Lost White Gold Ring Found In The Snow In Birmingham Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Picture PAWfect!

Got a call from Mike last night who said his ring came off while grooming his dog.

They did a brief paw patrol but to no avail.

When I got on site today I learned that he had a grooming glove on and while removing it to flick the hair off, his ring flew off into the snow. I set up my MXT and started to grid search as he wasn’t quite sure which direction he thought it could be. Watching from behind the paw and wet nose smeared patio glass entrance was the dog with tail wagging excitedly wanting to join us. Scanning over the snow about 20′ from where he was I got a good, solid signal in a 4″ deep pile of snow over concrete. Using my pinpointer I probed into the pile and while scanning back and forth I felt the pinpointer make contact with an object. Brushing the snow aside revealed this very nice white gold ring shining back at me in the sunlight! I said hey Mike come take a look here and looking down on the snow, reaching down he scooped it up with excitement and was quite thrilled that it hadn’t flown further. Releasing the hound we watched as he excitedly zig zagged around us and the only way to calm him down was to pose for some puptacular pics!

Lost Family Heirloom Earring…Found 3 Days Later in Arnold, Maryland Parking Lot

Katheryne’s Sentimental Family Heirloom Earring Shining Brightly Once Again!

Katheryne’s Smile Tells the Story’s Happy Ending Perfectly as She Holds the Special Earring in Her Hands!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received an email from a young lady named Katheryne who was deeply upset about a lost earring that was extremely sentimental to her, as well as for her mother. She found my information online just by complete coincidence while she was looking to see if anyone had reported finding her lost piece of jewelry. Katheryne read my profile and numerous successful item recovery stories on the highly popular and elite metal detecting service directory’s website called THE RING FINDERS. Since nothing turned up, she thought to give me a shot at finding the earring. Katheryne figured, ‘What was there to lose by trying him out?’

The recent high school graduate shared with me on the phone the background story connected with the priceless possession that disappeared and the theory of how the earring apparently got lost. Over 20 years ago, Katheryne’s aunt who lived in the Phillipines, gave a pair of 14 karat yellow gold hoop earrings to her sister (Katheryne’s mother) just prior to immigrating to the United States when they were very young. Then, sometime recently, the earrings were gifted to Katheryne which simply meant the world to her.

The young lady let her good friend Kim borrow the set of earrings when they went out with their families to celebrate their high school graduation and allowed for their parents to take some memorable posed photos at a few sites. From Katheryne’s house (where they did their hair, makeup and jewelry), the two families boarded her parent’s minivan and headed to their first photo shoot location – a grassy hill with a beautiful golf course in the background.

Once they all arrived at the first site (which was behind an apartment complex), the families got out of the vehicle, walked from the parking lot onto the grass which led between a couple of the public housing buildings and proceeded to take their celebratory memories on camera. Almost immediately afterwards, everyone returned to the van and headed for the next photo location.

Later that evening, after taking the pictures and partying the day away, Kim proceeded to take the earrings off to return them to her friend when they arrived back at Katheryne’s place. That was the moment when she noticed that one of the earrings was missing off of her ear.

Katheryne was disappointed and upset knowing how much this piece of jewelry meant to her and to the family. The house was searched from top to bottom, and so was the minivan that they were all in when they went to the various sites. Subsequently, Katheryne and Kim returned to each place where they traveled earlier, searched the parking lots, the lawns and everywhere else they stopped to celebrate the two graduate’s accomplishments. Sadly, nothing turned up. They weren’t sure where the earring may have gone missing. The only conclusion that Katheryne was able to come to was that the earring was either picked up by someone at that point or it could have ended up at any of the places they were at during the course of their day’s festivities.

Obviously the young lady’s mom was sad that the family heirloom was seemingly gone forever. Nobody really thought that there was a chance of recovering the earring at that point after looking for so long. However, Katheryne was determined to do all that she could to try to recover this priceless keepsake!

At the time of our initial phone call, I was with a client in Annandale, Virginia. After I wrapped things up at that particular location, Katheryne and I covered every detail imaginable so that I could attempt to solve this mystery and help recover the earring for the young lady. I asked her every question in the book until I got a clear picture of what we were dealing with. One such question was: “Do you have access to all of the photos that were taken along the way (from start to finish) so that we could analyze Kim’s ear to see when she was wearing the earring and when it was no longer on her ear?”

Katheryne’s Fantastic Intel Provided to Me!

Katheryne immediately sent me all of the photos that were taken of her friend and ones that were taken together at the various sites. Once I finished analyzing them, I was actually able to determine that Kim lost the earring sometime between the time she was at her friend’s house getting ready and the time that the families were just about to take photos at the first location! The reason that I was able to deduct this was because the first set of photos did not show Kim wearing both earrings at that moment! The photos clearly showed Kim wearing only one earring! Katheryne was so grateful for that bit of information because that greatly helped to isolate the possible locations as to where the earring fell from Kim’s face!

When I concluded my pre-investigative reporting, I felt comfortable that there was a chance (as slight as it might have been), that the earring could be recoverable. It dropped either at Katheryne’s house, on her front lawn, on her street pavement, in the minivan, in the parking lot at the apartment complex where they first stopped, or on the grassy area just prior to when the first set of pictures were taken.

Within a minute of us wrapping up our talk, I was in my car heading 55 miles from Annandale, Virginia all the way to Arnold, Maryland (near Annapolis) to help Katheryne with this very difficult search. Because my young client had just left town with her folks to go on their annual vacation, I did not have Katheryne around to orient me as to where the two families traveled and walked around. However, she did an extraordinary job of acquiring Google maps and diagrammed the exact place where her vehicle was parked at the first photo session site. In addition to that, she provided me with the address to her house where I could metal detect her lawn, as well as search the driveway and street. That wasn’t all! She also set up a conference call with her friend Kim, and we were all able to connect by phone so that we could go through all of the details together just to make sure that Katheryne wasn’t missing any other pertinent details that would help my search efforts.

After driving an hour and 15 minutes, I finally arrived at the first search site located at the apartment complex where the grassy hill overlooked the golf course in the back of the buildings. Before I took any of my gear out, I did a visual search around the parking lot area where the minivan had been parked several days earlier. I was able to identify the exact parking space based on the excellent intel that was provided to me by Katheryne. Unfortunately, I was unable to effectively inspect the targeted parking space and the adjacent ones to the left and right of it, because there were cars parked all along that section. However, from what I could see, there was no earring lying on the pavement. I did find a couple of coins and miscellaneous aluminum items but no jewelry was discovered.

Once the visual search was complete, I returned to the car and retrieved all of the necessary metal detecting equipment that I needed to conduct my search all around the grassy areas. I started my grid lines closest to the sidewalk which was parallel with the parking lot. I made sure that all of the real estate between the two apartment buildings was carefully searched and nothing of importance was discovered on the surface of the ground. I had tons of signals, but nothing significant enough to lead me to believe that I was hitting the lost hoop earring. Once I finished that center section that led to the backyard where the hill was located, I checked the map and photos that Katheryne sent me and I got a bearing on exactly where the families walked next. Everything matched up perfectly, which allowed me to accurately detect the ground where the young ladies walked and stood just prior to the first photo shoot.

Not only did I grid search that entire section where the families walked around and positioned themselves for the photos, but I covered the entire hill and down towards the bottom of the decline. Katheryne remembered that the two girls walked just a bit down the hill, but not far from where the photographs were taken. I wanted to make sure that there was no possibility that I missed even a foot of grassy area. By the time I completed that large area which leveled out at the bottom of the hill where the golf course fence could be seen, it was completely dark outside and I had expended three hours of search time at that point. I was 100% confident that the earring was not on the lawn anywhere between the two apartment buildings, as well as all of the ground area stretching to the back yard area that I had just finished searching. I resolved that my next step was to drive over to Katheryne’s house and metal detect her front lawn which Kim had walked across leading to the street where the minivan was parked.

Katheryne’s Keepsake Earring Still Lying Right Where it Was Several Days Earlier!

During the entire grid search, I gave updates to Katheryne and occasionally I called her to ask a question or two just to make sure that I covered every square inch of that grassy area. Once I gave my client the discouraging news report (which was that I finished searching the apartment complex property lawn and came up empty handed), I headed for the parking lot to load my gear up and then drive to Katheryne’s place. Just as I got to the foot of the parking lot pavement, I purposely decided to walk between two cars that were situated exactly where the minivan had been parked several days prior. I figured that I would look down at the pavement with my high lumen headlamp as I walked to my car, keeping my eyes focused down below just in case I had missed spotting the earring earlier when other cars were parked in those same spaces. I didn’t think much about it other than processing a quick thought that anything was possible (from personal past experiences), and that just maybe…yes, just maybe a miracle might take place. Well, to my greatest amazement, as my eyes were focused down on the black top, I locked in on a small yellow, gold colored circular object that appeared to be a piece of jewelry lying underneath the vehicle that was parked in the same space where the minivan had been parked three days prior. It was maybe resting 6 inches inside of the parking space’s white line under the car. My initial thought was that this particular find had to be too good to be true! Yet, I remained hopeful as I knelt down on the blacktop to carefully inspect what I had detected with my eyes. As I picked up the object, immediately I noticed that the item was in fact a 14 karat yellow gold hoop earring with the clasp still open! Yes, believe or not, I had found the lost family heirloom earring that belonged to Katheryne! I could not believe it myself! I actually found the earring and it had been on the parking lot pavement all that time! Nobody had discovered it throughout these past few days! None of the residents that came out to their cars or those driving into the space or adjacent spaces identified the earring, as well! Nor did Katheryne and the two families spot the priceless piece of jewelry when they returned to photo shoot location #1 looking for the missing item! It is stories like this one that perfectly illustrates why it’s so important to call a professional item recovery specialist from THE RING FINDER’S directory! We are not “your father’s metal detectorist”! Not at all! We are much better than that! We look outside the box and obsess over searching every possible place where we might find that which has been lost by our clients!

The moment that I discovered Katheryne’s lost earring, I made a call to her girlfriend Kim and let her know the amazing news! She was beyond excited at what I recovered out there in the parking lot! I told her that I wanted to surprise Katheryne with my discovery and yet I knew that we could not wait for her to return from her two week vacation. Therefore, we decided that I would drive over to Kim’s place and she would call Katheryne on her phone so we could get a video chat going. That’s when I would break the news of this marvelous recovery with Katheryne! I don’t recall if we were able to make the video conference call work successfully or not, but we definitely connected with her audibly. Katheryne could not believe what she heard when I surprised her with the good news! She was totally taken back when she learned that I had successfully recovered the 14 karat gold earring which had meant so much to her and her family! Kim also felt a huge sigh of relief because she felt so bad that the earring fell out of her ear during their time of celebration. It meant so much to me to hear both of them express their extreme gratitude regarding what I was able to accomplish for them!

I left Kim’s driveway with such a wonderful feeling inside, knowing that I immediately responded to Katheryne’s request for help and that I successfully deducted the sequence of events as to where I should begin the search. As a result, I found what Katheryne and Kim were so desperately looking for! I love what I do and I really enjoy the people that I do these searches for! Moments like these truly never get old! During the entire 60 mile drive home, I wore the happiest smile upon my face! And truly…and that countenance has not diminished a bit in the least each and every time I recall this most fantastic story!

Katheryne’s Testimonial:

“Brian, thank you so much for all of your help! My mother was extremely happy when I told her this morning that you found the earring, and I am so relieved that it is safe! Thank you so much, I truly appreciate your service! Thank you so much for the safe return of a family heirloom! When it was discovered that I had lost my mother’s gold hoop earring during graduation pictures, I was, needless to say, quite panicked. I knew that searching all of the grassy sites would be pointless, and was beginning to lose hope. I felt extraordinarily guilty when she told me that it was a precious gift from her sister in her youth. Sentimentally, those earrings were priceless to her. I knew I had to get it back, but didn’t know how. I mulled over my options, but none seemed plausible. Searching on foot proved fruitless. But then I found you – “The Ring Returner” after reading about you on the THE RING FINDER’S website! You were very proactive and had excellent timing. You went to the search for the earring the day I called you! You were meticulous and detailed in your search, as well as being extremely thorough and communicative and eventually…you found it! My mother was extremely joyful at its return, and now all is well…thanks to you! I am extremely grateful for someone who does an act so kind for complete strangers, and one can be sure to trust Brian for the safe return of their valuables. Thank you Brian so much!”

Lost Gold Wedding Band Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from fellow ring finder Dave Sheldon on Maui. Dave said a couple just lost the husband’s yellow gold wedding band in shallow water at Hilton Hawaiian Village beach and he referred them to me. A moment later I got a call from George who was on vacation from California. While tossing a football to his son in the water he realized his wedding band had come off. They had been playing awhile and he wasn’t sure when it had come off. I told George I’d grab my gear and be there in about 15 minutes. When I arrived George had me search around their lounge chairs as he wasn’t sure exactly when the ring came off. No luck there! I had George create an East & West line in the sand to create the grid. Thankfully the tide was coming down and they hadn’t gotten deeper than his chest. I started my grid search on the West end and worked East. Thankfully their weren’t many targets so I was able to cover the grid rather quickly. When I was a little bit past half way I got a nice tone on the Nox right at the waters edge and in one scoop their was George’s huge Gold Wedding band in my scoop. George ran down to retrieve his ring and he had a look of disbelief since the ring was right on the shoreline in inches of water when he thought it probably came off while throwing the football. Ring finders know the location of the ring is only known when it is found. George and his family were so thankful and that’s what makes this hobby so fun. Aloha to George!

Platinum Wedding Band Lost in Fort Washington, Maryland Backyard…Found by Member of The Ring Finders

Marc’s Handsome Platinum Wedding Band Shining Above the Ground Once Again After Brian Rudolph Recovered it!

Marc and Ashley Celebrating the Return of the Groom’s Beloved Platinum Wedding Band!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

In the very early morning hour of 4:30am, I received an email from a young lady named Ashley. She was greatly disturbed about her husband’s wedding band that ended up being lost in their large backyard earlier that very rainy evening.

Here’s what she stated in her email to me:

“Dear Mr. Rudolph,
I am really desperate to find my husband’s wedding ring lost due to my own stupidity in our back garden in Fort Washington, MD – just south of National Harbor. My heart is broken… I don’t know if you are available for service today, Monday, but I would be so very grateful if you could call me to let me know. I understand that the stay at home order may affect things, but we have a single family house and I am afraid if we wait too long, an animal or eagle may see the ring and decide to keep it.  I will go out at first light and keep looking, but I am praying you can be our hope, since it seems you have helped so many people. I also hope that you are safe and well.

Many many thanks,  Ashley”

I immediately called Ashley upon reading her “call for help”. After I spent a long period of time on the phone gathering up facts and details as to how the ring disappeared, I scheduled an immediate visit to Ashley’s home.

I arrived at the most beautiful estate sometime in the early afternoon. There was forest, gardens and breathtaking wildlife surrounding Ashley and Marc’s neighborhood from every side. The sad woman who initially contacted me made her way over to my car and within minutes we were walking around to the back of the house to see where the ring had been lost.

Ashley looked everywhere for the handsome and very heavy platinum ring that ended up somewhere on the grounds of their estate. Marc’s wife specifically picked out the sentimental keepsake for her beloved husband years earlier prior to their day of matrimony. As she said in the email, she was heartbroken.

After reassuring the young lady that I would recover the band no matter how long it took, Ashley rested a bit easier within her and returned inside the house to resume her work. Meanwhile, I gathered up my detection equipment in the car and within ten minutes I started the search.

There was a lot of property to cover. Because the ring could have ended up just about anywhere in the backyard, I metal detected under the second floor deck, all around the basement’s sliding glass door that leads out to the backyard, searched multiple flower beds, the dog pen, all around the trees, as well as grid searched 35 yards of basic grassy lawn territory.

At some point, after a few hours of searching with my Minelab Equinox 800, the shaft of the detector snapped off of my 15 inch coil that I had been using (the disc at the bottom of the shaft). Ashley came out to check on how things were going and I explained what had just happened to my detector. It was just one of those freak things where you can’t explain how the fiberglass broke loose from the coil, causing the shaft to separate. This only caused the young lady to further worry as to whether or not Marc’s wedding band would ever be found now that my detector was broken. I reassured her that I had replacement equipment in the car just in case something like this should ever happen. Little did I know that I had innocently left my replacement coil back at my residence. Therefore, I switched to my secondary Equinox 800 machine (which had only a 6 inch sniper coil attached – used primarily for difficult trashy areas and very hard-to-get to places to detect).

Knowing that I would have to re-grid much of the area again (because I didn’t find the band on the first go-around), I recognized that it would be extremely difficult to use the little 6 inch disc across the very large property to find such a small priceless object. However, I wasn’t giving up the search on this first visit and nothing was going to stop me from trying to find Marc’s handsome platinum wedding band!

I continued to re-grid all of the previous territory that I had covered prior to my detector coil breaking loose. In addition, I took inventory on every little section of the property that just to make sure that I hadn’t missed any areas with my detector. Still, no ring was found.

Finally, in my fifth hour of my search efforts, as I made my way around the circular dog pen (which was located in the center of the lawn, perhaps 25 yards away from the house), I hit a fantastic signal as I was grid searching approximately 4 feet from the aluminum pen fence! The target tone hinted to me that the piece of metal could very well be a surface find. There was a certain “bounce” to the signal which only an experienced metal detectorist could appreciate hearing when searching for a lost ring! I knelt down to investigate what my detector coil picked up along the ground. Then, I pulled out my hand-held metal detector called a pinpointer and zeroed in on the target’s exact location. And there it was! The site was amazing to see! After five plus hours of searching, I finally recovered the very handsome and extremely heavy platinum wedding band that Ashley was so desperate to find! I was simply elated by what I discovered! Just as I was gripping the runaway ring from within the blades of grass below, Ashley was walking out of the sliding glass door entrance to see what I was focusing on! It was at that moment that she heard the great news! A tremendous wave of relief could be seen across Ashley’s countenance! The nightmare was over! All of her fears were swept away in an instant of time with what I happily displayed in my hand and the declaration of what I had just uncovered! It really was a special moment! Ashley could not stop thanking me over and over again!

I was beyond excited that I was able to pull the ring from the property and that Ashley did not have to wait another day to have her husband’s wedding band returned to his finger! We were both so overjoyed and I’m sure Marc was equally grateful, as well! Once I packed up all of my gear, Ashley thanked me once again for all of my efforts. I told her that I was thrilled that she reached out to me and that I could be a part of this very special happy ending! Marc’s wedding band would now be preserved for the rest of their lives and many special stories would continue be told as a result of what I was able to find on that particular Monday afternoon in Fort Washington, Maryland!

Lost & Found ring found in Oceanside CA with Metal Detector

  • from Arkansas City (Kansas, United States)

While hunting at the beach in Oceanside California, my metal detector picked up a solid signal in the wet sand. As I moved the sand away I was surprised to see a beautiful class ring with a blue gemstone. It didn’t take long to realize the class ring was loaded with information. School, Date, first date, and initials! I was excited to start the search to find the owner of this beautiful ring. As soon as I got home, I hopped onto facebook and started my search. Within 20 minutes I found a gentleman named Neil who graduated from the school shown on the ring, graduated on the date of the ring, and had the same initials! I sent him a message and his wife a message, hoping that I didn’t come across as a crazy person. Boy was he suprised! Sure enough I had found the owner to the ring! He couldn’t believe that I had located his ring that was lost 20 years ago in Oceanside CA. He shared that 20 years ago he was playing football at the beach with his buddies and threw a long ball. He felt the ring fly off his hand and it disappeared into the sand. He believed it was gone forever. With luck and changing sand conditions, I was lucky enough to return it Neil. Thrilled to return this ring to Neil and look forward to the next return.

Gold wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Manayunk, Philadelphia, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

I’m still laughing about it….Hopefully Taylor and Scott are too!

Taylor found me via the Ring Finders Directory after her husband, Scott, lost his large gold wedding band. They live in a row home in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia, PA. Apparently, Scott was horsing around with their dogs on the front porch when he felt(and heard) his ring slip off his finger and bounce into the front yard. Unfortunately, the sloping front yard is quite unruly with the presence of 2-foot deep ground Ivy vine. They had been searching for hours in the dark the night before and then again the next morning before they finally asked me to come with my detector. I showed up around lunchtime the next day(1/18/21). When I walked up to their front door I noticed the search area was going to be quite a challenge….it was quite overgrown and sweeping my detector was not going to be possible. Not to be deterred I made me way into the deep brush with the intent to poke in and out of the brush with my small search coil. I worked my way up through weeds to the top of the slope closest to porch and noticed that they had been hard at work cutting away and removing the first 2 feet of deep weeds. Scott and Taylor were on the porch looking down on me and talking me through the actions that lead to the loss.

Now keep in mind…I’ve been there 60 seconds and haven’t even turned on my detector…I look down in the middle of the small area that they had cleared that morning…and hey….that looks like a ring???? I bend down and ha!….it is a ring. A large, white gold wedding band. I pick it up and hold it out to Scott…who is clearly shocked? dumbfounded? amazed? embarrassed?

We laughed and laughed. Who knows how they could’ve missed it…I just told them how happy I was to be able to find for them. And then I told them it was their loss that they didn’t get to witness my mad detector skills!

So much fun to be a RingFinder!

How to Find a Lost Ring Thrown in a Yard…Bel Air, Maryland

Niesh’s Spectacular Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Sparkling Once Again!

Peter’s Decision to Contact THE RING FINDERS Ultimately Returns Smiles to the Couple’s Faces!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

If you want to find a lost ring that was thrown by you or a loved one during a time of stress, check out THE RING FINDERS website and contact a local RING FINDER metal detectorist in your area! That’s what Peter did and he got his wife’s engagement ring / wedding band back on her finger in nearly minutes!

I received a text from a very frustrated young man who spent a couple days searching with a metal detector for his wife’s lost engagement and wedding band (which were welded together) out in their backyard. Finally, when he gave up, Peter went online looking for additional help and eventually he came across THE RING FINDERS directory. He asked if I could be of assistance and I told Peter that I was more than excited to help him find Niesh’s missing ring.

Like many couples experience, Peter and Niesh had a heated moment between the two of them. At some point during the night of their conflict, Niesh took off her engagement ring / wedding band and placed it on her dresser. Out of anger, Peter took the sentimental 14 Karat White Gold, 3.5 Carat Diamond keepsake, opened the french doors to his rear deck located on the second floor of their house and chucked the beloved piece of jewelry as far as he could out onto the backyard lawn.

Over 50% of all of my ring searches have to do with rings that were lost due to a “throw” or “toss” during a couple’s argument. If you are reading this article and you had a similar situation, please do not feel condemnation for what took place. This is very common and there’s hope for you in recovering your lost ring, pendant or other keepsake. You must not waste time, emotions and physical energy…immediately call THE RING FINDERS to help you!

As I talked to Peter on the phone, I gathered all of the facts regarding the lost ring. Just like with an investigation, you have to ask all of the right questions before you can start to crack the case! We set up a time for me to come out the next morning to do my search. I assured the distraught young man that he would get his wife’s ring back to her and that he did not have to worry about a thing.

Early the next morning, around 6:30am, I started driving the hour and fifteen minute journey to the search site. I couldn’t wait to find the missing ring that Peter, his wife and several others could not recover from the backyard. People were walking all over the lawn searching for the jewel, and in addition to that, the metal detector that Peter acquired couldn’t do the job either in pulling the ring from the grass.

Once I arrived, my client took me to his backyard and shortly thereafter I started the hunt! Peter pointed out the approximate direction where he believed he saw the ring fly towards the ground. I explained to him that it is always helpful to get as much information as possible. However, because I find lost items in the complete opposite directions of where my clients thought their possessions had ended up, I leave all possibilities open on the table! I warned Peter not to worry if he saw me metal detecting in a totally unlikely area from where he thought he saw the ring fly. He agreed with a smile. All he wanted was to get his wife’s ring back and forget about what happened a couple days earlier.

My strategy entailed grid searching from the far left side of the property all the way to the right end of the estate. There was probably an acre of property back there, but I was only concerned with about 35 yards square to search. Rings can easily fly 100 ft or more depending on the circumstances so I had much territory to cover.

I finished the first grid line in about three or four minutes. Then, I returned back in the opposite direction to complete the second line. As I was completing the third line, my detector gave me the perfect target signal which lined up with the description of Peter’s wife’s ring. Because THE RING FINDERS’ detectorists (like myself) are experts in recovering rings, we know how to set up our detectors correctly and to discriminate out any unwanted signals. This was one signal that I was excited to receive in my headphones! Though the target was located on the far side of the lawn (opposite in the direction of where Peter believed he saw the band fly), I was almost certain that I had discovered Niesh’s ring. Before I even had a chance to kneel down to the ground to investigate the signal, my eyes had already locked on to the most beautiful and gorgeous looking piece of circular metal surrounded by diamonds everywhere! I found the missing ring! I couldn’t wait to break the news to Peter! He would finally be relieved of all of his worries and frustrations! That was the whole reason why he invited me into this important search to begin with! And I certainly delivered what he was looking for!

Moments later, I surprised Peter with the precious keepsake! He was certainly blown away by my successful efforts! The man could not believe that I had found the ring in less than 5 minutes of searching. Also, he was equally surprised that I found the band on the far opposite side of the lawn! He thought that it landed somewhere on the left side, but I found it much farther over to the right end of the lawn. This confirmed what I told him before regarding how I find things in the opposite directions of where people think their possessions had ended up!

Peter was wearing a face mask (due to the Covid-19 pandemic) so I couldn’t see his facial expressions when I surprised him with the ring. However, the way he excitedly moved about following the great news I shared, certainly showed me how he couldn’t believe that the nightmare was finally over! Now that I had found the very piece of jewelry that he presented to his wife when he asked her to marry her, and the same ring that he put on her finger on their wedding day, Peter could breathe easy again! He was so happy and extremely grateful for my recovery efforts!

As soon as I packed up my gear, I said goodbye to Peter and made my way down the road. The young man who was wise enough to call a professional ring finder, excitedly returned into his house with the ring that he so desperately sought after. He walked straight upstairs to the bedroom, woke up his sleeping wife, and with the warmest smile of love on his face, Peter presented his bride Niesh with the happiest surprise of her week! The young lady’s “other” special gem had finally returned home to her!

Wedding Band Lost for Over a Year…Found Buried in Neighbor’s Gainesville, Virginia Yard

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Scott’s Handsome Gold Wedding Band Showing Off Its Brilliance!

Proudly and Excitedly, Scott Holds His Most Priceless Keepsake!

BRIAN RUDOLPH, LOST ITEM RECOVERY SPECIALIST (LAND, WATER, SAND, HOUSES & VEHICLES) WILL FIND YOUR LOST KEEPSAKE! CALL ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I connected with a man named Scott who learned of THE RING FINDERS from an ad that I posted online. He asked me all kinds of questions about what kind of help I could offer him and I asked Scott tons of questions, as well.

A year or so earlier, Scott highly suspected that he lost his 14 karat yellow gold wedding band while helping his elderly neighbors who lived next door to him. He picked up a truck load of mulch for both he and his neighbor and he spent a full day lifting, carrying and spreading numerous bags of mulch throughout the two properties’ flower beds, bushes and surrounding trees. It was sometime at the end of the day that Scott noticed that his ring was missing off of his finger.

The good neighbor searched everywhere for the classic style wedding band. Sadly, all of his efforts could not lead Scott to his cherished wedding day keepsake. Over the next year, he would use metal detectors to search both lawns and still he was unable to recover the ring. It was at the moment when the defeated man saw my ad about the elite international metal detectorist directory that his hope finally began to rise like the sun again!

Scott and I went through all the details during our initial phone call conversation regarding the loss of his wedding band. The next evening I met up with him at his residence. I was excited to help solve this mystery and try to recover his beloved sentimental keepsake for him!

Even though Scott concluded that his ring must have gone missing during the time of the landscaping project, there was no concrete evidence that it was outside. Some stories end up concluding that the person returns into the house and they had washed their hands off and the ring slips off their finger at that moment. In this case, I would be blindly searching based on Scott’s hunch. Also, the mind will try to play tricks on you when you’re metal detecting for someone like this client because you constantly face doubts about one’s recollection of events that took place long ago. In addition to that, the gentleman had already used a metal detector in his attempts to locate the missing band. Though he’s not a professional detectorist, some will get lucky from time to time. That meant that the odds were less in our favor that I might recover the ring based on the number of previous recovery efforts made.

After Scott showed me all of the places where he walked to and from the truck and where he dumped the bags of mulch, I returned to the car to gather up my detecting equipment. I started the search on Scott’s property right where his truck backed up onto his lawn. It was pretty cold outside, yet my adrenalin had kicked in and I was ready for battle!

For approximately 45 minutes to an hour, I checked the front lawn, the flower beds, all around the trees and the side of the house that was adjacent to the neighbor’s property. I got target signals alright but when I dug up the objects that were just below the surface, all that I found were bottle caps, soda can pull tabs and random pieces of aluminum.

I detected every spot that was even a small possibility of where Scott’s ring could have ended up. When I finished the yard and areas near the sidewalk, it was time to take the search over to the neighbor’s property. My client had already been given permission for me to detect the next door neighbor’s front and side yards.

The first sections of the adjacent property that I conquered were the flowerbeds on either side of the neighbor’s front walkway. The mulch had been laid everywhere in these regions. Except for electrical interference from the house and some pieces of miscellaneous metal found just below the surface, there wasn’t anything more to boast about finding. Next, I moved back down the hill to a grassy strip of land that started at the street and led up the driveway. I concluded that that piece of land was also free of any buried jewelry. I slowly and methodically continued my grid search up the grassy knoll along side the driveway. My plan was to detect from the concrete to about 20 feet out into the lawn for the whole distance leading up to the front walkway. I thought that it made logical sense that the ring could have fallen off Scott’s finger as he carried bags of mulch up the hill and over to the flower beds near the front of his neighbor’s house.

Little by little I moved my way up the knoll. I got a number of decent signals which led me to lift up the earth in a few spots just to make sure that I didn’t miss the wedding band. However, nothing of interest was discovered. It was not until I was about halfway up the driveway, just inches from the concrete, that I got a very curious target signal. The object appeared to be buried perhaps 1.5 to 2 inches below the surface. It was showing up on my detector screen as a potential gold type object. I knelt down and proceeded to take a look at what my metal detector had located. Next, I took my handheld metal detector out (called a pinpointer), as well as my digging trowl and I centered in on where exactly the target was buried. Then, I cut below the surface to bring up that section of earth to investigate. At first, I was not seeing what my detectors were picking up. I used the pinpointer again to locate the piece of metal and then all of a sudden my eyes became fixated on a gold colored object that was just barely peaking through the earth that I had dug up! I looked closer and there it was! It was a gold wedding band! My heart lit up so brilliantly at my discovery! I could not have been more excited at that moment! This piece of jewelry had been buried for a good long while and it really made its way down below the earth quite a bit more than I would have expected! I find rings that are buried for one or more years and they sometimes don’t make their way down into the ground as this one ended up! It really depends on the type of earth that you are dealing with and the region that you are searching in. I was so happy! It was late, completely dark outside, cold as ice and the ring could have been anywhere (inside or outside)! And yet I end up finding the band on Scott’s neighbor’s property! I was looking down at the very spot where it had dropped over a year ago and it would now finally be returned to its proper owner’s finger! I couldn’t wait to break the news! My successful search was finally over!

Once I took a few photos of the ring which was left in the very position where I discovered it, I had the honor and privilege to reveal my find with Scott! It was definitely a moment to remember! He was beyond surprised and completely blown away by where I found it! With all of the searching that he had done over the past year (using metal detectors and giving it his all), he was so happy that he called a professional to get the job done! Finally, after all of this time, Scott slid the very handsome and extremely sentimental ring back on his finger! His wife was just as excited to learn that the ring that she had presented to Scott on their wedding day would not be lost forever, but that it was finally unearthed and returned home once again!

Lost Ring Found, Joshua TX

  • from Fort Worth (Texas, United States)

Brandon contacted me Sunday January 10, 2021 and said he had lost his white gold wedding band playing around in the rare snowfall we had. We agreed for me to come out Tuesday afternoon. I searched the back yard corner where his wife said he thought he lost it. She asked if  my detector could locate a gold ring. I replied, if it’s here I’ll find it. After about 5 minutes I located the ring. She wasn’t right there and she had a big smile when I looked up and showed it to her. I’m glad I was able to find your ring, and thank you for the reward!

Gold Wedding Ring Recovered – Raleigh

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

I got a call this afternoon from a distraught husband. He’d been out playing with his dog and “my ring just flew off my hand!” He said he had lost quite a bit of weight, so the ring was already loose on his finger — playing with the dog just provided the opportunity for it to come off. He knew exactly where he’d been standing and said he saw the ring fly off, heard it hit something, but then lost track of it. He had borrowed a friend’s metal detector to try and locate the ring, but had not had any luck figuring out the assorted beeps and buzzes from the detector, so we made arrangements to get together to find it.

The ring had been lost in a fenced-in kids’ playground area covered in wood mulch. Recreating the ring’s “flight path,” I started searching in a grid pattern, working my way further and further out. After maybe 20 minutes of searching and no ring, I started the search over again, back where he had been standing when it came off. It turns out that the ring had come off, hit a plastic barrier in front of him, and ricocheted back to land almost at his feet. Apparently in searching for it initially, he had pressed it down into the mulch as he walked around. Really glad to reunite the husband and his ring! Another Happy Ending!
