White Gold Mens Wedding Band Lost On Studland Beach

John wife & family from Poole were enjoying a day out on the beach when John felt his ring slip from his finger in the sea.

After a painful search John gave up and sadly pondered the loss of his wedding ring. Over a week since he lost it he came across theringfinders.com and gave me a call. Some photos taken on the day of the loss helped me narrow down the search area. My first attempt yielded nothing but on the second- success!

I met John a few days later to return the ring and was thrilled to be reunited with it again. John promised to make a donation to the Margaret Green Animal Sanctuary shortly.

*** Greg and Jolene are from the San Francisco Bay Area and  vacationing at Newport Beach for a week. The third day Greg went into the ocean for a swim in the surf. As he was walking out of the surf he shook his hand and his gold wedding band flew off into waist deep water. The waves were coming in at such a rate he could not see the ring before it disappeared into the sand.

I got an early morning text from Jolene asking how and what my service works. I told here I work on a gratuity basis. They could decided what it was worth to them after they see how I perform the search. After determining that they were just minutes away from my location and the tide was as low as it could be until tomorrow. I told her that I would be right there if they could meet me.

We met on the beach which is what I call a short beach, that beach has a steep incline. The tide does not go far out from the upper slope (dry sand towel line) The important thing is that they could give me the best North/ South location. I didn’t feel the ring was far out at the low tide but that’s where I started to stay ahead of the incoming tide.

After about a half hour I had grid searched to mid-slope where I got the one an only signal. Two digs with my sand scoop and I had Greg’s gold ring in my scoop.  The incoming tide forced me to start in knee high water, even though I felt the ring was up higher on the slope. Best to eliminate the lower area before the water was too deep to search.

Both Jolene and Greg were elated and relieved that they had the ring. Now they could enjoy the rest of their vacation, They admitted to me that they didn’t believe the metal detector could find a ring that had been in the surf for almost a whole day. Like most people that call The Ring Finders they told me I was their last hope. I love doing this, even when I can’t find the item, you can’t get them all and you can find the item if it isn’t there.  Reality!

Don’t wait, call as soon as possible… Stan the Metal Detector Man …  949-500-2136  .. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE “

Wife loses husband’s wedding band (6/22/21)

  • from Bel Air (Maryland, United States)

While metal detecting on the beach, I was approached by a woman who had lost her husband’s wedding band.  He was going to go swimming and asked his wife to hold his wedding band.  she put it in a pouch with some other belongings and when she went to get something out, her husband’s wedding band flew out.  She had a pretty good idea of where the ring landed and ultimately I was able to recover it.

Wedding Rings Found! (6/28/2021)

  • from Bel Air (Maryland, United States)

Today I received a call from a man whose son AND daughter in law lost their wedding rings.  I told them I could be at their location shortly.  The recently wed couple and both set of parents greeted me and explained that both husband and wife took their rings off and put them in the cup holder of a chair before swimming.  They forgot the rings were in the chair, closed it and the rings flew off into the sand.  After determining exactly what I was looking for, I began my search.  The families had done a great job of gridding off the area and made certain no one disturbed where they had been sitting.  With about 15 minutes the husband’s band was recovered, followed by the wife’s wedding band and eventually her engagement ring.  The couple were very appreciative and everyone returned to the vacation home with a smile.

Lost ring in Arches National Park: Found

Kevin and Kristen brought their children from Vermont all the way to Southern Utah to visit Moab and the beautiful red rock country. While they were in Arches National Park, Kevin took off his 18K gold wedding band so it wouldn’t get scratched as they climbed around the famous Double Arch. Kristen held the ring, but unfortunately, it disappeared into the soft, red sand. They looked around in the sand, and some helpful onlookers helped out, too, but they couldn’t find the ring. Kristen contacted me through TheRingFinders.com, and we talked through our options. Metal detecting is against the rules in national parks, so Kristen and Kevin talked to several rangers to ask for permission for me to find the ring in the park with my metal detectors. They made several calls to several people at several locations, and they were able to get permission!

It’s more than a 3-hour drive from my home to Arches National Park. I left my home at 5:00 am this morning and met up with Kristen, and with Matt, an Arches National Park ranger who was assigned to accompany us as we looked for the ring. Matt’s job was to make sure we were careful, and to let other Park visitors understand that we were metal detecting in the Park with permission. After about 10 minutes of searching, we found the ring in the sand! Metal detecting in a national park was a unique experience for me. I’m grateful to the National Park Service and to Matt for being willing to give us permission and help to find the lost ring and save a family vacation!

*** Laura lost her Tiffany & Co. 18k Gold  La Pousette earring back in the grass. The loss occurred when she decided to remove her diamond stud earrings so her new playful Labrador puppy wouldn’t accidentally pull the earring loose. She knew exactly where the loss happened but she could not visually see the small backing.

I got a call from her because she believed her only chance to find it would be a metal detector. I had a short discussion with her, explaining the complications of finding small gold items with hobby metal detectors. We agreed that I could meet her at her home that afternoon with my detectors that are set up for small gold items. We still wouldn’t know what the search conditions would be like till I arrived at the location. She would have a matching piece of the gold backing, so I could test my equipment for a signal in the soil conditions of her backyard.

Two of my detectors and two different pinpointers had decent signals. I did get a weak signal in the grass with both detectors, but couldn’t get either pinpointers to give me a signal. The small backing must have been on edge or possibly there was something making the signal from the pinpointer? After some frustration, I decided to carefully scratch through the grass catching a small glimmer of the white gold. Boom! Successful recovery.

I’ve never heard of a La Pousette earring backing so after I returned home researched them on line. They are the the most secure backings for expensive diamond stud earrings. As I understand, some of the most expensive are sold as set ( post and backing). Over the past years of finding jewelry for people, I’m learning a lot about jewelry.

I was looking forward to helping Laura find this small piece of gold. Also, knowing it was going to be a challenge. Laura was appreciative to see how difficult the search was. She was glad that she didn’t buy or rent a metal detector for a Do It Yourself Search.

I received a message from Brandyn near Trimble, Ohio that he had lost his wedding ring and that he had contacted another member of the  https://theringfinders.com/ that had referred me as I was closer to his area. Brandyn said he knew he was out of the counties I had listed (I’m in Lancaster, Ohio so I do Fairfield, Hocking and Perry Counties Ohio) but he was hoping I would make an exception, which I did!  We arranged a day & time that worked for both of us and met at the property!  It was pretty far out in the country in Morgan County & very close to Athens County. Brandyn explained they brushhogged and mowed an area of tall grass. He was working and picking up piles of the grass & weeds & throwing them over a fence and at some point saw his wedding ring was missing! After trying to find it without luck he contacted The Ring Finders website which led to me being there to help!

After showing me the areas where he was working and pointing to the fence by the woods, we hoped it was in the mowed area still and not thrown over, but I was ready to try my best with my Garrett AT Max Waterproof Metal Detector! I started detecting & when I heard ‘that sound’ I knew it had to be it, FOUND within a few minutes! I love this detector and even more handing the ring back to Brandyn! His smile showed how happy he was! It’s rarely that quick so it was a blessing!
