Lost Platinum and Diamond Engagement Ring in House Found with Dowsing Rod in Oxford Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

All She Wanted….

…was to show it off some more, especially this coming up weekend at a wedding, but about a month ago Krista’s newly received engagement ring went missing while moving into a new house. Add to this a family funeral, stressful job, exhaustively searching for the ring and still not being unpacked led Krista and Fiancée to nearly give up the hunt. Searching for help led her to the ringfinders. We made plans to meet today but, in the meantime, having some extra luxury of time before meeting I wanted to see if any information/area of influence could be obtained by a remote locating technique called photo dowsing. Performing a general dowsing survey over the photo with my dowsing rod I got promising results as to where to start looking in the house, either on the main floor or basement. Krista had no idea where to start, only remembering taking the ring off and possibly putting it in a pocket or another type of container, hoping to remember at a later date. With not much to go thru on the main floor, we went to the basement. On the floor were clothes piled up, along with boxes and bags. We initially started to metal detect thru the clothes with my Garrett Carrot pin pointer. Taking a break Krista moved some things out of the way as I assembled my dowsing rod. Baiting it with my platinum sample and raw diamond sample I began the dowsing process. The antenna rod locked in a direction towards the clothes pile. Walking around the pile I repeated the dowsing procedure and got another lock creating an “X” marks the spot. I told Krista I felt that her ring was in this vicinity. Plowing down thru the pile we came upon a small black paper bag that she remembered seeing upstairs. As she reached into the bag and pulled out a clear sandwich bag her beautifully stunning ring revealed itself! Shaking her head in disbelief, she was nearly speechless and out of breath. Recomposing herself she ran upstairs to tell her fiancee the great news. Soon I was hearing 4 happy feet above me running towards the staircase. I held the ring up and he could not believe it. They were very pleased! Now with the find removing all the stress they can only go onward and upwards in their relationship and can finally show the ring off to their family and friends in grand celebration!

Lost White Gold Engagement Ring with Diamond Found in The Snow in Grand Blanc Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

White Gold Vs. Steel…..

…..A month ago, as Kate was leaving work in the snowstorm that hit the Detroit area, her engagement ring came off in the parking lot as she was cleaning snow off the car. Not realizing that it was missing until she got settled at home, she panicked as this was her fiancée’s grandmothers ring passed down to her. Thoughts of venturing back to her workplace had them pushing back thru the snow to the parking area. Upon arrival the snowplow had been there and piles of snow a few feet deep surrounded the lot. At this time Kate’s dad arrived to assist. Doing a visual search of what they could see brought no luck. As they retreated back home Kate noticed a few snowplows and the sparks flying out from under the blades. That sight brought chills upon her, and made her shudder as she wondered what the fate of her ring was and if she’d ever see it again. She reached out to me and that following saturday I met them. We searched with the metal detector and dug thru the snow but encountered thick chunks of solid ice and had to call off the search. Since the lot was patrolled 24/7 we knew wherever the ring was that it was safe. We elected to let the snow melt down and check again at a later date. Today we returned and while Kate and fiancée searched dry ground, I tuned up my MXT metal detector to maximum sensitivity and started to search. Electing to start at the remaining deeper pile of snow I got some junk items, and a few coins came up which made me hopeful. Nearing the last of the pile the metal detector whispered a good signal on the threshold of it’s signal power saying dig here. As I scraped thru the snow about 8 inched deep, I saw the top of Kate’s ring! Clearing the rest of the snow brought the ring out of it’s frozen encasement. I stood in awe as I couldn’t believe that it wasn’t damaged or even scraped, just a bit dirty! I waved to her fiancee to come over quietly as Kate was on the other side of the lot. He had wondered what was up and as I pointed down he was in a total zombie like state and couldn’t believe the ring was well over 30 feet from where it fell off, and that it survived the steel push of the plow. Kate quickly noticed we were not working and came over. We pointed to the ring and watching her reach down to pick it up is a memory I won’t forget…I’m glad her tears did not turn into icicle’s! Looking towards heaven Kate said thank you! We were all thrilled with the outcome of the search, starting with Kate and her fiancee surviving the big snow, and ending with her beautiful white gold ring miraculously winning the battle against the steel!

Lost wedding band, East Brunswick, NJ February 2022

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

I saw and add on a lost ring site that somebody had lost their wedding band while walking in a park. The add had all the pertinent information of the exact area it was lost. I quickly messaged Michelle explaining that she should just post the generic information due to the fact that unfortunately many people are dishonest, and may possibly go locate it and never return it to her. I also forwarded my ring finders link and told her if she needed help give me a shout. She liked my up front approach and honesty, so we arranged to meet at the park. we went over all the details, an while i was searching alongside the path, she walked with me to show exactly where she was. Unfortunately I had no luck, so I told her where to search in her car, post some flyers around spots she had went, an MOST importantly, do not through out her trash, but go home and dump it out and sift through it very carefully. 2 days later she messaged me in total shock, YES she found it stuck to a box. Although I did not locate it with my machine, I positively, with my knowledge in lost rings and jewelry, get 100% credit for her finding her beautiful platinum/diamond ring.

Grace Under Pressure……

…..While in the process of moving, mid-term exams and her vehicle breaking down, Grace’s ring came off after she cleaned snow from her car window and accidentally falling down on some ice. Raising herself up off the ice without injury, she went into the house to wind down, not realizing until later her ring was missing. Searching frantically with her friends the next morning brought no luck. She was fueled with energy to find it as this was her first ring she had ever purchased. Determined to remain courageous and regaining her composure, she came across the ringfinders and decided to schedule an appointment. Earlier today she showed me the general area where she fell, and then went back into the house. Using the turn on and go mode on my MXT metal detector I quickly grid searched the area, and about a foot off the back tire of her vehicle, the MXT gave a good signal beneath the snow. Brushing away the snow revealed her one of a kind ring! Walking back into the house I showed it to her and she flew off the couch with excitement and a huge smile. She was thankful that her sentimental ring was back where it belongs and that even tho she was Grace under pressure, she proved that keeping a positive attitude and remaining determined to succeed in stressful situations has it’s rewards.

Stooopid Cupid….

…..Often gets it wrong and when he does it’s painful, but when he’s right, it’s pure bliss. Why he was firing at Heather on a snowy Valentine’s day is unknown, but it knocked one of her earring’s off that was a surprise gift from her husband. Now… Heather’s been hit by Cupid before as she is madly in love with her husband, so she wondered was Cupid blindfolded? If so, was he implying love is blind? Hmmm….or was he desiring a new metal for his arrows? How could something like this happen when this special day is supposed to be all about love? Feeling as tho she’d been shot thru the heart with the loss, she reached out to me for help. When she explained what happened I said Well, that’s what happens when you give a baby a bow and arrow. Laughing a bit helped ease her stress. I explained that I brought my own bow and arrow in the form of a powerful metal detector that emits invisible lightning bolts that locates lost metal thousands of times faster than any of Cupid’s arrows can travel. As she rolled her eyes with a smile she pointed out the search area then went in the house to get us some coffee. I started the grid search and within a few minutes under a patch of ice I got a signal on the metal detector’s meter that was a match to her other earring. Cutting around the spot carefully with my pocket knife exposed the diamond part of the earring! I texted her that I would like her to come outside. As I pointed down she saw the earring, blinked a few times in disbelief, putting her hands to her face joyfully exclaimed her excitement that it was found! Holding the earring definitely warmed up her hands and heart, bringing the couple’s love for each other even closer to their hearts. In a final move Heather held the earring to the sky and said Cupid you lose and you are not getting your arrow back….Roses are red, violet’s are blue, finding a ringfinder made my dreams come true!

It All Came Out In The Wash…….

……A few days ago Don’s fiancee needed a short rest from the children so she sat on the couch. Not planning to fall asleep she did anyway but before she did she took her ring off and placed it on the table next to the couch. Upon waking, she noticed her ring missing. Since there was a toddler in the house their suspicion was cast in that direction. There also were thoughts that the ring came off outside. Using every fiber of their being they looked but to no avail. Feeling as though they went thru the spin cycle they were thinking of throwing in the towel as they didn’t want to air their dirty laundry to the wrong person. As their enthusiasm began to shrink further, they eventually folded and called me. I said I’d give it a spin, it sounds like loads of fun. I searched the outside with no results then went inside. I checked the area where the ring was last seen with no results. Sockrificing other parts of the house and suggesting we move to where the laundry was handled is where we watched it all unfold. Probing thru the clean basket with my pin pointer I kept getting signals from zippers/buttons but as we continued pulling stuff out the gold ring revealed itself! I said I got it! I sheet you not! As Don excitedly looked at it he said this definitely took a load off their minds! We concluded the toddler put the ring in the dirty clothes basket and somehow it made it all the way into the clean. I said the tides have turned! Washing dirty things never felt so good, and she’ll be thrilled when she gets home! You were maid for each other and this is a start of a whole new era!

Man wedding gold band found in the snow

  • from Cobourg (Ontario, Canada)

Had a text from Amanda about how her husband had lost his gold wedding band outside in the snow. She was extremely upset. They had tried to find it themselves with a cheap metal detector with no success. After a couple tries, the ring was found at the end of the driveway, buried in a snow drift. Another happy customer.

The In-Tire Story…

….During a heavy snowstorm, Tom was on his way to work and stopped to grab a coffee and a donut.

When he returned to his vehicle, he proceeded to clean the snow off the windows. Pondering the inflated price of his purchase he didn’t realize his ring came off. He looked around tirelessly with no luck. Feeling exhausted, he called me and asked if I could come by asap and I said don’t worry no pressure so I headed out. Feeling pumped up, I started to search as he was on his way to meet me. I felt I was putting in a wheely good effort but the search was starting to feel a bit flat as I covered the whole area in question. I noticed a car parked in the spot he was near and decided to wait for it’s driver to appear. By this time Tom had arrived and was feeling deflated when I told him the ring had not been found yet. As the person we were waiting for approached their car we explained what we were doing and asked if they could back out slowly so we could look for the ring. As they backed out a revolution-ary discovery was made under the tire….Tom’s Ring! Feeling like a big wheel again he thanked me for keeping it wheel as his life would have been flat with the loss. With the search being all tired up, we agreed that this was a sign of a good-year and said see ya round.

Sentimental Heirlooms…..

……As Abbie was unloading groceries from her vehicle the other night one of the bags broke. As she was picking up the contents, her soldered wedding rings came off. Frantically looking in the dark with her husband brought no luck. The next morning another search commenced with the same result. The rings have been passed down thru the family for many generations and irreplaceable. On site there was about 3 inches of snow, along with compacted snow from her prior searches and the vehicle being moved. A quick turn on and go with my MXT metal detector had me searching quickly. I was looking for a white gold signal on the MXT meter and running out of searchable real estate I got a higher read than usual. Pulling the depth switch it read 0/1 inch deep. I got out my pin pointer and got a signal, and under a shoeprint, compressed under the snow her beautiful rings came to light! I waved for Abbie to come over and she excitedly asked if I found it. She reached down, lifted it from the snow and began the thawing process. Once dried, I looked at it with my loupe magnifier and discovered one of the rings was white gold and the other sterling silver!… which explained the unusually high meter read and something Abbie didn’t know. With that information she was even more fascinated and wanted to find out more about the rings, and with her daughter in arms the lil one was reinforcing the well kept promise for now and to come.
