June 2022 My buddy from work placed the call for assistance for a mens wedding band lost in the ivy. He was calling from a local high school track meet as he explained he had just watched a friend of the family loose his wedding ring.

Austin was just warming up for the shot put and as he made his throw my buddy and several others witnessed his wedding ring fly off his hand, hit the chain link fence and disappeared into an unmanaged jungle of ivy and brush. The details were passed to me over the phone with some supporting photos and an idea of the location where the ring was lost.

This site being rather close to my residence I was able to make several trips to the location knowing that no-one else would just stumble across the ring. However I did make an initial visit the evening of the track meet as a swarm of people were leaving. As it was dark I had a flashlight so I was able to visually check the clean side of the fence first incase the ring actually bounced back to where everyone was standing on the shot-put side. No ring was found with a detailed sweep so I was very confident the ring was hidden and obscured in the ivy some place. The eye witnesses reports stated they clearly heard the ring hit the fence so the biggest “what if” question in my head is if the ring dropped straight down or ricocheted and sailed off into the forest of ivy bushes. With a large young man fully wound up full of energy throwing a shot put there was a big concern that the ring could have had quite a bit of energy behind it sending it quite a distance. To this point the only thing I could be sure of is that the ring wasn’t going to be found unless I performed a dedicated search until it turned up!

Lost 14k White Gold Cross and Chain Found Ventnor NJ by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

Lost something?

Don’t wait to call!

215-850-0188

Sheila contacted me today about her fiancé’s chain and cross that were accidentally left on the beach in Ventnor, NJ.  The surf was rough yesterday, so he decided to take it off before going into the ocean.  Forgetting that it was in the side pocket of the beach chair, the jewelry dropped into the sand when packing up. They didn’t realize it was missing until after they got home and were extremely upset because it is very sentimental.  I met with the couple on the beach and they gave me the approximate location where it could have been lost.  Something in the distance caught my eye as I was walking around detecting.  It glistened for a second, so I decided to walk toward it.  It turned out to be the edge of the cross peeking out of the sand! It’s a great feeling when you find what you’re looking for, but it’s extra special when you recover something so sentimental.

May 2022 Ilandra called me seeking help for a lost diamond wedding ring in her home. She clearly tells me the situation of where she last had her ring. Just a few days prior she was cooking dinner over her stove when some food got on to her ring. She remembers washing her ring off in her kitchen sink then drying it with a kitchen towel that was hanging from her oven door. She recalls clutching her ring in her hand as she went up the stairs to her bedroom to prepare for an evening shower. Just a few minutes after having left the kitchen she had gathered a pajama top from her bedroom closet, placed some close on her bathroom counter and realized her precious diamond wedding ring was no where to be found! She has a common habit of leaving her wedding ring on the bathroom counter while bathing and expected the ring to be there but it was not. She asked her husband who had been with her all evening and he clearly remembered having last seen her washing it off in the kitchen. What seem to have taken place in an instant turned into a huge all night search with the couple turning their house upside down looking for her ring yet no ring was to be found. After hearing this story I asked several clarifying questions as my basic line of investigation. The odd thing was this was a basic routine end of day evening for them. There was no drinking, no stress, no drama, no third parties had been in the home, no cats or dogs. I learned she has a young son but he had been sleeping the whole time this incident took place. She explained she was at a total loss of where or what could have happened to her ring and after having found me online she was desperate and needed some help.

With all these details I reassured her if the ring was still on the property I would do all I could to assist her with an in home search. I explained with all of my special tools, processes and experience we needed to act quickly and to treat this in home search as a priority. She agreed with me as we set a schedule to meet just a few days later. I also took that opportunity to stress the point from my past experience they needed to save all the house hold garbage and to set it aside in a safe quarantine zone. She confirmed that they still had all of the trash and had done some looking through it already but agreed and fully understood the importance in securing all the house hold garbage.  As I tell many people in this situation we just don’t know if its in the trash, the laundry, under an appliance, hiding in a cabinet or container. At the very least allow me to search your house hold garbage before releasing it to the curb regardless of how much you may have poked through it yourself.

When it comes to in home searches each case is unique and of its own but there is common areas we tend to focus on a first priority to search based on our years of experience. With human nature certain actions and activities causing lost jewelry tend to stand out to us as Lost Item Recovery Specialist so please allow us an opportunity to do all we can to assist you in your lost item situation.

Car Keys “Lost” on State Highway – Found

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

The sole purpose of a ringfinder, is to find the lost item, not to judge. Believe me, we’ve heard it all…

I’ll call him Bob.

Bob phoned me just on sunset, “I’ve lost my car keys on the side of the road…”

He was just down the road, so 15 minutes later I pulled up behind their car.

Bob came up to meet me while his partner sat in the car.

As he told me the first version of the story, the Search and Rescue training kicked in and I was assessing the scene and the behavioral profiling. My very first question was, “Were they thrown?” with a knowing grin.

He sheepishly admitted that maybe there was some velocity involved, during a ‘discussion’ with his partner.

Personally, I don’t care if it was thrown in anger, or even lost through some embarrassing and less than rational action, but please do be honest with the guy who turns up to look for it for you.

The side of the highway at the bottom of a hill was loaded with trash signals from litter which had washed down over the years, and it was really hard graft with signals coming from all over.

I jumped the nearby farm fence and cleared the extents that they might have gone into the neighboring paddock, nothing found so it was back into the trash…

Changing up the gear to cope with the many drink cans and bits of car etc, I started a more focussed search, and 15 minutes later just on dark I held up the keys.

I got a “No Way!” from his partner as she emerged from the car, and it was high fives all round.

I can only imagine the conversation as they drove away…

Metal Detector Rental Maple Ridge

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Vancouver Ring Finder Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP  Anytime   778-838-3463

Why rent a metal detector when you can hire a metal detecting specialist…

I recieved a call from a young man who told me he had lost his wedding ring on the side of the street possibly in the snow. He was inquiring about my services, he told me he had rented a metal detector and was going back to look for it,  I just said when you’re done and if you can’t find it, call me and I’ll be happy to come out and find it for you. He said he looked for close to four hours the day before, and he would put it away and wait for me to come out as he was pretty much done with the rental detector.

I adjusted my day switched a search over and headed to his location as it was more important because it was in a public area where somebody may be able to find it before I got there, even though there’s snow, it could’ve landed on the sidewalk or road for anyone to see. When I got there, I met William and he told me his feelings on where the ring should’ve been and I could see his spent a lot of time searching in the area as the snow was almost completely melted where he had been looking.

He had to go back to his place so I started to search and just before I got going a young lady stopped with her kids and asked me if that was a metal detector. I said yes and I was out there looking for someone who had lost their wedding. She said do you make house calls and I said absolutely, she told me that her husband had just lost his wedding band the night before making a snowman for his kids in the backyard. I told her that once I was done finding this ring I would head on over to her place to find her husband’s ring.

Back to Williams lost ring…After 20 minutes of grid searching I found the ring in an area where he did not look, it few backwards quite a distance into a hedge where it wedged into the leaves and dirt hidden from view. It was so nice to surprise him with his ring when he came back, and it was a beautiful ring with mountains and a diamond for the sun or stars very unique… He was such a nice young man, and loved his wife so much. It was such an honour as they all are to be able to find and reconnect these people with these beautiful and sentimental items.

May 2022 In my home town I dropped into a local shop “Mondo’s Disc Golf Pro Shop”. I meet with one of the owners Rocky and explained that I am a Lost Item Recovery Specialist that has had a lot of success recovering lost items of value for people. I explained to him people often loose valuable wedding rings and other important items when doing out door activities especially when flicking the wrist and throwing. Being that most people when loosing an item of value they often choose to check in with local businesses or any organizer of their specific sport or community to get the word out. With this I handed him my card and assured him that he now has a trusted recovery specialist he can be confident in recommending for such desperate situations.

I asked Rocky if he had any lost item stories to share and to my surprise his eyes lit up a bit as he explained a situation they were having. Each hole on the corse has two to three positions for the basket to be installed. In this way they can switch up the course from time too time to keep a fresh challenge for the players. Basically a length of galvanized steel pole slightly larger in diameter than the pole used for the basket acts as a receiver. It is typically cemented into the ground to hold and secure the basket. These receiver pins only stick out of the ground a few inches at most. He explained to me they had a situation at our local Auburn Disc Golf Course at the Game Farm Wilderness Park known as the “White River Disc Golf Course. A few years back they had lost track of the long pin position for the Summer 12 hole. Over time they had no idea if the winter storms has blown debris over the receiver pin or possibly some fallen logs they noticed in the area could be covering it.

With this information I was excited to take on this mission of relocating the lost receiver pin and headed to the course to investigate with all of my special tools and experience on the ready. Watch this episode of The Seattle Ring Hunter Lost Item Recovery to see the conclusion of the missing pin position. If you are one of our local disc golf players and have played with this newly resurrected long pin position for Summer 12 leave us a comment below and tell us what you think about it.

Now to everyone in the disc golf community let me give you one of my pro tips. So often when we loose an  item of value we are completely caught off guard. Due to stress and an urgency to try to locate our items we don’t always think of the most important course of action. With that being said if your wedding ring flew off your finger or you have lost a piece of jewelry, stop and take in a deep breath. Do not move from the spot! Pull out your cell phone or ask any one within the distance of your voice to come assist you. Someone surely has a cell phone and you can easily make a GPS waypoint pin of your precise location and have them txt it to your phone immediately before you get sidetracked! Also take a few photos for reference of the direction you were facing during the incident. Now with this information saved you can proceed with  a visual search of your lost item. If after a period of time don’t over exhaust yourself, simply call me for confidential phone conversation as I have the experience to assist you in  your lost item recovery process. By saving your GPS pin we now have the best data to work from.

Even if you don’t have a precise location in mind when you have lost an item call me ASAP, no matter the time of day, while the situation if still fresh in your mind. I have a lot of experience and will work with you in doing all we can to drill down all viable possibilities to get your lost items of value recovered and back in your hand where they belong.

Ring lost 18 months ago found in New Orleans, Louisiana

  • from New Orleans (Louisiana, United States)

I received a text message from Catherine who resides across Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans, LA. She stated that she just recently heard about the RingFinders and was wondered whether we would be able to help her locate her White Gold Amethyst ring she lost in her backyard in August 2021 (18 months ago). She also said that she has since sold the home and we would need permission from the new owners. She received the ring on her 16th birthday from her mother, so the ring was very important and she had possession of it for a long time. She believed her partner may have pressure washed it off of the stairs after she set it down to do some yard work. After looking for around 30 minutes, I accumulated probably over 200 nails and screws. Luckily, I had my magnet to eliminate these quickly so I can focus my Garrett pinpointer on the higher quality targets. I dug out the mulch and rocks in between two posts on the side of the porch. After picking out all the nails with my magnet that came from between the posts, I noticed my pinpointer was still picking up a target. As I moved the dirt to see what the target was, out pops the ring! Finally, after 18 months, Catherine was able to be reunited with her ring.

May 2022 Maren contacted me asking if I could do a search for her lost cochlear hearing aid. She explained to me that she was visiting some friends at the University of WA dorms. There were out on the sixth floor balcony dancing around. Maren got a bit too aggressive and one of her magnetic cochlear hearing aids flew off, fell to the balcony deck and rolled off the edge. Her cochlear hearing aid then took a six story free fall to the bushes below. Maren and her friends immediately went to the ground level and searched the best they could with no success.  They even went to the local hardware store and bought a large magnet and twine. They went back up to the sixth floor balcony lowering the magnet down in an attempt to fish the cochlear hearing aid out of the bushes. This only resulted in the magnet getting snagged in some ivy vines causing them the loss of their new magnet. At this point feeling devastated one of Maren’s friends decided to do a online search for “metal detectors near you” and found TheRingFinders.com She thought surely they should be able to find a hearing aid.

It was early evening when the call came through. It had only been lost for a few hours but for what ever reason the bluetooth tracking feature between her lost cochlear hearing aid and her mobile app were not connecting. There was a concern that maybe the unit was damage on impact of they just didn’t get close enough to the unit for it to be detected by the app. With evening soon approaching dark clouds were forming indicating light rains could occur at any moment. Maren shared her concerns that her desperately needed hearing aid was now at risk of water damage. So an emergency call out was under way to search for her lost Cochlear hearing aid. Even if the unit had taken some damage she could still take to her audiologist for service.
