Lost wedding ring, Disney Caribbean Resort, Orlando, Fl…..Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Last Friday I received an e-mail from Iain asking if I could help him look for his lost ring. Apparently Iain was playing goalie for his young son who was kicking his soccer ball in an area with very soft sand that the Disney Caribbean Resort provides near all of their pool locations. Iain found himself diving to the left and to the right, blocking the ball with his hands. And having put on sun screen beforehand, added to the soft sand and sweat…well, that usually adds up to “Lost Ring!”
It wasn’t until later that Iain noticed his ring was missing and that led him to search online for “metal detector rental”. And thankfully up popped www.theringfinders.com and one of my stories. So Iain decided to send me a message. (Sometimes you can wait a day or two before doing a search but at other times it is best to look as soon as possible. Especially in a public area where there are allot of people coming and going!)
There were plenty of coins, pull tabs and a few bottle caps in the 40 X 40 foot soft sandy area. But with a man’s platinum ring one has to dig every signal that even sounds good. It took about 2 hours to finally pinpoint Iain’s lost ring hidden among a small coin spill.
For 12 years Iain had not taken his ring off and it was so worth the 2 hours to see the big smile on his face!! Even his dear family came out to tell me thank you! And thank you so much Iain for the generous reward and again it was a real honor and privilege to meet you and your dear family!

Long Lost Boston College Ring Found at Horse Neck Beach in Westport MA

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)

In August 2016, while searching for a lost wedding ring in the water, I came across a Boston College ring buried underwater in the sand. Someone had tried to scratch out the owner’s name, but with the help of a magnifying glass, I was able to identify the name, Christopher P. Martin.  I searched the internet and social media for months trying to find him. I even called Boston college twice to enlist their help in locating this graduate but that didn’t help.  After six months of searching, I decided to contact WJAR Channel 10 to see if they could help me in my quest to find the owner of the ring, and they agreed. After the story aired on Channel 10, I still didn’t hear anything. My wife had an idea.  Through the Boston College website, she connected with the Facebook of the Class of 1998.  She messaged both Chris Martin and a college friend of his with a link to the Channel 10 story.  Her detective work and the Channel 10 story paid off!  The friend forwarded the link to Chris Martin, and he contacted me.  Chris told me that his apartment was broken into about 15 years ago and his Boston College ring was stolen.  He agreed to do a follow-up story about the ring return with Channel 10. With the help of my wife and Channel 10, I was able to reunite the ring with its owner.  As you can see from the videos and photo, Chris was very happy to have this ring back!    videos…….. Lost Ring at Smith Farm Fields in Northampton, MA… Found!

  • from Westerly (Rhode Island, United States)

Mrs. Volberg contacted me to discuss a ring she lost while walking her dog after a large snowstorm in Northampton, Massachusetts. The last memory of her lost ring was earlier that morning, just before she put on her gloves to go to Smith Farm Fields.

We began searching several places she stopped to let her dog off-leash. In one place, in particular, she remembers the dog getting startled due to a cross-country skier. She remembers removing her gloves during the commotion – glove removal is a common way to lose a ring in the snow. As we searched, a man stopped and asked what we were looking for with a metal detector. When we told him about the lost ring and the potential search areas, he revealed that he found a woman’s 14k gold ring in the middle of the path last weekend! The location and time frame lined up perfectly. Mr. Baldwin not only found her ring in the snow, but he went a step further and verified ownership by requiring Mrs. Volberg to identify the engraving on the inside of the ring. However, she had a moment of doubt when she recalled no engraving inside the lost gold band. What are the chances that Mr. Baldwin picked up this lost ring and happened to be at Smith Farm Fields during the same day and time I was searching for Mrs. Volberg’s lost ring! Thank you, Mr. Baldwin, for your honesty and caring personality!

Lost Diamond Ring Found in Cumberland RI

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

On February 25th, I received a somewhat frantic call from Lisa.  Her custom-made diamond wedding ring-band had been missing for two weeks.  It was last seen in a bathroom drawer in their house, and Lisa and her husband had been combing the house since that time.  They assumed that their two-year old son had hidden the ring somewhere in the house or that he may have thrown it out of an open second-story window in his room.  Lisa had learned of The Ring Finders from a friend and asked for my help with the search.  I covered the area in the backyard directly under the window without any success.  I also suggested that the ring may have landed on an eave or its gutter just below the second floor windows but would have needed a ladder of over twenty-feet to reach the area.  We moved our search into the house, trying to imagine where a toddler would hide a ring.  After searching through closets, drawers, under furniture, etc., I saw her son trying to stuff something through a small space in his parents’ bedroom window and suggested that he may have done the same with her ring.  We opened the bedroom window, and Lisa hung out the window to check the eave and gutter, while I made sure that she didn’t fall out.  She was shocked and ecstatic to find her ring on the eave right under the window.

Lost anniversary ring recovered in Redmond after Washington snowstorm!

  • from Seattle (Washington, United States)

Hello everyone, my name is Jason Anderson and I just wanted to use my first post to introduce myself and my services. I am a very determined detectorist and am looking forward to helping reunite you with your lost items in the greater Seattle/Bellevue/Eastside areas.

I am available to hunt for all kinds of lost items, not just rings… and I can travel further for searches on a case-by-case basis. I can even do shallow water hunts if need be.

My first case as a Ringfinder occurred this week after Washington got a bit of a snow storm. A woman had lost her rings in the snow after taking her wet gloves off. She was understandably upset and very hopeful I could help find her rings. I was able to travel to her city the next morning and it proved to be a difficult hunt in the snow… but I found her gold & diamond anniversary band! The other ring was still out there but it was getting dark so I scheduled a return trip to continue searching.

Before I could return, the snow quickly melted in the rain and luckily a neighbor found the remaining ring! All’s well that ends well! She was ecstatic and so am I!

Just remember, if you lost your ring or any other metal items that are important to you: Don’t give up hope, and time is of the essence! Give me a call or email me please! I want to help you find your rings, and your smiles! 🙂

Lost Keys found in East Providence, RI

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

Today, I received a call from Nick asking for my help in finding his keys.  They were lost in the snow after a storm that dropped a foot of snow. Nick had the keys in his pocket when he started snow blowing. After he finished, the keys were missing, and Nick had no idea where to begin. He decided to search the internet for help and found me through The Ring Finders website.  I searched his yard and found the keys in about ten minutes. As you can tell,  Nick was very happy to have his keys back!

My wife and I were on our honeymoon on the Big Island in early 2017. We were having an amazing time until we stopped at a beach in Hilo. After a few minutes of swimming near turtles I realized I had lost my wedding ring. I was in a state of shock. The gold ring was a family heirloom. My mother had given my father the ring when they married over 40 years ago. I couldn’t believe it was now lost in the ocean just three months after my wedding. For over an hour I attempted to find it but I eventually gave up. I had lost hope. But that’s when I found out my wife had a plan. When I got out of the water she was already on the phone with Brent at Big Island Metal Detecting. I was sure the ring was lost for good, but Brent convinced us he could help find it. Since it was so late in the day we agreed to meet at the beach early the next morning. Brent drove across the island from Kona to meet us at 6:30 a.m. By 7 a.m. the ring was back on my finger! Brent was able to locate the ring even though it was buried in sand in water over six feet deep. Brent turned the lowest moment of our honeymoon into a story we will never forget. We then all celebrated with an early breakfast in town. We had found the ring and made a new friend. Thank you so much Brent. – Mike from Brooklyn

Lost Platinum Wedding Ring Recovered in Raleigh N.C. on 1/30/17

  • from Hillsborough (North Carolina, United States)
Contact:

This morning on 1/30/17 , I was contacted by a gentleman about his wedding ring he had lost while at a local soccer park yesterday with his son. We discussed the lost ring and all the details of where he had lost it and how.. After speaking to him I agreed to meet him at the park today to do the search and find his ring.. I assured him it would be a easy search and I would be able to find his ring since he was sure of the area he lost it in.. That’s also assuming nobody already found it and picked it up which happens a lot.

When I got there it was around 1:00 pm and I gave him a call to let him know i was there like we had agreed. While I was waiting for him to get there to walk me through everything that happened when he lost the ring I decided to start my investigation and search early to see if I could locate it. I got my long range electroscope called the fieldscope out of my truck and my detector. I started scanning the area with my fieldscope to see if I could get a lock on it. Right away I started picking up the hits. I followed the line in on the hits and used my detector for conformation to locate the ring. I was able to locate the ring in about 5 minutes of searching with the help of my fieldscope / electroscope. The ring was recovered in the center of the soccer field before he even arrived. I was happy to be able to help him out.

Lost gold pendant in St. Augustine, Fl…..Found!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Bill was taking his little nephew for a ride on a small four wheeler and as he stood up to get off he noticed his heavy gold chain was unlatched and his special “Road Runner” pendant was gone. This pendant was given to him by his late father 30 some years ago as a very special gift. Bill immediately started looking for it and spent hours searching thru the long grass and sandy areas where they had unloaded and ridden the four wheeler. A few days later they used a metal detector and tried and still were not able to find Bill’s lost pendant.
Not wanting to give up, Bill searched the internet and found theringfinders.com web site and gave me a call. I arrived in St. Augustine three hours later and began my search. If the pendant was there I was determined to find it. Bill’s wife Kerri had shown me the large area where the pendant was thought to have been lost, so I set out a few markers, said a short prayer and began swinging my DFX. Bill came an hour and a half later, just as it was getting dark and we talked and searched by the light of his cell phone. Another hour passed and then I got a great signal and there just under the dead grass was Bill’s 14k gold Roadrunner pendant! You talk about one happy young man!! And thanks allot Bill for the reward and I am so glad you gave me a call and that I was able to find your lost pendant.

Lost Ring Doing Yard Work in East Hartford, Connecticut… Found!

  • from Westerly (Rhode Island, United States)

A gentleman contacted me about losing his ring while doing yard work in East Hartford, Connecticut. Before calling me, he and his friends spent hours on their hands and knees searching the yard for the lost ring. They even used their metal detectors to search the yard – no luck. The last memory of the ring was placing it in his pocket just before beginning the yard work.

Once I arrived to discuss the situation, he explained how he got off the mower in a few different places throughout the yard. He couldn’t exactly remember where but he mentioned the mower getting stuck a couple of times. I began looking for soft spots and sunken areas in the grass where the mower could have gotten stuck. I was thinking maybe the ring fell out of his pocket while getting off the mower. One of the first places to catch my eye was a disturbed clod of grass with fresh dirt exposed. I scanned the spot, and immediately a loud signal rang through my metal detector! I found the ring just under the exposed soil next to the clod of grass! Just like that, Anhtuan was wearing his ring once again.
