Wedding Ring Lost at Clearwater Beach (found) by SRARC

Mike was down from Virginia visiting Clearwater Beach with his wife and 3 children for spring break. Yesterday afternoon he stepped out onto the beach and into the water. When he got about knee deep he thought it might be a good idea to remove his wedding ring and store it in his pocket for safe keeping. As he was pulling it off of his finger it slipped from his grip and fell into the water. After frantically searching on his hands and knees for a while it became clear that he would not find it. He returned to his room and worried about it for several hours before searching the internet for help. When he did, the Ring Finders popped right up and he found the SRARC Ring Finders group. He called that evening and we set up a meet time in front of the Hotel on Clearwater Beach. At 8:00 am the next morning, Mike Miller, Mark Sillence, Wayne Cree, Jerry Schneider, and Rick Magyar showed up for the recovery. After listening to Mike’s story and getting clear on the area the wedding ring was lost we started the search. In about 15 minutes Rick gave the thumbs up and brought Mike his ring. We got lots of smiles and hugs from him as he celebrated the return of is ring. It was a real pleasure for us to meet Mike and be able to make his day. Thanks to all who participated.

Lost Wedding Ring Found and Returned on Maderia Beach. Florida

Jon, down from Michigan with his extended family for a warm spring break at Maderia Beach, headed out to the beach for a little game of catch. He was close to the waters edge and lunged to catch a pass and “BOOM” his wedding ring flew off and into the water. The whole family (I think he said there were 30 of them) searched and searched but could not find it. He then got the idea to rent a mental detector. When he told the shop owner about the problem, the owner sent him to Ring Finders. He contacted SRARC and we soon scheduled a hunt for the next morning at 7:00 am. Jim and Gerri Adams, Paul Hill and Mike Miller showed up and Jon was there waiting for them on the dark and foggy beach in front of his condo. He gave us the story and defined the hunt area for us and we went to work. Ten minutes later, Paul Hill got a good hit and in a few digs up came the ring. Jon was overjoyed and we were soon introduced to a few of his family members. There were plenty of smiles to go around with Jon and family and now their vacation can continue on a good note. The SRARC group wishes them all the best.

Wedding Ring Returned On Siesta Key Beach, Florida

Bobby and family came down to Siesta Key Beach from Brooklyn, NY for a warm spring break. They were out on the beach in front of their condo taking in the sun when Bobby and his daughter started tossing a ball around  as he was backing into the water. As he tossed the ball one more time, off came his wedding ring. The whole family searched but there was no finding the ring. Bobby searched on the internet and SRARC popped up. He contacted Tom and we scheduled a hunt for the next morning. Paul Hill, Wayne Cree, and Mike Miller showed up to meet Bobby at 9:00 the next morning. Bobby filled them in on where they had been tossing the ball and how deep he thought he was. In about 10 minutes, Paul found the ring. Bobby was very excited to have his ring back and commented that they would now be able to enjoy the rest of their holiday and the trip home. We enjoyed the big smile on his face and couldn’t be happier that we could give him his ring back. Great job guy’s!!!!!!!

Purity Ring Lost, Found and Returned on Anna Maria Island

A Leadership conference group from the G5 Church in Davenport, Florida came down to Anna Maria Island for a day of rest and relaxation. Some of the young people were playing soccer in the warm sand when BreAnn fell down. When she got up, her hands were all covered with sand. (You know how it is when you have suntan lotion on and dip your hands into sand) She pulled her Purity ring off so she could get the sand out from under it and immediately dropped it into the sand. It of course disappeared. They all looked and looked with no luck. They started to sift the whole area with play plastic sand strainers and another member of the group went in search of a metal detector. He found a detector but they were not successful in finding the ring. Finally because the day was coming to an end and they needed to return to the Orlando area, Josana started looking on the internet for help. She found SRARC on the Ring Finders and contacted Tom Jones. Tom contacted Mike Miller and Mike headed down to the Island right away. When he arrived they showed him the area they had sifted (only about 6 sq. ft.) and he got ready to hunt. Two swings later he got the gold tone, leaned over and picked up the ring. It was in the pile of sand that they had sifted and one of the sifters was actually sitting on top of it.

BreAnn was overjoyed and the others were in shock that it was found so fast. They were all smiling and excited that BreAnn had her ring back. We had a round of hugs and then they were on their way home. I think they must have had a very happy ride home. It is always a pleasure for us at SRARC to be able to return special items to their owner.

Wedding Ring lost found and returned Madeira Beach, Florida

Ryan and his wife Ashley were enjoying at sunny afternoon at the beach tossing around a Nerf Football when Ryan felt his ring fly off his finger.  They immediately went to try and rent a metal detector at a rent all type place, but were disappointed to find that all the rental places detectors were broken.  So they posted an add on Craigslist in hopes someone may spot the ring.  Howard Metts saw the post and gave Stan Flack a heads up to the post since it was near his home.  After a few text’s and emails, Stan decided he had enough information and gave a hunt for the ring on his way to work.  After about 10 minutes of hunting, bingo, ring found.  Ryan and Ashley ecstatic about the find, met Stan at his work and the ring was returned.  Smile’s all the way around.

Precious Pendant Lost Found and Returned in Oldsmar, Florida

Nancy’s daughter was getting out of a car on a visit to Nancy’s home when her pendant chain broke.  She was able to catch the chain while watching the pendant fall into the thick plush grass and disappear. The family searched the area but could not find it.   Nancy contacted Mike Miller at SRARC and asked if they could help. Mike contacted Howard Metts to conduct a search.  The search area was a very small plot of thick grass between the sidewalk and the curb in front of the house.  After about 15 minutes Howard got a signal with his detector and was able to use his pin pointer to coax the pendant out of the thick grass.  Nancy said her daughter will be very happy to see the pendant again.  This is Howards second return this year and its only January! Nice work Howard and we are all happy to see the smile on Nancy’s face.

Bellaire Causeway Lost Go Pro Found and Returned by SRARC

Matt received a brand new Go Pro 3 for Christmas and recorded the celebrations his family enjoyed over the holidays. With lots of space still available for filming he took the camera to his favorite fishing spot and decide to try and get a few underwater shots of his lure as he worked it into shore. He walked out to the edge of an oyster bar he was working and placed the camera right at the edge of the bar and wedged it into place with the shells. He walked away to get a good angle to drag the lure past the lens and when he returned, the water had become very muddy from his foot steps. He looked and looked for hours, He even got some snorkel gear and swam around the area searching but had no luck. He was heartbroken for the loss of the camera, but mostly for the loss of the precious pictures of his family.

He eventually found some of the members of the SRARC ring finders team and we put together a search to recover the camera. Mike Miller scheduled the search for 8:00 am at the lowest tide of the week. The team (Mike, Paul Hill, Ed Osmar, Rick Magyar, Stan Flack, and Mark Sillence) went to work right at 8:00 am and in less than a minute Paul spotted the Go Pro setting in the oyster bed. We didn’t even have a chance to fire up the metal detectors. Nice job Team SRARC!!!!!

Matt had to work so he wasn’t around when we found it but we contacted his wife who told us where to find him. We delivered the camera to him at his workplace, and as you can see in the picture he was very pleased. It was a pleasure to be able to find and return his Christmas gift and great to see the big smile on his face.

Dunedin Gold Ring Found in Post Hole Pile and Returned by SRARC

Jill Cicero was having a new fence installed in the backyard of her new Dunedin home with her father supervising the installation of the posts.  Her father noticed his gold ring was missing halfway through the job and stopped all work asking his daughter to find someone to help find the ring.  Jill found our club SRARC on The Ring Finders and contacted Tom Jones who called Howard Metts, a member that lives in Dunedin.  Howard went out late that afternoon and after 45 minutes of searching with his detector had no luck.  Switching to a pin pointer Howard searched the dug post holes  and at the second post hole found the ring in a pile of soil between the post and fence.  Howard contacted Jill who was coming home from work and informed her of the find.  Jill and her father were very happy to see the ring again.  What a way to start the new year.

Julia joined her folks, siblings, and spouses/boyfriends in a condo on Indian Rocks Beach for the Christmas/New Years Holiday. After a week of beautiful hot weather a little wind kicked up and the chance to do a little Skim boarding presented itself. The whole gang headed down to the water with their boards and just as Julia was about to test her skills, her father warned her to take off her wedding ring. She reached for it and pulled just as her father yelled “Don’t take it off in the water”, but he was a second to late. The ring slipped out of her hand and dropped into the water and instantly was out of sight. They all looked until dark and even then got out their cell phones and searched by the light hoping they would see the ring shining back at them. It was not to be.

That evening, Julia’s sister did a search on the internet and found SRARC on the Ring Finders site. Mike Miller got a text at 10:30 pm that night asking for help. He put together a team of club members and they meet Julia and the family the next morning at 10:00 am. After spending a few minutes getting the story of what had happened and making the search area as narrow as possible the hunt began. About 30 seconds later, Rick Magyar took the first dig and there it was. The family were all amazed and we had plenty of smiles on all of their faces. Thanks to Rick, Stan Flack, Mark Sillence, and Mike for making the effort.

We at SRARC are all very happy to have made this New Year’s Eve a happy one for Julia.

Diane found SRARC through the Ring Finders Web site a few days after her husband had lost his gold and diamond wedding ring while working on the Christmas decorations in the front yard. He had been moving the reindeer into an area full of small bushes. He first stumbled and fell into the bushes and then fell again onto the grass as he was leaving the bushes. When he finished, he walked a block away to the mailboxes, retrieved the mail, and returned home. Later that evening he noticed that his wedding band was missing. They looked all around where he had been with no luck so Diane began to look for help on the internet.

She called Tom as soon as she found SRARC and  Mike was dispatched to see if he could find the ring. After covering the bushes, the yard, and even the grass along the sidewalk to the mailboxes with no result, Mike decided to go over the front yard one more time. In about 10 feet he hit a good tone and sure enough there was the ring. Don’t know how he missed it the first time but was sure glad he decided to go over the ground a second time.

Diane and her husband were overjoyed to have his wedding band back on his hand in time for Christmas. Srarc wishes them a very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!!!!!!
