us, so I was not able to get a picture of her with her ring, but if I do I will post it.
