Salty Brine State beach, Narragansett , Rhode Island ,2 diamond gold wedding and engagement rings, returned 2025

  • from Old Saybrook (Connecticut, United States)

July 4, 2025, Ambar a lifelong Rhode Islander never takes her jewelry off at the beach. While playing football with her sons at the water’s edge got hit by a wave that washed her diamond gold wedding and engagement rings off her fingers and disappeared into the ocean. she reached out to a friend of mine Gary who is a local ring finder but was on vacation and he recommended me. We often work as a team and cover and help each other as needed. She called me that night and I was there at 6am before the holiday beach crowds started arriving at the beach. She met me there with her brother-in-law and we walked to the spot on the beach where they had been playing. Considering there was a pretty bad storm that suddenly passed through the area over night I started a gridded search of the area and immediately got a great signal at the water’s edge just as the tide was coming in. I scooped up the target and brought it up to her and with the aid of my pin pointer I saw the glint of gold and diamonds in the sand and handed her the engagement ring. One found was a very good sign, I knew the other had to be close to the first one. The incoming tides and wave action was making things a bit more difficult. I was getting a lot of interference and false signals. After calibrating my machine, I got a weaker but still a solid target signal. I scooped up signal and laid it down next to her.  A few seconds later using the pin pointer a diamond wedding band was now popping out of the sand. It took only about ten minutes to get both rings back on her fingers. It actually took me an hour to get there but it was worth every minute to see how happy I made her feel.  Her brother-in-law was stunned and could not believe I was able to recover them. He then took my phone and started taking pictures of the happy occasion. As we were leaving, she excitedly was telling all the incoming beach goers waiting in long lines of our success. I called Gary to thank him for the referral and together as a team we brought the rings back home. Thanks to St Anthony and praise God we were successful. Miracles do happen and have faith and never give up hope. we see miracles every day.

Lost Ring – Gulf Shores, Al

I was working away on my seashell art when I got a call from Gary saying he lost his wedding ring at the beach. Well, actually his wife lost it after he gave it to her for “safe keeping” while he was digging in the sand. Hey, it happens ! Since I was tied up and my best detecting buddy and Ringfinders partner Cheryl was closer, I called her to see if she could take care of it. And boy, did she ever ! It took longer to turn on her machine and headphones than it did to find the ring ! Three whole swings of her detector and it was back on Gary’s finger. Awesome recovery !

Jamie inquired about my metal detecting service for a lost ring at the beach. She reached out on Thursday evening stating that it was lost the previous Sunday.

She sent me a google maps drawing and I asked her if she could reduce the search area because it was quite a large area. She sent me a new map after realizing it was probably lost while playing volleyball.

I was able to find the ring in about 15 minutes. Jamie and her partner drove a 1/2 hour to pick up the ring.

Kyle lost his ring while playing cornhole at the beach yesterday. Monette, a friend of Kyle’s wife posted on a Huntington Beach facebook page about the lost ring. I reached out to her and offered my services. Monette met me at the beach the next morning and gave me great info on where t  hey were sitting and playing cornhole.

I checked the area where the canopy was set up and the ring was not there, so I moved to the area where the cornhole game was and that’s where the ring was found.

Greg, a friend is showing Kyle’s ring and I am wearing the ring after I found it.

Platinum Wedding Ring found in Laguna Beach

Stephan contacted me about his lost ring at Laguna Beach Sunday afternoon. I immediately drove the 40 minutes to meet him and his wife at the beach. Apparently he gave his ring to his wife while he went for a swim. The ring was loose on her finger and eventually slipped off and fell into the sand.

They showed me the spot where they were sitting and I went to work. I had a total of two targets, the first was a dime and the second was his Platinum Ring. As soon as I showed them the ring they both ran up to me and hugged me stating it was a miracle, they were both so happy!

Lost Wedding Ring Recovered at Honeymoon Island

  • from Tampa (Florida, United States)

Ring recovered on May 21, 2024. This recovery was another that wouldn’t have been possible without the teamwork of ring finder Steve Thomas and another mutual friend, Scott Carlson who helped with my first recovery at Honeymoon Island.

Mitch lost his gold wedding ring while paddle-boarding between the jetties at Honeymoon Island. Mitch had seen it happen in slow motion. He changed hands on the paddle and his ring popped of his finger, dropped to the board and rolled off into the water. He helplessly watched it disappear into the water below.

Mitch had done something amazing – he dropped a pin on Google maps, which had nearly the exact location where he had dropped the ring into the water. He had contacted Steve Thomas, who was out of town at the time and was referred over to me and Scott for assistance.

Scott had spent a few hours looking for the ring in the late afternoon a day or two prior, but didn’t have luck in locating it. I followed up the next day, using that location as my guide. I got there as close to low tide as possible to get out as far as I could detect.

On may way out into the water, a group of children asked what I was doing with my equipment. I told them I was trying to find a ring somewhere in the water and they wished me luck.

I started zig-zagging the area I felt the ring was most likely to be and there were very few targets out that far. When I hit a loud signal, I couldn’t see the display on my detector as it was completely submerged under water, but I had a good feeling. It took 2-3 scoops and the ring appeared in my scoop!

On the way back to the beach, I showed the children the ring and they cheered for me for finding it! It was the first time I had a cheering section for one of my recoveries!

I got back in touch with Steve and Scott to let them know I located the ring. They passed along Mitch’s contact info and he promptly met me at the beach to receive his missing ring.

iPhone recovered in Huntington Beach by Surf City Ring Finder

I was contacted to find a lost iPhone in Huntington Beach, apparently Justin’s four year old son buried his phone in the sand during a nighttime bonfire adventure. Justin told me they had numerous people searching for a very long time with no luck.

He was worried about it throughout the night because he had just put a huge amount of work related material onto the phone.

I met him at 6am and he had put a hair tie on the fire ring they were using the night before. (Very important to mark the spot of your lost item) He then put down a kid size boogie board in the area he thought I should search.

After about 15 minutes of searching I found his iPhone and it was not far from where he asked me to search.

LOST GOLD & DIAMOND RING FOUND & RETURNED IN MALIBU.

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

Sam and Emily frantically called me last week to ask if I could help them find a gold ring with diamonds that Emily had lost in the sand at the beach in Malibu. I was about 70 miles away but I went home after work grabbed my detectors and hit the road. It took almost two hours to get through down town Los Angeles, and out to the west side then up to Malibu where it was already dark out, I met Sam on Pacific Coast Highway and headed down to the sand. When I spoke to Emily she explained that they were visiting from Florida, and would be leaving Southern California in a few days.

I gridded the sand at waters edge for about 10 minutes before getting a solid signal and there was Emily’s ring in my scoop. She was ecstatic to have her ring back on her hand. The long drive home wasn’t so bad after being able to help such a nice young couple.

Ken and Angela were visiting Seal Beach from Carson City Nevada when her rings somehow fell out of a bag and into the sand. They found me on Yelp and I was able to meet them in about 20 minutes.

I was able to find both rings in one scoop after only a few minutes. They were very appreciative that there was a service like The Ring Finders.
