Palladium Wedding Ring Lost at Malibu, CA Beach…Found.

It was about 7:30 PM this last Sunday, and I had just sat down for a late dinner when I received a call from Frederico who lost his wedding ring on the beach earlier. He wanted to know if I would be willing to come and search for it for him, maybe the next morning. I instead told him, that if he was game, I would come to the beach as soon as I finished my dinner to do the search, to which he agreed. I know that the sooner I act on a loss, the better chance of a successful recovery, so I was willing to make the drive, and do the search that evening. He and his family were on vacation from Portugal, and would be going back in about 5 days; it was important to get this ring back to him.

I got to the beach about 9:00 PM, and we met where we would hike down to the spot. When we got there, I turned on my headlight, blending with the light of Frederico’s IPhone, I could see defined grid marks in the damp sand over a wide area. I could tell they spent some time looking for the ring. He told me he had put it into his pants pocket so he could go into the water without losing it, but when he was going to leave the beach, forgot, and turned his pants upside down to shake the sand out of them. It wasn’t long after, that he realized what he had done.

I began my search, and I figured that because the sand was damp, the ring was not going to very deep. It wasn’t long before I got a good tone in the earphones and scooped out a bunch of sand; nothing in the scoop. I checked again and scooped; nothing. I checked again and scooped, and out came Frederico’s ring. That ring was down over 8″ in the damp sand, which told me they had searched with extreme vigor to make that ring sink so far in just a short time. He was so glad to have his ring back, and told me that it surprised him that I would come out to help him late on a Sunday night, but like all the Ring Finders I have met, we know that time is a very strong determining factor in a successful recovery, so the sooner you get to it the better. I was glad to have been a good ambassador for the Ring Finders, and my country to some very friendly vacationers from Portugal.

Ring Found and Returned in Riverside,RI

Mary and Gene were enjoying a campfire in their backyard until she lost her engagement ring and wedding band.  Frantic to locate the rings, Gene searched for hours on his hands and knees.  He was able to locate the engagement ring, but the wedding band couldn’t be found.  Gene even purchased a metal detector but returned it because he was inexperienced with its operation.  Mary searched the internet for help and located the Ring Finders website.  Gene contacted me and asked if I could search their backyard.  In less than a half hour, I located the wedding band in the grass.  It was a pleasure to help this nice young couple!

Buried Key Found and Returned, Edmonton Alberta.

Rommel called me yesterday afternoon asking if I could help him find his key he buried in a park by a tree unfortunately he forgot which tree it was, For a minute I thought it was a joke but after asking  few questions why/where/when,  asked him why he had buried the key there and not at home and why was it important to have the key back he told me he was driving home from work one evening and thought the park would be safe place, also he made a box and had sentimental value and did not want to damage the box, I determined he was sincere and agreed to meet him at the park. Arrived at the park and meet Rommel he showed me the location and where he had been searching around the trees I must have checked about 15 trees and shrubs, As always asking more question.

After searching for 2 hrs and switching from AT-Pro to V3i with 4×6 coil received a good signal and there buried in about 6 inches of mulch was his key another happy client thank you Rommel for trusting me to find your key.

Lost Gold and Diamonds Wedding Band Set at Waimanalo Beach Park…FOUND!!!

It was 7:00 in the evening when I went to get my cellphone off the charger, I turned on the cell and had missed a call 40 minutes prior from Jonathan a local Wedding photographer. While setting up the final scene where he puts the couples two Wedding bands on a starfish in the sand a rogue wave washed way up on the shoreline and erased the scene. In utter shock Jonathan and his lovely assistant Imi immediately started searching for the scattered rings. Of course they were no where to be found. Jonathan then googled “lost ring” on his cellphone and that’s when he left a voicemail. I returned the call immediately but no one answered. After about 15 minutes Jonathan called back and said he was returning the unfortunate couple back to their hotel in Waikiki. I told him we had to look tonight as the next high tide could displace the ring forever. Waimanalo has a very steep shoreline and is difficult to detect in the water this time of year. We met at a local high school and drove back to Waimanalo Beach Park. It was pitch dark now and thankfully I remembered to bring my dive torch. Jonathan and Imi took me to the beach and the tide was out which made the search area dry and easier to hunt. There was a basket on the beach and we speculated others at the beach that knew the rings were lost tried sifting the sand for the rings. I marked the extreme ends of my grid and started the search. My first screaming target was a Great Basin Nevada State Park quarter. I continued on. The area was sterile clean white sand so the search was quiet. After about 5 minutes on the fourth leg I got another low and high tone signal. One scoop down there was the rose gold band. Another scoop down and there was the white gold band. Jonathan & Imi were ecstatic with joy. Can you imagine how they must have felt when they lost the couple’s rings. Imi immediately took some pics with her cellphone and texted them to the couple in Waikiki. This honeymoon was going to be very memorable. Aloha to Jonathan & Imi.

I received a call from Carlos regarding his lost necklace and pendant in the waters of  Lake Conroe. Carlos said while boating with friends this weekend, he had the misfortune of loosing a family heirloom (a gold chain with a gold and diamond pendant)

Out camping with the family this past weekend and just happened to get a call for a lost wedding ring at the very same campground that we are staying at. After a brief search, recovered the diamond and white gold ring.

Every married ladies nightmare came true today when I lost my engagement ring and wedding bands on the beach! I went to lather my daughter up in spf, handed my husband my rings and he sat them on his lap. He then jumped up to grab our daughter and both rings went flying. Even worse we didn’t even notice they were gone for fifteen or so minutes later! Wedding Band Lost in Newport Harbor, CA…Found

I received a call from Taylor last week about his ring loss, asking if I could help. He had been Stand Up Paddle boarding, and when he was coming in to finish his day, there was a bit of roughness in the area that caused him to fall into the water. He then proceeded to hand paddle the rest of the way in. When he got to shore he realized his ring had come off. I offered to go that day, but he was unable to make it. We kept in contact, trying to coordinate a time we could get together, and it wasn’t until today that I was going to have the time to do a search, so Taylor took a step of faith, not ever having met me, and sent me a picture of the area, and drawings to show the exact place the loss happened.

I checked my tide charts, and saw that the extra low tide would be at 4:30 AM, so I told Taylor I would be going to search in the early morning. I got up at 2:00 AM, and was on the spot at 3:30 AM. Having the real low tide gave me a lot of area to search, and made it a heck of a lot easier. It was nice, with a lot of solitude, and coolness of the morning, which was nice with the heat wave we’ve been having. Also nice was that there was a full moon, which aided in my being able to see what I was doing. I searched for 1 1/2 hours getting a lot of old cans and other aluminum products, until I got a solid hit, which when I dug it I saw a nice big chunky gold band; 5 AM, not a bad search. I looked inside to make sure it had the inscription Taylor had told me about, and saw that this was his ring.

I got back to the car about 5:30, and sent him a text with a picture of the ring, figuring he might still be sleeping. I then drove to a McDonalds in the area to get a bite to eat, as I was getting hungry. He had sent a text back just 3 minutes later, and wanted to meet for the return. He was only 10 minutes away, so I told him I would wait at the restaurant. Taylor showed up, and I could see the excitement he had to get his ring back, I am sure thinking he would have never seen it again. Seeing that smile on his face is what this is all about. What a joy!

Lost Gold Cartier Wedding Band at Turtle Bay North Shore…FOUND!!!

Late Sunday night I got a call from Steve from Huntington Beach, California. While throwing a football in Turtle Bay lagoon his ring flew off. He wasn’t sure if it went forwards or backwards but marked his spot with a large stick in the sand on the beach. Forwards could have been 6 feet deep and backwards 3 feet deep. I told Steve we had to meet early Monday morning if we wanted a chance at finding his ring because many detectorists hit Turtle Bay regularly and early. I arranged to meet Steve at 6 am sharp. I brought my scuba gear just in case it was more then chest deep. When I got to the beach access parking I phoned Steve and he met me in the parking lot. We walked down to the beach and the tide was extremely low. Also thinking back when Steve lost the ring it was on an extreme high tide. Full moon in effect. I started about 5 yards to the left of center and started my grid search. On the third leg I got a loud tone but it was two quarters side by side. Continuing on about the fifth leg I got a screaming target in knee deep water. It took three scoops but there it was one of the most stunning designed Cartier rings I’ve seen. I asked Steve to tell me the design again and it was his ring. Steve told me he had only been married for 48 hours so the relief on his face was so very apparent. Another honeymoon ends well. I received a call around 3:30 pm yesterday from Dave telling me his wife Christy had lost her wedding ring. She had been doing finger painting with her kids in the back yard and  after she cleaned up realized her ring was missing. They had both looked in the grass and had no luck finding it.

Dave went on the internet to find a metal detector to rent and found The Ring Finders web site, so he contacted me. I told Dave I would be down around 4:30 pm and have the ring back on Christy’s finger.

Christy showed me where she was playing with the kids in the yard, had taken off her ring and set it on the table.  I checked in the grass around the table,  moved the table and chairs out of the way,  and about about 2 feet from the table,  I received a sweet tone,  pulled out my pin pointer and bingo,  there hidden in the grass was the ring.  Without the right tools in hand this ring would never have been found.

Lost Gold Wedding Band in Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

After spending the morning metal detecting I was waiting for relatives to arrive for a Father’s Day Party. As relatives were arriving I received a call from Ken who lives on Oahu. Ken said that while he was playing volleyball in the water with his family as he went to strike the ball his ring popped off into the water. His daughter saw where it landed but like usual the soft lagoon sand consumed the ring. Ken immediately marked the spot in 3 feet of water with coral and stones they found laying around. He contacted his friend at Four Seasons Resort which put him in contact with Duke from Aloha Security and that’s how he found me. It was 5:30 and the sun was setting fast. Ko Olina is 30+ miles away and I wasn’t sure what traffic was going to be like so I told Ken I’d be on my way but not sure how long it would take. Thankfully traffic was very light and I made it there in 40 minutes. Ken was standing in the water next to the pile of coral & stones. He introduced me to his lovely wife Jackie (whose name you can see inside the ring) and his daughters who were waiting on the beach. I quickly started a circular search pattern working out from the pile. On the third leg about 20 feet from the pile I got my first target. It sounded good and one scoop later I pulled Ken’s ring from the scoop and handed it to him. Hugs, handshakes, thank yous and pictures all make this hobby so rewarding. Aloha to Ken & Jackie!
