The waves were 2-3 feet high. but I went into the water anyway to find their ring. but unfortunately the waves beat me the first day. I was rescheduling for Friday but they called Thursday wanting me to go out Thursday even though the waves were still high. I finally gave  in and agreed to make another attempt. I was not successful for about three hours . I was getting ready to give up. then at the last moment I got a target.. and it was their ring . I was so happy that I could help them find their ring. They now could completely relax and enjoy their honeymoon in peace.

I received a call of desperation from Paige. She had lost her car key in the sand at the beach, and was unable to find it. I let her know I would be there as soon as I could.

I got there and Paige and her friend were waiting, They walked me over to the area where the loss occurred, and showed me what had happened. I could see that they had searched extensively for the key, as there was a lot of sand moved. I began my search, and within a few minutes, I had her key in my scoop. I pulled it out to her surprise, and handed it to her. She was so happy to not have to call a locksmith to get her car home. It is great bringing this happiness to people!

Daniel called me about losing his ring the day before when he was playing in the water with his young child. He said they weren’t deep, but when he called the tide was at a similar height, so I recommended we wait a couple more hours in order to make sure we had enough sand exposed to search. He agreed, and we arranged a meet up later.

When I got there Dan found me and took me over to the area of the loss. There were some markers left over from the previous day to help him line up the spot where the ring came off. There was another gentleman there detecting who Daniel asked to see if he could find the ring, but he was unable to located it. Daniel’s brother in law had purchased an inexpensive detector that he also used unsuccessfully. He showed me where he thought the ring came off, I expanded the area a little, and began my search. I was on my first pass, when I was about to turn and make the second pass I received the signal I was expecting, Dug once, and there in the sand was a big silver ring. I looked around, and Daniel had slipped off the cool in the waves, He turned back to see me holding up his ring. He hurried over excited, not thinking I would have found it so fast. It really meant a lot to him, and it was great to see him so happy to have it back. These smiles make life a joy!

Daniel sent the following testimonial:

What can I possibly say except thank you to Steve for recovering my wedding ring. I lost it yesterday at the beach with my son and today had to go back and search for myself. Knowing the approximate area and searching for some time I took a break and said a few more prayers. I truly believe I was sent a thought to look online and search out someone who might be into finding missing items. Once I searched on yelp I came across some names but was directed to call Steve Smith. Praise God I did and my prayers were answered, he found it in record time! He is your #1 and only call and I’m grateful beyond words. Thank you Steve you’re talents are a blessing.
With gratitude,
Daniel

When Jackie called me it was already about 8:00 PM. She had been at the beach, and lost 3 diamond rings to the beach sand. I asked if she could wait, even though it might take a while for me to get there, telling her that if the rings were there I would find them. I needed her to be able to show me the area of the loss. She said they could, and would be there when I arrived. I was on my way.

I got to the beach, and access to the beach where Jackie and her family was closed, so she sent me a car to pick me up and take me to where they had been during the day. When I got there it was nice to see how everyone had waited for her. They took me out to where they believed the loss occurred, and I could see where they had searched quite a large area. I knew I needed to narrow down the search a bit, so I asked Jackie where she had been most of the time, and started just outside of that area, working my way in. Jackie stood where thought she had been, and remained there as I searched. I found a few of the normal trash metal that is usually on the beach, pass after pass, and then right in front of Jackie I got a real nice signal. I put the scoop in and out came her engagement ring, one down. I worked in that area a couple swings more, and scooped up another ring, two down. A couple more swings, and Jackie was holding all of the rings she lost. Needless to say she was very happy, and it was an end to a great day!

Lost ring at Ocean Beach dog beach found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Bryan just went down to the water to rinse sand off his hands. He returned to where has was camped in the dry sand and when he shook the remaining water off his hands his precious gold ring he got in Dubai flew off into the sand too. He sifted around with his fingers for a while without success. I got the call and told him I’d be right down. After battling the traffic to get there, I arrived just before sunset and walked out to  the search area where Bryan waved me over to where he was. He moved his blanket out of the way, 10 seconds and two swings later, I get a solid 17 signal on my Equinox just out of the area he had searched with his fingers. I asked if he would like to pick up his ring, or, would he like me to do it. I took one scoop and held it up for him to grab. He took a photo of it in the scoop, pulled it out, and put it back on his finger.  A happy Bryan can now head home. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

I received a call from Ashley about losing her diamond engagement ring in the sand at the beach. She and some friends had set up their beach tents and towels, she had removed her rings and set them on her towel. Not long after, the lifeguard told them they would have to move their belongings because they were in the area that was used for the emergency vehicles to drive through. During the move Ashley flipped her towel, and one of the rings landed in her bag, but he engagement ring was gone. I let her know I would be there as soon as possible.

When I met up with Ashley she showed me what had happened, and the complete area where the loss was possible. I began my search finding the usual trash metal that is normally found during a search. I went over the complete area, yet did not find the ring. There was the possibility that it was lost in the area where they had moved to, but they would not be able to move their belonging for a while because her friends had small infant children that needed to be kept from the sun, so I sat down and waited until they were leaving so I could search that area as well. Not being able to find the ring there, I decided to cross grid the area in case the ring was turned in a unique way making it hard for the detector to see it, and I expanded the search area. Ashley had to leave, but I told her I would continue the search until I had exhausted every possibility. I continued for another 25 minutes going out of the box when I got the slightest signal from what I believe was a parachuted ring (hanging with gem on top, and ring straight down). I dug, and saw the glimmer of the diamond, and knew Ashley would sleep well that night. I called her, and she came back to receive her ring again. A great and happy day!

Ashley sent the following testimonial:

Hi Steve,
I cannot thank you enough for finding my wedding ring today at the beach. I was so discouraged when I first lost it and then you showed up and were not going to stop until it was found! I appreciate the extra hours you stayed to look. It’s amazing there are such great people in the world. Thank you so much again! We need more people like you in the world.

Ashley

Ashley called me regarding a charm that had fallen from her daughter’s necklace into the sand at the beach. It had just happened, and they hadn’t left the area, so I knew the chances of a recovery were high. I let her know that I would be on my way.

When I got there, I found where Ashley and her family were sitting, and she showed me the area of the loss, it was a very small area. I began sweeping my coil over the spot, and received a good solid signal, put my scoop in, and nothing. I went over it again, put my scoop in, nothing. Then I asked Ashley if the charm would fall through the openings on my scoop, and she said it would. I then began hand sifting for the charm, but was unable to find it, although I knew it was there. We were able to borrow a nearby child’s sand sifter, and in one scoop, had the charm safely recovered. Sand is very hard to find lost jewelry in because it almost acts as a fluid, moving the item around as you look for it. Even though it was hard to retrieve this charm, with my equipment we knew where to look, and were finally successful. Happy mom, and daughter, this was a great recovery.

Ring Lost in Kitchen found in Jenks’ Oklahoma

I received a message from Michelle about her moms lost wedding ring…I messaged her back and asked what had happened. She told me her mom was doing something in the kitchen. I said ok it couldn’t have gone far. I asked her her mom Eleanor what had happened. I said I will find it. So the search begins by looking thru all the cabinets around the kitchen. I even asked her if I could search the scooter she rides on. Went thru the scooter and no ring. So I looked in the sink everywhere I could. So on to the base boards that weren’t all the way up to the cabinet. There was a one inch gap between the base board and the cabinet. I couldn’t see over the top so I asked Michelle if she had a hammer. She said yes and went to get it. I got the trim off and then she said keep going we want the ring. So I started on the base board part of it broke she said once again take it all out. Second base board I came to was in the corner not more than five inches wide. I broke it off pulled it back and guess what I had found for them. The ring was waiting to be found. (The ring bounced over the the one inch gap behind the baseboard were they couldn’t find it.) I pulled it out still on my knees held the ring up and said. Does it look like this the smiles were back on Eleanor’s and Michelle’s face. Thank you so much found finding my information.

Wedding Ring Lost On Surf City Beach Was Found In A Few Hours

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

SURF CITY, NORTH CAROLINA

Newlywed Carrie was spending the last part of a vacation with her in-laws in a Surf City beach house.  She had given her rings to her new mother-in-law before swimming.  The rings were placed in a rear pocket.  It is believed wedding band slipped out of the pocket when a phone was pulled out for pictures.  Emerald Isle Metal Detecting was called that same day.  When I arrived, I was very glad they called me quickly and knew the general area the ring most likely would have been lost.  My metal detector, a Minelab CTX-3030 locked in on a strong 12-12 signal display and I was able to gently raise her ring from the soft sand of the beach.  Her husbands first words were “That’s amazing!”

Bryan was out giving a bath to his 175 pound Great Dane, when after he was completed, he noticed his custom made wedding ring was missing. He had looked down on hands and knees, but was unable to find it. We arranged a time for me to come out and search for the ring, and I was on my way.

I got to Bryan’s house, and he showed me the area of the loss. It wasn’t very big, but had grass with a decent thatch which could hide a ring easily. I set up, and began my search taking about 3 or 4 swings, when I received a great signal, got out the pin pointer, and began to move the grass around. there in the grass was Bryan’s ring which was customized with mountain scenes from the Sierra Nevada where he proposed to his wife. He was shocked to see how fast the recovery was made, because he had diligently looked over that area earlier. The color of his ring, along with the color of the grass, and dirt made the ring very difficult to see. The metal detector allows us to see differently, and succeed in our searches. So happy to have helped him!
