Ring Found! In an … Attic?

  • from Arkansas City (Kansas, United States)

I received a message from George in Wichita Kansas concerning a lost ring. He informed that he and his wife were working in the attic of their home. His wife had put the ring in her coat pocket and later that night realized it was missing.

I try to never say no to a hunt, even in an attic with blown insulation 🙂

George had painstakingly prepared the lighting, extra footing, and garbage bags to help with the search. Searching inside homes can be difficult due to the amount of metal, but with some luck and a pinpointer it was found in about 10 minutes. Great job George on not giving up on the ring and giving me call!

What a pleasure it was visiting with him and his wife, wonderful people.

Gold and Sapphire Ring Lost In Falmouth, Maine Found With A Metal Detector

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

On Sunday October 15, I finished up mowing our lawn and my neighbors. I checked my phone and I saw a message from Jordan. Jordan’s message said,
“Hi there. My mother lost a ring 2 days ago and she did a bunch of gardening and cut down a few trees. She lives in Falmouth. Would you be able to help us look for it”.
I immediately sent a message back to Jordan and told her yes I could and would she please call me. A few hours later Jordan called and we discussed the lost ring. Jordan then told me her parents , Bobbi and Dennis had also taken a few loads of the brush and garden items, to the dump. My heart sank a little, knowing that it was possible the ring very well could have ended up in the dump, 2 days ago. Jordan then gave me her father’s phone number and I immediately called him to set up a time to travel to Falmouth and search for his wife’s ring. A date was set for today, Tuesday October 17th.
I drove the approximately 25 miles to Bobbi and Dennis’s home this morning and they were both there to greet me as I parked in their driveway. After a few minutes of exchanging pleasantries, I ask Bobbi to go over the events of 4 days ago, which led to the ring going missing. She told me exactly what had been already explained and pointed out some of the areas she had been working. I asked her if she had been wearing gloves, while working and if the gloves had been checked. She had been wearing gloves and they had been checked. She did tell me that she had taken the gloves off several times while working on the property. Bobbi and Dennis also realized the ring very well could have ended up at the dump but were hoping that was not the case. A positive was that the lawn had not been mowed, since the ring went missing. This meant that it would not have been thrown somewhere or damaged by the mower.
Bobbi then took me to the garden to search 1st. It wasn’t a large garden and I completed the search in about 10 minutes. Nothing but a dime, nail and a small piece of foil. She then took me to an area where some of the shrubbery had been cut down. Still no ring. Then another area of cut down shrubbery and my detector wasn’t going to work over the cut down shrubbery so I took out my pinpointer and stuck it down and between what was left of the shrubbery. Still No luck with locating the ring. Bobbi then pointed to another area of cut down and removed shrubbery. Within a minute I received a signal that wasn’t repeating but I liked the sound of it. I looked down but saw nothing but shrubbery clippings, small twigs and leaves. I started pushing the debris aside, with my coil, still hearing a signal but still no target was visible. I pushed some more debris to the side and I saw a beautiful gold ring with a Blue Sapphire starring back at me. I reached down, picked it up, turned around and told Bobbi that the ring had been found. Bobbi looked stunned and was just so thankful to have it back. For a second, I believed her eyes swelled up a little and her smile was ear to ear. Seeing faces like Bobbi’s is exactly what drives me to help people out, when they need my Metal Detecting Services. This ring would never have been found with a visual search. Bobbi and her family had performed a couple visual searches of the area without finding it and I never would have seen it, without a metal detector.
After the fact, I learned that the Gold and Sapphire ring was a 45th Wedding Anniversary gift, to Bobbi, from her husband Dennis. Later that day, Dennis texted me and stated  the following,                             “Hi Dennis. I gave the ring to Bobbi as an anniversary present (#45 I think). I believe that it is a sapphire stone. We can’t thank you enough for getting the ring back to Bobbi. She’s thrilled! We will certainly follow you on Facebook. Thanks again”.                                                                                                    I just love being able to return extremely sentimental items back to the owners. It is a true blessing to be able to help people like Bobbi and Dennis out, whenever I can.

Pendant lost in Palm City found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Tyler was playing ball at his schools soccer/football field when his necklace was snagged, broken, and his gold pendant fell into the turf. A search ensued, but, it wasn’t found. His mom Michelle talked with the groundskeeper who claimed to have a metal detector and would help them. This delayed a search for 3 weeks while the groundskeeper looked for his detector without success. Michelle then found TheRingFinders.com online and contacted me for help. We met early the next morning at the school and they escorted me to the proper field and probably loss location. I expected lots of misc junk on this decades old school, but, the field was pleasantly free of it for the most part. I started with a large coil to try and cover the fairly large search area more quickly. I’d use a smaller coil if necessary as the pendant was smaller than a dime and was probably not going to give much of a signal. There had been dozens of games played on that field since the loss, so, the pendant might have been stepped on and pushed down into the turf a bit, or, it could have even been spotted and picked up by someone. We kept our hopes up however, and after a half hour or so and a few junk targets acting like small gold, I got an even lower target I.D, number of 8 on my Equinox 900 that I was doubtful of, but, I decided early on I would check every target that was close to what I guessed would be the number. It wasn’t right on top of the ground, but, after peeling back a small trap door plug, Tyler’s pendant was staring up at me. I called them over to let them see and retrieve it. A happy Tyler had his precious pendant, given to him by his father, back again. A pleasure meeting you and thank you for the reward.

You want me to look WHERE for your wife’s ring? Is this a joke?

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

I got a text from Pat on 10-12-2023 and he asked if I would respond to Calaveras County, CA, about an hour from where I live to help look for his wife’s wedding ring that she lost just last night. Pat had contacted another RingFinder before contactiung me, but that RingFinder was not available until the following day. It all worked out, because it had been my intent to go metal detecting on this day anyway. When I asked Pat if his wife, Renee, knew the area where she lost her wedding ring, he said it was either in their bedroom, or in a PIG PEN. Pat’s wife had been in and out of their sow’s birthing pen off and on all night, to make she the sow was alright during the birthing process. As an animal lover myself, I understood all of this. I told Pat I’d at his place in about an hour. He told me that Renee would be anxiously waiting for me.

Renee explained that her wedding ring was comprised not only of the diamonds from her original wedding ring that Pat got her, but also had diamonds from some pinky rings that had belonged to her now-deceased father. She also had sapphires mounted on the ring, which are Pat’s birthstone. When I saw pictures of the ring, my jaw dropped. This would be the most beautiful ring I had ever searched for, and I was determined to find it and re-unite it with Renee.

Since Renee said she had been grabbing fresh straw from two different locations near the birthing pen, I started searching those areas with my metal detector. I figured I’d let the momma pig and her two piglets rest. Then after about an hour of searching these other areas, it was time to crawl into the birthing pen, kind of like a big doghouse, to look for the ring. Momma pig was still exhausted, and the newborn piglets were too, so I just crawled in there with them. It was a little cramped to use my Equinox 800, even with the DetectEd carbon fiber shaft collapsed all the way, so out came the XP Mi-6 pinpointer. The first two dozen targets were found to be nails or screws used in the construction of the birthing pen, but then another squealing sound and vibration from the Mi-6, and there it was. The ring was found on top of the wood flooring, covered with about six to eight inches of compacted straw hay.

Now for the fun part. Before the search even started, Renee had asked me if I could run the metal detector her animals (dogs, pigs and chickens) in the event the animal had found the ring and swallowed the shiny object. I told her I could absolutely do that, but that would be done after I searched the pig pen and birthing area first. This request gave me the idea to try the old “pull a ring out of someone’s ear” trick. I scanned her first weiner dog and of course, the detector did not give off a signal. When she brought her other weiner dog out, I scanned the body area with the Equinox 800 and again, no signal. (The detector wasn’t even turned on). With Renee’s ring on my left index finger, cupped in my palm, I reached under the floppy ear of the weiner dog, and there it was, Renee’s beautiful ring. Renee was elated beyond words. She immediately gave me a big hug and thanked me repeatedly.  What a great feeling to find such an incredible ring for such a nice couple. Renee thought she’d never see the ring again. Unfortunately, not all searches end this way, but it just goes to show what some exceptional metal detecting equipment and determination can do. When I say determination, I mean crawling into a birthing pen with a 250+ pound momma pig and her newborn piglets. No animals or humans were harmed in any way during this search.

Ring Finder Recovers Lost Wedding Band for Famous Local Chef in Kensington, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Chef Tony’s very handsome tungsten carbide wedding band that was successfully recovered by long time friend and professional metal detectorist Brian Rudolph.

Chef Tony, owner and master chef of Chef Tony’s Fresh Seafood Restaurant and Chef Tony’s Seafood at Amalfi in Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland, smiling and proudly displaying his very special wedding ring that was lost just feet away from where he sits.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

I received a call from Tony who lost his wedding ring somewhere outside the front of his house. It was raining outside and as he neared the front door, his size 13.5 tungsten carbide ring slid off and disappeared somewhere to the left of the concrete porch area.

Tony knew of my metal detecting skills and small business called METAL DETECTING ADVENTURES INC because we have been friends for nearly 50 years. We went to elementary school, junior high and high school together. Tony is also known as the famous Chef Tony who owns two very prominent restaurants in Bethesda, Maryland (Chef Tony’s Fresh Seafood Restaurant) and Rockville, Maryland (Chef Tony’s Seafood at Amalfi). Everyone across town knows Tony and or heard of his amazing cuisines! If you live in the Delmarva area, dining at Chef Tony’s restaurants is a must!

Tony’s wife Sonia and their son went out looking for the lost ring sometime the next day or two. Unfortunately all of their search efforts came up empty handed. At first, Sonia thought about buying a metal detector, but then Tony mentioned my services and expertise and the idea was settled to contact me about the loss of the ring.

After just a few minutes of metal detecting a long side the concrete porch foundation, search in the soft ground, and checking in and around multiple flower pots, I was able to successfully recover Tony’s very special sentimental wedding band!

Tony was not surprised at the quick ring recovery just as I am never surprised how tasty and satisfying it is to dine at Chef Tony’s restaurants!

Hidden/Stray Nail Found Under Pool Liner in Southgate Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Pool of Thoughts……

….Got a call from Deb with an unusual request asking if I could find the reason her pool water was lowering faster than normal. She wanted to put the cover on but didn’t want all the water to drain out over the winter. She mentioned seeing damp spots off and on over the summer around the circumference of the pool and thought it was from the grandkids splashing around. On site I decided to dive into the cold water and metal detect the bottom, as metal detecting the sides was impossible due to the huge amount of metal. Years ago, in most cities the house construction debris was often buried in the back yard and over time some of this stuff finds its way to the surface even after excavating the ground, sand filling and leveling a new pool install. That’s exactly what I thought when I got a metal signal with the detector! Submerging down underwater with my pin pointer metal detector, feeling the object revealed it was a nail resting sideways with the head barely poking thru the liner. Resurfacing, then back underwater I took my knife and opened the hole large enough to pull out the rusty nail. Deb was in total disbelief. Using an underwater patch kit a few minutes later sealed up the hole. I finished up detecting the bottom liner portion and visually inspected the sides of the pool and with no other metal signals and the sides looking good I got out to dry off and warm up. I was hoping for one more water search this year before it got too cold and was thrilled to give this a go as unusual as it was. The nail find made a big splash with Deb, and with final thoughts I said….. If you never try, you’ll never sea!

Apple AirPod Found With A Metal Detector on A Beach In Southern Maine

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

On Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, I found an Apple AirPod, as I was Metal Detecting a local beach. I didn’t see it at first because it was among the White Sea shells and blended right in with the shells, but the detector kept going off. Once I saw it, amongst the shells, I scooped it up and looked around, hoping to see someone who may have just dropped it. Absolutely no one in the area. The Apple AirPod was not wet at all and must have been lost earlier in the morning.

I then started a grid to see if I could find the other AirPod. I was unable to find the matching AirPod and thought that the owner, may have only lost the one. Now I needed to find the owner.
Once I got home, I placed several posts on Facebook asking if anyone had lost an Apple AirPod. I placed the post on Lost and Found – Maine, and a couple of the local community sites. I had asked if anyone had lost their AirPod and if they had, where did they lose it. I had a few people contact me but the AirPod was no where near the areas that they had lost theirs. Then, on Sunday October 8th, I saw a message from Rita. Rita had lost her AirPod’s and it was exactly where I had found it. Now I had found the rightful owner. Unfortunately Rita had lost both of her AirPod’s but was happy to be getting one of them back, as she could still use the one I found. Rita thinks she lost them while walking her dog on the beach. The dog had broken away from her and she put the AirPod’s were placed in one of her shallow pockets, to chase after the dog. They must have fallen out of her shallow pocket as she chased the dog.
We made plans to meet up a few days later, so that I could return the AirPod. Today, October 12th, we met and I was able to return her AirPod. Now, I will be on the lookout whenever I go to the beach.

Heirloom Ring Recovered at Navarre Beach

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Dave, my Son-In-Law got a call Tuesday morning from Gina asking could he please help her find her Father’s ring in the Gulf of Mexico. David had to work that day so he asked me to help Gina. Her Father had since passed away and she was overwrought emotionally and ardently sentimental about the loss of his heirloom. To Gina the ring is a significant and permanent connection spirituality with her Father that was on her finger everyday and just had to be reclaimed. The ring was lost in about waist deep water at low tide but the horizontal plain was quiet large, perhaps 300 to 400 feet. Another factor revolved around the weather forecast. A tropical system was forecast to arrive that evening with large surf and gale force winds. If the ring wasn’t recovered before the weather arrived the probability of recovery would be significantly diminished. The beach she visited is part of the Gulf Islands Seashore and Park Management does not allow metal detection in the Park without a Special Permit. I have performed several recoveries of property for Gulf Islands Guests in the pass and contacted Park Staff for a permit only to learn that everyone was gone this day. The Park had an All-Hands-On-Deck wildfire in progress and I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. After several hours I did get in touch with a staff member who said to send an email requesting a permit and (in not so many words) that should cover my back. Because lots of time had passed in travel and permit issue and with weather issues on the horizon and most importantly, because Gina put her trust in me and I couldn’t fathom disappointing her, I arrived on the beach in early afternoon and Gina was their waiting on me. The search took about 4 hours before I heard the unmistakable vivacious, exuberant, resonance of gold. I immediately broke into a wide grin that got Gina’s attention. I exited the water and returned her ring to her hand and she put it back on the finger where it belongs. Both David and I are more that happy that we were able to made things right for Gina that day!

Gold Diamond Wedding Band Lost on Couple’s Anniversary at Private School…Found by Ring Finder in Silver Spring, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Victoria’s lovely 14 karat rose gold and half infinity style diamond wedding band that member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph, successfully recovered for the Silver Spring residents.

Victoria, Tyler and all of their children celebrate the return of one of the most priceless possessions that the family has ever owned. Thanks to ring finder Brian Rudolph, the disappointing anniversary on Friday turned into much Thanksgiving by Monday evening!

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Victoria and Tyler were hanging on their anniversary out by their children’s private school soccer field while watching one of their daughters play sports amongst the other children. Because it was such a special day for the couple, the two of them took pictures with their phones during the time that they were at the school grounds.

At some point, Victoria realized that she no longer had her beloved 14 karat rose gold and half infinity style diamond wedding band on her finger. The couple searched desperately all around the grassy field where Victoria played with her family, as well as looked all over the wood chip covered tot lot area. Sadly, the ring was nowhere to be found. It was extremely depressing for both Victoria and Tyler knowing that it was their special anniversary celebration day.

In addition to the family searching for the sentimental keepsake, there were about 20 or 30 children and adults looking all over the private school grounds with the hope that the very special piece of jewelry would show up. Even a metal detectorist who lived in the area, came out to see if he could find Victoria’s wedding band. Though he was not able to find the ring, he remembered referring another couple to me when they lost their ring and the fellow highly recommended my ring finding services.

After talking with Victoria regarding the loss of her irreplaceable rose gold and diamond wedding band, we set up a time for me to come out and meet up with Tyler so you could show me all of the places where Victoria had moved about behind the school four days earlier.

I am so excited to share that after 5 minutes of searching for the lost ring, I successfully recovered the special keepsake over by the soccer field. Well I did my metal detecting, about fifteen little private school kids watched as I conducted the search. I could not have been more happy for Victoria and Tyler after finding the ring buried below the grass! There were other places that I could have searched, but I chose that particular spot after Tyler told me that Victoria had laid her son down into the grass over by that particular place. I was correct in suspecting that the ring could have slipped off of Victoria’s finger at that moment in time!

It brought me such joy to transport the wedding band over to the couple’s house later that evening! They could not have been more grateful and more celebratory over the return of something that could not have possibly been replaced with another ring! The entire family joined me in giving thanks to the Lord for answering our prayer that Tyler and I lifted up to God just before I started the search! I’m so grateful to my Creator for giving me the ability to help such special people like Victoria and Tyler!
