I got a very nervous phone call from Londa about 1130pm on Oct 22, 2015 asking if I could help find her husband Wayne’s wedding band that he lost in the sand. She said they had just gotten married the day before and were on their honeymoon from Lexington NC. She went on to say that they were sitting on the beach and when her husband stood up he was cleaning the sand off himself and shook his hands when his ring went flying. I told her I’d be there in less than 30 minutes.
When I arrived she met me in the parking lot and we headed to the sand. As I got to the beach I saw Wayne with a flashlight looking for his ring. Thankfully, Londa had already drew a line in the sand showing me where they were sitting. Wayne showed me where he was standing when the ring came off his finger so I started my grid. By his description I figured the ring would have gone towards the ocean but actually ended up closer to the dunes. It took me about 5 minutes to find it and I let Wayne pick it out of the scoop. Needless to say they were one happy couple!!! This will be one more memory in a long life together.
Londa did everything right by calling very shortly after Wayne lost his ring and by marking off the area he lost it in.

Got a call this weekend from a guy whose wife lost both of her rings while doing yard work. He found one of the rings, but couldn’t find the other. The area was a flower bed that they had recently cleared of brush, and then spread a bale of straw. It was a real life needle in a haystack! We quickly started looking when we got there, first scanning the hay with our handheld metal detector. Nothing. Then I detected the grassy area around the flower bed. Lost Diamond Earring in Cypress, Texas (found) by John Volek

I was contacted by Michelle regarding a lost diamond earring in the backyard of her residence. Michelle advised she had been doing some yard work when the earring was dislodged from her ear by a falling branch. Michelle felt very confident the earring had fallen into the leaves right where she had been standing. It was very clear from speaking with Michelle that the earring were very important to her, and she wanted to do everything possible to find it.

Lost Engagement Ring in Crosby, Texas (found) by John Volek
I was contacted by Amanda on 10-18-2015 regard ring her lost engagement ring in a field near some new home construction. Amanda said while she and her fiancé were out looking at some new homes in Crosby her new engagement ring must had fallen off her finger. Amanda said she and her fiancé had been searching for her lost ring for several days, but had no luck conducting a visual search of the area. Amanda said on the third day they purchased a new metal detector and spent several more hours hunting for her lost ring.
Amanda said they were pretty sure of the area where the ring was lost, describing it as a grassy area along side of a road. Amanda felt the ring had slipped of after they parked and exited their vehicle to look at the new homes.
I made arrangements to meet Amanda on Monday 10-19-2015 to search for her lost engagement ring in Crosby.
The search area was a grassy drainage ditch along side of the main roadway into the subdivision. Amanda said she was sure she had had the ring on her finger after exiting the vehicle. Unfortunately, even in this new subdivision the grassy ditch was littered with small aluminum targets, like every 12 inches. It was a really difficult and time consuming search, but we prevailed.

Sunday morning I received an e-mail from Sonya asking if there was any possible way I could help her find her Diamond Pave wedding ring. Apparently on Saturday she was helping put the boats into the dock area when all of a sudden her ring slipped off of her finger and dropped straight down into the murky water. Without hesitation Sonya jumped right in and immediately started to feel around for her ring. The bottom was full of small one inch size clam shells and sticks and such making it impossible to find her ring. She tried using a mask and underwater lights but still could not locate her precious ring.
I assured Sonya that her ring was there and that the chances of finding it were very, very good! So after church with my family and a quick lunch I drove out to meet Sonya and her family. As she showed me the exact area where the ring fell into the water I slipped my scuba boots on and with my scoop and Tiger Shark in hand I lowered myself into the water. The first couple of targets were elusive as the bottom was very uneven and loaded with small clam shells and debris. My Tesoro Tiger Shark sounded off on a wrench, some assorted nuts and bolts and the occasional nail. At this point I figured it was a matter of simply eliminating all the targets in the 6 foot area and sooner or later I would find her ring. And sure enough after 15 minutes of cleaning the area out–there in the scoop was Sonya’s ring! The joy mixed with relief was obvious on Sonya’s face as she immediately slid the ring back on her finger where it belonged.
It truly was my honor and my privilege to help you Sonya and thank you so much for your generous reward.

I got a referral from my son-in-law on a lost ring he saw on Craigslist. I contacted Ruth, whose husband, Todd had lost his wedding band while they were here on vacation from North Carolina. After talking with Ruth she explained that the wedding band had originally belonged to her father and that Todd took a liking to it and started wearing it about 6 months ago. Ruth also said that Todd had lost the ring in the surf about 2 hours before high tide.
I got the description and location which I then learned was lost behind a resort in Myrtle Beach. Normally I would pass this off to Matt Fry the TRF member in Myrtle Beach but I didn’t want to further complicate this so I took the request.
I ended up at the location and searched extensively for the next 3 days during the low tides with absolutely no luck. By then I was convinced someone else had found the ring. After my third search, I contacted Jim Brouwer, President of our local MD hunting club, asking him if he’d put the description out to the other members to see if anyone had found the ring and if so, was willing to return it. Jim replied saying he had found a similar ring around the same location. Wow, what’s the chances of this all falling into place? I contacted Ruth the next day asking if she could provide a picture of the ring and her husband’s ring finger size. About 3 hours later Ruth sent me the information and I forwarded it on to Jim along with Ruth’s contact information. Bingo – we had an exact match. Jim got the ring in the mail and back to Todd and Ruth.
A big thanks goes to Jim Brouwer for his complete understanding, cooperation, and willingness to help return a treasure and put a smile on Todd’s face.
Karen called earlier today to ask if I would be able to help her find her ring she believed she lost in her yard. She explained that she had been busy reconditioning the yard for the garden that they grow. She had spread out a lot of manure, and then covered that with 4 to 6 inches of hay, which was to be roto tilled into the soil. When she was done she realized the ring was missing. I was available, and we arranged to meet after she got off work, about 4 hours later. One thing I knew, was that because it may have been lost in her yard, it wasn’t going anywhere, so the need to be there quickly wasn’t necessary.
When I got there, a bit early, Karen pulled in about the same time. She came right over, because my vehicle was not familiar, so she figured I was The Ring Finder she had called. She showed me the yard, and I could see it was thoroughly covered with hay, and could smell the pungent smell of the manure which was underneath the hay. I fired up my detector with the standard coil, and proceeded to go over the yard. It wasn’t long before I realized a problem. The ground was infested with iron, which caused the detector to mask out anything in range of the coil. I went over the whole yard only finding one piece of aluminum. I then switched over to my 6 inch coil knowing its ability to recover better than the standard coil, and proceeded to detect the yard again. I swung about 3 times, right where I had swung before when that unmistakable sound of gold rang in my headphones. I pulled out my pinpointer and worked the area, finding Karen’s ring about 4 to 5 inches down. A pinpointer was a necessity especially because the ring color was almost the same as the hay it was buried in. Karen had been in another area of the yard when I made the recovery, so when she came back I mentioned that the ground was infested with iron which made it hard to hunt. She agreed that it was probably going to be difficult, and then I held up the ring to show her. It was then she beamed with a very contagious smile.
Karen explained that this ring was her mom’s mother’s ring, so it had some deep sentimental value to her, and the thought of losing it was not a joyful occasion. I was happy to reunite Karen with this reminder of her mom, and leave her with a great smile.

Kyle was installing fencing at a new home, and just for safety he put his 14k diamond wedding ring in his pocket so as not to lose it. On his way home he went to his pocket to put the ring back on, and it was missing. He checked out the W.W.W. found The Ringfinders, and gave me a call, I responded within 30 minutes and found the ring 2 inches deep in the dirt by a fencepost. His concern was that it could have been anywhere on site, or even in the concrete around the post`s. Another happy customer.
Lost Texas A&M Ring at Crystal Beach, Texas (Found)

My wife lost her Aggie ring today about 7pm in about four to five feet of water today about thirty or so yards from the beach. I have no idea if it’s even feasible to look in the surf like that but I figured I would try. We are staying at 1109 Blue Water in Crystal Beach. If you are willing to look please let me know. Thank you for your time.

I have worked Crystal Beach before knowing it is located on the Bolivar Peninsula, just east of Galveston, and only accessible from the west by ferry boat. The ferry boat during the peak season can be a nightmare one often has to wait in line for hours to get to the other side. I was glad we were in the off-season.
I called Zachary back and he explained how his wife Paula had lost her Texas A&M Graduate Ring in the Surf on Crystal Beach. Zachary said he had a very good idea of where the ring had landed in the water. Zachary said he had made some marking on the sand to maintain the drop location in the water. In short, great job Zachary, this was the main factor in the recovery.
Zachary sent a few pictures of the beach and sand markings illustrating the ring drop zone in the water. Zachary and I made plans to meet early the next morning on Crystal Beach to search for the ring.
Back to the ferry boat discussion, cost me an hour each way, with little or no traffic, not sure what the ferry boat guys are up to?
I pulled onto the beach with the provided instructions and knew I was in the right spot. I immediately saw a large tent shade with the Texas A&M logo printed on the roof. Zachary and Paula quickly laid out the ground work, and we set out to find her lost ring.
The beach at Bolivar Peninsula took the brunt of Hurricane IKE, and restoration-rebuilding was evident with several nice new homes at the shoreline.
Zachary walked out into the water and set the perimeter for where we needed to conduct the search. I worked the grid east to west, pulling up a few deep targets, just didn’t want to make a mistake and miss the ring. I reset my search and started working north to south and hit the ring on the second pass.

Mark was down on Gyro Beach for the evening with the boys. He dropped his wedding ring in the sand, knew where it was but the whole group after searching around,could not find it. He called me the next day, which was Thanksgiving Day, asking when I would be available to help him in his search. Experience tells me the sooner the better, I told him I will be there in 30 minutes. I got there before he did and could see by the scrape marks where they had been searching, 5 minutes later it was in my pouch. Mark arrived and was delighted to see his diamond wedding band, he tells me I saved his marriage.
