I got a text from Britt whose husband had lost his wedding ring. He believed he lost it while installing sprinkler piping in their yard. I let her know that I would be able to a search for them, but she said she would let me know if they needed my services. That was on a Monday, and on Friday she contacted me again letting me know they would like me to give it a try, so we agreed on a day and time to meet at their house.

When I got there Britt and her husband Chris met me, and Chris showed me the area he believed the ring was possibly lost. I began on one side of the yard hearing a lot of iron, and a few squeaks that were possibly good, but after exploring, no ring. As I continued my search Chris was helping dig each signal, which after not finding the ring each time might have been a bit disheartening. It wasn’t until we got to the end of the pipe that a good signal came through the head phones, and Chris dug. As soon as he pulled the clod out of the spot, I saw his ring, and reached in to get it for him. Both he and Britt were very excited. It was then that I learned they had purchased a detector, and had already done a search themselves which caused a lot of frustration with all the iron in the ground. It was a real pleasure to have been able to help them with this recovery.

I received a call from Armen in the afternoon asking for help in finding a lost wedding ring. His wife had been brushing sand off of her clothes, when her ring flew off of her finger, and disappeared into the soft beach sand. It had just happened, so I let them know I was on my way in order to have the best possibility of a recovery.

When I got to the beach Armen met me, and took me out to the area of the loss. I could see they had searched a good 20 x 20 foot area of the sand, but to no avail. I began my search in one direction to cover the small area they searched earlier, and found a quarter, and a dime, but no ring. Then focused on the larger area beginning to the side of where his wife had been standing, and got that strong signal in my head phones, scooped, and there in the bottom of the scoop was a beautiful gold and diamond ring which I held up for them. They were so happy to see it again, wondering why it was so hard for them to find. Sometimes it takes the right equipment along with the experience in using it to have a successful recovery. They slept well that night I am sure.

Karen emailed me earlier in the week to see if I would be able to search for a lost tungsten ring. Her fiance lost it while doing yard work a few weeks ago. I asked the usual questions, where? When? How? Any buried items? And so on…

We made arrangements for me to search Thursday after work. Of course, Mother Nature would play games and threaten with a Severe Weather Warning that afternoon. John was waiting for me. He showed me the 2 main areas of concern. He was working on removing a railing from the porch and then he was washing cars. My heart sank a little when he said while working on the porch he was throwing items into a large metal dumpster. It was pretty full with a lot of hazards. If John has my luck his ring is in the bottom of the dumpster. John also told me that the yard was cut at least once. 

I started my search around the porch. John asked if he could watch. He wanted to know about my detector, a Minelab Equinox, and I showed him how my pinpointer also worked. There were a lot of signals, most of them 2+ inches deep. I didn’t bother looking at those, as I was trying to beat the storms. 

After about 15 minutes I got a good tone, started to spread the zoysia grass apart and there was a nice looking black & gold ring. I pulled out my phone to take a picture & John was right there. He called me a “lifesaver” no pun intended. He was very happy! As we are both fully COVID vaccinated he gave me a big handshake. He said he would spread the word about my service.

Gold wedding band found quickly in garden

Received a text that Logan had lost his wedding band while preparing his garden for the season. He lost it a few weeks before finding the The ringfinder service online. He told me he was delaying anymore work on the garden until I could search for his ring. We had to wait another week before our schedules aligned to search. He showed me the general area he lost it while throwing rocks from the garden. While he went to the house to get something, I began searching and found the ring in under five minutes. As he came back outside, I was approaching the house and handed him his ring. He was so excited that he found theringfinders.com and that I could return his ring. He is now completing his garden for the season.

Lost Gold Ring Found In Novi Michigan

He Was Just Served…….

….and as the ball crossed over the net, Karthik jumped into the air spiking the ball back across and into the ground.

As the teams went back and forth rhythmically rotating players in order, the game ended with disorder on the court when Karthik noticed his ring was missing. A few people helped to search in the dark but no luck. Upon arriving this morning Karthik and I discussed details as a light rain was coming down. Deciding to search the sand in the direction of the spike revealed nothing. Rethinking, I started to scan a grid pattern in the grass area. After a few minutes my MXT metal detector gave me a good signal and just below the grass and quite a distance from the volleyball court this very nice gold ring with a silver band revealed itself! Even tho his team lost, he now holds the record for the longest distance a ring has been spiked!

Gold men’s wedding band lost in the grass at Boynton Beach, Florida Found and returned to owner.

I met my customer . he said that he was waving his hand to one of his friends and his ring flew off. he was saying that it flew about 20 feet. but after searching for a while there I asked more questions. I found that it must not have gone that far. so I reexamined the area closer. I   was only getting a target that sounded like a penny.  but guess what after checking the target out .. it was his ring. he was very happy. and left me this beautiful testimonial.

Lost Brass Ganesha Medallion at Ala Moana Beach Park…FOUND!!!

This hunt began late last night when I received a call from Lance who resides in Arlington, Virginia and was visiting friends on Oahu. While playing volleyball on the beach, Lance noticed his Brass Ganesha Medallion had fallen off but he wasn’t exactly sure when during the volleyball game it happened. Luckily he played in the same general area so the search grid was only about 5 yards by 10 yards in size. I wasn’t quite sure what numbers brass would ring up on the Nox but I figured this area of the beach is fairly clean so we dig it all. First target was an 8 but it was so small the target kept going through the netting of my scoop. Oh well! Not what I’m looking for. Next target was a 20-21 which is usually a Zincoln Cent but to my surprise there was Lance’s Brass Ganesha Medallion in the scoop. Elapsed search time 2 minutes. Another quick successful hunt. Lance by the way is a rapper and his newly released song is hitting the airwaves now. I’m a rock-n-roller so I wasn’t very enthused. But the song did have a catchy beat I’m sure the younger generation will crave for more. Aloha to Lance the Rapper!

Lost White Gold Wedding Ring at Naia Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This Ring Find began as my detecting buddy Terry & I were wrapping up our day hunting for a lost white gold wedding band in Naia Lagoon. We found a total of 4 Gold Rings but none were the one we were looking for. As I was heading to the shower a Gentleman and his wife asked if we found anything. I showed them my carabiner with the four Gold Rings attached. They both immediately said, “That’s my husband’s/my ring” as they pointed at the White Gold Ring my buddy Terry had found 4 hours earlier that morning in the lagoon. He said he could prove it as he had a picture on his phone with that ring on his finger. Sure enough he did and to be sure I asked him where in the lagoon he lost it and he pointed to the exact spot. There was no doubt in my mind it was his. As I looked towards the lagoon where he pointed there was my fellow ring finder Don exiting the water with his assistant that I don’t know. Don asked, “Did you find the ring?” and I held it up for him to see. Don had done a 5 hour hunt for the ring previously but the tide was super high and he wasn’t able to get to the spot without scuba gear. Terry found the ring at a super low tide in neck deep water. Don & I have collaborated on hunts in the past we were both just thrilled that the ring was back on the husband’s finger. We had a few laughs together and then I was asked to hunt for a just dropped Gold Cross you can see in the previous blog. I think it’s going to be a busy detecting Summer. Aloha to all involved and of course the happy couple who had their ring returned.

 *** Dan and his wife live 60 miles from Dana Point, CA. Their favorite get a way place is Salt Creek Beach which is an Orange County, CA. Beach Park. 

He called me asking for help to find his wife’s wedding ring. Most likely lost in the sand. He described it as a small size 3-1/2 white gold ring with small diamonds half way around the ring. 

He said he could drive to the beach later that afternoon. I was ready to get on the road to begin the search a couple hours before he could meet me. We agreed that I could start the search earlier using a marked up Google map screen shot. At the beach, timing is number one priority. It’s also very important that someone can guide me to the general location. Most the time when people leave the area of the loss, it’s confusing to find the exact area. 

As it worked out I had another call to take care of and I was still able to meet Dan at Salt Creek Beach later that afternoon. The beach goers we’re clearing out which makes it easier to properly grid search thoroughly. He showed me approximately where they had been. I started at the north end, working south. After an hour I was nearing the end of the site he gave me. He then said it could have been more to the south. That was a good move because I got a small white gold ring signal after three more passes. Amazing to see such a small ring in my scoop. These type rings can be missed by many detectors especially in the sand.

Dan was about losing hope but I got to see his big smile and excitement when he picked the ring out of the scoop. A great day at the beach.
