Wedding Band Lost While Sledding – Found! by metal detector specialist Brian Carpenter in Irwin, PA

  • from Indiana (Pennsylvania, United States)

Lost your ring, other valuable jewelry, cellphone, keys, or other metal object…call or text Brian Carpenter at (814)244-2300 as soon as possible. I am a ring recovery/metal detecting specialist serving Pittsburgh, Indiana (PA), and most of Western PA. Why rent a metal detector when you can get a trained operator with top of the line equipment at the same time…

I got a call from Don on my way home from Digstock in NC. He lost his wedding ring in his backyard a few months ago and wanted to see if I could come out and look for it. He had looked, even with a metal detector, and did not have any luck. After getting home and checking my schedule I went out the next day.

When I arrived I met Don’s wife and she showed me where to look. Pretty standard, big hill for sledding with a few small trees and a little area of brush. I started to look and before too long Don came back from work. After about a half hour I found his ring in a mossy area a short distance from where he thought he might have lost it. I gave it to his wife to give to him when he came out of the house. He was happy it was found and I took him to the back to show him where. There had been some pretty good sounds in the backyard and Don told me it was an old golf course. He gave me permission to look around which I was very appreciative. On top of finding his ring I added a bit more clad to the collection, nothing good but it was a beautiful day and a new place to look. As always it was nice to meet another kind and generous client and be able to return their ring to them.

I received a phone call about a lost Engagement Ring which was lost while clearing and cleaning the old plants from the flower beds. She was just doing her normal routine while wear gloves. Then after the job was done the ring was gone. We was able to perform the search the next day. Started the search in the first areas with no luck. Still continued through each flower bed area and the first dump site of two  for the plant waste materials. During the search of the second waste plant materials site, I had a hit in the dead plants, as I moved the plants away the hit disappeared which told me the item has fallen down into the older pile. Started moving the debris out of the way and there was the ring that has fallen and hidden itself. She was very happy to have the Ring returned to her.

Lost wedding ring found on the Soccer Field at West Ranch HS in Valencia

Lost Your Ring in Santa Clarita? How Dave MacDonald, Metal Detecting Expert, Saved Raul’s Wedding Ring
March 10, 2025
Yesterday afternoon, I received an urgent call from Raul, a Valencia resident who had lost his wedding ring at West Ranch High School. Raul plays in a competitive men’s soccer league every Sunday on the school’s grassy field. Usually, his focus is on winning the game, but this time, victory took a backseat—he just wanted his precious wedding ring back. He explained that he’d removed the ring for safekeeping, placing it in or on his bag, only to discover it missing an hour later.
Raul suspected the ring was lost somewhere between two points on the field—a sprawling 200-yard stretch of grass in Valencia. That’s a big area to cover, so I knew I’d need to bring my A-game as Santa Clarita’s trusted metal detecting expert. We arranged to meet on Monday at 3:30 PM, after the school day ended and the field cleared out. Raul and his friend had bought a couple of cheap metal detectors the day before, hoping to find it themselves. I advised him to return them—when it comes to finding lost rings in Santa Clarita, Valencia, Castaic, or Canyon Country, Dave The RingFinder is the name you can trust.
The Search Begins with Dave The RingFinder
We started at the endpoint near where we parked, retracing Raul’s steps from Sunday. I worked slowly and methodically, ensuring no patch of grass was overlooked. Fortunately, the West Ranch HS field in Valencia had minimal trash, so my metal detector stayed quiet—perfect conditions for a focused search. As we progressed, though, time dragged on, and the remaining field shrank. I started to worry: had someone picked up the ring, or worse, had a mower flung it hundreds of feet away, lost forever?
Halfway through, I suggested a new strategy—let’s head to where Raul had originally been on the field and start fresh. He marked off a 30’x30’ area, and I began gridding it out like the metal detecting pro I am, while Raul searched nearby. I dug up 20-30 quarters and dimes—typical finds on a school field—but no gold yet. Doubt crept in. Then, my detector let out a double beep, a low tone that could mean a gold ring… or just another pull-tab. I held my breath, dug down, and there it was—Raul’s wedding ring, gleaming in the grass!
Another Happy Ending Thanks to Dave MacDonald
Raul’s relief was instant—he was out of the doghouse, and his ring was back where it belonged. As I like to say, “God is good!” Another lost ring recovered, right here in Valencia.

*** Many times people spend hours looking for their lost ring before realizing they need help. Especially when they saw the ring come off their finger. Most the time it is a waste of time and can result in a total loss of the ring.  There are many more complications they may run into after

beginning a search including that the ring was actually still at home or lost somewhere before they got to  the beach.

Rick was at San Clemente Beach, CA. When he raised his arm to swinging it down to brush sand off his pants.

He was positive it came off as he brushed his clothing. Straight down or in back of where he was standing.

Wrong ! I searched those areas he believe the heavy platinum ring had gone. No signals from my detector.. It was such a small area, I even did a cross grid. Then, I went way outside the potential area. Boom! more than 30ft. from where he stood, his platinum ring. I believe it actually came off when he raised his hand to swing it down to brush sand off his clothing. You never know, searching involves detective work, good equipment, persistence, and most of all experience.

If the item is there a experienced metal detector expert can find it..

Andrew called me and said his wife took her gold and diamond wedding ring off and set it on her towel only to pick up her towel later and lose it in the sand.

I met Andrew at the beach and he had marked off a large area in the sand and also place a stick near where they were sitting.

I turned on my detector and the first swing I got a 12 on my Equinox 800. This was a first signal recovery and a beautiful ring to boot.

Visitor from Australia Loses Wedding Ring .. Found and Returned by Stan the Detector Man

If you need help finding your lost ring or other important metal item call or text.. Stan the Metal Detector Man.. 949-500-2136

*** Dave’s friend from Australia was visiting him in San Clemente at Riviera Beach. At the end of the day he realized his white gold wedding band was missing. He wasn’t sure if the loss happened at the beach, but he discovered it missing 20 minutes after leaving the beach.

The next day I responded to Dave’s call for help. He showed me a large area where they had been the day before. He had to leave to his work, I would not need any more directions. The beach only had three people on the towel line, so I cleared the major part of the towel line before more beach goers sat on the potential area of the loss. After that I concentrated on the rest of the sand leading off the beach.

After about 1-1/2 hours, I had cleared all the area except where the three people were sitting. Then I saw them pack up to leave the beach. A couple minutes later I had the missing ring in my sand scoop. The only people on the beach that morning were sitting on the lost ring.

Next thing I did was call Dave so we could arrange to meet near his work place to return the ring. Dave would surprise his friend when he returns from a side trip to the east coast.

Grandmother’s Heirloom Platinum Wedding Ring Set Recovered and Returned to Owner

  • from Ponte Vedra Beach (Florida, United States)

** *** Lost Heirloom Platinum Wedding Ring Set at Gainesville, FL.  Found after owners searched for a week with a metal detector, then gave up searching and called a professional Ringfinder**

I received a call from a gentleman who explained his wife lost her heirloom platinum wedding ring set somewhere in their yard. They searched for a week using a metal detector and gave up any hope of finding the rings. They even contacted their insurance company to let them know they were likely going to have to file an insurance claim. His wife found TheRingFinders website and contacted me. Even though they were almost 100 miles from my house, I could tell how distraught they were so I responded to their house for the search.

Please click the video link to see the recovery and their reaction.

**TESTIMONIAL**

My wife lost both her wedding band and her engagement ring somewhere in our lawn of thick St. Augustine grass.  We borrowed a friend’s metal detector and searched for over a week with no luck.  It was her grandmother’s diamond and we were distraught. We contacted our insurance company to let them know we were likely going to have to make a claim.  My wife found TheRingFinders.com and we made contact with Adam on a Thursday.  He responded immediately and we made plans for him to travel approximately 200 miles round trip to our home in Gainesville on Sunday.  Adam arrived Sunday morning with enthusiasm and professionalism.  We showed him the area of the yard that we had been searching thoroughly and had given up on, and in less than ten minutes he found both rings.  We were in disbelief, as we had truly given up hope.  Talk about results!  While I hope we never have to call on Adam again, it is reassuring to know that he is out there helping people like us with his kindness and experience.  I would 100% recommend Adam.  Thank you very much, Adam.

LOST GOLD HEIRLOOM DIAMOND RING IN YORK, SC………FOUND!!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Received a text yesterday from a young lady stating she had lost her grandmothers ring in her yard about a year ago while doing yard work, taking her gloves off to play with her dogs.

She also stated they were about to move and wanted me to come see if I could find it before they moved. I tell her I’ll be there at 8:00 am!

I get there at 8:00 am, we talked for a few mins to get the story and locations to search pointed out. She felt it was in the backyard, but mentioned a small area in the front where it might be.

I got my gear and searched the front first. Done in about 5 mins, it wasn’t there. We then move to the backyard. While she was putting her dogs away, I started walking towards the area she mentioned. As she’s walking back, past me and my very first signal, I get a signal not too deep. Using my digging tool, I see shiny heart with a diamond pop out of the dirt!

It was found! This is what I enjoy the most about being on this website! I don’t care how far I have to drive to help someone find their priceless lost items!

DIAMOND NECKLACE AND CLASS RING LOST IN THE PALISADES FIRE FOUND AND RETURNED

  • from Santa Monica (California, United States)

Wendy called me to help her find some jewelry that was lost when her house was destroyed in the palisades fire .  I met her three days later and followed her to the property. She said that she grabbed her jewelry box when she was on the way out the door when she was evacuated. before the fire. She told me there was still a few pieces of jewelry that she left behind that were important to her. I started digging for a while with no luck. I removed a safe from the rubble but was told that there probably  wasn’t anything valuable left in it. I had a strange feeling in my gut that there was so I told her that I would try and open it. That turned out to be harder than I thought. It was a fireproof safe and very heavy. It took over an hour using a crowbar a sledge hammer and a lot of hitting prying and bending. finally I got to the point were I could squeeze the cutting blade of an electric grinder in and cut out the two remaining bolts that were holding the door on. At last it was open.  I scooped the contents of the safe onto a sifting screen and to her surprise there was most of her valuable jewelry. This included her diamond necklace . her husbands gold class ring . Several gold and silver bracelets and chains. a watch, a couple of other gold rings and two very sentimental silver stars of David that she bought many years ago on a trip to Israel with her husband before they got married. I’m glad that I trusted my gut and put the extra effort into opening the safe and Wendy was very happy that I did.
