Old Lyme , CT Platinum Diamond Ring July 2025

  • from Old Saybrook (Connecticut, United States)

Old Lyme CT, July 27. What started as a Christmas in July celebration at the beach with over 150 guest became a frantic search for a lost platinum diamond ring. Kristina the coordinator of the event was playing with the children handing out gifts and dancing with them under a huge tent. Line dancing around all the tables and tlo the gift distribution area. After stopping at her table she noted that two of her three rings were almost falling off her finger and the large diamond ring was missing. In a frantic search the crowd started searching the area kicking sand , kids digging into the sand and even a child’s detector was employed. Quick action by Alison reached out to me from social media and gave me the situation. In about 30 minutes I was onsite and assessing the situation. The area was trampled and it became clear there was no clear idea of where it could have been lost. I started but using a standard coil covering and gridding the area closest to where she noticed it had been missing. The tables and chairs were moved when possible to allow better access and everyone was supportive. I started by giving Kristina who said she was catholic and seeking help a St Anthony medal to pray for her lost items and many of the guests started doing the same. At one pint everyone left the area to go to sleep and I remained but changed my strategy and used a smaller sniper coil to better get between the tables. After about a half hour a weak but repeatedly signal in the range of  platinum was identified. The soft sand was pinpointed and at a depth of 6-7 inches a solid ping was detected, sifting the sand with my fingers I felt the band of the ring and a glitter of platinum ion the sand and brought it to the surface.  Some passing relatives contacted her and she jumped into a golf cart and came straight to the tent where her ring awaited her. We had several precious and emotional minutes where she came to terms it had been found and that her and the other peoples prayers to St Anthony were heard. A miracle had just been witnessed.

Cole was enjoying a day at the beach with friends in Sea Isle City, NJ. As he was running, his cross and chain came off. He managed to grab the chain, but the cross vanished into the sand. Despite searching, he couldn’t locate it, so he gave me a call. I spoke to Cole, getting a sense of the general area he’d been in, and began the search with my metal detector. Shortly after, I found and returned the cross to Cole! He was overjoyed and able to continue on his day in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.

Gold Wedding Band Lost During Emerald Isle Beach Trip Found Off Beach

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

David gave Crystal Coast Ring Finders a call just before dark.  He stated he went to the beach and upon returning to his home, noticed his wedding band, he never removes, was gone.  David asked if I wanted to search the following day and I asked if he was near a public access on the beach.  I was worried with the popularity of metal detecting, someone would find the ring before morning.  David said yes it was near a public place so I said I would get there as soon as possible.

Upon arrival, I picked up David and we rode closer to the beach access.  David showed me where he parked his golf cart then grabbed a chair and a cooler and headed to the beach. I noticed there were about 5 vehicles parked.  We arrived at the place where he was sitting and a small group was nearby for a sea turtle hatch about to happen.  Fortunately, David was sitting far enough away I was able to search all around where he was sitting.  Nothing but trash was found during the beach search and I also searched the sand up to the steps leading to the street.  After a very thorough search, we returned to the parking area where it was now very dark and a vehicle was now in the area David’s golf cart was earlier that day.  I turned my headlamp on high beam and started to search around the vehicle.  I was looking for the bright reflection of the light beam on David’s ring.  Finally moving the back of the vehicle, and close to David, I spotted his ring laying in the street edge.  David was very relieved after snatching it up from the road.

I told him earlier, “I hate when I can’t find it!”.

I was in the backyard for less than an hour and returned the ring happily to the husband. All smiles 😃

Bluff Point State Park Groton CT Men’s Wedding band returned 2025

  • from Old Saybrook (Connecticut, United States)

July 5, 2025 Lauren and her husband wanted to go to Bluff Point state park on the fourth of July to watch the fireworks display. They decided to go for a swim and Lauren felt her wedding rings getting loose from the cold water and decided to go back to shore to leave them on the blanket. her husband took his ring off at the same time and while handing it to her it dropped into the ocean at about chest level. Lauren quickly searched for best options and considered buying a detector but realized that an underwater detector would be very expensive and being an engineer knew that there would be a learning curve. She then started internet searches for what to do about lost rings and that led her to theringfinders, com she called the two people listed and when I answered she entrusted me with coming to look for it and I was there within a half hour. I knew the tide was an important factor and raced to be there before it changed. I did not realize it was going to be a three-mile walk to get to the secluded beach spot. But she had marked the location beautifully with a driftwood log. When we arrived, there was a family sitting there and we asked if e could share the spot as a base for the recovery. Lauren described the circumstances from the previous night and I jumped into the water and began the search. Within minutes I had a sweet signal and lifted my first scoop. The signal was still strong and in the hole. A second scoop and the signal disappeared, and I knew it was in my scoop. I walked to shore and dumped the scoop and then used my trusty pin pointer to isolate the ring. I called her over and had her lift the ring from the sand and then the tears of joy started to flow with an exclamation “I can’t believe it!!” The nearby family joined in the celebration and were shocked. We then took some pictures and made a video reenactment to share with her family. I thought it was so nice that Lauren had also packed us sandwiches for a treat. She called her husband at work and shared the good news and was still in stunned and in awe that we found it so quickly. Funny thing she said she was going to bring a kitchen colander and start scooping the sand if I had not been able to come and find it. That may have taken quite a while, so she was happy that I had agreed to come so quickly. She had been told by others that it was probably a lost cause, so this made her that much happier with my finding it. Our prayers to Saint Anthony were answered glory to God.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost While Cutting Yard-Found

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

Kevin had contacted me and said he had lost his wedding band in the yard while cutting the grass. They had looked for it for a couple of days but the weeds in that area were quite tall and finding a ring visually was out of the question. I found the ring in an area where the weeds were around eight inches tall. Total search time was around an hour.

Gold Wedding Band Lost Right After Wedding-Found!

  • from Chattanooga (Tennessee, United States)

Linsey called me and said they had held a wedding venue in their yard for their daughter and son-in-law. Her yard was quite large and her son-in-law had lost his ring right after the wedding. She had purchased a metal detector but struck out.  Because of the size of the yard I set up a grid search and it took me all of two hours before I found it. Her daughter and son-in-law were out of town at the time.
